The Weather Channel WS-9055TWC Wireless Forecast Stationx$22.83
    (26 reviews)
Best Price: $39.95 $22.83
How's the weather? You'll always know the answer with the Weather Channel's handsome forecast station. Your personal meteorologist features a digital clock and displays indoor and outdoor temperature, recording the highs and lows with a time stamp. A weather forecast icon clearly illustrates the weather outside based on the changing barometric pressure. One-year limited warranty. Model WS-9055TWC-GB.
For nature lovers, boaters, or folks who just like to be prepared, this wireless forecast station provides all the stats for planning a day trip outdoors. The station reports the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius for indoor and outdoor locations using a remote sensor. For more accurate outdoor readings, the base unit can receive information from up to three different sensors that can each be placed up to 80 feet away. The forecast station also records the minimum and maximum temperatures within a 24-hour period, and recalls them at your prompting. A forecast icon on the LCD displays weather predictions for any 12- to 20-hour time period based on changing air pressure. For added convenience, this weather station has a manually-set quartz clock that keeps time in hours and minutes in 12-hour mode. The wireless forecast station requires two AA batteries for the receiver, another two for the remote, and mounts on a wall or rests on a table. This unit is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Nice little unit By A2SHGJ8HLQXV2V on 2007-01-03
Works very well. But do not try to attach it to metal siding. The metal blocks the signal.
very accurate By A1FOCMN5HRPUHZ on 2007-09-11
Very nice little unit and very accurate. Easy to set up and easy to install. If you decide to use the double faced tape thats supplied to attach the remote sensor be aware this stuff is really STICKY! its not going to come off even in an 8.2 earthquake so make sure you have it located exactly where you want it and where its going to work! Better off using the screws included if you have any doubt about where to locate it.
Serves its purpose By A3QL21GLZJHUZ0 on 2007-01-04
I purchased this unit because I required at least 2 remotes. One is used for standard outside tempurature, and the second is to watch the temps iside my greenhouse. I looked at many other units, some with many more features, but this serves it's intended puropose perfectly, while costing very little. I still have one channel left, and may possibly use it to watch the temps in our protected front courtyard style entry area.
Inside-Outside Temps: Gotta Have! By A3J20H0TMMFDJA on 2007-08-04
This is the second one of this Weather Channel WFS model we have owned. The first came as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. It worked fine until recently when the screen simply went blank! It was too good to pass up, so we bought one. It works fine but may be a little fragile over time. Live with it.
Wrong statement By A1THPZ41355QL3 on 2007-02-11
Its a good product but doesn't show the temperature in Celsius as written in the description. That's bad because here in Brazil, Celsius is the standard.
- Functions perfectly so far!
     By A2PNOU7NXB1JE4 on 2008-02-28
I purchased the The Weather Channel WS-9055TWC Wireless Forecast Station since it was on a Friday sale and I had read so many mixed reviews that I wanted to get the cheapest one first to try. Well it has worked perfectly for the past couple of weeks I've used it. The important part to get it working properly is to put the batteries in the remote receiver first, then in the station. Since I liked this one so much, I also picked up the La Crosse Technology WS-9611U Wireless Sun/Moon Weather Station. This one has many extra features, most importantly for me is the humidity level reading for my home office. I also enjoy the clothing indicator and the moon phases. Both have worked perfectly (granted I've only had them a few weeks) and usually are within one degree F of each other. I don't think you could go wrong with either selection depending on your needs, but I would wait for a repeat Friday sale as now they are almost double what I paid, (TWC 22.99 B4F3, so really around 16.00 and 16.99 for the WS-9611U). If I later have an issue w/ either one functioning properly I will update this review.
- Happy with service and product
     By A12GLWV54Q7WR9 on 2007-01-12
I was very happy with the short time it took to receive the weather forecast station. It is everything I hoped for. Thank you!
- Great Weather Station
     By A2JYR10B40EI3Z on 2007-05-14
Great weather forecast product. The only problem I have is changing the time. I highly recommend this weather station.
- Less than what you pay for
     By A340YFH5WMTFHV on 2007-12-22
Positives: it seems to be moderately well-calibrated.
Negatives: the wall mounting for the station is ridiculously inadequate--one screw that it swings from. Also, if you have to change batteries, it's a 25 minute process (2 waiting periods of 10 and 15 minutes). I've already had to do this 3 times in the first day: once to get the thing started, once when signal was lost, and once when I brushed against the station and it fell to the floor. At least it didn't break. I *think* that's a good thing.
- Not bad, but I'm spoiled
     By AQPQ5OH7HMNQH on 2008-01-18
I bought the product for the sending unit. Have another one by them that receives the time by signal. Prefer that. It costs a little more. Your preference. Also the units seem to be fussy about batteries. Wants regular Alkaline AAs to work. Didn't like my lithiums.
- NOT AS DESCRIBED
     By A2PRBQH1BYZEC0 on 2008-02-08
THE PRODUCT IT SELF IS FINE, BUT THE DESCRIPTION IN AMAZON SAYS THAT IT GIVES TEMPERATURES IN FARENHEIT AND CELSIUS. AND THAT IS NOT CORRECT. SINCE I LIVE IN MEXICO I NEED THE TEMPERATURE IN CELSIUS. I HAD TO RETURN THIS ITEM. IF AMAZON WOULD JUST CORRECT THIS ISSUE, I WOULD'NT WAISTE TIME RETURNING THE ITEM AND WOULD NOT BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
- Not as advertised
     By A295KQ58BVPBTM on 2008-02-23
Delivered on time. Nice unit but no temperature readings in Celsius. I specificaly bought this unit because they advertised this capability.
- not satisfied
     By A3JVQTW3ABQUZV on 2008-05-13
Description lies that degrees could be switched from F to C. This is not true!!!. Very unsatisfied!!!
- Forecast Station
     By A1DXDSTP77HUQ2 on 2007-12-29
It was a little difficult to use at first. The screen kept resetting and not taking the outside temperature correctly. After a few tries, we got it to work.
- Functional
     By A6W4IJRCVR5DF on 2008-01-07
This item will tell you the temperature and a few other bells and whistles, but I don't use the extras. It works fine, I just feel like I could have paid less for what I was looking for, which was really just the temperature inside and out.
- Nice little device
     By A2C9M6X6YTWZ23 on 2008-01-17
Ordered this weather station for my husband, who likes to know the temperature and chances for rain, etc. He really likes this little unit. The only issue we have found is that the information provided is very general. Wish there were more features, but for the price, this does what it is supposed to do.
- WHO NEEDS A WEATHERMAN!
     By A2YO0GCBQYQVDS on 2008-01-27
This was purchased as a gift. After reviewing ALL of Amazon's written reviews, I went with THIS model. The gift was EXACTLY what they wanted! So far, so good! BETTER than good! The recipient remarks on it almost everyday, loves the read out, VERY accurate, & had NO trouble installing it. A great little product with a reasonable price tag.
- Weak Transmission
     By A254FCX62RPS28 on 2008-02-05
Bought this as a present for my parents. Placed the sensor, out side the kitchen window and under the overhang from the roof...yet it cant pick up the signal!!
Save your money, get a better unit!
- Remote thermometer
     By A16UTJE1NR713D on 2008-02-08
The outdoor temperature shown inside is about 10 degrees warmer than a test one placed in the same location.
- What a handy gadget!
     By A1PZPQCICPBR44 on 2008-02-09
This forecaster makes it so much easier to know how to dress for work each day. It is extremely easy to set up, and extremely easy to read. Sometimes it is even more accurate than our local weatherman!
- Outdoor Thermometer
     By A2HMV0JN06XUN7 on 2008-02-25
The thermometer was easy to set up, seems to give accurate indoor and outdoor temperatures as well as weather forecasting based upon barometric pressures.
- It was well received
     By AQZKQL26BEPB5 on 2008-04-06
I bought three of these as Xmas gifts for family members. They all loved them.
- Nice Gift!
     By AF7ABBYWNV1AY on 2008-04-07
I bought this as a gift for my difficult-to-purchase-for husband. He was always going outside to check the temperature on a thermometer outside. Now he can just look at the wall in front of him in the home office. Nice price!
- Does a nice job
     By AFVUEYXXEESGZ on 2008-07-08
Have had this unit for over 4 weeks, and we think it's great. Easy to install, seems accurate, and actually does a fair job of forecasting. We find we're looking at it more often than we anticipated we would.
- Don't Buy It If You Want Additional Sensors!
     By A3DZBYH1VYZ63A on 2008-07-14
I want a weather station with 3 remote sensors: Outside, pool and hot tub. I bought a Lacrosse 8035 and it does NOT support additional sensors as advertised. I returned it to Amazon for refund and ordered this unit, advertised as supporting 3 additional sensors. It also does NOT work with anything but the one outside sensor provided. This unit, unfortunately, came from Builder Depst, through Amazon. Builder Depot will NOT refund my $100 because this unit has been discontinued!!
I have emailed Lacrosse for help, but don't have much hope. I feel that I have been DUPED by Amazon, Builder Depot and Lacrosse by FALSE advertising. BEWARE if you buy anything from the above!!!
