Cordless freedom!!!... Outstanding By ADWUO17H29QU2 on 2005-01-27
I had this unit for about a month, used it to play Half Life, and Need for Speed 2 Underground. Outstanding performance in both cases. I'm running a dell p4 2.GHz 512mb WinXP Pro SP2. Easy installation, no problems of any kind so far. The original batteries are still going strong. Hope this review is helpful.
Best gamepad around By A20V6GOENMOKKV on 2005-01-28
I'm not generally a fan of wireless controller, for one simple reason. I don't need the wireless feature, and I'd prefer to not think about batteries. However, I was not about to pass up the $20 after rebates price on this pad.
This button arrangement of this pad perfectly fits Madden 2005, enhancing gameplay immensely over other pads that may require you to remember what button correspond to what in the manual. (Madden 2005 allows you to configure your gamepad, but the configuration does not work for all phases of the game, e.g., the snap, and the receivers may be labelled differently than set up in Madden 2005's button configuration utility.)
True, the gamepad lacks Force-Feedback in Madden 2005 - so does every other game controller. MADDEN 2005 PC DOES NOT SUPPORT FORCE-FEEDBACK FOR ANY GAMEPAD, PERIOD. That's EASport's fault, not Logitech's.
For the person with the calibration problems after replacing batteries, try unplugging the receiver unit from the USB port and plugging it back in.
If you want to play Madden 2005, and have no intention of playing games with Force-Feedback, but by the non-Forceback version of this gamepad, unless you get a deal. Similarly, unless you get a deal on this gamepad, or you really want or need wireless, get the wired version of this gamepad.
These are truly the best gamepads for the PC, >EVER< By A1MM30YDKJPG06 on 2005-06-10
I was very skeptical about these at first. They looked cheap and I was not sure how long it was going to last. Let me tell you, they are great!
I purchased two of them to play the new Lego Star Wars with my son and I am utterly blown-away as to how much more relaxed we are when we play. No more cords!!!! Its been over 9+ weeks of use at nearly every day and neither sets of batteries has died yet, and thats using the cheap-O's included with the pads!
I did get hung-up trying to configure them at first. PLease understand that their software works great and you need it for the rumble effect, *HOWEVER* the software was designed with the assumption that you only have ONE gamepad. It is next to impossible to configure two gamepads using their software. I finally figured it out by uninstalling their software and simply letting Windows XP discover the devices and going to the game(s) and configuring the pads there. Most games allow you to do this by simply changing the keyboard layout from a certain set of keys to whatever you input. So if a game is set to use "W" as its up key, simply press enter and the game waits for you to press any key that will represent the new layout. So go to your gamepad and press the UP stick. Windows will auto-populate the field with the proper settings. Very nice!
I highly recommend this device. Its VERY durable and cleans well (sticky fingers) not to mention it is GREAT to play a two player game from over 10 feet away in bean-bags as opposed to stiff chairs bound by cords! Buy this product now!
Update: 9/2008 : It's been 2 years since I've had these. Well: I STILL HAVE THEM! Did I mention I have TWO boys? They work these things HARD and they still operate as expected. Logitech made a VERY reliable controller. They still sell em so it's a good thing. YAY!
Super Controller... bad driver By A20IEU9CTQW1FQ on 2004-10-27
Played FIFA 2005 using the brand new controller. Works great! First I installed the driver and software as instructed by the manual. Everything was fine. Then a week later, I removed the batteries. When I replaced the batteries, the calibration of the analog sticks were off. And there's no way to re-calibrate using the driver installed. So, I decided to uninstall the driver and software. Then, I used Windows XP's control panel to calibrate the gamepad. It works fine after that. So, if you get this gamepad, you don't need to install the drivers and software if you're using Windows XP. As for other Windows versions, you'l have to try to find out. The software is just an interface for you to assign buttons for various games that you have. Some games already allow you to reconfigure the buttons in the game's options.
Overall, great gamepad and range is pretty good too.
Excellent controller. Great wireless response. However, short handles... By ABIVKBMSIPEDY on 2006-01-01
Before purchasing this controller, I have been using the Logitech Wingman RumblePad and Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power controllers. And finally, I decided to go wireless. However, not only did the wireless and the brand "Logitech" interest me, but it was the familiar interface to Sony's PlayStation controller.
It basically IS a PS controller, but with some minor tweaks. The 8-directional D-Pad feels much better (kind of reminds me of the original NES D-pad). The D-pad on my other two controllers (the WingMan and FireStorm) feel extremely stiff compared to this Rumblepad 2; definitely would work well with fighting games. The 4 buttons on the right are easy to press and big. The added weight of the two AA batteries actually makes the controller feel better: not "cheap" and more solid.
I appreciate the numbers (not some random letters or shapes) written on all the buttons for assigning the controls. (When you assign buttons with the controller for a specific game, it correctly displays as "Button 1" and "Button 2" and so forth. My Wingman controller had letters for each button, which helped in no way; it made things confusing.)
The wireless response is excellent. I can practically go anywhere in my house and hear the game still respond to my controls! I have enough cords around my computer, so this made it convenient: easy to store and take out only when I need to play. I have routers and other electronics around, but I have not encountered any conflict.
I do have ONE complaint, however (this might be the same as the PS controller): personally, I think the handles are too short, so it makes holding the left joystick a bit awkward; I have to raise a part of my palm to use the left joystick. It may be okay for children's hands, but a bit uncomfortable for an adult-sized hand. On the other hand (sorry for the pun), I can hold the handles securly and comfortably when using the D-pad.
Pros:
* Wireless; excellent response.
* 12 programmable buttons (including the joystick *BUTTONS*; press down on the joystick)
* D-Pad is soft and easy to press
* Solid feel
* Vibration feedback
* Buttons with its corresponding number written
* Grip on joystick
* Black design and simple
* Plug & Play
Cons:
* Short handles: makes holding the left joystick feel a bit awkward.
Overall, I would still recommend this controller. I already owned two controllers before this, but this was worth the upgrade. If you're looking for a PC controller, this is definitely one of the best out there today.
- Comfortable and responsive; by far the best controller I've used
     By A2D0M9E6XKC63M on 2005-10-13
Aside from the convenience of cordless (I'm now trying to kick the habit of constantly moving the now non-existent cord out of the way), there are other reasons to like this controller. Some complain about the weight, but it doesn't seem too heavy to me. With the batteries installed, it has just the right amount of heft, making it feel solid and well-built. The controls are smooth, accurate, and well-placed for my thumbs (I have somewhat large hands). There is no cheap plastic feel, and the slightly textured plastic case is pleasing to the touch. The rubbery tops of the thumbsticks provide a secure grip for your thumbs.
With wireless, I was worried about lag, but there is none perceivable. Action games play fine where timing is critical. A nice touch is the ability to quickly swap the D-pad and left analog stick via a toggle button right between them (with corresponding indicator light). That makes it easy to go exactly straight forward when you need to. Because although there are slight centering guides to keep the thumbsticks centered horizontally and vertically, it is still very easy to move off to the side. That's not a complaint, as I think analog controls should allow you to move in any direction easily.
Only two complaints:
1. When releasing the thumbstick quickly, its self-centering action will often overshoot to the opposite direction for a split second before settling in the center. It is enough to turn the game character around. I've had to get used to releasing the stick more gently to avoid this.
2. Macintosh software is not included nor available from Logitech's web site for customizing buttons. The included software is Windows-only. I was disappointed when the D-pad was not automatically recognized in certain games. I figured I could just configure the game's controls to perform the appropriate actions, but the D-pad is not treated as buttons and not recognized at all. However, I was able to solve this by using the shareware "GamePad Companion" to assign keystrokes to the D-pad.
Pros:
Solid feel
Smooth action
Wireless
Analog <-> D-pad toggle
Thumbsticks act as two more buttons
Excellent battery life (seems to be true to the advertising claim of 100 hours with vibration off)
Cons:
Thumbstick overshoot
No Mac software
- Disappointing
     By A2KX6O5ERB7TR6 on 2005-12-04
Let me preface what I'm about to say with I consider myself a fan of Logitech products. Going back to my first PC in '98 I've always enjoyed their line of mice and game controllers (they make the definitive racing wheel IMO). So its with great reluctance that I give their industrial design group poor marks for this particular iteration of their gamepad. Obviously taking its cue from the venerable Playstation controller, Logitech took what it seemed was a no-brainer idea and matched Sony's near perfect design button for button. But the problem isn't the buttons you see, its the shape. The two handles simply are too close together....too vertically aligned to be comfortable enough for extended play sessions. At first try the controller seems a comfortable fit but after about 5 minutes of play, the unatural position becomes more pronounced until it becomes distracting enough to force one to pick up the mouse and keyboard again. The final deal-breaker was the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, a game made for consoles ported to the PC that you would assume would benefit from the gamepad but that wasn't the case. Its as if the controller were designed strictly for children rather than the adults who make up a large percentage of PC gaming.
In closing, I would urge anyone who may purchase this to keep their receipt. I would also urge Logitech to go back to their previous way of designing game controllers, by forging their own path which is something they have proven in the past they are quite adept at.
- Can't believe it doesn't have a cord
     By AHQI1SL16N2A7 on 2005-01-07
Although this is a new purchase, and I've only used it for just over a month, it is the single best game controller I've had for my PC. I have several other Logitech devices in use on the 2 PC's in my home, and both have been performing flawlessly for over 2 years. This game controller was a stretch for me, I've never had much faith in cordless hardware. This unit may as well have a cord attached to it, it responds better than the Gravis controllers I've had (5), and the action on the joysticks is profoundly accurate. Durability is still in question, since I've only put 30 hours on this unit. My PC is a Dell Dimension 8200, running XP Home edition with service pack 2 already installed (CD version, minimal install). The games I play are Mechwarrior 4 and expansions, NASCAR games. The driving games have been hard to get used to, the controller responds so quickly that I'm not used to that amount of precision. For the price you pay, you can't go wrong. Especially if you're familiar with the Sony Playstation controller.
- Discriminating gamer.
     By A29JBG28J72UP9 on 2006-09-03
This unit has been in my hands for two weeks, and already I'm having serious issues with it.
First, either the controller can't send precise signals or the sensor isn't discrimination enough. Every so often, pressing one button will activate the function of a different button. (e.g. I'll press button 6 and button 2 will activate instead)
Second, the right analog stick won't stay zeroed. I started out fine, but went south over time. It is now nearly unusable.
- With battery charger you have a pseudo-PS3 type wireless Controller!
     By AD0J5KK4WQXNS on 2005-10-03
The downside first - unlike the MX1000 wireless mouse, this Rumblepad II gamepad does not come with a receiver/charger combo (receiver only) and so runs using two AA batteries instead. This means you will want to get a charger with at least 4 AA rechargable batteries so that you can swap them around. To be honest 2 AA batteries give you over 100 hours of power (5 solid days running!) so recharging and swapping is not something that will happen too often. Another downside is that 2 AA batteries add some extra weight to the controller which is already about twice the weight of a PS2 controller. It has two extra buttons on the front panel above where the start buttons are on the PS2 controller, so it has 10 buttons in total, along with two thumbsticks and one directional controller. The quality of the plastic feels more like advanced graphite material, making it more durable than a PS2 controller. As for the receiver, a very small fit-in-your-palm black box, it has a button at the front that can be pressed to try and reboot the signal if it is lost (only had to do this once at the start during install) and plugs into a USB socket as normal, however I have noticed that because the base-station is light it sometimes tends to tilt a tiny bit because of the weight of the wire coming from the back of it. As for gaming, well the bottom line is that I can now sit across the room with a range of up to 9 meters. The gamepad looks best when it is just cast aside next to the PC and sits there cordless and looking like it is from outer space. As for gaming adaptability - while playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas I did not have to even program the gamepad controls. I just switched from using keyboard to gamepad and it retained almost the exact same controller assignment as the PS2 version of the game except for assigning some movements to keys 9 and 10 at the front. There is also a mode switch on the controller for swapping controller type. It comes bundled with software for programming the controller if you want (a notification area icon). Anyway if you can get over the fact that it needs two AA batteries you will have the first wireless cordless gamepad even before the PS3 or XBOX 360 is released. HOOT!
Pros:
- Wireless Gamepad.
- Very nice black graphite.
- Already a standard for new games.
- Small receiver.
- Comes with controller programmable software (hardly needed though).
Cons:
- No base-station type receiver/recharger.
- Not as heavy as an Xbox controller but 2 AA adds weight.
- Does not work out of the box for MAC even though it says it does
     By A2CPKOYOY9CQVO on 2005-12-10
This product should not be promoted for MAC by the manufacturer or Amazon. My opinion is that this is false advertising. I tried to get the pad to work to later find out that additional software is needed, and even then it does not work well enough to use. Looking at the Mac website, similar reviews for the cord version of Rumblepad. This is for PC. Total disappointment. Lots of hassle now to return it. Don't buy it if you are going with MAC. They say its native and you don't have to load software... that is false. It does not work out of the box and there are no instructions or help online for this. Bad deal.
- Won't Work for Me
     By A2E9D04B8MTJAP on 2007-08-22
This thing has an OS X insignia on the box. When I plug it into my USB port, my computer sees it fine. Darn shame I cannot make the keys do anything in any application. I called Paul at the help center in Amsterdam. He said he knew nothing of OS X and offered no solutions.
I went to the help page. It advised me to repair permissions which I did. No luck.
So I called Paul again, he said I had bad hardware. Darn shame I cannot (as a practical matter) send it back from Saudi Arabia. Maybe if you bought it from a local shop, so you could return it, this would be worth taking a chance on.
- Nice looking pad, but I don't need rumble or wireless.
     By A2NFLHENCYAXGD on 2005-10-28
This is a very nice looking pad:
You've got 4 standard fire buttons, 2 L's and 2 R's just like a Playstation pad, 2 buttons in the middle (9 and 10) which could act as Start and Select, 2 analog sticks who's tops also act as buttons, effectively you have 12 buttons you can program, plus the "Mode" button which acts as a shift, allowing you to give each button a secondary feature. It also looks like they've changed their D-Pad from the sunk in, hard to push design of the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad model to a raised "cross" style D-Pad common on any NES, Sega or Playstation device. Smart move!
This looks like a promising model, but I will not buy it because A: Its $30. B: It has rumble and wireless. Just extra cost for extra features that I don't even want. There are not many games that use rumble and I think the aspect is over-rated anyhow. I don't need wireless because most of the time I am playing I sit IN FRONT OF my computer. But other than that, this looks like a good pad for any PC or console emulation gamer.
Now if only they'd make the same thing, minus the rumble and wireless aspects.
Maybe within the price range of $19 - $25.
- Everything just works
     By A2MTU2IXXZ35ZF on 2006-02-08
Short and simple review:
Pros
- Super easy installation, like installing a USB mouse.
- Highly customizeable software profiler for any game
- Good button feel; 10 usable buttons, not counting the Dpad and vibration and mode buttons.
- Comfortable shape (for small hands), not too light, not too heavy
- Good wireless range and freedom, wireless module is conveniently small and unassuming.
- Easy access to turn off vibration and mode switch for fast switching between D-pad and Analog
- Good looking controller
Cons
- questionable comfort for large hands; the way the handles are shaped, they feel that they are made for smaller hands.
- the angle of the handles are too vertical, not good for your wrists if you like holding the controller close to your body when you play. For optimal comfort, you would have to hold the gampad almost two feet away from your chest/stomach, so that your wrists don't bend too much.
- the D-pad feels loose and not stiff at all like other gamepads
Logitech also makes 2 other versions of this pad if you don't want to spend 30 dollars on this. A wired one with rumble, and a wired one without rumble.
- Beware
     By ABFTXH0MMUHVP on 2006-08-27
We purchsed two of these units. They worked for 1.5 months then we started having problems. While polite, Logitec's customer "no-service" offered fixes which we'd already tried and never were able to get to the bottom of the problem unless I called their phone help personnel at my expense. A month and a half later I'm still going around and around with them. They consistenly avoid my requests for a replacement unit. Now one unit works sporadically and the other doesn't work at all.
In this instance, Logitec has not backed up their merchandise and they do not provide useful customer service, and they only seem to care about the customer so long as we give them money. We feel ripped off.
- "Compatible" doesn't mean "supported" on Mac OS X
     By A353I2EMNFP1DG on 2007-08-29
No Mac OS X software is supplied or available from Logitech. When Logitech says it's "compatible" with Mac OS X, they mean that it's *possible* for individual games to support it -- but it's up to the game publisher. They don't mean that any particular game supports it or that they'll do anything to help. So the chance that this will work with games you've got is near zero.
- my first PC gamepad...
     By AK3IBPWLOYGPI on 2006-06-08
In my opinion, it seems clear this design was "inspired" by the Playstation2 controller. Assuming that most others make this same conclusion, it seems feasible that others may purchase this PC controller based on their experience with PS2 and their desire for something of the same quality, as I did.
However, if you're considering this controller expecting the same quality as PS2, think again. So here are the differences you may want to know.
Buttons:
They are raised UP from the controller considerably more and thus takes a split second longer to press the button down and activate it. This obviously affects your timing. Also it makes a slight "pop" sound as the button comes back up, so that when pushing buttons rapidly, it is a clear sound of "button mashing" that is distracting and unpleasant.
Directional pad:
This is also raised up a bit. It seems to be a round "disc" settled on a center pivot. So when you push the UP direction into the controller, the DOWN direction then pivots away from the controller. This disc also twists a bit, so your grip on the d-pad feels like the d-pad isn't staying in place. Even the d-pad makes a rattling sound during active use.
Ergonomics:
On the PS2, your fingers seem to have a place to be tucked underneath the controller. This Logitech imitation attempts that, but then flaws the design with the placement of the battery compartment. It has a little "box" protrusion underneath, taking away space for your fingers. Also, the controller is noticeably heavier than the PS2 controller, I suppose this is good or bad based on personal preference, but I found myself wishing it were lighter.
Control sticks:
I never really found a game that used them, so I can't comment but they seemed to be good.
Conclusion: I was disappointed with this purchase and I much prefer the PS2 to USB adapter I bought later. I can't compare this controller to any other PC controller as I've never used one, but compared to any of the console controllers in the last 15 years, this one feels inferior to all of them in ergonomics AND button response.
- Vibration doesn't works in Mac!
     By A3K16M2FCNWNYV on 2006-07-28
well, as another reviews, im feeling cool with my new gamepad, but is a shame that after read the instrucctions on the package, i found a note that said: " vibration feature doesn't works in Mac OSX"
i Hope, that this comment be usefull in your purchase! Thx!
- Completely impressed in every possible way
     By A2CS1P9BG00TOM on 2007-09-06
Well, I must admit I almost never right reviews but after configuring this Logitech Gamepad, I couldn't be happier. Most of the other positive reviews cover the overall basics: good build, easy to clean, durable (although I have found the 1 key to stick at time), 10 ft range, ps2 controller feel, plenty of button positions to program (28 if you count both the analog directional pad and 4 positions per joystick).
I had a bit of a problem with the fact that I initially found this gamepad surprisingly difficult to use with a few fairly recent FPS games (Far Cry, Battlefield series; GTA vice city worked straight away and even had a default configuration), not by the fault of Logitech but rather because these games lack joypad support (this is because these games generally require the use of the keyboard keys for movement while using the mouse to control view and aiming). However, after snooping around the internet I found a great program called ControlMK. It basically allows you to program every single key on the gamepad with any key or movement normally performed with a keyboard or mouse. This means I was able to program one joystick with movement via keyboard keys (W,S,A,D) and the other joystick with mouse axis controls (pos/neg x/y) allowing it to function with the view ability (while obviously using a mouse/keyboard for most games is more accurate, it's easy to get good with this setup and a few tweeks of threshold and gain settings)! Not only was this a great solution to playing ANY game regardless of joypad support, it also allows me to use my joypad for regular operating system controls (mouse movement and clicks, media controls, directional keys, etc)! Coupled with the exceptionally long range provided by the wireless, I lay back in bed with my Dell XPS laptop running Windows Vista Business connected to a 50 inch plasma tv and play video games while sometimes breaking to check email or stock quote updates without moving a muscle! Also means I don't have to worry about taking my wireless mouse/keyboard combo with me on a trip if I want to play or just watch movies on the widescreen display at a distance while having control of volume, start/stop, track skipping and mouse functions at my finger tips.
All in all, if you want to have a great value solution for mobile gaming, I've never used one more versatile than this. Coupled with ControlMK, it should work with just about any game and you can also use this as a programmable remote control for your pc. The wireless range is exceptional and the feel is exactly what you'd expect. I've had other great Logitech products and I'm glad to see a veteran hardware company like this contiue to release new innovative products. A++!
Edit:
Forgot to mention that Windows Vista actually comes with an onscreen keyboard in the accessories section. With this you can even "type" by using the controller to mouse over any onscreen keyboard letters and clicking.
- works for mac, even if it says PC
     By A2V2QMTPEYT3B6 on 2007-09-09
I ordered two wireless rumblepads for my macbook. I was worried when I saw that the package only listed instructions for PC, but on my macbook, they were plug & play. No installation needed. These work very well. I was skeptical about the performance of the wireless aspect of these controllers, but the buttons have worked 100% of the time and the response time is impeccable. The only problem that I've had is when using both of them simultaneously, the controllers have actually switched in the middle of gameplay (player one became player 2, and vice versa). This has only happened once, and I use the controllers frequently. Since now I make sure that each controller is sync-ed to the appropriate sensor before running any games. Overall the best gamepad out there.
- NO Feedback
     By AQTC623NCESZW on 2004-12-31
I accidently wrote a review for the wired version of this gamepad but will update here because this is what I bought.
After I wrote my comments in the wired version, a few folks wrote in their review that I didn't know what I was talking about.
Well, I'm a computer expert, I've tried every avenue to make this dang thing work right but no matter what I do there is no feedback for EA Sports Madden 2005 even though this game is featured on the Logitech Rumblepad box! The rumble works for EA Sports Need for Speed but not for Madden 2003 or 2005.
The only conclusion I can come to is this thing is still experimental and not ready for release.
I've sought help from Logitech, EA Sports, Microsoft, on-line forums, updated drivers, tried clean boots, reinstallations galore.
Hours and hours later, still not working right. No more Logitech for me. Maybe no EA Sports either. I don't need the aggravation.
- Awesome..
     By AWH9YCJ59Q7VU on 2005-12-22
This controller is almost perfect.
It has great build quality so it doesn't feel cheap. It also has a nice shape to it: very comfortable to hold. And the software that comes with it is very robust.
You're given so many customizeable options..
- Deadzone: allows you to choose how far to move the stick back before your character moves
&
- Sensitivity
are just some options given to you to tune the controller to your liking.
Very, very, customizeable.
And it's wireless! Meaning no tangled cords. Its performance by the way is very, very, good. I've noticed no lag whatsoever.
One imperfection though are the #9 & #10 button placements. These are the top middle buttons that are unfortunately, placed above the 'mode' and vibration buttons. They should be BELOW these nonplayeable buttons so they could be more reachable.
But hey..I guess no product is perfect.
I give it 4/5. Would have been a 5 if button placements were more spot on. Nevertheless, a very solid effort that's worth the money. Logitech did good.
- great product for the price
     By A3AVCQHI121LEA on 2006-02-08
I recieved this product to go along with my other controller (usb rumble pad 2) and all I can say is its just like the wired version except its wireless.. The software package logitech provides for thier products is always great and customizable at every step.. You can set every button on this controller to be a different command or keystroke... I would say to buy it, you wont regret it....
- Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2
     By A2VKWPD8XPNXE on 2006-02-26
I like the convenience of the cordless gamepad, but this comes at a price. The Rumblepad 2 will consume batteries (2xAA), therefore I recommend the long life, camera type batteries for max life. The USB receiver should have an option for external power because it will draw up to 100ma from the USB port it is plugged into, and this could cause problems with other devices on the same hub. This is a well built unit, but unless you really need a cordless gamepad, I suggest a wired unit.
- best pad out there for the pc period
     By AJNX6WDJ821IQ on 2007-02-27
Not much I can say that has not been said already this is a great pad nothing else really cuts it. The most adjustable settings I have seen on a game pad for the pc in years. Everything else out there is just pain sloppy compared to this and I have been through a dozen or so game pads. None of them have the options like this one has.
- Holy frijole, this game pad is freaking awsome dude!!!
     By AB1DIY9KOUMRA on 2007-11-29
Like this is the best game pad ever invented for us proffesional stay-at -home PC gamers ever. The game pad feels like it was meant for my hands sort of like the bossoms of a beutiful woman. And just like a beutiful hot and sexxy woman, this game pad starts shaking when I touch the right buttons, and that my friends ain't no lie! This game pad ain't gots no wires so you don't have to worry about some dumb broad tripping over the wires as she brings you a cold beer! The range on this baby is really good, I tested the range by going to my mailbox to see if my welfare check came in all while playing Halo and low and behold I captured the flag and my check! This game pad is hotter than hogs chittlins on a hot skillet, I highly recommend it!

A little while ago I bought the corded non-vibration version of this gamepad and the thing broke within a month, so I was reluctant to get this one, but since I read the reviews and I had a 10 dollar coupon I gave it a try. Well its been a while and so far I love it...its very responsive and feels good in my hand. I dont even use force feedback, I really just wanted a cordless pad and this one, for the price I paid, was well worth it. Also I have not had any set-up problems, with or without the logitech software. If you want a solid cordless pad I HIGHLY recommend this.

- Works great

Works great right out of the box. In Windows XP there is no need to install the included software - it will function perfectly without them. If you don't need fancy custom programming don't bother installing the software, you can usually customize the buttons, etc. from within a game anyway. No noticeable lag. The only quirk I noticed is that I also have a Logitech Freedom 2.4 wireless joystick, and in order to play Lego Star Wars with my son I had to unplug the joystick receiver from the computer. For some reason the game would not recognize the gamepad until I disconnected the joystick's receiver. I think this is a problem with the game, not the hardware. The same computer has a Logitech wired gamepad and they coexist perfectly.
- Great controller, but no feedback with EA.

This is a great controller. It feels really nice in your hands, the wireless is flawless, and batteries last a long time. The analog controllers also have a really nice feel.
The force feedback does not work with Need for Speed Most Wanted. I have searched the internet for an answer, but have yet to find one, so hopefully someone here can help me. I have read that newer EA games don't work with this controller's force feedback. I also have a Saitek P2500 controller and the force feedback does work with Need for Speed Most Wanted.
