Fits the PALM T|X perfectly By AR1C7KULFDTG9 on 2006-01-26
I was a little hesitant at first after reading two reviews saying it doesn't fit Palm TX. I then called up the tech. support from Palm and they say it should do the job. I got the product yesterday, and to my joy it fits the Palm TX very well, and doesn't block the top portion of the screen at all. For 20 bucks I believe this is the best deal for my Palm TX.
Purchased for Palm TX based on the prior glowing reviews. By A18U05IGMK1FVV on 2006-01-11
I purchased this case for my Palm TX, based on the prior glowing reviews. I was looking for a nice book-style case made in soft leather. I recently up-graded from a Palm VX with Palm case.
This case is far from a perfect fit for the Palm TX, which is suppose to be the same size as the Palm T5. The top of my PDA protrudes out of the case about 1/4 of an inch. The PDA would crack if dropped on its plastic top edge. The case blocks the top portion of the screen, making it difficult to access some of the menu options. I find my self constantly removing the PDA from the case to use it. The case is not a good choice for the Palm TX. Also, the leather is too slippery for my taste. I fear dropping the unit. The case has a cheap snap to keep it closed. I don't think the snap will last very long.
After reading the prior glowing reviews, I am scratching my head.
This case works just fine for the Palm T/X... By ALBWPLWRJR95G on 2006-02-04
...even if it does have 'Tungsten' embossed on the front. The leather on the outside is fine cowhide, the seude on the inside helps to keep the T/X from slipping, and the fit to the machine is virtually perfect. The padding is soft and should aid considerably in protecting the T/X. I had considered not purchasing this case based on a couple of reviews I'd read, but I went ahaead and purchased it from Amazon.com anyway.
Out of the box the fit wasn't at all what I'de expected - it was somewhat like I'd read, with a bit of the screen obscured. But, leather stretches, and with just a day of adjusting it with tension I got the case fitting the device like a glove. It's probably true that putting media cards into the case could be a bit dangerous, but I haven't tried it, and can't say anything definitive.
This proves a little patience goes a long way.
just big enought it wont fit your shirt pocket anymore... By A1KFAD8M0RLYPO on 2005-02-07
Just a little more effort and this might have been worth buying. It adds almost a half inch to the width of the T5, just enough to keep in out of most shirt pockets (especially with its also adding almost a quarter inch to the thickness). If the hard case doesn't work for you this won't either. Only advantage over hard case is the WiFi card will fit in the inside slots. Better solution: tape a WiFi card "pocket" onto the outside of the folding cover..
Functional entry level case By A3T0MQN8HXSXZT on 2006-06-18
I was pleasantly surprised to discover it fits a Palm TX perfectly. The quality of the leather is appropriate for a twenty dollar product. It doesn't feel cheap but it doesn't feel like a Vaja case either.
- This broke the screen on my Tungsten E
     By A2IT7S59GSASN7 on 2005-10-07
Do you see those slots to hold credit cards and such?
If you put credit cards in them and then fill up the wallet with cash and receipts... beware, the screen can break where the credit card touches the Palm screen.
This happened to me and Palm offered me a 25% discount to replace the screen.
- Excellent product
     By A6AZ3QCMM7DBL on 2005-04-27
I was a little skeptical about buying this after hearing a few people say that their Tungsten T5 did not fit snugly in the leather case. I'm not sure if PalmOne recently fixed this problem, but my T5 fits very nicely in the case. It offers great protection and allows you to charge the T5 while in the case. I opted for the free (supposedly slower) shipping and still received my order within a couple of days. This is a great product for a reasonable price.
- I think it's great
     By A1NR59KNVO9QQY on 2005-08-30
I was plesantly supprised at how nice this case seemed. Not as nice as the Coach one I had for my palm viix, but it seems to be high quality. It affords protection for the palm. the fact that it doesn't fit in my shirt pocket is cool -- the T% is a big device, and that is an expected trade off.
It fits my palm security, the cutouts line up perfectly, and my wifi card seems to be held in place securely.
It is not a Coach, but it is only 23 bucks.
- Losing card.
     By A3QGRXXFAR174M on 2006-03-19
I believe that if someone, by accident, pushes the card side (which is open) against something, the extra card may come off and you won't notice. That's not something cheap to loose. So, the cases that folds towards the upper side will protect your card when the case is closed.
- PALM TX CASE
     By A3DVSORBIKYZSW on 2006-05-22
I WOULDN'T BUY AGAIN! WHEN CASE OPEN, TX SLIDES OUT. SD CARD POCKETS HAVE NO RETENTION AT ALL! CASE COVERS SCREEN EDGES. DON'T BUY.
- Nice case
     By A3QX56J411RR72 on 2006-11-14
I like the case. Good quality, nice leather outside, nice suede inside. Looks like I paid more that I did for it. The additional pockets on the inside are nice. I put am 8x11 folded piece of paper in the large pocket and have put receipts in the other pockets and it does not compromise the shape or closing of the case. Fits well in my purse. Looks nice when taking and using it in meetings. Slightly cushioned also makes it nice. Has a small pocket in the center crease for stylus (or additional one if you use the slot on the palm. I use my for my Palm T/X.
- Terrible Odor Hanging Over This Case
     By AHJN2GIYJQL32 on 2007-01-12
This case quite literally exudes a terrible odor. I'm not talking about the mild skunk tang of downmarket leather products. I'm talking about a full-frontal, putrid-polyetheline-meets-gangrenous-toe rot nasal assault. When I opened the packaging I found a seemingly petroleum-based foam pad between the front and back leather covers -- ostensibly a protective buffer inserted for shipping and shelving. The pad smelled horrible and its distinctive odor seems to have seeped into the leather of the case itself. I immediately threw away the pad, scrubbed my hands and said three Hail Marys. But two months later, the case still stinks to high heaven: a foul reek akin to toxic plastic from a child-labor employing factory in a third-world country ruled by a strong man dictator. (You know: that horrible smell of freshly unpacked Walmart products, only multiplied by 200, and then doused in a mixture of rancid tar and fermenting roadkill pelts.) I've tried damp-sponging the leather inside and out, but nothing has exorcised the unholy stench.
I'm not sure if my packaging was an exception to the rule (do all of these cases come with noxious-gas-emitting foam pads?), but I'd warn potential consumers against buying this stinker. Perhaps even more obnoxious than having to inhale the literal miasma the hangs over this product is having to listen to other people say, "Your Palm TX stinks on ice" or "Dude, my Pocket PC doesn't smell like a fetid tar pit."
- Does the job at a good price
     By A335JETTGXSFG8 on 2007-03-17
This is a good looking case that provides good protection for the T/X. I don't have any problem with the fit. Plugs etc are accessible. A few complaints:
1. Hard for headphone jacks to fit flush to the TX so I only get "mono" instead of stereo
2. Have to take the palm out of the case, to properly connect it to power and sync cables. I think #1 and #2 here likely have something to do with the contours of the TX also.
3. The slot that I assume is to be used to hold an extra stylus will not hold one securely, so I don't use it
4. I would like the closure tab to be leather for added durability.
Having said all this, it does look nice and it protects the palm with minimum inconvenience.
- poorest of the leather cases yet.....
     By A1XUKNGLF5W8PQ on 2005-05-27
This is the fourth or fifth Palm branded leather case I've purchased over the years, and probably the worst design and quality. The SD card slots do not hold the cards, particularly the WiFi card which would continually fall out; additionally there is no cover for them as in past models. The "quality suede" interior and fastener do not fit my definition of "quality," looking rather like something at your local dollar store. Fit is not good and cut-out for connectors is off center in miine. Best case I ever bought from Palm was for one of the original black and white PDAs and quality and design seems to have gone down hill with every further purchase. I'll be buying something else....
- Doesn't Fit the Palm TX
     By A32TMMFLO4M1EV on 2006-01-15
Despite claims from Palm, (and Amazon's search engine, which spits this case out when you search for "palm TX case") this case doesn't fit the Palm TX. It obstructs the top part of the screen, where all the important menu info is for many programs.
The case itself seems fine, but for the TX, it's a bust. I'm returning mine.
- Useless
     By A3F9BQFKQ8L22B on 2005-04-22
Not quite as useless as the half flip cover provided as standard equipment but I wore out my IBM Palm C3 before upgrading to a T5 and I'm very diappointed that the T5 doesn't come with a leather "flip" case like the C3. A flip case allows users to plug into their desk top USB cradles without removing the Palm from the case; this is impossible with the T5 leather case. I returned my 'genuine' T5 leather case on day 2 and for now hope my little half leather flip will protect my Palm until I discover a decent leather case that is desktop USB friendly. HELLO anybody at Palm listening?????
- 3176WW Leather Case for the PalmOne Tungsten T5
     By A2H1H3TU5PCCV8 on 2005-10-12
A rugged, compact, and functional leather case. The Palm fits perfectly inside the slide-in pocket. Open on top and bottom allowing easy access to all buttons, memory card, headphone jack, stylus, and USB/power connector. The cut-out for the Palm screen is large and unobstructing. Inside side pockets perfect for storing extra memory, Wi-Fi adapter, or even credit cards. Button snap makes it easy to open or close the case with one hand. Feels like it is made to last a long time.
- Quality case
     By A25E5PJZHXVK8S on 2005-10-17
I have enjoyed this case so far. It is a very good case. It fits very well. I reccomend using Palm brand cases becuase they fit perfectly. The case is just big enough for the unit as opposed to other cases which are much larger than the unit and create more bulkiness than necessary. I can leave the unit in the case and still hook it up to sync and re-charge. Pockets are large enough for some small items. Works very well.
- Does NOT fit a Palm TX
     By AQE06NZT4XADN on 2007-07-26
I bought this case because it was supposed to fit a TX-but it really does not. The screen is cut off at the top and you have to take the entire PDA out to access menus or anything at the top of the screen. It also gets very loose over time, which means the PDA won't stay snug in the case and it can slip right out the top.
- A wise investment for your T5
     By A1OEGRWVAUFBJW on 2005-09-07
The case is sturdy, provides protection, easy access to various SDIO cards, and even has a small pouch in the inside spine for your pick. A worthwhile investment.
- Great! But a little over-priced.
     By A2DO7WYLKZD6RH on 2005-12-18
I bought this for my Palm TX.
Pro's: Fit/Finish is superb. Doesn't obstruct ports. Superior protection to the hard case and leather flap that came with the unit. Pockets for receipts, SD cards, and Business/Credit cards.
Easy to remove the unit from the case for unhindered use.
Con's: Price. And this is a biggie. At $40 I'd say look elsewhere and give it two stars. I managed to get it direct from Palm for $30 with free overnight shipping, but even then I'd say it's really worth $25 at most, hence the 4 star rating of an otherwise great product.
- Look elsewhere
     By A2H4ERXMGLGEBQ on 2007-02-14
Although well-assembled and good-looking, I cannot seem to get my Palm TX to fit in this case. No matter what I try, the top of the screen is always covered, and I end up taking the unit out each time I want to use it, which is (of course) what I wanted to avoid. I would look elsewhere for another case.
- Its doing the job.
     By A2XAPCNN4COGXE on 2005-08-03
I really like this PDA cover. It is snug and holds the PDA well. It is fairly small and light. The only thing is that it is leather and it does scratch. I do recommend this case.
- Good Case - small flaw...
     By AGK9YXXLUZOHR on 2006-01-29
This in light of not covering the top and the bottem, its a really nice case. I wouldn't use it as a stand alone, as this is something you will really want to put into a briefcase or some kind of bag. The dirt can get into the dockting pins.
Do not use the storage inside of the case, because you will only be pushing it straight into your screen when closing it. I heard some people beaking their screens. Its a nice case, no storage, but its not good for the straight out enviroment.
- Works good
     By A15DIGZFG0E920 on 2006-03-09
Sticks out of the top a little at first. Once the leather softens though fit sgreat.
- This is okay....
     By A1W1D21NKBABPJ on 2007-03-09
After checking with all the reviews on Amazon for this case for my Palm T/X, I purchased it with reservations. However, it is fine. Fits well. Opens completely. And the price is right. The only drawback is that the palm can partially slide out of the case if held upside down. I just make it a point to put it in my labcoat pocket the right way.
- TOO BULKY
     By ADMX21PKXL6V9 on 2007-04-30
HIGH quality leather. Very nice craftsmanship....It was just too bulky for my front shirt pocket....I gave it to my dad, and he loves it...but then again, he is not putting it in his front pocket.
- Disappointed
     By A16ONSYO4C5WGG on 2007-08-24
Ithought that when bought this case it would be the best but it turned out to be a disappointment. My TX slides back and forth , the case is approx 10 months old and the front snap is broken. Now I own a piece of junk. Looking to replace it with a flip type case that hopefully will give a snug fit. Also the card compartments allow the card to protude and that scratches the pscreen, luckily I have a protector on it that I changed twice already in 10 months.
- Good Product
     By A61GJ0VRGAL0L on 2007-03-12
Very satisfied with this product. Delivery was prompt, product was as avertised. Thank you
- Pretty good
     By A29PTGOY4HW6KI on 2007-04-06
I like this case especially the pockets on the other side. My only problem is that the pda wants to slide out a bit when I'm holding it on the move.
