Great addition to my Palm Treo-650 uber-cellphone! By A1U5WAWSCQLKEW on 2005-08-09
2 gigs really gives my Treo-650 room for a lot of MP3's and MMPlayer movies. Up to 8 full-length movies on a single SD card! I had to buy CardExport (turns the Treo-650 into a fancy SD to USB card adapter) because all of my existing SD to USB adapters couldn't correctly handle the big card. Now I can hardly wait for even bigger SD cards to come out!
***BE WARNED THAT NOT ALL DEVICES AND SD TO USB ADAPTERS CAN HANDLE THIS BIG CARD. CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR DEVICE BEFORE BUYING!!***
"Memory Card Error".... By A13EWOGEU8VI3C on 2005-10-13
I used this card in a Canon SD500. Got in about 2 dozen shots and the card locked up compeletly. Can't even access with a card reader. Sandisk is replacing the card, but it concerns me that it will happen again.
D-Fective By A1FR68QH6Z4YZM on 2006-01-07
Do NOT get this model. Look at the reviews...plenty of errors with this card, lots of lost data. I can't get it to retain data without errors. Instead, get the SanDisk Ultra III 2GB card, which is the perfected version. SanDisk is a good producer of memory cards, but you should only get their top-of-the-line Ultra III cards.
I lost too many pictures with this card By A24NG6OJPVE7QB on 2006-01-24
I use this card with a Canon SD-550. It was fine for the first couple of months but it's been having all sorts of problems lately. One out of every five shots comes out missing data and corrupted. I cannot recommend this card, however, I've used other Sandisk sd and cf cards and they've been excellent.
Brian By AH2XE7PDSFV9H on 2005-07-15
Used it with my new Canon SD400. Stopped working after 100 pictures. Now it is completely locked in both the camera and my external card reader.
- Card works great
     By A2GKQK84VKF44A on 2006-06-01
I've been using this card since September 2005 (9 months so far) in my Canon Powershot S2IS. I'm almost to 10,000 photos taken in all types of weather/climates, from the salty sea air at the beach to the dry air of the desert; freezing winter, light rain and heatwaves.
My honest opinion is that this is a good card and I believe the rating here is the result of a vocal minority with defective cards (defects happen in electronics). People are quick to post complaints but hardly ever success stories. Just keep this in mind when reading these reviews.
- Great but watch out for these reasons
     By A26KEJ9V28WMUX on 2006-10-02
After reading how many people had problems I checked further. According to info from a forum at dpreview, these fast cards will fit, but not function properly on all cameras- you must check Sandisks web site for compatibility. Also, these fast cards need a card reader that has ESP capacity- A Sandisk description- for fast parallel processing- some card readers will corrupt files if they do not have this feature. You would think Sandisk would have a warning on the card packaging.
- DEFECTIVE
     By A1A5B997M1OO3W on 2005-07-22
I bought this card and it arrived as an un opened new package. That was the end of the happy story. It was defective and it couldn't be read at all in any camera, PDA or memory card reader. Windows XP reported that it can't format this drive when tried to format it with FAT32/FAT or NTFS. Strangely enough it was read by Windows as a 4GB drive instead of a 2GB.
Don't buy, it seems it is part of a defective bulk. I have the 1GB version and it works fine (at least until now!).
- Big storage
     By A3IL7V7KU934X9 on 2005-09-07
This item is great, but u have to be careful, It might not work with every product. I have IPAQ 3975, i bought it for my IPAQ, at first it didnt work, but after updating the ROM from (2.0) to (2.10)it is working fine. So be careful with this product cause you may need updates for your product to use this SD Card.

- Great card for Canon S80
     By AHLYPNMRTEG6E on 2006-06-03
I've heard people having problems with this card using older cameras and readers. I've taken 3500 pictures with my Canon Powershot S80 and have never had a problem. I download my pictures using a Lexar 7 in 1 reader. I never use the camera software since it's half-baked and designed for newbies who lack access to Photoshop, it's browser or the bridge.
Before deciding not to benefit from the extra space this 2gb card offers, check your camera manufacturer's site to see if your camera is compatible. Most older camera's and readers will not work with this card and those that do, usually require you to format the card in-camera before you use it.
Great storage space for vacations. I might need to get a second card.
- Nothing but trouble
     By A2XYD6IYB2AFJY on 2006-04-18
This card did not work at all in my new panasonic lumex dmc-fz7 & only sometimes in my canon sd-450. Memory card error & card corrupt kept coming up. Formating & reformating did not help.
- This card has problems
     By A1YJPIHIC7FG09 on 2006-05-14
I have used Sandisk Ultra 1GB card for my Canon S2 IS camera earlier, but needed more space. Inspite of some poor ratings, I bought the Sandisk Ultra 2GB (and not the 2GB Extreme which I was planning to). Though I CAN view all the photos I copied from the camera to my PC, Ringo Uploader won't upload all of them, there are some (around 50%) "BAD FILES", which means I'll have to upload them manually. Yeah, manually uploading works, so the software that verifies whether the file is okay, is giving the error. Bottomline is: this card does not work as seamless as the 1GB Ultra card. I will not recommend this product. Try other cards out there.
- This card has PROBLEM
     By A2OJ37PDL0V5XQ on 2006-05-30
I have a kodak Z760 and after one mons of use I have founded a lot of problem, some date this card function very well some date no. Sometime I've had corrupt files in my camera. I don't recomend this card for use in a Kodak Z760.
- Too many defects
     By ACU78WL9M0JVI on 2006-09-07
I have bought SanDisk products in the past, and I was happy with them. However, this time I got a defective memory card right off the package, and its replacement was defective as well! It's highly unlikely for two out of two cards to be defective. I tried them in three different devices, all of them functioning perfectly well, and I know the defect was in the memory card. I amd disappointed this particular model of SanDisk has such quality problems. :(
- Works Great
     By A3KF6320E5FPH3 on 2006-09-16
I have the new Canon S3 IS camera, and this works great. I have 2 of these 2GB ones as well as a 1gb, and took tons of pics and videos, never a problem and they are fast!
- Great
     By AHKP4NCPPCDTD on 2006-04-04
Holds 800 pictures in the 5 megapixel Panasonic DMC-LZ2. I took a eight pictures one after another. I asked Panasonic about whether a fast speed (20 MB/s) card would perform better. Panasonic said I probably wouldn't notice a performance difference using a faster speed card like the Extreme. So, the Ultra gives the best bang for the buck in the Sandisk line.
I went with the 2 GB card so my better half doesn't have to change cards on her trip. I own several Sandisk Compact Flash cards, which have never hiccuped.
- SanDisk 2GB Ultra II SD Card
     By A3UXNHNOVNNLNF on 2006-06-26
It does everything you expect it to do...not much else to say. I get consistent read rates of ~8MB/s when connected to my computer's USB 2.0 hub for picture uploading. It works great with my Nikon D50 camera.
- Great Price for a Great Product
     By A2B054CT1RWR06 on 2007-01-26
I currently have the Ultra II 1 GB and it has worked flawlessly on my camera. (Canon SD550). The speed by which it writes/saves is incredible. I am generally snapping more pictures than my friends due to the quick load time. I am upgrading to the 2 GB because it is half the price I paid for the 1 GB. I have yet to fill up the 1 GB and most likely I won't fill up the 2 GB, but I can't pass up the price.
- sanDisk SD ultra II 512
     By A171DAAN17D4CL on 2006-08-01
Causing problems since the first day. Additionally I even needed to byu a photo recovery software. Now I have a "bad track 0", so I can not format it. Useless!!!!
- The Ultra II is fast between snaps
     By AVZ476POPDOOM on 2006-11-10
I am using this SD card and in my canon SD 600 and the time lapse between two consecutive shots are really fast. Its really worth to have a 2GB Ultra card ...it allows to take over 800 snaps in the highest resolution.
You can use your camera continuously for weeks
- Great for TomTom
     By A1EBHKTUROXFJB on 2006-05-07
I have used the card now for two month without any problems.
I have TomTom 5 navigation installed with all the maps. My Pocket PC is Dell Axim 51v and the match is just perfect.
- Compatibility Problems
     By AS1PJN3NVIHA9 on 2006-08-29
I have a one year old Sony desktop and the 2GB SanDisk Ultra II SD card is not recognizable by it. The card works well in the camera but NOT in my computer. Apparently you SHOULD NOT BUY this product if your computer is more than a year old.
- perfect
     By A1DGZB0WMU78Q7 on 2006-11-12
used it with my Nikon D80 and works perfectly. I copied the photos from the camera and as it supports USB 2.0 it copies very fast.
If using from a card reader you have to make sure your card reader supports 2GB cards.
- Works with Panasonic Lumix FX01 Digital Camera
     By A30N90SF3J3ZY5 on 2006-11-17
For those that are purchasing this card for the Panasonic Lumix FX01 Digital Camera, rest assured that the card works perfectly. I've been using it since I purchased my camera many months ago and I've never had a single problem with it.
Given that I only use the card in my camera and it worked perfectly, I have absolutely no complaints. I cannot comment on whether the card works with other camera models or media readers. Please be sure to research this product to be sure it works with your device before making a blind purchase.
- 2 GB High Speed SD Card
     By A8HG9G52SS2TQ on 2007-01-10
I have several of these for my SLR camera. They function as expected and have a faster save time when I am shooting repeating shots. It will almost keep up with the camera at 3 shots/sec. After about 30 shots in RAW format, the camera slows down. My buffer will only hold about 12 shots so the card is only slightly slower than my camera can feed the photos.
- nice and fast
     By AKI79JNK7EFJY on 2007-03-15
This card really is faster in my camera, the Canon Powershot SD450. Definite speed difference, noticed between shots and also when erasing photos. Suggest that you remember to turn off "picture review" if you really want to zoom from one shot to the next.
Canon advises reformating every new memory card before use, which I did, although this card worked fine out of the box.
Also suggest to check with your product regarding the maximum size and speed for your prospective memory card purchase. For my camera, 2 gig is the limit, and some of the new super-fast formats won't work.
- I hate this card!
     By A3BBSXHC17C5BE on 2007-03-31
I bought this card because I only had two smaller cards for my camera - a Canon card and a Kodak card. Everytime I put those cards into my reader, it reads them on the first try. This one I have to remove and reinsert 6-15 times every time I want to download my photos! It's a SanDisk reader. I contacted them and they're suppsed to replace it, but their customer service sucks. I'm thinking about returning it and trying a different brand.
- great memory, great price
     By A2P5GUVHVYCA0H on 2007-07-02
I got this SD memory for use with a Canon PowerShot SD800 IS camera.
The memory worked just like it should, great speed and space for pictures and videos from the camera.
Highly recommended
- useless
     By A2B0F2UCIIL59H on 2007-07-04
I purchased the SanDisk Ultra II Secure Digital Card to use in my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 camera because it was supposed to be much better than a regular SD card. Much faster transfer speed than standard card.
It is incompatible with this camera. I also couldn't get either my home pc or laptop to format the card. SanDisk techinical support basically said that they were sorry. Too bad! Nothing we can do about it.
Avoid the SanDisk 2GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card if you have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 camera.
- Tiny film
     By A3MMJEMXBJOJ8H on 2007-12-18
I ordered this along with a Nikon D40 from Amazon. Nikon recommends SanDisk and the 2 GB size seemed like enough. Some recommend the newer III version, but this was readily available and I thought it would be more than sufficient.
SD cards are tiny, the size of a small postage stamp, and yet can hold hundreds of photos. Amazing digital film. Someday, computers will replace their spinning disks with this sort of memory and that will be a good thing.
The first function of a memory card is to not fail. If it does, all your photos go away and your expensive camera will be worthless. There also can be errors that prevent things from working and make you crazy. So far, no failures or errors.
After that, there are issues with speed. Modern digital cameras, especially the DSLRs, take a lot of photos fast and there is a lot of data that has to be stuffed quickly into the card so as to not slow things down. I have not noticed any bottlenecks, even when shooting rapid fire. Same goes when downloading. Nothing bad noticed there, either.
The 2 GB card holds over 500 photos at the Large and Fine full 6.1 MP setting in my camera, according to the screen info. I haven't maxed out the card, so that may not be totally accurate. Your mileage may vary depending on the MPs you use and other settings.
Some knowledgable photographers use the smaller settings like Normal, instead of Fine, because they can take more photos on a card. They say nobody can see any difference in quality. I like the idea of using all the pixels I paid for.
With any card, it is a good idea to format after every session (after safely downloading your photos first!). This prevents errors in many cases and also frees up all the memory you paid for and thus the camera that you really paid for.
Finally, even though your card may been just fine for a long time, you should know that if you go on that exotic vacation it will fail the first day. It is recommended that you get a spare if you are doing important stuff or if you will be taking zillions of photos.
