  • Large, Fast, Relatively Inexpensive

    By AGXV8E7XK9J6H on 2006-04-30
This card can hold up to about 1500 8 megapixel jpgs (give or take) which is usually more than I need in a single day. I also have three 1 gig Ultra II's and have noticed that they seem to be faster than the 4 gig version...but I usually don't need more than 9 pictures of an event in less than 5 seconds anyway, so this has not caused too much trouble. I have taken about 5,000-6,000 pictures on this card so far without any problems, other than running low on hard drive space because I end up taking more pictures due to this cards large size. So if speed is your main concern I recommend buying a few 1 gig cards or even moving up to an Extreme III, but other than that this card is a very good size for the cost and gets the job done.

  • Died after 4 months

    By A2576M6HX3F6QE on 2006-07-11
This seemed like a great card at a great price. Unfortunately after 4 months, during the middle of a paid shoot, all of the images instantly dissappeared. I stopped using the card, put it aside until I got home. I tried to use software to recover the images. Only a few could be recovered, the rest were gone. I've not been able to re-format the card in either a canon eos 5d, digital rebel, or using software on my computer. The card is now completely un-usable.

All of my older cards continue to work just fine. Hopefully this is just a lemon, although I need to replace it, and am obviously apprehensive about purchasing another one from Sandisk.

  • Mine died too....

    By A3AF8NUJUVEWRJ on 2006-07-19
I bought this in April for my new Canon 30D and it worked great until several months ago. When I would go back to scroll through the recently taken pictures on my camera it would start saying "Data Corrupted". It started out slowly then it would lose every third picture. I tried to reformat the card and got an error message. Now my camera does not recognize it nor does the camera software on my computer. It was a wonderful card while it lasted but I too am hesitate to get another one. Hopefully mine was a lemon too.....but then again.

  • batch problem...

    By A3MOT34UE7PPY6 on 2006-11-27
Normally I really like Sandisk CF cards. I have an Ultra II 1 gig that has performed flawlessly for over a year. I just recently purchased 2 of the 4 gig cards for an upcoming trip.

To preface I've had digital cameras for years. As far as digital SLR's I've had the orginal DRebel, 2 20D's and 2 30D's.. as well as a Nikon D50. I'm not a novice when it comes to these and to the cards they take.

Upon arrival of the 4 gig cards I put them in to check them. Both produced Err 99 on the Canon 30D's... as well as the Canon 20 D's. The only way around that Err 99 was to format BOTH CF cards on my computer .. and only then did they work in the cameras.

I have NEVER had to format an card before first time use in any of my cameras (including the other 2 4 gig cards that I own).

The cards are being sent back to where I got them, and I'm purchasing cards from a different vendor (and the Ultra III). It's my belief that it could be a batch problem .. as I am hearing others complain of this issue over the last month.

If you experience this problem, return them IMMEDIATELY to the vendor that you purchased it from. While reformatting them on your computer will work, there's a fairly good chance that the card could fail down the road.

  • Great, but...

    By A3G4IFW93G8H4B on 2007-01-03
I love the quality and speed of SanDisk cards. Nevertheless I must confess, after having an Extreme card, you do feel the difference, while browsing through the pics in the camera... I believe it's worth to pay the difference for an Extreme one. In all other matters, great product, reasonable speed (while taking / processing pictures) and good speed for transfering photos to the computer.

  • Excellent Card
    By A1XINNG3IMIBSR on 2006-04-23
Works well with Canon 10D, 30D, and S40. Fairly fast write speed. And 4GB - pretty big (1600 JPGs in the 30D!).

  • SanDisk Ultra Hight Performance 4GB CF card
    By A23MLVY0TEKT3G on 2006-07-30
This card worked flawlessly - with great capture speed. I recently went on vacation and took in excess of 400 fine Jpeg shots. No need to bring a computer to download to.

  • Good storage card
    By AO7SNE5HQ43HI on 2007-05-07
This card works well with my Canon Rebel XTI. It is the fatest recommended card and on the best jpg setting stores about 900 pictures.

  • I Own 5
    By A3J5DE0SFO2R2K on 2006-09-15
I own five of these. The first one I bought at least a year and a half ago, maybe two. Not a problem with any of them, ever. They're fast and at a good price point. If you do any kind of action photography where your camera's buffer comes into play it's worth the extra money to buy a card that will read and write faster.

  • Will Buy More
    By A1CYQH3WEVZXUK on 2007-01-02
Very reliable card. I've used it countless times and have never had any errors. All the space comes in super handy when working with raw files. This alone makes it well worth the extra cost.

The price itself is an added wonder, especially considering these babies went for over a thousand dollars just two years ago.

  • Great Card - with a warning
    By A1WMLRHGGSUR3L on 2007-07-18
I used this card for over a year with no problem, deleting all the images on it with my computer numerous times without a problem. Until recently. I deleted the images from my computer, was able to take two photos, then got the change notice on my Nikon D70. I reformatted the card on the camera, but it's still unusable.

It's a great card, delete on your computer at your own risk.

  • Big, but not very fast
    By AYFQ5C9RBYJL3 on 2007-05-15
This card works fine, and yeah 4GB is huge. BUT, it's noticeably slower than my generic PNY 2GB card. When shooting JPGs continuously at 5FPS on my 30D, this card can only take about 10-15 frames before the framerate slows down. My 2GB card will do... 40!?

  • Sold Memory
    By A1NDDPAEUBS661 on 2007-05-25
Fast, reliable memory. Had no problem with it. I Have been using it since march 2007. In a Canon Rebel Xti (10Mpx) it gives me about 800+ Shots.

  • Goodbye to those lack-of-memory blues!
    By A4OA79PP9L3BL on 2007-05-14
Very pleased with the Sandisk ULTRA II 4Gb CF card. On a recent trip I took well over 700 pictures, all in high (Not RAW) quality, and was nowhere near running out of space. The high speed transfer rate also means that I can shoot long series of pictures (approx. 20 pictures/series) continuously without having to wait for the memory card to be ready.
The only downsides I can think of are that due to the size of the card, the computer takes a long time to scan the card for new images. Not a problem as such, but something one should be aware of. The other snag is that as the card is so big, I no longer divide my shots between several memory cards. Thus all my pictures are lost if I loose the memory card, instead of having the saftey of several memory cards, where only some pictures are lost if a memory card goes missing.

  • Great cards
    By A1PQDR6BYWTX77 on 2007-08-09
I use these for wedding photography. Fast and reliable.

I am able to store ~420+ Raw files on this card from a 20D. Highly recommended!

  • All the Room I Need
    By A2HBU8J60XEQE on 2007-08-28
I had purchased this 4GB card because I was going on vacation for 2 weeks and there would be an entire week in there that I would be away from a computer and thus unable to download my memories into some other receptical. and have been known to shoot well over 300 pix a day. It performed loverly. I had more than enough room to shoot 830 pics at the highest res. Recommend it.

  • Not what is advertised
    By A1T3OEF1XPVH8Y on 2007-09-25
In general, I will give this Sandisk product a 5-star ***** rating.
BUT, this specific product is not as good as advertised. The Amazon
web page states that is product works will all Type 1 Compact Flash
digital cameras. IT DOES NOT ! I have a Nikon Coolpix 3100,
and it does not recognize that CF card. It asks you if you want to
format it, and then once it does, it states that it is out of memory.
You cannot take a picture with it installed in the camera. Nikon
states that the camera can use Type 1 CF cards of 512 MB and maybe 1 GB.
Well, I have been able to use Sandisk Type 1 512 MB, and 2 GB Ultra II
CF cards with no problem, but it cannot handle the 4 GB Ultra II Type 1
CF card. Sandisk's Ultra II 4 GB card is a fine product: my Compaq
laptop sees it as a 4 GB (minus formatting) HD just fine when I install
it in the PCMCIA slot. The problem here is that the digital camera cannot
recogize this size CF card, but the web page description says that it
works in ALL Type 1 CF card digital cameras.

  • Camera Memory
    By A2WYIL2U9PT105 on 2007-01-11
I was a little nervous that the memory would work on the camera, but everything was fine. Shipping was fast and the price was great - I couldn't even find a place locally with this large amount of memory. I am very happy.

  • 4GB is a whole lot of pictures
    By AUJYK8E3BTN5I on 2007-08-30
I just got a Canon digital camera and bought this 4GB memory card. On my first outing with the new camera I took 190 pictures, full size, highest resolution and didn't even use a full GB of memory. I couldn't believe the capacity.

  • So far so good
    By A37RFH75QJ33GW on 2007-12-09
So far this has been a great card for me. I shoot in RAW and can cram like 200 shots onto the card. It is a tad slower than my Extreme III cards, but since it cost less, I am OK with that.

  • Great card
    By A1FL9ZIRIPN12H on 2008-01-25
I've bought 2 of these little monsters, and both work perfectly with my Canon 40D. They're in and out of 3 different card readers day in and day out, and they haven't skipped a beat yet. Data transfer is crazy fast, and I could only be happier if they baked me chocolate pie.

  • Perfect Gadget Gift!
    By AA5Z1QSWUAPN9 on 2006-12-29
My husband was shocked and pleased when I remembered that he had been wanting a larger storage card for his PDA (to use as a GPS). He has said that it is extremely fast and convenient. Highly recommended, and at a GREAT price!

  • Working as advertised
    By A1IK4WRHHU3VLO on 2007-03-09
I have been using this product for a month now and it is working as advertised. Seems to be a great value.

  • SanDisk Ultra II
    By A1VTSDHH3RWLD8 on 2007-04-04
If you are like me, you like to have extra storage cards availiable. A Few years ago this would have cost $400. Since the price has gone down, it's worth getting a 4GB vs a 2GB. I never had a problem with SanDisk cards and the Ultra II is faster then many others. I see the Ultra IV cards now are availiable with FireWire Readers. I think I will wait until the price drops for them. Bill K

  • Fantastic
    By A18MQL8ET2FAS5 on 2007-06-27
Using this with my Canon EOS 300D I am able to go out shooting without worriying about running out of space, and I can shoot in the High Res. RAW format giving me high quality/detail photo's that I like.

  • Too satisfied
    By A2IWE6FIT5I97R on 2007-09-13
I bought this memory card to use it with a Canon Rebel XTi. I think that this size is the perfect size: more would take too much time to copy on HDD, less would mean fewer pictures.
I haven't noticed any speed problems, the combination of the camera and the card assures the enough number of photos on the running mode.
The problem that I have right now is that I need space to download the photos from the card. Also, it MUST be used with an usb card reader 2.0 because using an 1.1 will take alot of time for the copying.

  • Fast card for my DSLR
    By A2R5TGI1ZJETUA on 2007-11-22
Bought this for my Canon Rebel XTi DSLR and it's working great. great performace and price, can't go wrong here!

  • Mostly Canon Issues with the card
    By A3ENZ7VIHUV383 on 2007-12-12
Mostly Canon with the memory access problems.
Anyway for cards this large one should not continously delete as not deleating will force use of the rest of the memory space. Full delete for large shoots, raw formats, and trips.
Flash memory does have a FINITE number of times the cells can be modified.
Resulting in corrupted data hard errors.

  • Wrong interface
    By A3D8REHCC5TLM2 on 2008-01-16
The device probably works fine. This is a review of the service after the sale. This is NOT the card for the D80. Don't be fooled by the amazon selling pitch "those who bought...also bought...". I was fooled into thinking this was the card that goes with the Nikon D80 camera. The seller, Blue Proton only has a 15 day return policy. Very poor. After I realized it, it was too late to return it. And it was shipped without a receipt or return paper work. Nothing. Lesson: always read the return policy of the seller, in this case, Blue Proton.

  • well...
    By AHJROFU034QT9 on 2008-02-15
ok. here's the thing. this is a MEMORY CARD. a big one at that. it holds stuff. kind of like what you expected it to. you will not run out of space unless you are holding down the button on your camera for a long time. if you never want to have to change your memory card in the middle of a carnival, or somewhere where you think you are going to lose something, buy this and be done with it.
