• Comfortable Headset/Mic with great sound

  Excellent sound from the built in DSP - Almost as good as my 5.1 surround speaker setup. Crystal clear reception from the mic on the other end based on feedback from others in-game while listening to me talk. Headset cord length more than adequate. Very comfortable ear foam - even after hours of gameplay.
  
  Some people have reviewed this item and claim to have had trouble with this headset. Specifically, they can hear sound fine, but the mic seems not work in games but works fine in windows. This is just plain false - the same thing happened to me initially. This is a USB headset and you have to realize that most games are designed to search for your sound card or mobo's default mic as opposed to the headset's mic. The reason being, that many people like to have a separate mic only for talking but want to hear the game sound on their PC speakers. Obviously, if you are reading this, you probably want an integrated solution like I did.
  
  Here is how to fix this: Go into Control Panel / Sounds & Audio Devices. On BOTH the Audio and Voice Tabs for the Sound Recording and Voice Recording menus, respectively, you need to UNCHECK the Microphone and Line-In boxes on the Properties tab for your sound card or mobo's onboard audio. This will force the game you are playing to then default to the next available mic which will be on your Plantronics headset, and you will be golden! By the way, I informed Plantronics of this fix because they were unable to help me (but their customer service is top notch, FYI).

  I am an avid online FPS gamer and needed a good headset with a great mic. This one fit the bill perfectly! The DSP feature is outstanding. I don't waste mony on expensive computer speaker sets (I rather spend it on Hoem Theater speakers) but I know quality when I hear it. The soundqaulity on the GameCom Pro 1 is excellent. I can enable all the 5.1 channel effects in my games and the DSP take care of the rest. This is also true for watching DVDs and listening to music. True aduiophiles will enjoy the quality of this headset. It is also relatively comfortable if you are going to be using for extended periods. I've worn it up to six hours at a single stretch and it sill feels comfortable on my head and against my ears.
  
  Players report that my mic is clear and crisp and very little white noise filters in. The adjustable mic boom places it exactly where I want it and doesn't shift or fall over time.
  
  IMO, you can't buy a better gaming headset than this. Incidentally, I bought an extra one I was so pleased with the first.

  Here's a quick money saving tip. I bought these to replace my dying Plantronics DSP 500's. I contacted plantronics and they indicated that the GameComPro 1 is the exact same headset as the DSP 500, just with a different silver paint job. No enhancements, no updates, same exact set.
  Save yourself some money and go with the DSP 500's. You can get them on clearance at http://www.plantronics.com/clearance for about half the price of the GameComPro 1's. Both are fantastic headsets.

  I ordered the headset from Techdepot (Office Depot) through Amazon. The headset was available at www.techdepot.com or through Amazon.com. Ordering through Amazon was cheaper, even though it actually came from Techdepot.
  
  The headset sound is good, and my friends tell me the mic works well.
  
  The headset is a USB headset. I had not used a USB headset before and had not considered that when I plug in the headset it would alter the settings on my PC. Unlike a "normal" headset with a mic in and audio out jack, when you plug in or unplug a USB headset, you may find that you have to change the settings in your audio properties or have to start or restart your program before the headset will work. This is a bit of an annoiance. Except for this issue, the headset works great and sounds great. Just consider that you need to plug it in before you start your game or communication program.

  I tried the logitech usb 300 headset before I purchased this one and I was not impressed. This headset not only works better but the microphone pickup is a lot more sensitive so you don't have to turn your mic volume up all the way.
  
  
• Great Headset

  I must say, this headset is pretty darn nice. I have had a few, but this one is great. Forgive the bulky-digital-converty-thingymabob that is attached to your cord.. it's actually not too bad. The headset fits nicely and boom mike moves around nicely (left side of head). The sound quality is great.
  
  The only drawback? ... I don't hear the little lady talkin' to me as much now ;-)

  La verdad es que este audífono no me gustó del todo. Me molesta en las orejas porque no me la cubre completa y luego de una hora aproximadamente me empieza a causar dolor en ellas.
  
  Tiene un bonito diseño, se escucha bien y me escuchan nítido y claro. Tengo problemas con el BF2, no he podido configurarlo en BF2, es una lástima :(

• Plantronics is the gamers choice

  I use this headset day in and day out for many hours at a time. Whether I'm on the net, listening to music or playing my favorite game, this headset can do it all very well. They are very comfortable and easy on my ears. They have GREAT sound quality with a good amount of bass for the low tones.
  The software that comes with the headset allows you to adjust anything you would want to, although it doesn't have very advanced adjustments for those that actually know what they are doing with audio, such as custom equalizer settings.
  Setup is easy enough with a simple USB plug. All you have to do is set the headset to be your default audio device in your systems audio device manager.
  I personally love this set. Previous to this set I had the same ones with the 35mm plugs instead of the USB. 35mm or USB, they are both excellent quality sets. I wouldn't buy anything other then the Plantronics GameCom series.

  I purchased this headset having spent hours pouring over reviews from multiple web-vendors. The headphones are the on-the-ear type, not around. It was difficult to discern in the photograph, but these are very comfortable, especially for extended periods of time. (2 hours or more) The 44mm speakers have excellent bass response (being an audiophile) which is critical in a setup so small. The noise cancelling microphone works very well for online gameplay but is also well suited for VOip. The only con would have to be the overly long(10 feet or so) cable, and the large digital processor that is inline, about 2 feet from the end. One thing that could go either way is, this headset is USB, therefore, Windows will disable your normal audio card while this headset is plugged in.

  I?ve had many types and brands of headsets and this is the best so far. The sound is incredible and everyone that has tried it just says: WAO! I tried it on music, multiplayer online games and movies and the performance is superb. Opposite to other similar models, the microphone included works excellent, with high sensitivity and crispy sound transmission. Definitely, this is a great headset.
  
  
• Surprisingly Good Sound

  I purchased this headset for voice recognition, I'm not a gamer, but I do listen to music, videos, etc. This thing has surprisingly transparent, well-balanced sound, almost as good as my 4x as expensive home stereophones. Why am I surprised? Because the build quality just doesn't inspire confidence. It is very lightweight, snap-together plastic, and I can't believe it sounds as good as it does. The upshot is that the ergonomics are also excellent; it is lightweight and comfortable to wear all day without fatigue. It will fall off if you shake your head hard or lean too far forward, but that's better than being too tight around your head (check reviews on some other USB headsets). Also the long cord is a mixed blessing; you WILL get it tangled around your foot/leg and yank the headset off your desk, and I suspect this is how most of these are broken.
  
  I've had this for 6 months and no regrets. Will I buy another one when it breaks? Perhaps, but I'll check out some pricier models with better build quality. Still, if this headset is in your price range, I think you'd be pleased with it's overall performance and ergonomics.

  These headphones are awesome. Microphone quality is fantastic, no one ever complains about my quality.
  
  The audio is also very good for gaming. The ONLY complaint I have is that the cable is constantly winding up on itself and getting twisted no matter what I do. I guess that's why it is so long...
  
  
  OH, and one key feature is the COMFORT. You could wear them for days without pain on your ears...something other sets can't touch.

  This headset works as advertised. The sound quality is as good as any i have heard. Plug n Play worked well with no setup hassles. If you don't have a fancy sound card this headset will make you think you do.

  This is a great headset. I was looking for one that was comfortable to someone who wears glasses and had top quality in sound and microphone performance for games. This headset fit the bill. Only downside to using it is if not plugged in when starting a program/game you have to exit that program/game, plug it in (USB) then restart the program/game. Works great with Ventrillo and Teamspeak.

  I use this for Skype-out, telemedicine research and music... and this product works very well for all three. It's comfortable (even with glasses), and I've worn it for hours without even noticing them. Sound quality (both the mic and the earphones) are very good.

  Sound is perfectly clear. On Skype and WoW I hear everything as clear and broadly spectrum as though I had little bose speakers taped to my head. No one has complained about not being able to hear me or the quality of my voice through the mic.
  
  Only con: the earpieces don't quite cover my ears, and after a 2+ hours if i'm wearing glasses my ears start to hurt.

• Comfortable, Clear Headset

  The first thing I noticed about these headphones is that they're very clear and crisp sounding. I listened to a bit of music even though I didn't buy them for that and was happy with the sound -- not a lot of bass, but all other frequencies are well represented with a leaning toward frequencies the human voice is at. The mic is adequate and doesn't pick up a lot of background noise. But what I really noticed is that after a few hours use my ears didn't feel pinched and sore. These are about the most comfortable pair of headphones I've used. They started causing fatigue a few days later though, but it turns out I had accidentally adjusted them. There's a plastic/rubber band that goes over the head instead of letting the plastic frame rest on the top of your head like pro headphones which relieves any pressure there. Last the headset boom is retractable and swivels up to the headphone frame which is very convenient to get it out of your way.
  
  All in all this headset is great. Well worth the price compared to other headsets I've tried.
  
  
• Weak and distorted sound from boom microphone

  The Plantronics GameCom pro1 headset was very comfortable with good sound from the earphones but a weak and distorted sound was reported by my friend from the microphone when using Skype. He had difficulty in understanding what I was saying.I would not recommend them. Maybe the set I have is faulty. I am returning them as unsatisfactory.

  Wow, is just about all i can say. Plug and play, great microphone sound quality, music quality when played through these is just phenomenal! I love everything about these headphones. If you are worried about sound quality, have no qualms, this headset is just perfect! These things are also so comfortable. I've worn them for countless hours on end and i sometimes forget they are even on my head... they are that comfortable.

  I use this product for dictation and not for gaming and I have to tell you, I'm absolutely in heaven. Great sound quality. It does a wonderful job of noise canceling. I now don't have to turn everything off in the house before doing dictation. Highly Recommended.

  This headset is very good, the sterio works well and the microphone is very sensitive and responsive. The Mic is also adjustable. It has a volume control and mute control on the wire and you can clip the control to your clothing for quick access. I have been very pleased with this unit and would recommend it for purchase.   I bought this headset for my husband for Christmas so I've only been able to use it a few times, but it was easy to set up and he absolutely loves it. It's comfortable the microphone is crystal clear over Ventrillo and the headset itself is really comfortable. Can't go wrong for the price. It seems durable enough but we haven't really had it long enough to say.
  
  Plantronics is a favorite headset brand of ours. I highly recommend you try it!

  I read reviews on 10-12 different headsets. This Plantronics unit seemed to be a good deal, but I was concerned about some reviewer's comments on difficult setup.
  
  I got the headset for my 13 year old daughter to talk to her friends on World of Warcraft which she has been playing for the past two years. When it arrived, she couldn't wait to "plug it in", I told her to wait until I could set it up for her. A few minutes later she told me..."You don't have to do anything...I already have it working". She's happy, I'm happy.

  After trying other headsets, I find this Plantronics GameComPro1 headset to be the most comfortable on my head delivering very good gaming sound as well as clear mic voice. This is my second set as I sat on the first one that I had. The cord is nice and long and the adjustable mic makes it easy for most size heads.. I believe it is a good value.

  I had the previous model of this headset for several years... had no issues with it, except I kept running the cord over with the chair... one too many times it would seem. This one is under a different name and works just as good... audio is great, microphone picks up what it needs. Plugged it in and Windows knew installed the required drivers and I was up and running.
