  • Good price for a sturdy product

    By A2A60Y2HTOTNSX on 2006-08-13
I bought this item to use as a chair replacement, which means it likely gets used more often than if for exercise. I bought this items a month ago and have used it almost daily since. To date I have not had to reinflate the ball and it has been sturdy and comfortable. The enclosed pump didn't inspire a lot of confidence but actually worked just fine, and given the fact that it may not require a lot of use, should be suitable for the life of the ball.

  • 100% Integrity

    By A3RR56B6FGHYLZ on 2007-01-19
I had a shipping problem with my ball, and I also ended up with the wrong size. Max Fitness went the extra mile and met all of my needs with 100% integrity. They were pro-active and gracious.

I also love the ball. One qualification for those of you considering getting a ball. The size of the ball may depend on not only your height but what you are using it for. In my case, I'm 6' tall and I use the ball to do Core Exercises as taught by Gunnar Peterson and the 65 cm ball is definately too small for me. The 75 cm ball works for me, and I'm completely satisfied both with it's quality and the excellent service I received from Max Fitness in the process.

You can't go wrong with these folks.

  • works great

    By A3H53FLR4JOQ3A on 2007-07-19
just as described, works great, bigger than it looks at first. plastic smell goes away after you leave it in the shower under hot water for 10-15 minutes

  • good training aid

    By AQGV486Y0DAJG on 2005-10-14
the ball was very useful in my home training and gave good support to my lower back for all exercises. i like the ball training method too.

  • good product but...

    By AEOPDKDRUDQQU on 2007-01-11
I like this ball now that I have it set up- it's great for stretching and even as a chair. However, when it arrived it had an oily residue all over it accompanied by a terrible chemical smell- maybe I'm just oversensitive to these things, but it was really overpowering. I washed it as best I could, and the smell has faded over time, but avoid this product if you have any sensitivity to smells or chemical.s

  • Heavy duty exercise ball
    By A2GCG5GA2CDG03 on 2007-01-18
The rubber in this exercise ball is much thicker than others I've purchased, so I can see why it's listed as anti-burst. The included pump was helpful as well. As indicated in the instructions, the ball didn't seem to blow up that much initially, but after letting it sit overnight, I was able to add more air. So far I'm very pleased with it.

  • Good but smelly!
    By A1UZUBOD9SC6CW on 2007-02-06
This product was unusable for about a week at first because it smelled so awful - like a strong plastic chemical odor. (We even had to put it outside because it was so bad.)

  • Good yet Stinky
    By AYLI58QD3VJ4L on 2007-06-03
I was very pleased overall with the ball I received, as it was easy to inflate with the included pump, surprisingly sturdy, and came as advertised.

However, as a few other users have noted, the ball has a VERY strong chemical smell after it's been taken out of its packaging. I closed it up in another room with the windows open for a couple days, then washed the whole inflated ball in the shower with dishwashing liquid, and those two steps reduced the smell by about 90%. Hopefully in time it will disappear completely -- I wouldn't have used the ball at all if the smell hadn't gotten better gradually. It makes me wonder what kind of chemicals the thing is outgassing and if they're safe. MaxFitness should either deal with this issue by de-scenting or washing the balls before they're shipped, or by addressing the issue in their instructions.

Other than the smell, the ball has been great and everything I hoped for.

  • Very strong good quality
    By A1MCEIR4RD0GMP on 2007-10-10
This thing holds up to my weight which is 318lbs w/o flinching. I lift weights on it, so its really holding a lot more than that. It is quite strong. The pump they give you with it though makes it take a LONG time and a lot of energy to fill up, its nice if you have your own pump.

  • VERY PLEASE
    By A37J3W5TTGQWZV on 2007-02-22
My 16th months old baby loves this ball; my wife and I think it is a fun, practical and multiuse piece of equipment, vital to anyone interested in a core training solution.
I contacted the people from Max-Rx,LLC, and they were cordial and very kind in accommodating my purchase with the RED color ball we preferred.

  • Max Fitness vs Everlast brand
    By A8MBKFKR682QS on 2007-09-01
I have both and although the quality of the Anti-burst is good, my Everlast stays inflated longer. I use them for posture and shoulder workouts. For a chair, not good, too squishy and unergonomic.

  • Good Value
    By A1E0N76GT3QD6A on 2007-07-12
This is the first time I've owned one of these, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The image on the purchase page indicated it was black - I got a white one, but I wasn't too concerned about that. The ball is very sturdy - it takes a fair amount of abuse in my office on a daily basis. For the price, it is a good value - especially given that it ships with a foot pump. Others have indicated the smell was overbearing - it was a strong scent of plastic and rubber for the first few days, but no worse than being in the shoe department of Wal-mart or Payless. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

  • Very bad experience
    By A38C0OM8PU2KI4 on 2007-09-22
Item wasn't shipped until after the original date it was supposed to be received and arrived two weeks late. Once opened, the pump included didn't even work. Upon closer inspection, the pump was sent with a shredded o-ring inside. Haven't heard back after emailing to resolve the problem yet

  • disappointed in quality
    By A2M8WLGYT8KQNK on 2008-02-22
This stability ball is very thin and does not seem to be anti-burst. The company I usually purchase from is Perform Better, and their stability balls are much better quality. For my studio, they do not seem professional. For individual home use, it would probably be fine.

  • slow service
    By AUBRL4A01IPTI on 2007-11-19
It took me exactly one month to get my order from this company because they initailly sent the wrong size ball. They don't really have an efficient customer service department; I think the whole place is run by one person. Anyway, I finally got my ball and it's what I wanted, so that's ok.

  • great balls.
    By A3FBMD2OCC5WMR on 2008-02-11
I use this ball both at the gym and at home in my workout space (garage). its pretty much the perfect size for any ab workout that i have, and it comes with a pump to keep it nice and firm. not sure what colors it comes in, but basic black is what i have and it is fine.

The only gripes I have, and they can't really be helped, is that it takes up alot of space in my home. that, and i also noticed that the one at my gym smells a bit funny (could be all the sweat from all the users). overall though, I recommend this to anyone needing a good ball for doing abs and back exercises and stretches.

Be sure to get the right size ball for whatever you are doing....there are several at my gym that are ginormous, but this one fits my bodysize perfectly.

  • yes!
    By ABK2V5C2FWI1M on 2007-10-10
The ball is great. Fast delivery. Me and my husband both use the ball all the time. Anytime my back hurts i just use the ball and it feels really good. It's fun to use anytime even while watching tv.

  • Great Ball and Service
    By A1LXBK2VZ703 on 2008-01-31
We have had our balls for about 2 months. The first ones we received lost air between workouts. I contacted Max Fitness, and with no questions ask, they sent us new ones within a week. The replacements work great! I had read other reviews that the customer service was really bad, and I think they may have taken note and fixed the problems. I would recommend this product to anyone!

  • Nice company, good service
    By A2CDGF6A6PFFVV on 2008-02-08
Initial mix up on my order was remedied by a very apologetic owner of this family business. The exercise balls were re-sent and are as they should be. I use mine for computer chairs...better for posture, circulation, abs. For me, all around a more comfortable seat at a desk.

  • Worth The Wait
    By A2GL04TJW8PAI6 on 2008-02-11
Although delivery was slow and there was a mixed-up with the order, the seller finally made everything right. I specifically wanted a black ball to fit in better with my house decor. It is to be used both as a "chair" and for exercise. The ball seems to be sufficiently sturdy and the air pump is slow but works fine. It is shinier surface than I would have liked, but overall I am pleased.

  • To buy or not to buy
    By A1IIPRNWFGJEC5 on 2008-05-14
I was very nervous the workout ball that I purchased was gonna be thin plastic or rubber like the bouncy balls you can buy at wal mart. To my suprise it is built quite well and can really hold up to my weight. I actually removed my computer chair and replaced it with the excercise ball and that is all I sit on while I am on the computer.

  • Useful for crunches but BIG
    By A3FUFA0F677MB4 on 2008-01-07
I probably ordered the size too big and suspect the 60cm would have been best. Pretty big to leave inflated in the house.
The pump split immediately, but since the inflator end fall off the tube and the tube falls off the pump, it's a moot point. Assume you will buy a decent pump.
Vinyl quality is OK but it does not seem quite as robust as those at the gym. Still, for the price it is decent value.

  • Good Investment
    By AXH6S811PN7YK on 2008-01-19
This Item is just as discribed. And works for me. Foot pump is low-grade but did the job. Bottem line is Im pleased.

    Thanks, Ryan T.

  • Extremely Happy

I am very pleased with this product. Even more pleased with the fantastic customer service. I would order from this company again!

  • The Ball is Round
    By A10DCJZGNVJVCX on 2008-07-18
The Max Fitness exercise ball is great and very round as described unlike other square balls I have received. It is made of a soft material which makes it not hard as other balls I have had before. Still yet, the ball is firm the way I like it, not too mushy like other balls I have received. The ball comes in a charcoal black color, which gives the ball a dark shade contrast. Although, the rubber-plastic like material offsets this darker shade, by having a shiny outside glisten to it. I have found even more unlikely uses for the ball, such as exercising or working out while using it. The pump is especially nice for inflating air into the ball too. All my past balls had been hard to use without this.
