Best Price: $60.00 $30.00
VICTORINOX is the world leader of Pockettools (Multi-Tools and Pocket knives). For every activity, be it professional, in the home or during leisure time, there is a need for excellent tools and cutting implements. This nifty gadget may look like an ordinary multi-purpose Swiss Army knife, but it’s not. Inside, 512 megabytes of USB memory allow users to transport image, music, and data files from home to office and back again. It even features a full complement of more conventional Swiss Army tools, including a knife blade, nail file with screwdriver, scissors, key ring, LED mini-light, and retractable ballpoint pen. Also included is an extension cable to connect the memory stick with a USB port. Small enough to hang from a keychain, it’s a great accessory for the frequent traveler and an ideal gift for the business adventurer with a James Bond frame of mind. The SwissMemory is compatible with USB 1.1/2.0 interface, Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/MAC OS X, OS 8.6 and higher, Linux 2.4 and higher. Free, downloadable SecureLock software protects data from unauthorized access. --Mary ParkThis nifty gadget may look like an ordinary multi-purpose Swiss Army knife, but it’s not. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Cool Little Tool... By ABP0L92IVQAQ8 on 2005-11-05
The Swissmemory USB knife/tool is a very handy device for those who need the portability of an USB drive and the added diverse functons provided by a Swiss knife. Item is well made and hopefully should provide years of service.
Best USB device I've ever owned! By AUCJ0WA7YCFY3 on 2006-01-28
This usb device was given to me, and I am thouroughly impressed. I probably would have never purchased it on my own, figuring that a Swiss Army USB drive would be inferior to other well established companies.
I have the 512 mb version, and it's replacing my PNY Attache 512mb stick. I did a little test to compare the transfer rate. My PNY stick transfered at 1.5 mb a sec. The Swiss transfered at 8 mb a sec!
My PNY has a cap that i'm always losing, the Swiss doesn't, and my swiss has a knife and pen and stuff. The coolest part is the Swiss comes with software to partition you USB drive! Or you can set it to only work with a password!
The price is steep, but I didn't buy it! Hands down the best USB drive I've owned.
What a great "man" gift! By A39U9C94F4VL03 on 2006-03-12
I got this as a gift for my husband and he loves it! and I think with the new flight regulations it is ok to take on a plane (blade is less than 3"). The memory stick works perfectly and so do all the other tools on the knife. Could be a little cheaper, but not bad at all.
It's more for looks than function. By AFG1RHLO2TQD1 on 2007-07-25
When I bought this, I traveled somewhat frequently. With that said, this is a PITA in a laptop bag (where *ding* it's supposed to be), and if you forget it's in there, kiss it goodbye at security. Besides that, there are a few other things that I don't like about this thumb drive. 1) It takes a few months to get used to how to put it back into the knife. It's rather counterintuitive. If you take it out and keep it out of the knife, it's easy to lose, but if you don't as you use it, the plastic holding it in the knife will bend/break. 2) It's REALLY easy to breach the plastic hooks that hold it in the knife. I haven't done it, but I've been very close. 3) It's really on a conversation piece. If you need a knife, then you most likely don't need a thumb drive, and if you need a thumb drive, you most likely need a bigger thumb drive. But it has a sharp blade and scissors that don't work all that well as nail clippers. It also has a nail file that is too short to really be effective. And the light is cool for McGyver situations where anything will work in a pinch, but not a light to use if not absolutely necessary. The pen is also difficult to write with, but again, it will do in a pinch.
Other than that, everyone thinks it's cool and the thumb drive is reliable.
Overall a great product By AYDAXZZVMQJK4 on 2007-07-06
This item makes a great gift or a nice splurge for yourself. It's definitely got the "cool gadget" factor as well as actually coming in handy. I love mine and bought one for my husband who also loved the gift. He started carrying it around with him the same day. Once I accidentally had mine in my purse at the airport instead of in a checked bag. I clicked off the removable USB, dropped that back in my purse, and mailed the rest to myself rather than forfeit it to security because I couldn't bear to part with my cool toy.
- Great combo tool for any real geek!
     By AN3JWZLK9YPLP on 2006-03-20
I normally carry a pocket knife and a USB flas drive this allows me to only carry one item. It has scissors, a knife blade, standard screw driver blade, a pen, and a led light. This is a very handy tool. You may even remove the USB flash drive to take on a flight.
- Very Handy!
     By A1RHIVOXCOY7UO on 2007-07-09
I purchased one of these when they first came out. The USB drive is great to always have on hand - I can receive computer notes from presenters at conferences, move large files easily, and carry many utility programs with me. The traditional knife, scissors and nail file are handy and the pen is great - never without a way to scribble a couple of notes. The only downer is the weak red LED, but that is a bit picky. Great tool.
- Perfect for the Man who has everything!

My father is a 77 year old techno-geek. He has always been VERY hard to shop for. However, the one low-tech item he never goes anywhere without is his swiss army knife. So, when I found this flash drive, it was the perfect gift. He works with CAD, and so when he needs to move a file, it's a big one. This will help him a great deal. However, since he does travel with his job, I wish I had thought to get the Flight version. Oh well, he can always check the drive.
- 512mb SwissMemory has all the right tools.

Fits great in your pocket with just enough storage for all my college papers. The multi tools are actually useful and made wonderfully. Highly recommended.
- Amazon misleading price
     By A18ILEXAF9TYVC on 2007-12-02
I don't understand why Amazon would lie about the price. amazon said it was 60% off the original price of $98 (one day left)--but actually I went to the product's site and 512 m memory knife cost $49. Amazon, shame on you!
