NOT 100% Cotton By AZ0H4FAEERF06 on 2006-08-06
Under product features it states "100% Cotton" they are actually 58% polyester/42% cotton (at least the 2 I received which were Large colors-Graphite and Oxford). They will breathe, only because they are VERY lightweight. Very thin cotton that I do not expect to last more than a few washings. I would have been better off getting basic Hanes color T's at Walmart for $3.99 each.
Cheap. By ARBCOZ5U9EBEK on 2006-06-29
I bought this item because it was really cheap. The little "R" logo on the sleeve fell off in 1 week of athletic activity, but the fabric is very good and it seems this shirt will last a good long time
Excellent Buy! By A1GJZT67EPGUEA on 2006-02-03
The T-shirt is so comfortable I brought 7 of them in different colors. Russel Ahtletic is the brand you can trust completely.
Great basic tee By A11AXPVO0VMRYT on 2006-01-15
My husband got this for Christmas, and he was very happy with it. He loved the color, it fit great, and it should hold up well through several hundred washings!
I've worn T-Shirts before... By A3HBNOC6ANFNSK on 2006-08-15
...but nothing can compare with the Russell Athletic Men's Workout T-shirt! I think I can safely say it is by far the greatest piece of clothing ever manufactured. Just putting it on made me feel fast and powerful.
All kidding aside, it's a pretty decent T. Fits nicely, breathes fairly well (though as noted below, not 100% cotton), and isn't too expensive. About what you'd expect from a T-shirt
- Fantastic for the price
     By A1N19N5HYS98UG on 2006-09-09
These are my first choice for a basic t-shirt. I wear them alone and under other shirts. There is some variablity in the exactly what you get: some of mine are 100% cotton, while others are the poly blend; some have hot-press R decals on the sleeve, while others are embroidered. Both versions are equally comfortable.
I've also found that these shirts don't strech, shrink, or otherwise deform like many cheap t-shirts are prone to do. They are very good at keeping their shape.
- Not so great
     By A2OZK6AOQ9W271 on 2007-02-08
Sure its your average shirt, maybe I got unlucky. I washed mine once and the thread started to unravel on the bottom seam.
- decent shirt, average value
     By A392TGWEPCBRPW on 2006-09-18
I bought this shirt to get free shipping on another order, so I can't say I'm an authority on shirt quality/value, but:
- breathes well. light, yet decent thickness.
- I've used it at the gym, and it "works" fine. It "works" about as well as plain white T's I've used. Though it stays more opque when it gets a little sweaty, which I'm sure the ppl around me appreciated.
- good value. If it was 3 dollars, it'd be a great value, for the 6 I paid, it's alright.
- The best of the bunch
     By A2LRVU5ZTGDKDB on 2007-02-08
I recently got tired of buying 4-packs of t-shirts at Wal-Mart and having all but one from each pack shrink to unwearable sizes after one wash. I decided to try a few of the different t-shirts offered here on Amazon. I ordered this Russel t-shirt, a Hanes Perfect-T, and an Artiga t-shirt. Of the 3, this is the only one that did not shrink and/or flare at the waist after washing and drying.
The material is heavier than most cheap t-shirts. The one I received is 100% cotton, tagless and doublestitched at the sleeves, neck and waist hems. Overall, a great buy, and I will be buying several more of these to replace all the junk t-shirts I have bought over the past few years. Although the tag doesn't indicate it, I suspect that these shirts are made from pre-shrunk cotton.
I personally think these shirts are a great value considering I don't expect to have to relegate these shirts to the rag bin after a few washes. The confidence in a good product is worth the extra money to me.
- A Good Basic T-Shirt
     By AV54XFZHFHN2L on 2007-05-13
I work outdoors and like to wear a T-shirt with jeans as my usual outfit.
So, when it comes to T-shirts, I can be a bit demanding. For years I was buying my T-shirts from the Gap, but they tended to disintegrate after a short time. One day the Gap was under renovation and I need to buy some more T-shirts. I went to a sporting goods store in the Mall and bought a few Russell Athletic T-shirts.
What a difference, the cotton was twice a dense, the cut was nice and full-allowing free movement and the price was half that at the Gap.
My shirts seem to last longer and the color doesn't fade like the others.
I have bought other Russell products, and find their quality to be superior to their competitors.
- Works for me...
     By ARJ2OZ1A53NQP on 2006-11-03
These shirts are excellent for the price. They wear well, are soft & comfy and wash up nicely, holding their shape like new (I've had mine 3 months). Would definitely buy again, and I bought 6 the first time.
- A nice quality product at a great price
     By A2WQ5URP6MU8VG on 2007-03-08
This was a bit lighter material than I was expecting, but it is a great shirt for the price. I am very pleased with it, and the Amazon price could not be beat.
- Nice shirts
     By A831YHPGQ24MM on 2007-05-09
For the price these are great. I looked around and found out the price is great also.
- Russell T-shirts
     By A3HT9XDBK0R5V5 on 2006-08-16
Not bad for the price. Just wish they were a little heavier weight, but, hey, overall they were decent.
- Very soft and worth
     By A20JE8A4U4RLGM on 2007-01-06
the quality of the clothe is very nice. it is good quality cotton. worth the money. and it is very cheap too
- great tee's
     By A2TM2R69TM2VFV on 2007-02-10
can't go wrong with Russell - they wash great and keep their color and shape and wear for ever !
- Excellent quality for the price
     By A1HDRMZ7ZBFRZ9 on 2007-04-11
If you can get it cheaply, you'll like it for the very good fit and nice feel of the fabric. I'd say size wise it runs a bit small.
- Not 100% cotton!
     By A11194Q2WEKFAZ on 2007-04-26
I just got an exact one of this T-shirt (graphite) today, and found that it's not 100% cotton! The printed tag (actually no tag, just directly printed on the area where a tag usually was) read 50% Cotton and 50% polyester.
- Just a little Wide!
     By AVZSKCIYH9O3Z on 2007-05-03
I only paid $5.99 with free shipping. It is a little wide, good fabric though. Not the straight look like on the picture. It's OK. No issues.
- not cotton
     By AED90ZTHN1GH8 on 2007-05-05
I ordered 7 of these shirts for my husband, and only 3 of them were 100% cotton.
- satisfied
     By A288LHQ5HVH9YE on 2007-05-12
I got two white tee shirts for my brother and they fit him nice and they looked very comfy. They were made very well.
- Excellent for the price, breathable and fit well too.
     By A17YA3O4YHK5KK on 2007-07-02
I've been a big guy and I needed tees to wear to the gym that would be intended for working out, not tees with graphics that I would wear outside or ring neck tees or polos, I wanted workout tees, and these are great. I usually wear a XXL but these go great for working out in XL size, buyer beware though, it worked out for me.
These helped me out with my motivation at the gym because they are meant for the workout, breathe well enough, and are cheaper than the dri-tees that I still have to try out. I got them for 5.99 a pop for future information.
- Fair
     By ACDFQ2RGWWN7J on 2007-07-06
Not as heavy as I'd like, and not very good to wear under a dress shirt (logo is too prominent, and the sleeves are longer than a short-sleeve dress shirt). To wear as your only shirt, it's definitely not as heavy-duty. I got a great sale price on them, so it's a fair deal...
- Great for the price
     By A186DPLCKX2TQZ on 2007-10-24
THis shirt looks thin and you think that it will not last. Surprise.
I found them excellent for undershirt, workout and plain around the house.
They breath well and is very light. They last many washes. I had them for one year now and they kept their shape and color. Best of all they are cheap and come with lots of color. Their performance cotton costs a few more buck but are even better !!
- great workout shirt at a great price...show me a better deal.
     By A13SM6GQGP4YCK on 2008-01-26
I happen to like the fact that the oxford shirts are actually 58/42 and not 100% cotton. I wear them to the gym three times a week. I've found that 100% cotton shirts shrink and 100% polyester retains odor, but the blend works great. They seem to hold up well too. I also get the tank tops and sleeveless T's on occasion. I have purchased more expensive ($20+) name brand workout shirts in the past, but have come back Russell. For a little over $5 delivered to your front door with amazon prime, what more could you want? The value is hard to beat!
- Good Shirt
     By A24I6S17REVG34 on 2008-04-30
I bought these shirts to wear to my son's soccer games. They have held up well. The color has stayed true and the sizes were accurate. It's a very comfortable shirt. Only complaint would be that the Russell logo is now peeling off the sleeve. I didn't like the logo being there but if they are going to put it on there I think it should have stayed longer than 3 washes.
- The worst T-shirt I ever paid
     By A2X259MHW7HFYI on 2008-06-23
I bought two of them, in Large size, but when I opened the package i see two super xtra wide tshirts that says "LARGE". I hate it. The colors is worst, different than the images that you see in Amazon.
- Tired of Paying High Price for Being Tall
     By A1FJAUXPIAMA3H on 2008-07-22
I recently purchased 3 t-shirts that cost me 17.50 each, and they were thin and felt cheaply made. Six years ago I bought T-shirts made by companies with E.B. and L. E. for initials, and they were great. After ordering replacements I was very disapointed. So I went to the other place E.B. at the mall (and I hate the mall) and looked at the T-shirts.
They were thin and felt cheap. I casually mentioned to the lady who worked there that the T-shirts had changed. She told me "lots of people come in and want to replace T-shirts that are up to eight years old, and when they see the new ones they are disappointed at the ones we sell now. I left glad that I hadn't again overpaid for shirts that weren't what I wanted.
NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS, (REALLY GOOD)
I ordered these shirts in Black. When they came I was blown away with the quality and the weight and the weave. I found the closest thing possible to my old T-shirts.
They are great for three reasons
1. They are long enough
2. Color is consistent
3. They are thicker than the cheesey shirts I paid allot more for.
In closing I bought 2X tall I am 6 feet 4 inches Tall and weigh just over 300 pounds. I am not all gut I have a big chest and long upper body.
The shirts are long enough to tuck in.
HARD TO FIND THAT MY FRIEND, AT MOST ANY PRICE. THESE ARE GOOD.
THE ONLY REASON I WROTE THIS REVIEW IS WE WHO ARE NOT 5 foot 10 inches tall and weigh 178 pounds, SEEM GO THRU LIFE BANGING OUR HEAD AND PAYING MORE FOR EVERYTHING FROM UNDERWEAR TO BOOTS AND FORGET ABOUT SUITS AND FORMAL WEAR. SO TO YOU LADIES AND GENTLEMAN OF THIS LOOSE KNIT FRATERNITY I SAY BUY THESE SHIRTS AND FOR ONCE YOU CAN GET A GOOD BUY THAT FITS.
BEST TO YOU ALL,
ONE LAST THING
WHEN YOU SEE A TALL PERSON, PLEASE DON'T ASK: HOW'S THE WEATHER UP THERE?
THAT WAS ONLY FUNNY THE FIRST 100 TIMES. (THANKS)
- Good Fit
     By A3EDP76LPFVCBY on 2008-07-28
Not a good undershirt because it doesn't breath well. Works as a t-shirt. It fits well.
- Great Shirt
     By A31MDX74Y41TJ6 on 2008-08-17
