Works By ATO7H6R5SQKIX on 2005-11-04
I have been using the Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter for about three weeks. During that time I have used it in 18 one hour lectures. The presenter does everything it was designed to do effortlessly. I decided on the Logitech Presenter for a two reasons. First, it installs with no software. Just plug the USB radio transmitter/receiver into the back of your computer and it is ready to go. During my initial installation Windows XP said there was a problem, but everything operated just fine. Second, this presenter has a limited number of functions. It was my view that when giving a lecture the last thing you need is to have to hunt among a dozen or so buttons to do something. Also, more buttons increases the likelihood of hitting the wrong one. On the top the Logitech Presenter has 5 buttons: 1) forward, 2) back, 3) laser pointer which is between the forward and back, 4) F5/ESC which starts PowerPoint at the first slide or returns to the work view and 5) black the screen. All of the buttons are conveniently placed, work as promised and are easy to find without looking at them. On the left side is the on/off switch and volume control and on the right side is the button to set the countdown timer. The timer starts vibrating at set intervals 5 minutes before it reaches 0. It appears to use batteries sparingly. After about 18 hours of use the battery meter has yet to move.
There are two possible negatives to the Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter. First, it has no mouse (I actually consider this a positive). So if you need to use a mouse in your presentations this is not the presenter to get. Second, it only appears to work with PowerPoint. It may work with other programs, but I have found no mention of it.
Based on the above review and the fact that the machine does exactly what it was designed to do, I give the presenter 5 stars. However, before purchasing one you need to decide if you really need its capabilities. If you regularly teach/make presentations in a large room it no doubt is handy. As Logitech advertises, the range is at least 50 feet. If you always present in a small room, the Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter is really of little advantage. Nevertheless, it is cool to be able to change slides away from the projector. Perhaps the determining factor should be who is making the purchase. If your employer is springing for one, get it. If it is coming out of your pocket, consider carefully.
Works like a charm! By A16RI68PS6T5CA on 2006-05-05
I purchased this about two weeks ago, and have already used it several times. I'm just wrapping up my graduate education, and wish I knew about this sooner. If you present in teams, and usually have someone controlling the slides, you know how its difficult to sync your presentation with the other person. The Logitech Presenter puts the control into your hands. This also allows you to step away from the computer, and focus on the actual presentation than changing the slides.
This unit does the following:
- start presentation/exit presentation
- black out the screen (good for when you want to have people focus their attention on you instead of the slides)
- forward/back, to navigate through slides
- volume control
- laser pointer
- time limit notification (warnings at 5 mins and 2 mins)
- Also comes with a compact fabric case.
Contrary to what a previous reviewer stated, this receiver is NOT a USB bluetooth receiver. It is only USB, and transmits at a 2.4 GHz frequency.
As some others have stated, this is NOT a mouse. The more expensive Logitech Presenter (that costs over $150) can double as a mouse.
I have only utilized the Presenter with PowerPoint. I do not know if it is compatible with other presentation software.
Pros:
- The buttons are well positioned making it very easy to learn.
- very light, fits comfortably in hand
- the usb receiver is compact, and can be stored within the Presenter. I like the fact that it is so compact because on certain laptops, the USB slots are stacked on top of one another. With some other over-sized USB cords/receivers, it can cause trouble connecting both simultaneously. The compactness of the receiver is perfect!
- battery indicator
- comes with batteries
- the laser pointer can double as a toy to play with a cat. my cat chases the red laserbeam all around the room. who knew the Presenter could be so much fun? :)
Cons:
- time limit notifications can only be increased in 5 minute increments.
- the USB receiver can easily be put into the Presenter in the wrong way, making it somewhat difficult to take out.
- did not work on a couple older laptops. They were both running WinXP. However, these could be isolated incidents.
- Took at least 30 seconds on new systems for the Presenter to be recognized and set up.
- No resume feature
- The fabric case should have come with a belt clip
I took the Logitech Presenter to class, and fellow classmates loved it so much they all wanted to use it. They were able to learn it on the fly. This unit is money well spent!
The best one by far... By A1216BN2S1EPL1 on 2006-09-27
I've owned 3 other remote clickers, and this one is the best by far. For starters, it uses AAA batteries which are easy to procure and replace, whereas other models use those little quarter-size batteries that require a special trip to Radio Shack to buy. Plus, AAA's hold more juice to begin with, AND this clicker has an on/off switch, whereas others turn off on their own after time without use, meaning after they drain the battery! The transmitter on this clicker has plenty of power to reach the back of the computer/USB receiver stub from long distances, whereas others require the presenter to be close to the computer because they transmit a weak signal. The form factor of this one is perfect in your hand and the buttons are easily used, even by people unfamilar with it -- it's very intuitive. It has a very useful timer/clock that allows me to watch how much time I have left to finish my presentation -- it will also vibrate in my hand with 5 minutes to go, 2 minutes to go, and when my time is up. It allows me to add more time on the fly. This remote clicker is absolutely perfect in every way, and I can't tell you how many colleagues have purchased one after they tried mine. Don't waste your money on anything else -- they really got it right in all the human factors/UI aspects and all the engineering aspects when they made this.
Cheaper than the other Logitech cordless presenter, still all the functionality I need in a classroom By A2DROV57QCERX0 on 2005-07-27
My husband "bought me" the other Logitech cordless presenter (which costs about 3x as much as this one) a year or so ago because, as a high school teacher, I often use PowerPoint to teach new lessons and to show photos of unfamiliar events or references in literature. The truth is, I took the thing to school once before he hijacked it for his own laptop/flat screen combination and used it as a glorified cordless mouse, with laser pointer.
Honestly, this little thing is a lot more convenient than the other one for use in a classroom, and the reduced cost makes me less concerned about it "getting jacked" by one of my well-meaning but sometimes-misdirected students. It doesn't have the cordless mouse functionality, so I can't switch between programs. It's pretty much only functional for use with PowerPoint, but that's fine for me. I can now move around my classroom freely, switching back and forth between slides and pointing out specific things on the screen without having to be right next to my computer. It helps to be able to spot-check my students' progress and walk the room, and students everywhere are just more attentive when they see presenters who can actually move more than in just a 5-inch radius. I also love being able to "black screen" the TV at certain points (to answer questions, to address side issues, at the end of the presentation) without having to interrupt my presentation/presence in front of the class.
I especially like the little case and the USB storage in the unit when it's not in use -- I tend to lose things. I also like the size and feel of this presenter over the other one, which was too bulky for me. The 50-foot range is GINORMOUS, and not having to have "line of sight" to my actual computer is a lifesaver. I don't use the timer/vibrate feature at all, and the on/off switch is really easy to get to -- not like the one on my cell phone that requires a lot of fumbling and fighting to get it to depress.
Keyspan wi-fi moust might be better By A19GUY7QKAKL4A on 2008-05-01
I bought this recently and it was easy to use. Most people have written on the positive side of things so I will just add some shortcomings. It can only be used for power point presentations. It would be better to use Keyspan or something like that which includes power point presentation and a mouse as well. Secondly, this does not have an auto time out. I tried it the night before but forgot to switch it off (there is no LCD light anywhere so one does not realize it is switched on), and the next day when I tried to use it at a presentation it was out of power! Other than that it is a really cool device and easy to use.
- Great Presenter Choice and Keyspan/Logitech Comparison
     By A2F2DNN5PRBBPR on 2006-11-12
I purchased the Logitech 2.4GHz Cordless Presenter in September 2006 after buying and returning the Keyspan PR-US2 Presentation Remote.
WHY I CHOSE THE LOGITECH PRESENTER OVER THE KEYSPAN PRESENTER
1. The combination of buttons that needed to be pressed in order to engage the laser pointer became cumbersome on the Keyspan. In addition, it times out after a few moments. It became embarrassing during a presentation attempting to use the laser pointer only to realize that these few moments it stays active after pressing the button combo had timed out then having to redo the combo.
The Logitech has a button on it solely designated for the laser. This is a great convenience.
2. The mouse on the Keyspan was a bit jerky and worked sporadically. With the Logitech I decided to forgo the mouse and modify my presentations with click inserts instead. Generally during my presentations as an Instructor, I do not need mouse functionality on a presenter.
WHY I LOVE THE LOGITECH PRESENTER
1. As an Instructor, I tend to get long winded. If I am not careful, this can kill my agenda. The Logitech presenter allows segments of time to be set with a vibration notification. With this feature I am able to schedule an entire presentation in five minute increments or by a quick push of a button (without looking) I am able to allow myself a five minute continuous per slide.
I also use this time to measure student exercises such as tests and activities. If you conduct meetings where icebreakers are used, this is an excellent utility to use to measure how long you want an icebreaker to last. I am sure there are many other was this feature can be utilized.
2. I lose companion pieces often. The USB connector fits seamlessly inside of the presenter to ensure these two companions, presenter and USB connector do not part.
3. Did I mention that the overall shape of this presenter is also a bit sexy?
4. The case that arrives with Logitech presenter is not shabby. When the presenter is housed in the case, the case insulation is thick enough to protect it from a drop on a hard surface.
5. The battery notification warning is ingenious! The screen warning notification allows the opportunity for preparedness by having a battery replacement ready for swap. I am still using the manufacturer provided battery at almost three months. This is important to note as most manufacturer provided batteries do not last long. Generally they give just enough "juice" in the battery for introductory use.
The Logitech 2.4 GHz Cordless Presenter is a bit more expensive than other presenters. However, it is well worth the money in functionality, added accessory (heavy fabric case), convenience (USB holder inside unit) and preparedness (battery warning). You will not question your hard earned dollars being spent on this product.
- Solution for PowerPoint Presenter View
     By A21EYKXNUP7DRK on 2006-09-07
It's true, this presenter has problems with PowerPoint's Presenter View because in that mode PgUp and PgDown keys are used to scroll the notes. However, here's a neat trick I discovered that makes it work again:
- Start the presentation in Presenter View
- Pres "B" on your keyboard to show a blank screen
- Click the mouse (anywhere in the blank screen) once to resume the presentation and then AGAIN to advance to the next slide
- Magically, from this point on the presenter buttons work flawlessly.
It works for me every time.
- Great product if you can open the package
     By A1HUWWFJT4DVWI on 2005-12-06
I may sound like a whiner, but I am sick of electronics coming in industrial strength plastic packages that require a blowtorch, pliers and dynamite to open! This one was especially hard.
Anyway, assuming you can get the thing out of its package, it works fine. Moreover, it doesn't just work with Powerpoint (even though they only advertise it as working with Powerpoint, why in the world would they sell themselves short?). I use it on presentations in Scientific Workplace and PDF and it works fine, except the Escape and Blank Screen buttons (which is not a big deal anyway).
- It DO have "Resume" function on button "F5/Esc"
     By A3S6G9X5CC86YA on 2006-10-04
Just bought this wonderful "toy" and played around for few minutes. Unlike other reviewers' complains, I found two things need to point out:
1) I tried this presenter on two different computers with Office2000 and OfficeXP preinstalled respectively. Whenever I press the "F5/Esc" button, the Powerpoint2000 will always start slideshow from the first slide. BUT, the PowerpointXP will RESUME from the current slide!
2) The one I bought do have a nice slim nylon case with FLIP cover.
Another great feature is this presenter accepter AAA battery. My old laser pointer eat four "buttons". Each time it cost me $16 to replace them!
Simply love it!
- Nice hardware but ....
     By A3FOLSV15JHZ7 on 2008-01-31
The hardware for this device is very good. The device is small and compact. I like the way that the USB receiver is stored inside the device when not in use. I would lose it if it was not stored like this. I also like the case that comes with the unit.
However, one of the reasons I bought this unit, and paid a premium price, was for the timer function and that feature is almost useless. It was certainly not designed by a person who does much public speaking. I belong to ToastMasters and many of the speeches are 7 minutes long. The timer goes up in increments of 5 minutes so it is either five or ten minutes or longer. There needs to be a way to set it up for shorter speeches and increments of less than 5 minutes.
Furthermore, a bigger issue is that the timer starts timing as soon as you are done setting the speech length. This means that you need to set/start the timer AT THE PODIUM. This is not acceptable in public speaking when everyone is watching you to begin speaking. I recommend that there be a way to set the timer beforehand and then have a way to quickly start it at the podium.
In summary it is a nice device but do not buy it because of the fancy timer.
- Handy little tool
     By A3HEU6NSBLGHP0 on 2005-10-06
I really like this presenter. It is not too small like some I have used in the past, and it isn't huge and hard to handle. I like the design - the USB wand slides into the presenter for storage, and the case is nice as well. I also like the simplicity - only a few buttons: forward, reverse, laser, black screen and start. The `start slide show' button always starts at Slide 1, and sometimes I need to start in the middle - but that isn't a big deal. I haven't used the timer because I have only used this in lecture, but I can imagine it would be handy when giving a presentation.
- Perfect tool for presenters
     By A2FYQRH7YR3QI3 on 2005-10-10
The Logitech is as advertised. Easy plug and play operation. Wireless capability has a long range, laser pointer is convenient and timer with vibration is a great to keep you on time. Other features include F5/esc operation and black screen capability. Volume feature if you use audio during your presentation is a nice touch. Great Buy!
- Very good, but not reliable??
     By A1AAN6JOPT86NQ on 2006-02-25
Would give 5 stars, but the first one I bought from Amazon was defective. The second one was good, and it works perfectly with powerpoint. I used it to give a presentation and it allowed me to focus on the slides rather than run back and forth to my computer like a headless chicken!
Unlike other presenter remotes, this one does NOT need drivers.
The unit is EASY to hold and EASY to use. You NEVER have to look down to the remote to see what you're pressing, allowing you to focus on the presentation and audience. The plastic is covered with some sorta easy to grip stuff. I don't even know what it's called, but it's nice. It doesn't seem like the rubber coating will come off, either. :)
There is NO DELAY between your button press and your compter's reaction, which is GOOD! You can flip through multiple slides with ease. (Although if your computer is really really slow it might have some delay)
The 2.4Ghz band MIGHT have interference. My buttons wouldn't work if I was too CLOSE to the laptop, which I thought was odd.
The included timer only works in 5 minute intervals, and the vibrating alert is too soft - you have to have it firmly in your hand to notice it.
The laser pointer is the standard red dot. Very good. Just make sure you don't press the laser button while you're facing the audience. -- Although only an idiot would mistake the laser button with the "next slide" button, we all know how nervous and absent minded we can get during presentations. If you're scared, just cover the laser hole with masking tape.
The batter life seems good too, and the batteries are AAA and very easy to replace. Logitech actually included Duracell batteries! Nice!
The included case is neoprene, and fits the unit nicely.
Unit is light and doens't add to travel weight! :)
Just beware of Logitech products in general, cause their quality control sucks. MAKE SURE YOU BUY IT FROM A PLACE THAT HAS A GOOD RETURN/REPLACEMENT POLICY because their customer service sucks too. Out of 5 random logitech products I bought, 2 were defective!
- Outstanding design, features, ease of use
     By ARQ945F4OIWVI on 2006-04-14
I purchased this unit to replace a Targus PAUM30 remote control with laser pointer. The Targus was aways frustrating for me. Erratic button operation (no advance or multiple advances), illogical button layout, large size. The Logitech is a superb replacement.
Forget the dimensions in the on-line product description - it is NOT 8+ inches long by 6+ inches wide. It fits comfortably in my hand.
The buttons are logically laid out and very responsive. The laser pointer has well over a 40' range - I have no idea how much further it goes - just that it is still clear and well defined at that range. The advance/reverse buttons also work at about 40' with several intervening walls (done as a test...).
The on-off switch and the battery meter are great conveniences to avoid battery drain and to know when the batteries are getting low.
The timer is easily set albeit only in 5 minute increments. I find at least two uses. To time my own presentation and keep me on track. The quiet vibration warnings at 5 minutes and 2 minutes are helpful. The timer even has a 4-segment bar display that divides your entered time by 4 and reduces by one segment for each quarter of your total time. Another use for trainers: Say you give a group 5, 10, etc. minutes to do something. Set the built-in timer and you'll know when the time is up.
Want a gripe? Packaging. Their plastic bubble package took sharp scissors and some care to get open. That's about the only gripe I can offer.
One caveat: As others have noted and as Logitech is clear about. This unit does not serve as a mouse. I PREFER this since it is one less mode to erroneously get into and mess up my presentation. But, if you need a combined remote mouse and presentation controller, look elsewhere. If you need a great remote presentation controller, this is the unit.
- professional opinion
     By AS0L34QK77O6I on 2006-12-23
I don't like reading positive reviews from people who have only recently purchased a product because they haven't had it long enough to know how it's going to last. I am a professional speaker who travels around the nation and the world presenting seminars using PowerPoint. I have had two different controllers in the past, and I did a lot of research to obtain this new one. I bought this one about 6 months ago, and it has operated flawlessly! This one lives up to all of the "five star" claims I read here before purchasing it. It is a perfect size, and the built-in timer/vibrator works like a charm. In fact, others in my profession have asked to see this unit once my seminar was finished, and many have purchased it right away.
- Easy to Use Great Price
     By A1N0F0RDBN6WPC on 2005-10-17
I teach college and was frustated with having to be next to the laptop to change slides in Powerpoint. This is a great gadget, very reasonable price, plug it in first time and it works like a dream. I have had very good luck with many logitech items so I was not surprised but greatly pleased.
- Great tool, must have for all presenters
     By A2V8KD9A0UFQ1P on 2006-03-14
The Logitech 2.4GHz Cordless Presenter is an incredible tool.
What I liked the most:
- The timing feature allows you to keep track of your presentation length, this is very nice because you can check your time left and nobody will notice you.
- It worked well with my PC and Macintosh (both PowerPoint and KeyNote).
- The laser pointer is very helpful.
- All of the controls are very easy to use.
- The mute/unmute feature works great.
What I disliked:
- The plug-and-play USB receiver took longer to be recognized in some systems.
- I wish the little case have had a belt clip.
- I wish when you stop the presentation it had a "resume feature" vs. always going back to the beginning.
- Great for PowerPoint, but not for Corel
     By A3JEBGOM6EO5N on 2006-10-14
I do a great deal of public speaking, but usually use Corel Presentations instead of PowerPoint (for numerous reasons which I won't describe here!). I have an older and cheaper Targus remote device which has a very simple array of functions, and it works well with both programs. The features and range of the Logitech convinced me to give it a try, hoping it would work with Corel--but it doesn't (and converting from a Corel file to PPT tends to botch the bullet animations). The plus is that it works flawlessly with PowerPoint. Bottom line: for those faithful few who use Corel, this is not the device for you--unless another reviewer out there can tell me how to get this to work!
- Must-have for PPT users
     By A1GBNCP81OY2UL on 2005-10-05
I had been using a cordless optical mouse and wanted simple, dedicated remote with laser pointer -- without carrying 2 devices.
This device has all the MUST HAVES (dedicated buttons for fwd, bk, laser, start/stop show) and NICE TO HAVES (black screen, LCD timer, vol up/down) in a well-designed unit with a handy nylon case.
Not only is software not required; it's not even included! Has worked exactly as advertised on 5 different computers so far. Would prefer auto-off (not sure how long 2 AAA batteries will last), but can't imagine it will use up batteries quickly even if left on.
- Inexpensive and reliable, fantastic for educators and presenters
     By A3D5IW66G35Q7F on 2006-04-23
As a teacher, I first purchased this presenter about six months ago for use in my history classes. I wanted something that would work when I needed it to but not be a complete financial backbreaker if a kid waltzed off with it. This presenter fit the bill perfectly, and has proven a tremendous value.
It is a simple plug-and-play device that goes right into your USB port and works effortlessly. The signal is strong and the remote is well-constructed. Admittedly, it only has a few basic functions, specifically forward and backward, but most PowerPoint users need little else. The inclusion of a timer (which emits a vibration as it approaches zero) and a laser pointer are also nice extras, but even without them this would remain a good value.
Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with it. Highly recommended.
UPDATE -- I've had this presenter for two years now and it has continued to perform well. Despite almost-daily use it is still on its first set of batteries and it continues to do the job well even from a distance. Still highly recommended.
- The Businessman's Magic Stick
     By A3LWHTGUFOLH6C on 2006-08-26
Whether you're in a conference to pitch the latest "business paradigm", orient new employees on proper office etiquette or discuss quarterly reports with colorful bar graphs, PowerPoint presentations, for better or worse, have become a mainstay of corporate life. With their rise in popularity in the past dozen years, it was only a matter of time before AV accessories like the Logitech LCD Remote Control Presenter would crop up to magically advance those slides from across that dark cherry paneled boardroom.
With its black matte and silver look and smooth edges, I was going to remark how the Logitech Presenter at first glance resembles a futuristic intrauterine device for a giraffe. But that's a bit too precious. And besides, it really just looks like, well, a remote control. It's lightweight, ergonomic, runs on two AAA batteries and has one primary function: it allows the speaker to move around and engage his/her audience without the hassle of scurrying over to the laptop to push a button. You couldn't ask for a more trivial device, I'm sure, but it does have its place and uses.
A small USB stick acts like an antenna/receiver that attaches to the USB port of any PC or laptop. It's plug and play, so there are no drivers to install and when the presentation is loaded, the Remote takes over the slide advancing chores. No line of sight is required and it has a decent range.
The rest is even easier. The right button advances your presentation. Venture a guess what the left one does. While the remote control has some neat bells and whistles, it doesn't act like a wireless mouse, and since its function is limited to such a narrow scope, I'm guessing other features have been added to justify this as well as its steep price (ranging $50 - $60, depending on where you buy it from). It doesn't boil water and scour the toilet yet, but it has a:
* Built-in laser pointer.
* Built-in timer. Located on the left side of the remote, the timer button advances in five minute increments. The time is displayed on the small LCD screen. At the two minute mark and again at zero, the remote vibrates in the presenter's hand.
* F5 button. Acts in the same way as the F5 key on any keyboard. It alternates the presentation from work mode into slide show mode.
* Screen Icon button. This is located beside the F5 button and it alternates between powering off and on projection.
* Power saving switch with battery power display.
The Logitech Presenter provides a frivolous creature comfort for any AV addict, but in a business environment, it does reflect a degree of professionalism and convenience for the incessant presentation freak. So for all you tech heads and company suits, we all know you have a PowerPoint with a slide of that duck destroying a computer with a mallet. And when you make it dissolve into a beautiful pie chart from across the room, you too, can know what it feels like to be the Doug Henning of the corporate world.
- Unbelievably GREAT product
     By A1A306IAZ3TM1 on 2006-09-01
I have tried most of these items on the market. I own and use this one. In fact, I have bought them now for everyone on our team. They are so good, it's hard to imagine how you'd improve it. One only has to use any of the others (there are several popular models) where the forward and backward buttoms are not OBVIOUS to know brilliant this simple layout is. You always, instantly, know which button to press. And, it's a large button, not some small one or some little jog wheel where you have to remember whether up is forward or down is forward (neither is obviously intuitive). But on this Logitech unit. the forward button is the one to the right (like reading, as least for Westerners). Going back, well, it's the left one. The added button to instantly blank the screen and the built in timer and laser pointer are just added benefits to what you want the thing most to do well.
Lastly, I note that I have given various large keynote addresses with this model where I am a good 80 to 160 feet from the computer running the presentation (guessing, but I'm talking in the back of a ballroom from the front) and the signal gets there and it works.
There could be a better one of these, but I do not know how.
- Too many buttons
     By A2IDCZA3DFQBOF on 2006-11-09
There are too many buttons that are easily pushed inadvertantly. I'm a professor and I give lectures using this 2+ times per week. It has great reception over 100+ feet, but the blank screen and especially the volume control buttons are too easy to push by accident. It would be nice if there were an option in the control software that allowed you to turn those buttons off.
- Great Tool

The Logitech Cordless Presenter is an economical solution for presenters and lecturers who need to control and point to PowerPoint presentations. The Presenter works very well controlling the slides both forward and backward and the built laser pointer is very convenient to use with the same finger that controls the slides. The Presenter is tapered to nicely fit into your hand and has a soft no-slip surface which is easy to grip. The built-in countdown timer can be preset up to 10 hours in 5 minute intervals and silently vibrates to warn you when you have 5 minutes remaining and vibrates again when your preset time is expired. It uses two standard AAA batteries and has a battery life indicator and the Presenter can be turn off when stored to save battery. It has an audio volume control and few other features which I have not yet used. I have used the Presenter in rooms up to 30 feet from my laptop and from various angles around the room with absolutely no control problems. Another feature that I like is that you also can have your normal mouse working in parallel for clicking on hyperlinks or whatever you might want to select while at your computer. The Presenter's tiny USB compatible antenna plugs into your computer and it starts working. When not in use, the antenna slides into the body of the Presenter for really neat storage. The Presenter also comes with a soft storage poach with a Velcro fastner. Superb and classy design and I love it. Good job Logitech!!!
- Great product!
     By A1NB2MIYGA1LW5 on 2005-09-21
I purchased this item after reading reviews online. I had experience using a cordless presenter that was a better seller than this one, but I found it to be difficult to use. This presenter has intuitive controls with nice features such as the laser pointer and the ability to black out the screen. I also like that the piece that plugs into the USB port stores in the controller when it is not in use. I have not used the timer function, but in using the other features I have found this product to be very reliable and easy to use.
- Works flawlessly with Powerpoint
     By A3STDXP1BU84W5 on 2006-03-24
I chose this presenter for several reasons. One, I have always had good luck with products by Logitech. Two, I only wanted something that would take 'plain vanilla' AA batteries, and this does. Three, it's 'plug and play' via a usb remote, which stores nicely in the presenter itself. It does not have full 'mouse' function, but that is not an issue for me.
I am 100% satisfied with this item and highly recommend it.
- Essential for Every Powerpoint Presenter

I have seen countless speakers who stop what they are saying, walk back to their machine, look at the keyboard to find the right key, and press it... every time they want to advance to the next slide, or even the next bullet on a build. It looks really unprofessional.
You will become a smoother presenter with this device (and a little knowledge of your slides). Without looking, without the audience noticing, the slide advances when you click a button. With practice you will do this while you are speaking. Complex builds are easy to synchronize, making them practical and effective.
I am a professional speaker ("SOA Evangelist"), and I cannot imagine presenting without one of these. At this price everyone who even occasionally speaks can afford to own one, and I recommend you get one if you ever present with Powerpoint.
The batteries last a long time - handy, since I sometimes forget to switch it off, yet it is still going strong after several months. It has many great features beyond slide advancing: a built-in laser pointer, ability to temporarily hide the slide and restore, several other features that I don't use. The range is at least 50 feet (15 meters). The included Bluetooth USB adapter stores in the pointer body when not in use, making it harder to lose.
The only negative, and it's minor, is that I cannot figure out how to avoid using the Bluetooth USB adapter. My laptop has built-in Bluetooth, so it should be able to use this device directly without the adapter. Also, you should know that this is not really a mouse - there's no way to move the cursor with this device.
I have had three wireless presentation devices over the past 6 years, and this is by far the best of them.
- Wonderful Product

This little bugger is the best presenter i have ever owned. It states that it will work 50 feet away. It, when the batteries are fresh, will work almost 90 feet away. It is just the right size to fit and hold comfortably in your hand. I love the alarm function. Other than the fact that it does not put my slide shows together for me (tee hee) It is a great investment.
- Huge disappointment

I bought this after reading all the glowing reviews. I has a glaring defect: it doesn't work with presenter view!
All it does is page up and page down. The timer is a useless feature, because it's in the presenter view!
I'm sending it back.
- Perfect

If your looking for a pointer that has "Start Slide Show" button, blan screen button, laser pointer and great range, then this is the pointer for you. I was not disappointed in any way. I think the best part of the pointer is that it takes AAA batteries. If your batteries go down you don't have to find a complicated battery.
