Last WAY longer than alkaline By A27GRVH9ZJGXLT on 2006-04-10
These are my first rechargeable batteries, so all I can say is that in comparison to alkaline, these are WAY better and longer losting. Alkalines stop working in digital cameras long before they are actually used up, because they can't supply the required current for high-demand devices. These Sonys last much more than 4x as long because alkalines only work for a few minutes. These Sonys maintain their voltage at a stable level. I am using them in an Olympus C-755 digital camera, and I charge them using the Sony BCG-34HE4 charger. I can't say exactly how many pictures you can take on one charge, because they last for so long I lose track. If you have a digital camera, you absolutely must use rechargeable Nimh batteries. Don't waste your money on the expensive "high-end" alkalines or non-rechargeable lithium, etc. Also, you are doing the environment a favor by not using toxic landfill filler.
Great when newly charged By A21XCASNFHR61I on 2007-04-17
I have owned these for about four months. Mostly they are used in a DSLR camera.
I find that, when freshly charged, they are superb, giving lots of life and fast performance in the DSLR, which relies heavily on good battery power. They also charge fine, with no memory problems, in the Sony charger.
However, these batteries lose power when not in use. Most AAA rechargeables do, of course. But there are a new sort on the market that minimize the power drain when not in use. I have tried some, the eneloops.
They are just plain better than these Sony batteries. Eneloops fire right up and last longer even when they have not been in use for days or weeks. I find this makes a big difference because I don't have to recharge every time I start out a day with my camera.
Hope you find this helpful.
As good as any I've used By A3BR71UJ21V9A4 on 2006-10-29
I've used these, Energizers, Duracells, etc. These have worked as well as any, and are often sold by Amazon at a very good price. Sony also makes a nice charger, the BCG-34HRMF4. When on sale, with 4 batteries, it's a great deal.
Be aware, though, that NiMH batteries all slowly lose their charge on the shelf, and will discharge in about a month or so, so don't use it for a device that sits around somewhere for long periods.
Why pay more for SONY name? Batteries made by Sanyo By A3V6WWCJNXN4MN on 2006-06-03
Well, I hate when companies try to profit off a brand name, and not off inovation.
I think SANYO should be given the credit for the performance of these batteries, after all SANYO makes them, then sony puts their label on it and jacks the price up.
Check out the Energizer E2 batteries. Also SAYNO rebrands, and much cheaper.
Anything that is made in japan and 2500mah is made by SANYO.
Be wary of batteries made in china that claim extremely high ratings. Most of the time, they dont perform as advertised. I spent lots of time looking for excellent quality AA batteries, and anything made by SANYO seems to be the best.
Great batteries with great juice By A1S0PKKZ056BIY on 2005-08-24
I use these for my Canon S2 IS digicam. Lasted for over 200 snaps the first time used it. And that too with flash and all the other hullabu featurs of my cam. Definitely worth its price.
- They jsut don't hold
     By A1JEUKE4MI56EV on 2007-01-29
Purchase this as an extra set after receiving Sony charger. The lesson came very soon. I had to rush to a nearby 7/11 minutes before an event. The Olympus DSC showed "low bat" on the 2700maH batteries (came with the charger) after few shots and didn't even like the 2500maH spares that were charged 2 to 3 days prior.
I have done some research and weekly experiments. I refreshed and re-charged repeatedly and measures in-between. The voltage dropped from the ~1.4V to ~1.2V within 3 days on all 8 of them. One tech paper stated that NiMH batteries do lose 1% of their charges in 24 hours at room temp when not in use. The Sony ones must have far exceeded the typcial case. It's winter time in Calfornia and the moisture doesn't come into play.
I read all the reviews before the purchases. I wondered if I were just unlucky until the reviews on the charger revealed the same issue with the batteries.
These batteries are not totally useless. They give you a good day of shooting if you charge the night before. What you lose is the freedom of "grab and shoot".
- Important Charging Note
     By A3SYNEKLJOISVU on 2007-01-02
It's best to charge your high-capacity (2500 mAh) NiMH batteries in an appropriate charger of the same manufacturer.
When I attempted to charge Sony batteries in my Monster charger, the batteries got very hot, never stopped charging, and killed the charger. I tried 2500 mAh Sony batteries in my cordless Logitech mouse, and when the mouse was placed in its charger, the batteries - and the mouse - began to get hot. Fortunately I removed the batteries before any damage was done to the mouse or its charger.
The Sony batteries are fine when charged in a Sony charger. Perhaps someone else will know whether the problem is mixing brands, or mixing capacities. Just be careful which batteries you put in what. -LR
- Great batteries-Lose charge rapidly if not used
     By A3TKMEPX1G3J67 on 2006-06-03
These batteries work great, but lose charge rapidly if not used right away. I have 4 batteries and when they are fully charged I have never run out of battery power for a full day of picture taking. When the batteries sit around not used for more than 3 or 4 days they lose their charge. Not sure if other brands do the same. All in all I am happy with these batteries. I just charge the batteries before an event. 2 in the camera and 2 spare.
- Excellent Batteries - True to their Stated Capacity
     By A1A3GMUM96K3JN on 2006-09-05
I've tested many different brands of rechargeable batteries, and have in total over 40 of them. These are the best so far.
As someone else already stated, they are relabeled Sanyo batteries - which is good!. Sanyo is one of the best batteries manufacturers there is.
When tested, every one of them is over 2300mAh. Consistent performance, long lasting, reliable, made in japan and cheaper than most of the other brands (which perform worse).
Highly recommended.
- Batteries are made in Japan.
     By AOM3F7CT8YPVL on 2007-10-18
Product is made in Japan. Took around 280 pictures with my Canon S5 and it was still going. The capacity of 4 batteries are shown as 2630, 2640, 2580 & 2710 mAh & the voltage is 1.47V in La Crosse BC-900 charger. It is one of the best price/performance ratio.
- Rechargeable Nimh Batteries 2500 mAH is a good one.
     By A2UGVHK7ZEPIBB on 2005-08-02
- I think the electric power 2500mAH is almost the highest ampere batteries righ now.I just see another Rechargeable AA batteries have higher power : it's 2700 mAH. But not widespread yet.
- Seems like best bang for the buck
     By A1D8VFSAU9GKYK on 2006-09-13
If you want 2700 mah AA's, there's still a big premium from 2500's. For 2500's, these seem like a fine deal. I checked out the Energizers as suggested by one of the other reviewers (who made some excellent observations by the way), but presently, they are more expensive, even if you buy the larger 8-pack.
I'm sold on these for now until 2700's become more numerous and less costly. Just my 2 Cents.
- These batteries are great!
     By A10VB3KEYDD6K0 on 2006-11-16
I would certainly recommend these Sony rechargeable batteries! My boyfriend bought me a set with the charger shortly after purchasing my Canon PowerShot A620 (which I also love!!) and I am now back to buy an extra set b/c we are going on vacation. They last a long time and re-charge in no time at all.
- Sony Batteries
     By A2OB6DESQIJQLJ on 2007-01-13
Very excellent batteries. I use them in digital cameras and flashlights. They have functioned for a very long time in each application. I have re-charged them several times by now and they are still going strong.
- Best rechargable battery - period
     By AQ3CTPAMAF3IJ on 2007-05-10
I have tried a few types of batteries, but these are top notch (as the price suggests). In my Canon A620 I can take about 300 pictures and many battery draining videos before these Sony batteries go dead. In my Xbox 360 controller I've had one set in for a few months without having to change them. I have multiple sets of energizer rechargeable batteries at work, and they don't hold a charge as long or completely die within a month or so. These Sony ones last longer then any other batteries that I have tried. I will not use any other brand now.
- An Endless Dream
     By ARJED213J8J4G on 2007-11-29
As with most products these days by the time I make an honest appraisal it's already replaced by the manufacturer with and upgrade or no longer available. However I can say of this product that since receiving these batteries six weeks ago and fully charging them then placing them into my wireless desktop, digital camera and mini-disc player that they have yet to require recharging! In my digital camera they give me clear, crisp and vibrant pictures frame after frame. In the mini-disc player and wireless desktop they seem to be endless at this point and here I better stop to leave well enough alone... Hope this helps!
- reliable performance
     By A4HT4SK9WT5D on 2008-03-12
I bought these batteries initially 3 years ago before a trip to Alaska. They worked great all day, every day. I just charged them up at night and they were ready for another full day of sight-seeing and picture taking. Now, after three years of pretty consistent use, they no longer hold a charge for very long. I think they had a pretty good run, so, I just bought my second set.
- Very nice quality and long lasting
     By A3GWYCPQ3K9C06 on 2008-06-28
I have used these for about a year and during that time these batteries have held up well. After many chargings they still come close to their rated capacity. Do yourself a favor and use a "smart" charger.
- Good product, but no reason to get them anymore
     By AWKTXUKIR3P8N on 2008-09-08
I think this is a good product, but now that hybrid NiMH batteries are out that has a low self discharge rate, I just don't see the need for these anymore.
The only reason for getting these over hybrids is that hybrids currently available go up to 2000 mAh only, but from the reviews I've read of the good ones, 2000 is more than enough and sometimes even outperforms rechargeables with a higher mAh rating.
With that in mind, since the prices are similar, I would just get the Sony "Cycle Energy" hybrid or the Eneloop instead.
The "Cycle Energy" label on these are a bit confusing because they don't mean hybrid on this particular product.
- Good batteries better than disposables
     By A2QA2UL5EJG0QF on 2006-11-07
These are good rechargeables for the money they are a steal I highly reccomend them. They are always strong at the first bunch of uses but they will get weaker I think I read they are the strongest the first 1000 uses or so just buy more after that they are cheap and good quality
- Good product
     By AD1SDWU0MD0XD on 2007-01-12
Hi,
I bought this for my digital camera as it is drinking too much of battery. I found this product very good and the charges are long lasting. I would suggest this product to every one.
- Karthikeyan
- Excellent
     By A1GPS3ULIPNN4R on 2007-02-20
Works great with just about anything I've tried them with. I currently have 16 of them and 24 of the AAA ones and along with the 15 minute charger they are simply great. I had my doubts after reading some reviews saying the did not hold their charge longer than a few days. Let me tell you that I have 6 of them on 3 Wii control remotes and the have lasted for up to 3 weeks with moderate gaming. Another example is, they last 2 weeks one my laser mouse with very heavy use.
- Great, for a while
     By A1A9TKCB5NBPM on 2007-04-22
I bought these for my wireless Xbox360 controllers, and they are great! But I do notice a decline of performance, everytime I put it in, it doesn't last as long... I don't see it as such a big deal because they are cheap, and I do realize how much money I've already saved if I were to buy regular batteries.
- Last a long time
     By A7Z6M4085GCIW on 2007-05-22
i bought two sets of these batteries to use in a new digital camera. i charged them about a month ago and have taken around 150 photos with the same set of batteries and they are still good! i expected them to lose charge in the periods between taking pictures, but so far the same four batteries are good. I am very pleased.
- satisfactory

The product was delivered in time and has till now (2 months) given service without a single recharge
- Best rechargable battaries I've had!
     By A1PEYRD60TEIT8 on 2007-10-10
Just simply good! Easy to recharge and last forever. I use them for my Canon PowerShot A640 10MP Digital Camera and they work really well with this camera. I've been using my camera frequently for a week, and the batteries still run good.
- excellent batteries
     By A1VDE4NJQ0F0NU on 2007-11-02
I've only had these batteries for a few months so this review is a smidge premature. However, in those few months I have only switched between the 2 sets that I got (for my much-loved & oft-used digital camera) 4 or 5 times -- so I know they are long-lasting! I'm very happy with them. I know they'll wear out eventually but at the rate I've been charging them it's going to be a lot longer than that ol' bunny!
- Why the Blister Pack?
     By A16YI1UUMF1X8X on 2007-11-14
I do not disagree on the quality of the batteries. However, the comment I have is about the decision to purchase the blister 4 pack for $16.99, when the same 4 batteries are available from Amazon in a convenient slide case for $13.18
- Rechargables Save the Planet
     By A2XZ98Z3YY2YHP on 2007-12-12
We bought a Wii in the summer. It's a great system, but the remotes eat batteries like a starved hyena at a buffet. Nintendo sells a two remote rechargeable system for $30, but I was able to get a recharger with four batteries for half that price. Throw in an extra four batteries, and I can keep 3 Wii remotes and a digital camera running for less than the cost of the proprietary recharger. That's what I call a deal! I give this 4 stars because I just got them. The Sony charger claims it can refresh the batteries to eliminate the memory effect of these types of batteries, so I won't know if that is really true for about a year.
- Sony 2500's
     By A1XTGCVZNOBZS0 on 2008-01-28
These batteries are great. I was getting ready to throw my camera away and came to find out it works perfectly when I have good batteries.
