Xtreme TB264DKO 264-Disc CD/DVD Casex

(33 reviews)

Best Price: $49.99

Why settle for small CD wallets that carry only a tiny fraction of your music and movie collection when you can carry over two hundred discs at once? This Xtreme CD/DVD case is built to hold as many as 264 discs--giving you a huge selection for long road trips--yet takes up only as much space as the average coffee table book. Each of the case's 33 double-sided storage sleeves can stow up to eight discs (four on each side), or listeners can configure them to hold CDs and DVDs in half the pockets and booklets in the other half. More importantly, the case protects your media from damage thanks to its sturdy rubberized outer layer that's resistant to heat, moisture, and tearing. The durable construction ensures that your discs are perfectly safe even if you forget them in your car on a warm afternoon. The interior of the case also contributes to your discs' wellbeing, as each sleeve is lined with a soft, scratch-free backing. Once you're ready to hit the road, merely zip up the closure for safekeeping and grab the reinforced rubber handle. So whether you're stocking up on music and movies for a cross-country drive or you just want to do away with jewel cases and compress your collection, this Xtreme case is a perfect fit. betcha bucks to donuts you wont get yer ree bate.
    twice in row, ree jected
    having trouble posting de tails
so i just keep modifying the review, a little at a time, with lotsa misspelllings.
    so where was I?
ree bates hq dot com routinely rejects items from x treme as "in n vallid purrchasse date"
    no phone no. to call.
    to be cont.
and amm a zonn doesn't exactly send the x treeeme item out promptly, even with 2nd day aair.
    ....
if you don't believe me, try reposting this yourself with the missspelllings correctted.
betcha words like inn valllid ree bbatte, and ree bates hq dot com won't post.
i guess this prevents complaints like this from showing up on google searches.
But if you send them a really really nasty e-mail mentioning things like attny gen erral and bettter bussinesss burreau, you might get it.

Here is what their website says to do after they ree jecct you:

    Purr chase Date
Your subb mission is inn valid due to purrr chase date. The purrr chase date must fall within the pro motion time frame specified on the ree bbate coupon or on the reee be bate website. Please send all reee subb missions to:

    * Ree submmission Department
    * P.O. Box 02 8516

i will never ever ever ever buy another product from x tre me or tech b ever again.
i do not do business with companies like this.

if you have similar problems, please contact your state attny gen. and bettter businness bureeau. or perhaps the local newsspaper.

  • Zipper Problems

    By A23SQH5SIQEG08 on 2005-10-09
I bought six of these cases of varying sizes. And even though they look great and were of seemingly great value, the frustration they cause doesn't worth it. I have had repeated problem with the zipper on every single one of them, some of the zippers broken and cannot be fixed. And on one of the cases, the adhesive holding the pages wore out and the pages have come loose. And I only used the case for two months.

I agree that the price was nice, but I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Xtreme TB264DKO 264-Disc CD/DVD Case - rebate problem

    By A1R3KUD5J9I6UL on 2006-02-18
I also bought this item. Sent in all of the required documents, including original UPC. Rebate denied because UPC was not included. I emailed them 3 times stating that I did in fact enclose it . Also quoted the number from the copy of it that I retained. To date, have heard nothing from them. I have now filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General, and will follow up and file with the better business bureau and the FTC.

  • Finally got rebate

    By AIL53OJGVPGEJ on 2006-03-18
I had all the same rebate issues with this item as others, so if you are buying this CD case just because of the rebate, please DON'T. I did finally receive my rebate, 4 months later after a second mailing in and irate email. I just cashed the check and I'm crossing my fingers that it actually goes through! The product itself seems okay. I can see if you use it a lot that the zipper might break, but I rarely get into my CDs so I haven't had that issue yet. However, I do not plan to ever buy from this company again because of all the rebate run around. A very dishonest company if you ask me. Good luck to everyone else waiting for a rebate!

  • Same Rebate Issue

    By A3M3DWIIIPVI19 on 2005-12-31
I had the same rebate that issue others have mentioned. My rebate returned with the "invalid purchase date" error, so I gave them a call at the number listed on one of the below reviews (I also managed to find the number on their website... But boy was it well hidden.)

After failing to navigate their automated phone system a few times, I finally managed to get ahold of a live person. You have to select the option that you had sent the rebate in over 6 weeks ago, otherwise it tells you to wait 6 weeks then try again (by which time the rebate would be over and they would probably tell you there is nothing that can be done)

The lady I spoke to was nice enough, though either she was dumb as a brick or her company is trying to cheat people out of their money and she is immoral enough to go along with it. After giving her my tracking number for the rebate she told me that the date on my rebate was invalid. I asked her what a valid date would have been, and she said she didn't have that information (Which I find hard to believe, since it is listed on Amazon as being 12/31/05.)

So now that I feel like she is more than likely lying to me, I decided it was time to point out that there were a number of other people on Amazon that were having this /EXACT/ same problem, and that these people have written negative reviews on the site about it. AMAZINGLY her tone changed immediatly. The next words out of her mouth were "I have corrected the problem and your rebate has gone through." Strange how that works.

The CD case is fine. I haven't had any problems with it, and I have it fully(over)-loaded, but someone with Amazon needs to take a look at the rebate company's practices. They seem /VERY/ shady to me, and it reflects poorly on Amazon that they allow businesses with these kinds of poor practices to sell things on their site.

  • Poor quality - avoid
    By A3L5CPOUYWL5IV on 2006-02-16
I have a collection of over 1500 disks so I have bought many cd/dvd cases over the years and this brand is the worst quality on any that I have purchased. I would avoid this brand.

  • TINSTAAFL
    By A31SIIYDU8XUE4 on 2006-03-24
No free lunch & you get what you pay for...is that the verdict on this product?

Well, the poor rating given by those who have purchased this product has discouraged me from buying it. I need disc binders and the Case Logic brand, while being the original, is pricey. Low cost alternatives are needed, but not at the expense of quality and TCO (total cost of ownership). But the flap about poor customer service (rebates) and poor quality (zippers and sleeve binding) is enough to give me pause..... So, if someone from Xtreme's management is paying attention....fix it or be content to lose business. Price isn't everything to everyone in the markt for your product...

  • Not Worth the Money
    By AB7LVP0SMFN4I on 2005-10-15
The case itself is sturdy and the pockets are quality but if you intend on filling up this case, don't bother zipping it up because the zipper will break and become useless.

  • Another Rebate bites the dust.... Don't buy tech b products
    By AKZ3PJ3M6MEC5 on 2006-01-08
I just received my card today claiming invalid UPC and invalid purchase date....RUBISH!!!
I am very meticlous and I check and double check EVERYTHING before I send off the rebate...
RIPOFF! Somebody needs to report these people to the BBB and the Federal Trade Commission! Any lawyers out there hungry for a Class Action???

  • No Cash Back Here!
    By A1S9BGKDIAEZFD on 2006-05-16
Please don't expect to get the cash back from this purchase as promised! To date, I've been denied twice. The second time they said the U P C number was invalid. Only, it's the original U P C barcode! I was meticulous filing the paperwork, yet they state, "All required products were not submitted." Meanwhile, I have phoned AMAZ0N to lodge a formal complaint.

The product itself is average. I've used better and worse. That said, it's definitely not worth the full asking price.

  • Good for the price
    By A3F5A2JKPW2KH on 2005-09-11
The case itself is well constructed. Heavy nylon with good stitching. The sleeves leave a little to be desired - they are made of thin plastic. I am worried that with time they will start to split. Also, once one side of a "page" is filled, it's a little tricky to slide DVD/CDs into the opposite side. I would recommend this for the car or office - not for long-term archiving.

  • zipper broke after 3 weeks
    By A18PUN0K6BO6GY on 2005-11-18
Looks good, but zipper failed quickly. Still it was extreemly cheep in cost, and in quality. I would sugest you avoid this case.

  • Cases good, reebayte not
    By A1MYOQ6DC52TVT on 2005-12-13
Like the other revyuwer, my reb req was denyied, for the same reason, in my case for both the 224 & 264 cases, even tho both were well within the purch per. Nor did Amz post my prev rev several weeks ago. Wuts goin' on hear?

Btw, the cases are fine, esp for the post-reb co$t. And my spelling is usually lots better!

Updayte--funy, this revyu was posted right away, unlike the prev one. Hmm...

Updayte #2--I just called the 888-295-7718 # and got them to fix the reebayte prob. Both were updated to "valid" on their web site within minutes. I will follow up on this and post my updayte here. There is obviously a pattern here that needs further exploration.

  • Who wants a broken holder?
    By A1N6A0MML8Y7LY on 2005-12-18
We bought the 320 holder. The zipper broke within weeks! This means you can't carry or store the thing unless it's flat. So, basically the money we spent on it is in the toilet. Guess you get what you pay for. We'll be buying a quality case now.

  • Coming Apart at the Seams
    By A36RCTXS69THUV on 2006-03-17
In theory an excellent product -- room for lots of disks, relatively compact and attractive HOWEVER I purchased three of these (2 for me 1 for a friend) I can't say how his is doing but both of mine have faulty zippers, making it impossible to close the binders and therefore losing much of their attractiveness and compactness. (...). All in all, a disappointment.

  • Zipper also broke
    By A38PAL6E2NBG6M on 2005-12-31
Bought this case about 3 weeks ago. Smelled bad and gave us headaches. Then the zipper broke, and it's not the kind that you can fix either. I'll also be buying quality cases from now on. I got lucky and the rebate arrived, unlike the other reviewers on other sites.

  • TB264DKO 264 Disc Case
    By A2MTIUU7QRIJNS on 2006-01-12
    (...)

It has a lot of slots to put in your cd/dvd, but once it get full, the case became stuffy and hard to close, or even search around to find the cd/dvd that you are looking for.

  • The rebate is fine
    By A3LYN2E4EPYJU1 on 2006-01-20
The case is ok. I haven't started using it, but it looks to me. I want to say something of the rebate. I just got the confirmation email from the rebate center. It is valid. And the rebate center is the one I used a lot, which is trustable.
So I wanna say don't be scared away by the comments of the rebate. It should be ok if you follow the instructions.

  • Well Built Case
    By A2NBUAAKGMNODM on 2006-01-29
(...) It's exterior is very durable and the interior is built just like any other cd case. The only improvement I can see for this case would be if the pages were removable to aid in alphabetical filing without having to shift all of your CDs over each time you add a new one. It's tough to find CD cases that hold this many CDS and can still close without having to wrestle with the zipper. No wrestling required for this one.

  • Great CD/DVD Holder
    By A3NEISC2GFWM67 on 2006-02-03
This is a great CD/DVD holder. especially for the price. It holds an unbelievable 264 DVDs!!! definitely good buy!

  • beware, re- bate not honored!
    By A2HLWI96XCT0EY on 2006-07-25
i knew the cash back offer sounded too good to be true...and sure enough they rejected my upcs (i kept copies) only have hounding them and contacting the better business bureau did they say 'whoops a mistake' i have a fleeting suspicion this was intentional.

  • Can't beat this one either
    By A10DOOZR7VIIJO on 2006-03-18
Literally, you CAN'T beat this with a stick because it's soft side, but for $5 after rebates I must say...the ripstop canvas is durable and of high quality, although the zipper could use a litle beefing up. The pockets for the CDs are tuff.
I would buy it even at the current $15 AR price. It makes it a LOT easier to carry around 1/3 of my CD collection than if I hadda use those 32 disc deals.

  • perfect
    By A3O0MM7TQTZW8B on 2006-03-19
This product was perfect. it's a sturdy case that holds my large collection of cd's and dvd's.

My other cases were flimsy and wore out fast. This one has a hard outside shell and the inside holds my dvd's nicely.

So i have no complaints. and at the price i paid i'd say this was a great deal.

  • Be Warned!
    By A3PR1SW5QS1GDS on 2006-11-24
These Xtreme cd cases STINKs,literally! I don't know what kind of plastic material they are using and if they are toxic, but the smell is absolutely nauseous. I kept it for two weeks hoping the smell would go away. Nope. Finally I threw it away.
Other than the smell, quality-wise it is ok.

  • Value can't be beat
    By A3QXTJWBFCNJKB on 2005-06-02
The thing is bullet-proof, looks good, and a great price.
What else do these guy make?

  • too big
    By A1WAQF7OSS0HLF on 2005-10-07
these cases are good ....i haven't expected them to be big and wide....

  • Capacity, Convenience znd Portability
    By AMYCWEJL1387Y on 2005-10-12
264 cds (about 22 average size audio books) is about a maximum weight to remain portable, The Zipper and easily accessable pockets keep the contents safe organized and convenient. The handle strap compensates for the awkward size.

  • Goodu Buy!
    By A253GCLQRL161Y on 2005-10-21
I bought this product because of the rebates. It is a good product. The case is rather rigig and is difficult to zip open and close, but it is sturdy. I would never pay the full price for it, but then again I rarely pay full price for anything!

  • Weak sheets
    By A205EH8RY23FO on 2007-03-04
This CD/DVD case comes in handy because of its large capacity, but the plastic sheets that hold the CD/DVDs in place are weak and easily fold or tear. That makes it ugly, and I'm somewhat hesitant to use that spot again because I fear scratching the disc.

Everything else is good about this case. But the plastic sheets that hold the discs are the most important, so I wouldn't recommend this one.

  • DON'T BUY THIS
    By A1ZSUSELX0PZRQ on 2007-03-10
This is the worst dvd case I've ever bought. The second month I had the product the zipper ripped and now it won't zip. My boyfriend, the McGuyver that he is, tried to fix it but glueing the fabric part of the zipper together, but now it's connected but won't zip! Plus, the sleeves won't stay in the case.

In summation nothing in this case works. The whole point of it is to hold and carry my dvds efficiently, but in the end it causes more work.
