Displex Display Scratch Remover & 10 100% Pure Cotton Application Patchesx$12.99

(31 reviews)

Best Price: $8.99 $12.99

We not only have a great price on Displex, but we include 10 100% pure cotton patches so you do not have to buy cotton patches or cloth to use with the displex! (100% cotton MUST be used) It has come to our attention that others are selling the Displex ONLY on this listing and not suppying the cotton pads. If you buy this and you don't receive the cotton pads as claimed in the listing make sure to file with Amazon and leave them a bad feedback. THE PROBLEM: Mobile telephone displays scratch very easily and thus appear shabby and unsightly. Only a few manufacturers offer replacement displays and even then the exchange is usually very costly. THE SOLUTION: DISPLEX offers a simple solution for this widespread customer problem. With this new type of special polishing paste, end users have for the first time the possibility of eliminating the scratches in their mobile phone displays quickly and cost effectively in a do-it-yourself process THE USE: Apply some DISPLEX to the mobile phone display. Polish the scratched areas with heavy pressure for 2-3 minutes with a soft, clean cotton cloth. Repeat application as necessary for deep scratches. Remove residue Attention: do not polish coated surfaces; treat the transparent part of the display lens exclusively. Contents of tube of 5g is sufficient for approx. 8-10 applications. HOW IT WORKS: The plastic lens is lightly dissolved and polished with fine abrasive particles. The corners of the scratch traces are rounded off and the fissure bottom filled out with the material of the lens itself.

  • Magic Scratch Fixer

This product is amazing. I'd read the reviews and recommendations for Displex on PSP forums. Frankly, wasn't sure it would perform. My PSP display was pretty much trashed with scratches from a cell phone rubbing against it and then my lame attempts with a polishing kit, rubbing compound, and automotive polish at removing those scratches. Basically, there were scratches absolutely everywhere. It takes a long long time rubbing, but all the scratches were removed and the screen returned to absolute mirror finish.

A couple of tips - a little goes a very long way. Use only one or two drops on an area and rub firmly and for a long time. That tube is probably enough to completely polish a PSP screen 10 or 20 times. A lamp shining on the display can help show where the scratches are while you polish. Do not save the cotton cloth used to do the polishing - they are disposable (the kit contains about 6 squares). If you try to reuse the cloth, it will actually scratch your dispaly from the dried product. Rub until you think your arm is going to fall off, and then keep going. It takes a lot of work. The PSP actually has two layers, a sort of clear topcoat that is pretty thick. Then there is a base of plastic. If the scratch is deep, you'll rub down through the clearcoat. Not to worry, that clearcoat does not affect the view. Lastly, once you've gone through all this trouble, buy either a plastic film screen protector or a case. You don't want to go through all this rubbing again.

CyberCoolCats is awesome. I was also a bit nervous about using an Amazon partner. No worries in the world. In fact delivery was ahead of expected by two days. They did a great job shipping this quickly.

  • Amazing solution to my problem!

A small statue fell off a shelf above my computer desk and created a very obvious two-inch scratch right in the middle of the LCD display on my new 20-inch iMac G5. After several months of research, including calls to Apple Computer, I finally happened upon Displex here. I ordered it from CoolCyberCats and received the tube in about three days! I used one drop on one of the included small cloth patches and rubbed over the scratch for about four minutes. The scratch is gone! The product worked beautifully! I don't know if it would work on a laptop LCD if it lacks a clear cover layer, but on my desktop machine it was a wonder. Both the product and the supplier exceeded my expectations!

I really got this to get rid of some scratches on my Sony PSP. It worked wonders. I was worried that it would leave kind of a White residue and ruin the screen, not the case here at all. I tired it on my Mom's glasses, they're like new. I tried it on a CD, it's just fine. You only need one drop. The thing I don't like it that you have to rub it for a bout 2-3 minutes and your fingers get tired. It should be in everyone's house, you never know what will happen

  • Good product

It took a little time and effort but this product did get the scratch out of my week old 60 gig iPod. And that made my day.

  • Confused and Disappointed

    By A3DCOLLOW8CEA on 2007-09-15
So I bought this based on the positive reviews, but after using it as directed (both versions of the directions -- on the package it says rub vigorously, but on the tube it says rub gently), I got no positive results whatsoever. I spent about an hour trying to get small scratches out of my cell phone screen and a glossy LCD display, but the product did nothing for either. Now the LCD has a barely visible discoloration around the scratch, but otherwise the product did absolutely nothing for either item. Even though most of the other reviews seem positive, I'd say you should at least research a few other options before going with this one.

  • Helped, but didn't remove the scratch completely
    By AF0UPYPI1HHJQ on 2005-10-03
Displex definitely made the scratch on my cell phone less noticeable but it took several treatments with considerable effort.

  • This is the stuff for iPods!
    By AMNOMARB5UBWW on 2006-05-10
If you're looking to take the scratches off your ipod, this is what you need. Displex worked within 10 minutes to take out even the deepest scratches. I think Displex contains a courser abrasive than iDrops, which was ok but just didn't work well for me. If you're looking for something stronger to remove deep ipod scratches (the ones that make the screen look wet), go with Displex. You only need to use a few drops - just make sure the liquid coming out is white (like toothpaste) not clear; shake up the tube a little if it isn't mixed. Overall, a fantastic product. I'd give it six stars if I could.

  • Waste of time and effort
    By A3MOANP35RJRR6 on 2006-06-16
Bought this product to repair a cell phone and it did absolutely nothing. I read all the online reviews and was really pumped about it. To make sure it wasnt me, I tried it on my 20gb Ipod, that had some light scratches on it. Everyone on here said it would work on the ipod, but it also did nothing....

So much for the miracle product...

  • Don't Waste Your Money
    By A32IN6FURNRFZT on 2006-06-29
I bought this product to remove some lite scratches on my windows mobile phone, it did nothing to improve the appearance. I hope no one else bothers to buy this product because you will be very disappointed.

  • Don't bother!
    By A2VEFAY4OV6WNN on 2006-07-04
Total hype. This product does not work as claimed. Even after many applications and time spent with my 60gig video iPod the scratches remain. Beware that the product costs seven dollars and they charge another seven to ship it!

  • Good but buyer beware
    By A32XWBSZWC3SNR on 2007-07-25
This product works... everyone who says it doesn't work on your ipod... you're crazy, i have a 5th gen video 60g ipod and it was the black one and covered in deep scratches and looked hideous. In about 10 minutes i removed most of the scratches and there are only a few very light scratches now, with a couple more applications i think they would all go away.

My only complaint is that the tube is way over priced and comes about half full. It only came with enough to basically clear my ipod of scratches this one time and thats it. And it costs 13 dollars with shipping. Overpriced and the tube is only half full... but it works and i guess they don't have any real competition.

  • tooth powder works better than DISPLEX
    By A12M7F03WGKQQ1 on 2007-08-29
minor scratches may be taken out with too much rubbing and the surface is made translucent...not to good if you are trying to view the time on your cell phone...I used tooth powder to clean up what Displex did

  • Works on light to medium scratches
    By A1CHKAWX7FAOM4 on 2007-10-26
I have used this product for 5 years or more. I have used it to remove scratches on PDA screens (Palm and Sony), cell phone screens (Nokia), and camera LCD screens.

Success requires patience. A small amount is applied, and then rub and rub and rub. Wipe clean and check the scratches. If they're still there, repeat.

This product is not going to remove gouges, nothing can do that. It's not going to fix cracks. But if you have light surface scratches, and if you follow the directions, you will be able to successfully remove those scratches.

  • Perfect for my purposes
    By A1EE8EZLR8LJ9M on 2008-05-08
I will start this review by stating that my 5 star review does not cover all purposes. A month or two ago, my 600 dollar LCD TV screen developed a scratch that was pretty noticeable almost 100% of the time. I wasn't exactly sure how it happened, but it was not covered by warranty and replacing it would cost hundreds of dollars. I looked around for a solution to fix it, and was recommended a couple of products. Eventually, I settled on Displex.

My bottle came by itself, without cotton pads. However, I have several microfiber cloths on hand that I purchased cheap, so I was able to apply it. Don't use it with any cloth you wish to keep, however, as it will dry and potentially scratch items.

It took three applications of a couple of drops to turn this highly visible scratch into one which does not interfere with viewing at all. It's still slightly noticeable when the screen's off and I look closely; another application or two might fix this, but I don't really care as long as I can watch movies in beautiful High Definition without a large streak down the middle.

This was a fairly deep scratch, so I am unsurprised that one application was not enough for it. While I cannot speak for its effectiveness when used to fix an iPod or cell phone, I would imagine that it does superficial scratches quite well. It may take more than one application, but it worked quite well for my purposes.

All in all, I am very happy with the product. It's reasonably priced and effective, and a single tube will go along way. It saved my LCD screen and saved me a lot of money.

  • Works great!
    By A3NL19WFVY8KKD on 2006-11-15
I managed to get a couple of light scratches on my new MP3 player within only three days of using it. These were light scratches, only enough to be seen when looking at the screen at the right angle in the light, but it was enough to concern me. I purchased Displex and was able to remove the scratches in no time!

If Displex is not working for you, it is likely that you either are not using it correctly, or using it on material it is not mean to remove scratches from. I tried using it on some scuffs and scratches I built up on the plastic of my cell phone, and had no luck. This product claims to work on displays. No mention of anything else.

I've also read some complaints online about Displex leaving a "hazy" screen after use. If this is the case, the screen just needs to be buffed with the cloth until the haze disappears. This is much like waxing a car.

  • Great, but don't expect miracles
    By A1TNH5K22VP3P8 on 2007-05-14
At first use, I noticed just a slight improvement to my cell phone. But, using it two more times, I noticed more and more of an improvement. yet, some small, tiny scratches were still noticeable. Worked great, but do not expect miracles.

  • Displex scratch remover
    By A3OMQP23ZO48CT on 2007-06-22
5 STARS!!!! anyone that didn't get awesome results must be using this product wrong. First I used it on my Casio watch/stop watch that has a plastic crystal. It had deep scratches from gardening and beating the lense against just about everything. There were 2 deep scratches and many fine ones. I was going to throw it out so, instead I tried this. I polished for about 2 minutes and most of the scratches were gone. I put some more on and in 2 more minutes It looked like Brand New! What else can you ask for?

used on pda and I-Pod. Worked perfectly. I have enough left over to polish many more things. Great Product.

  • Didn't help..
    By APU8Y815GF4LR on 2007-11-02
I ordered this in hopes to remove some scratches on my new phone but the product didn't help at all. The scratches still show. It was a waste of money.

  • Not Bad
    By AC2HBK9LTTTXV on 2008-03-25
I had a deep scratch on my cell phone display. After many applications it took the scratch out for the most part. I can still see where the scratch was, but it looks WAY better.

  • It Doesn't work
    By AU2Y48APOE45G on 2008-04-23
I have bought this product for my Z9 phone. I went to Florida and scratched the LCD in a few places.

I have applied the polish, and the scratches are still there. There isn't much else to say.

  • Use this product with caution
    By A26V36O6S15BFX on 2008-05-27
I used Displex to remove a tiny but deep scratch on the screen of my new Samsung Blackjack. As I polished, the scratch began to grow flatter and wider. I just assumed that was normal. So, being the optimist I am, I continued to work at it. After several applications, I ended up with a 1/4-inch diameter "dimple" on the screen that is much more noticeable than the original scratch!

This product might work well on small, fine abrasions, but use with caution on deep scratches.

  • As advertised
    By A3OYRYE0NN4ER6 on 2008-06-07
After my BB got the screen scratched the second day I owned it, I started to shop for a new lens. I happened to find this product and was saved all of the time and expense of replacing it.

You do have to use firm pressure and maybe a second application if it is really stubborn,....but whoa, works great!

  • Works as promised
    By AW13QAXJW9HJE on 2008-07-01
I must admit, considering the hodgepodge of reviews for and against this product, I was a bit skeptical. But, since I strive to keep my electronics looking like new and I especially hate scratched up devices, I had to give it a try.

It took a few applications, but this product did what I expected of it and more. It removed the scratches from my new cell phone finish and polished it back into a mirror shine. I didn't use it for the display, but two plastic trim pieces which looked horrible in bright light until I rubbed on the displex.

It requires a little work and elbow grease, but gave me what I expected - results.

  • Works Great!
    By A3BEOCLH9RVATM on 2007-01-13
I am surprised that a couple of reviewers say it doesn't work. It worked perfectly for me. Perhaps they did not invest the 10 minutes of time to really rub it in. You have to rub a drop at a time for a minute or so and repeat a bunch of times. But 10 minutes later(if you have deep scratches like mine) you have a display that looks brand new. I could barely see through mine before and now it's like new. Be patient and keep applying a little at a time.

  • Perfect for psp
    By AFTVOR916QUTE on 2007-07-18
I got a psp back in may (its july now) and with it I bought a case which now I now does not protect it. It got covered in scratches ans I found this. Now my screen is cleaner than when I bought it my wallet is still full and I have a logitech case that will help keep it clean.

  • It did work, but I'm not sure if it wasn't just because of the extensive rubbing
    By A29VIVR3DE5UAF on 2008-07-01
I had a nasty scratches on my cell phone display (caused by a very unfortunate nail filer accident) and I tried all sorts of products that turned out quite useless. This one performed better, but only after really amazingly a lot of rubbing. At the end the scratches were gone, but there was this smooth dip on the display still visible around the edges. I covered the display with an Invisible Shield cover film (from http://www.zagg.com/) and now the dip is totally unnoticeable.

  • Made It Worse !!!
    By A2PK4P3R9SUIWE on 2008-07-15
Tried to use on a Motorola Z9 phone and carefully followed instructions to the T.
The result is, that where I applied the product, I now have a permanent splotch of milky haze on the display in addition to the original scratch that is still there.
Careful with this stuff. It doesn't work on any surface.

  • Works,,,,Well
    By ACM3ZF94BUZFS on 2008-08-01
i used this product on a Blackjack II screen that was covered in cloudy patches of scratches. It did take 3 applications, and about 10 minutes of hard rubbing, but hey, the cloudiness is gone.
however, there was one big scratch, and it didnt really work on that, so i would say..
    great for small scratches
not so great for anything else.

  • Really good, but not perfect
    By A3KTU2HKCBMFVR on 2008-08-29
My Blackberry screen got scratched and I really wanted something to take the scratches out. The reviews made it clear you really had to rub a long time and I did and did and did..... The result was that all the light scratches came out fine, but the deep ones needed multiple applications and still were visible, although much, much better than what they were. All-in-all, it's a great product, although not perfect.

  • be careful
