  I got my pair recently as an upgrade to the previous model by Koss(SB-40). This is a significant improvement for the microphone over the previous model, sound is roughly similar. I could not find a better headset for voice and sound. I tried blasting the headphones and recording via voice, it sounded as though there was no sound in the background. As for sound, sound quality is amazing for the price of the headset, their is almost a noise canceling effect on sound. Koss also has a lifetime warranty if anything happens to the set.

  a nice looking headphone with a decent sound quality which is perfect for my gaming needs, music, VOIP & chatting and while i watch some movies in my computer. i used it once for almost 4 hours continuously and the leather ear pads is really comfy. it may look small in the picture but i guess it will fit most heads. my wife said i got a big head but still this headphone fits perfect to me. also it's very portable due to its collapsible design. the only thing it lacks is a built in volume control which is not an issue to me that's why I gave it a 5 star rating. all in all, a very good bargain for its price.

  Wow, I can put these headphones on while playing games and I never have to worry about getting yelled at by the wife because I simply can't hear her. These display some pretty clear crisp sound and block a lot of outside noise. The mic is a little oversensitive. Any voice applications have to have the amplifier turned down quite a bit, but I suppose it is no big deal, just wish it was a little more natural and not enhanced. Still, this piece is better than my last 3 sets and also seems to be quite a bit more sturdy and comfortable to wear.

  I had the cheaper Logitech headphones which had a pretty spotty mic that I always had to crank the volume up on and the sound was ok, but now that I got these, I realize what I was missing. First off, they are full ear enclosures, so you are really immersed. Can't hear someone speaking or outside noises. They feel really solid, not flimsy like the smaller sets. The mic is excellent, even detachable. It picks up really well, very sensitive. Wish I would have bought these the first time instead of buying the cheaper ones, especially since these were in the mid-$30 range, which looking back now is a bargain. Will only buy this brand of headphones in the future, but I hope these will last for a long time.

  I bought my first pair of Koss Stereo Headphones almost 50 years ago (in 1959). I had just built a DynaKit Stereo System and I wanted a good set of stereo headphones to match it (stereo was quite a novelty in the late fifties). Koss headphones were rated highly even then and although I don't remember the model or price, I'm sure they were fairly expensive. Those headphones lasted me about 30 years until they finally gave up the ghost from a lot of use. Just recently I decided to buy a new pair of headphones for computer telephony and started to look through the large selection at Amazon. The Koss SB-45 phones caught my eye and in a fit of nostalgia, I ordered them. Since they were slightly over $25.00 I took advantage of Amazon's free shipping. They're just what I wanted. Nice and solid with excellent sound and microphonic qualities. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and I'm really glad to see Koss is still alive and well in the good ole USA. I highly recommend these inexpensive, quality headphone (with mic) to everyone.

• Too big but works great

  I use headphones all the time. I don't have a phone in my appartment, but i have Skype which i use to communicate and call all the time. Therefore a good headphone is important to me. For the past Two years i had (3) Logitech headphones from the same kind, and all of them didn't work eventually. Then i finally realized that i needed a change!
  
  So i got on Amazon and searched for headphones and compared them in other sites. After 2 hours i chose Koss headphone, and ordred it. I had the headphone with me in 5 days. The first thing i thoguht, is wow, i thought i had big ears, but this thing covered all my ears. When you put the headphone on, it kinda isolate the outside sound a little. For example, you don't hear yourself typing anymore.
  
  Other than being too big and having a little pressure on your ears in the beginning, i don't see anythign wrong with it so far.
  
  Its really great that the headphone can be folded, and its padding is better than other headphones. The sound quality is great, and the mic works fine.
  
  If you need a headphone quick, and dont' want to pay a lot of money for a top of the line headphone, then Koss SB-45 would be a good choice.

  This headset is a great deal. The ear pieces are cushioned, which makes them comfortable and helps block out background noise. As far as I know, the mic works well, also. I haven't had any complaints from people I talk with. The cord is about 6.5 feet long, giving you enough slack so that you don't have to hunch over your computer. Basically, for the price, this is a great headset.

• Good but not excellent

  I bought these because they seemed to have good performance for the price and the fact that I love the Koss Porta Pro headphones. Before the SB45's I used my Porta Pros with a glued-on mic I cut away from an old Plantronics headset, but I finally decided I needed a better solution for the microphone. I was a little disappointed with my new purchase though.
  
  Don't get me wrong, they are not bad in any way. It's just that the sound is not as good as my old Porta Pros', and it feels bad downgrading soundwise, even if the overall solution is good. The SB45's are comfortable, the mic is good, and the sound is good to. It just lacks a little in the bass compartment and has a slightly "tinny" sound to it, in comparison. I thought this was strange since it is a sealed solution (which the Porta Pro is not), and I always thought this would enhance the bass sounds, if anything.
  
  If you're not an audiophile (or if you're not switching from some really good headphones) they will be more than enough, though. Do remember that they shut out external sound very well, which can be both good and bad, depending on the circumstances.
  
  I just wish Koss would make a computer headset based on the Porta Pros. It would be kickass: Really good sound with deep bass, lightweight, comfortable and not very expensive. Oh well...

  Edited: at 5 months the plastic studs connecting one side with the headband broke -- requiring tape for a somewhat dodgy re-attachment. Can't really give this high marks -- as this looks like it could happen to others, and does not appear well constructed.
  
  
  I nearly sent this unit back as defective -- until I realized that the normal Pink Band = Mic, Black = Headphone -- are REVERSED in this unit.
  
  So if you plug the pink banded plug into the pink Mic jack, and so-forth -- nothing.
  
  Once that issue was resolved all was well, and the set performs up to expectations.
  
  
• Good value--two connectors!

  The title might seem strange, but the hardest things to nail down about these headphones is whether there are two connectors--one of the mic and another for the earphones. Even the the Koss site suggests there is but one. As the picture I've posted testifies, yes, there are two!
  
  Otherwise, I agree with the other reviewers. Good value. Lots (too much?) bass. I find the treble end a bit weak, but sound is always subjective. Large comfortable. The mic boom is on the left side. The headset can be reversed to put the mic on the right (the swivel allows it) but it would reverse right and left when listening in stereo. I wish the mic boom swiveled down just a bit lower, but the headphones can be tilted a bit to achieve the same effect.
  
  If I did not need a microphone, these would not be my headphones of choice solely for listening. I'd spend a few more dollars for something better. If something were to happen to them, I'd probably try something else (less bulky, better fidelity and spending more money in the process), but I've no real regrets since so many inexpensive products are awful while this headset represents good value.

  I wanted a good gaming headset. Looked around, and this was recommended. Boy, am I glad I followed that advice.
  
  I've dinked around with lots of headsets. Most expensive I tried was the Razer Barracuda headset, and while those got plenty loud (almost went deaf once when I turned off mute), the quality just wasn't there.
  
  These are like 30% of the price I paid on those, and the sound quality is AMAZING. Great range, great volume, etc. The SB-45 is dirt cheap for what you're getting. And they're comfortable, too.
  
  Gaming... music... everything is wonderful. I'd use these as regular music headphones with my MP3 player, too, but I'd feel weird wearing a big headset like this, plus a microphone.

  I bought my sb-45 after looking at the available models in this price range and I am very happy to have bought this. Sound quality is decent, so is the microphone. Specifically the bass is good and it fits snugly.I like the way it folds, so its easy to carry around. Overall.. good value for money if you are looking to just listen to your mp3s or chat with a friend

  The sound quality and mic are good. As other reviewers have said, the mic is very sensitive so you may have to turn it down. The headset is abit weighty for extended use but I find it reasonably comfortable. The one thing I wish it had is a volume control on the cord. My old headset had one and now that its gone I miss the convenience.

• Great inexpensive headphones

  I was previously using a pair of well-worn Aiwa circumaural headphones that I purchased about five years ago. I can notice a dramatic improvement in sound quality with these, for both movies and games, and the flip-down boom mic is great for Skype. Sound is very clear and resonant, and the bass is booming without being muddy.
  
  The cord is not quite as long as I'd like (another two feet would be ideal for my setup, with the PC on the floor instead of on top of my desk), and the padding around the ear cups is not as thick as my previous pair of headphones, but they are still plenty comfortable for long periods of time.

  Perfectos y comodos, puedes doblarlos y meterlos en el bolso sin problemas, hay que configurar el sonido de la pc para que se escuchen a la perfección, no son unos 5.1 pero el sonido para ese precio vale la pena, en cuando a un review que vi que decía que para los que usan lentes son perfectos cabe destacar que solo por las primeras dos horas despúes tendras las orejas entumesidas, aun asi siguen siendo buenos audifonos

  I am very happy with this purchase. The price was low. I like the over the ear design as it blocks out a lot of the ambient noise in the room. These headphones are very comfortable. My PC recognized them right away and Skype and Yahoo! Messenger worked with them without any problems. The sound quality is good, but then I do not have a high-end pair of headphones to compare them to.

  Excellent headset/mic. Headset is very good for listenning to music on your computer. The mic is very clear for using in voice chat, and is loud. You have to adjust your mic volume on you computer, but this mic is great....

  First let me say I prefer headsets that enclose my ear completely.I am using these headphones for online gaming and chatting and find them to be an excellent value. The sound quality is very good , mic has great noise canceling and is crystal clear on Ventrilo. I would not use them to listen to stereo music but for online gaming they are perfect.
  I have tried many headsets and most of them didn't make the comfort grade. I find these phones to be extremely comfortable for an enclosed ear headphone. I can wear them for a long time without any discomfort whatsoever. To the negative reviewer about they are too tight on his head I found that most headsets were too tight on my head but these are not.
  The are very sturdy. I really like the mic arm which is hinged (as opposed to the bending type)and clicks into position and be moved away when not in use.
  I can honestly say this headset is the best I have ever used. Congrats Koss !!
