Nothing Compares! The BEST nursing bra! By A2CIFNR7BWWLN3 on 2005-11-27
I own 6 different types of nursing bras, but this is by far my favorite. It has great support that is long lasting (doesn't loosen up). Opens easy with just one hand - easy release rather than a hook. Wide straps are easy on the shoulders (although I wish the wide part was a little farther back on the strap). If you like to wear wide v-necks, you might want to wear a different bra, though, since the straps on this one often show when I wear a very open neck. I have slept in this one, although it's not the comfy soft type that are best for sleeping. I wore this throughout feeding my first baby - for 17 months and am buying more for my second baby. Nothing compares!
Very comfortable bra! By A2PIA3D1TEZIDA on 2005-08-01
This is a great bra for any mother that is looking for a nursing bra! I live in the US and had a terrible time finding this bra in any store or anywhere on line. It's a fabulous bra. It's very comfortable, washed up nicely and provides great support. This is our second child and I wish I had these with the first!
BEST nursing bra for 4+ months nursing By A3HV5EOKJF6H2C on 2008-03-26
First let me say i do not think this bra would have been good in those first blurry months of nursing all the time. But, around 4 months, I missed my old bras that had underwires and were more normal- this one fits the bill. Before this one i had the seemless non-underwire bra by medela (amazing too, not quite as much support, but more comfy for home). Love how this one makes me feel like i'm not wearing a nursing bra. Gives amazing support and love how the cups really do stretch for when your boobs are huge in the AM. Get the medela sleep bra too- it is beyond comfy and perfect for evenings/nightime (stretches really well for the AM and does NOT give a uni-boob look!!!!). Medela ROCKS!!! you can not go wrong- I did not like the comfort bra they make- the sholder straps really hurt my sholders and was so uncomfy and gave more the uni-boob look.
Support and All Day Comfort By A1IJYX0EISH161 on 2008-06-01
Full figure nursing bras are hard to find. Versions that are comfortable and durable are even more difficult. Underwire bras? Nearly impossible.
This bra by Medela fits the bill. After Leading Lady decided not to make their cotton underwire nursing bra it left many people without a good underwire option for full figure nursing bras. This bra is a good replacement.
Sizing on this bra seems to run true to the sizing on the old Leading Lady bras. I take exactly the same size in this style.
It is comfortable, the underwires are supportive without risking pinching or pressure points. The straps are wide enough to be comfortable without showing at your neckline. The hooks are very solid and the plastic release tabs are easy to use. Also as a bonus they have a standard metal eye so if a plastic tab breaks or fails to hold you can easily sew on a standard hook to repair it.
The cups are nicely supportive with just the right amount of give. Though the material seems like it would stretch out of shape it wears like iron.
The whole bra wears and washes well, mine are washed in the washer with bleach, oxy clean or vinegar, and line dried and are holding up extremely well.
Improvements over the old Leading Lady Bra? Underwires don't twist and poke either under the arms or in the center of the bra. The bra doesn't ride up under the arms or in the back like the Leading Lady one often could. The underwires also don't shift in their channels and wear through the fabric.
Generally I'd reccommend trying this to anyone with a fuller figure who is looking for a good supportive underwire nursing bra.
Great bra for larger-busted girls! By A2PEQCJ55K4XM6 on 2007-02-17
After a long and frustrating search for a nursing bra in my size I was lucky to find these! Nobody else seems to stock bras in a G cup, and the few that I did find were very poorly made and even worse fitting with HUGE uncomfortable bands that rolled or felt like wearing a girdle or corset. This one is constructed well, supportive, easy to open/close and comfortable, fitting more like a supportive regular bra (I love the ones from Playtex, this fits similar to them). The straps are lightly padded and a good length for me, I actually keep them at almost as short as they'll go. The only complaints I have are that the elastic wore out fairly quickly, it's only been 7 months and both bras I bought are about ready to be replaced. There are "reinforcing panels" too which are mesh set into the side of the cup between the under layer and the fold down portion, those are useless as they just curl up, I ended up cutting those out to prevent the curled up bulge. Overall a great product, especially considering the availability of alternative products in that size range. They're also a good deal here, I paid over $50 each for mine at a specialty shop!
- Where has this bra been all my life?
     By A1PYGTCU8K4I0F on 2007-04-16
I've tried many, many, many nursing bras, and this is BY FAR the absolute best. Very comfortable and very flattering (compared to other bras that are comfortable but give no support or shape). Very easy to use and doesn't create a visible line through my clothes like other bras do. I love the padded shoulder straps and stretchiness of the fabric. Fabulous!!
- Best Bra Ever
     By AUIQ4K47Q6Y08 on 2007-06-19
This is, without exception, the best bra I've ever owned in 28 years. It is the first bra I've worn since I started wearing D cups that has truly, truly provided honest-to-god Support. I got the 36G because it's a nursing bra. I plan on ordering thier products again, once I stop nursing. As soon as I put the bra on, I could tell it finally fit the way a bra is supposed to - 90% of the weight-bearing is in the band, not the shoulder straps. While standing straight, looking in the mirror, I can actually see the underwire, there's so much support. It isn't until you wear a fantasitic bra that really, really fits right that you'll notice how much your lower back suffers from poor bra-support.
Your clothes will look better, and your figure will look slimmer since your breasts will actually be held out from your torso, rather than flopping down.
Had no problem with the shipper or speed or shipment.
- Great bra, except . . .
     By A3OL3WSQ81DM0U on 2006-10-04
Bra is really comfortable and easy to use. The material is soft and breathable and it looks good under clothing. The only problem is that the shoulder straps are extremely short and cause some ride up. I am not long through the shoulder area so any normal length strap would be more than sufficient for me. This would be 5-stars if they would lengthen those straps. I have another Medela bra in a different style and it has the same problem.
- Not my favorite...
     By A2JBREBK5TRXVQ on 2007-03-27
I found the band underneath the cups rolled under and wasn't very elastic...very uncomfortable. It fit great when I tried it in the store
(even had it fit to me by a Medela rep) but after a few wearings, the band
issue just soured the deal. Also, I had a hard time getting the cup fasteners hooked with just one hand. The fasteners are pretty fiddly. My favorite bras are, by far, the Bravado line!
- Just ok
     By AX5MAKJG3MRNV on 2007-05-13
This bra is very comfortable, as long as you don't have to go anywhere. The cup fits great but the straps are too short. The clasp is easy to undo, but if trying to reconnect it discreetly in public has been tricky.
- Not for me
     By A2NCAJAIFJC899 on 2007-05-31
I didn't care for this bra. The underwire cuts in to me and I find the bra cups thin and unsupportive.
- Straps hurt
     By A22FQYF1ZWA3XQ on 2007-08-27
This bra fits nicely in the cup but the straps are too short and don't seem to have any elasticity to them. After wearing this bra fo a short time I had red marks on my shoulders from the straps. Ouch!
- Absolutely wonderful bra
     By A1CFZM0AR08GTK on 2008-03-24
This bra is exactly what I wanted when I went looking for a nursing bra. The breatheable cotton is perfect and soft against the body, and comfortable to wear for hours and hours. The drop-cup clasps are easy to work open and close, which is great when there's a hungry, crying baby waiting. I was so glad to find something that fit me just right the way this does, and am so thankful for the wide range of sizes. I love that its seamless underneath all my clothing too, even with nursing pads in place. The only thing is that the bra strap adjusters in the back are a little scratchy-feeling sometimes. Otherwise, I'll still recommend this to all my nursing friends.
- Poor workmanship, otherwise nice.
     By ATDSJ9HC26QL5 on 2008-04-13
Ok, I bought this in nude in 38DD. The bra is supportive and fits well, BUT the clasps that hold up the nursing flaps do not stay clasped. The bra fit well and was not too tight, the clasps are just poorly designed/engineered. I mean, they would not stay clasped for even a moment. They are completely defective. I don't know if I just got a defective item or if they are all like this. I do know I am having a HECK of a time finding a well-made underwire nursing bra. If I do find one, I will update my review with the info. :)
- Very comfortable
     By A77LHDM6WM2IR on 2008-04-19
This bra is extremely comfortable and supportive. The snaps are very easy to use. The only issue I have with this bra is that the shoulder straps do not tighten enough.
- a good buy, but not the best
     By A14SS4VPUIB004 on 2008-04-24
It's a very nice bra as it stretches to accomodate the flacuation in size. However, the hooks don't always work, the straps tend to curl during washes, and it's not the sexiest design as it looks much better on the picture than in real life.
- Seems high quality, fits weird
     By A1GQFMSGBMIV6K on 2008-05-07
Being a Medela bra, it seems like it is very well made. However, for me it fits kind of weird. It "pokes" out in the center of the cup, instead of fitting flat. It is something I would wear around the house, but not to go out. I'll be shopping for something different, that I can try on first to make sure it is functional as well as flattering.
- Very comfortable bra
     By A1HT2KBEKR1OYC on 2008-06-06
The underwire is very supportive without pinching. The cups unhook easily with one hand. The straps stay in place and if fitted properly, the back does not ride up. I wish the straps were padded, the one displayed in the picture when I placed my order had padded straps. But I ordered a 36C so maybe the larger sizes have padded straps. I ordered the bra in white and if I wear a nursing pad and a light colored shirt you can see the pad. The fit of the cup is great and fits well both before and after I nurse. When my breasts are full, I do not spill out of the top of the cups (this was a major problem I have experienced with other nursing bras). I nursed my first child for 14 months and never had a bra this comfortable. I purchased this bra for my second child and once I realized how comfortable it was, I threw out all of my old nursing bras I bought from the store in the mall.
- Medela Underwire Nursing Bra
     By A3U59YCBG2A7I3 on 2008-06-14
These are the best nursing bras for "full figured" women. They provide great shape and support. They are also extremely comfortable. I highly recommend. Don't waste your time with cheaper, smaller bras. There is no comparison.
- Great bra for support but caused a plugged duct
     By A1W05NE1EY0BJA on 2008-08-26
I LOVE this bra for support and its the BEST nursing bra I've purchased in the 17 months that I've been nursing my son, BUT it just caused me to get a plugged duct where the underwire curves around the side of my breast under my arm. I spent all weekend wearing warm compresses, massaging it and taking advil and managed to clear up the issue before getting mastitis (which I've had before and know the symptoms of) but I know it was the bra that caused the issue. The pain and swelling was right where the underwire hits.
I'm very sad about this development b/c I really liked the support the bra offered and I purchased two of them already. I think I'm going to try the non-underwire version of this bra and *hope* it provides a similar level of support.
- Didn't last
     By A1FPI6ZF12I0AF on 2008-09-12
It started off okay, though there was some problems with the center wiring not lying flat, but then the wiring that came up under the arm began to rub. Then the wires started creeping out and stabbing me under the arm! Most unpleasant. So, the cup was fine, but the wires has serious issues.
- Best nursing bra for large cups
     By A2ZKDXEV87J9VB on 2008-10-01
I've tried the handful of nursing bras that come in a G or H cup and Medela fits best, hands down. It gives me the most flattering silhouette of any brand; it lifts and separates instead of bunching my breasts together into the one big boob that most other brands create.
- Great for experienced nursers
     By A2HBXKKQDS7KP7 on 2008-10-17
I love this bra. Any lactation consultant will tell you DO NOT WEAR UNDERWIRE while nursing in the first several months. You could end up with clogged ducts or mastitis. However, I bought this bra when my second baby was about a year and I love it!! It actually creates a great shape while still having room in the sides for where the milk builds up. It is comfortable and also makes me feel good about how I look. The other 'better-for-you' bras can definitely leave you sagging.
- Good support for full figure but has flaws
     By ABR8BKK5Q6PP1 on 2008-10-21
I've had this bra (I bought 2) for 6 months now, so I think it's time to write my review.
The quick release feature of these bras for easy nursing access is good, if you enjoy it popping open when the slightest bit of pressure is applied, mostly at inopportune times, like while just holding your baby, or holding your purse strap.
My breasts got big (40G) when my milk came in, so I had to get a big bra. From day 1, the underwire rubbed mercilessly IN my armpits. And about a month ago, the underwire actually popped out of the bra, in my armpit again. And now the other one rubs so bad on my armpits, I haven't been able to stand the pain, so have been avoiding the bra for 2 days now. Besides the over-support of wire on the sides, the wire in the middle fit confortably against my skin. The general shape is very good, it lifts and separates instead of bunching my breasts together into the one big uni-boob.
I do like that the bra has held up (besides the popping of underwire in 1). The fabric really hasn't stretched too much.
If I could make a perfect nursing bra, it'd be similar to this, but with hooks instead of quick-release clips, the wide padded shoulder straps would actually go back far enough to sit on my shoulders, and not my chest. And it would come in black, in all sizes! Not just the cute small sizes.
- great
     By A3KO3IO2QBCVI on 2008-11-17
The bra is great for nursing. But when it is worn all day it is uncomfortable.
