A great sleep bra By A12C0UER29529W on 2005-08-01
I wear a size 40DD nursing bra, and I purchased this bra in size XL. It really is very comfortable: it doesn't bind, the fabric breathes and the shoulder straps don't cut into my shoulders. However, the stretchiness of the fabric makes this a rather loose-fitting bra; I probably could have gone with the large size instead of extra-large. I would certainly never wear this bra while exercising! I've found it's best as a sleeper bra. It holds nursing pads in very well, even when lying down and rolling over repeatedly, and it's the most comfortable bra I own to sleep in. Buy something with more support for during the day, but use this one at night.
Light Support, Maximum Comfort By A3434W2YF66DYG on 2005-07-01
Though I really liked Bravado! bras for my nursing my first baby, I decided to try these with my second. The fabric is very soft, stretchy and comfortable and washes well. The packaging for this one says you can put it in the dryer and so far (4 months) it's faired well. It's great for sleeping in during the early weeks when you really need something to hold yourself and the breastpads in. But if you're over a B or C cup, it's probably not your best choice for daywear except around the house. Try Medelas other bras for that. If your at the top end of the range for your size, go ahead and get the next size up as they do run a little small.
Perfect By A3E87E5L7POCSH on 2006-01-20
At first I thought i wouldn't like this bra because it has to be pulled over you head to put it on. However, this is the most comfortable bra I bought, and I bought a lot of different kinds. This is perfect for engorgement and just plain daily comfort.
The best for sleeping By A22V03T0XJODMA on 2006-07-01
This is by far the best nursing bra I tried for sleeping. I am full figured (34F) and a sleeping bra was a must while I nursed. I found this bra to be both comfortable and easy to use while half asleep. I didn't feel that it had the best support for daytime use, but I imagine that if you were smaller busted it would work just fine during the day as well. I had a difficult time translating my bra size to S,M,L type sizing, but I sent an email to a Medela rep on their website [...] with my conventional bra size and she replied that I would need a large. I would definitely recommend this bra to others.
Doesn't fit well By A265B2Q04LNIJG on 2006-05-15
I bought this bra because of its great reviews. Pre-pregnancy I was a 36A bra size, so I bought the small size when I found out I was pregnant. 7 months pregnant, I am now a 36B and the small is toooo tight! After washing, it is extremely uncomfortable until I stretch it out after a few wears. It looks pretty when I wear it, and the clasp is easy to undo, but it's just too constrictive. Perhaps I would have liked it in a bigger size.
- Comfort bra is the perfect name.
     By A35GL3T7XNCLOI on 2007-10-22
This bra lives up to its name. I bought it a month ago. It is very comfortable. It is perfect for sleeping in or lounging around the house. I have worn it out also and find it offers enough support for a 34DD (Large) but I wouldn't go jogging. I'd buy this bra for sleeping/lounging even if I wasn't pregnant or breast feeding.
One shortcoming is that I could not find a sizing chart online through Medela. The link on Amazon was a deadend. The chart can only be found on the back of the package which makes ordering inconvenient. FYI- a 34DD can go with either a M or a L. My lactation consultant suggested the larger size because you don't want anything too tight which could inhibit lactation.
I find the clips can be undone with just one hand but I have owned bras with easier clips. The fabric does tend to pill over time.
- Love this bra
     By A2D24OE1GX5G25 on 2006-05-12
I wasn;t sure I would like this bra. After trying it, I purchased a second. It is so comfortable to wear, and easy to operate the clasp for nursing. The only downfall is that it isn's flattering under shirts because of its sportsbra fit. But it is so comfprtable that I wear it anyway!!
I highly recommend this to anyone!
- It's actually attractive!
     By A6QVK816BDNPH on 2007-05-24
I haven't purchased a lot of bras for nursing but of the ones I have, this one is very comfortable and it's even, dare I say, sexy. It works very well underneath racerback tank tops. Also, the 'one-handed attachment' for each side really only takes one hand. Buy a size larger than you normally would. It's narrow.
- Fantastic nursing bra
     By A2SKRRPCG54ZUZ on 2007-08-11
I love this bra. I have three of them. They provide me comfort (love the racer back straps so they don't fall down off my shoulders) and the support I need. I wear it to bed, during the day and even for the eliptical exercise. Easy to undo for nursing. Sometimes difficult to snap back up without two hands, but if I can't do it, I simply bring the cup over the breast and it stays until I can get it snapped. I highly recommend this bra!
- extremely comfortable!

I LOVE this product.. I loved it so much I went back and bought another few... out of the few that I've tried, this bra is the MOST comfortable. Not only that, I went from a 40B to a 40D, (kinda scary huh?)and still, very comfortable!! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!
- Order a size larger!
     By A6ZF4AXVYNG22 on 2007-10-19
Very comfortable, nice stretchy & high quality fabric. However -- be sure to order a size larger (!), even if you follow the sizing chart. I fell between small/medium, ordered a medium, and way too small. Had to send back (to Canada!) -- lots of extra hassle. But the large fits (still even slightly small, could have gone extra large). Comfortable to sleep in and enough support for daily wear.
- Comfortable while it lasts
     By A1CFZM0AR08GTK on 2008-01-06
I bought this bra actually from a different website for less. I wore 34G before pregnancy so I ordered a XL. It fits nicely and it is comfortable...but the fabric makes me feel hot, and I've only had the bra for about 3 weeks and the stitches came apart on one clasp, rendering it useless. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this bra. Not sure if I'll reorder.
- Good for around the house
     By ANZNQSC5XIXSG on 2008-01-16
I am 33 weeks pregnant and currently a 38 DD, I bought this bra in an XL size. I have been wearing this bra at night now since I got it and it is very comfortable- no tags, soft edges, etc. I can tell that I will have room when my milk comes in to still use this bra. I will definitely need a more supportive/separating bra when I want to go out but for around the house comfort this should be great. You can open with one hand as well!
- 5 stars as a transition and sleep bra, particularly for well endowed women
     By A1R2DJQY3DCM0I on 2008-03-07
I agree with the other reviewers - this bra is an AWESOME sleep bra. I got this when I first gave birth and discovered that the nursing bras I bought prenatally were way too big in the band as I grew three sizes during pregnancy. My lactation consultant recommended it as a transition bra while your rib cage shrinks and your breasts get engorged as your milk comes in. Then once your body gets used to producing milk and your ribcage has returned to its normal size, you will be able to buy bras that will fit you properly going forward.
I wear a 38H normally and own two of the XL size. They are tight but they are comfortably tight and provide just the right amount of support at night. I don't need nursing pads anymore, but when I used them this bra held them in place extraordinarily well.
My one complaint is that this bra does not give you a very attractive shape. Maybe if you are naturally perky you will find it gives you a good shape, but for me I just look like I have one big breast across my chest.
I highly recommend getting a couple of these for sleeping or lounging in, especially for the first 3 months of breastfeeding.
- Great for women who AREN'T nursing, too!
     By AUUVMSTQ1TXDI on 2008-03-20
I was looking for an attractive but supportive bra for larger chests (I range from a 36E to a 38DD). When I saw the picture of the Medela Comfort Maternity Nursing Bra in White it just looked so dammed sexy--and with great full coverage. So I took the plunge and ordered it (I didn't even know the individual cups "came undone")! I could not be happier! The puckering in the middle provides great separation; the one-piece design, the wide straps, sides and bottom band deliver terrific support. Disputing what one reviewer said, one can exercise in it. I know, I've done it and there was no bounce. And ladies, let me tell you, it is BY FAR the sexiest bra I've ever owned. The microfiber material is luxurious and the stretchiness makes it fit like a second skin--this bra easily puts the much ballyhooed Spanx line to shame! And by the way, my boyfriend *loves* the "lettin' `em loose" drop-down cup flaps which are very easy to detach in an instant, even singlehandedly! LOL! I am ordering another one!
