Perfect for use on the go By A31LDDJ91K9RZ5 on 2005-11-30
After a long two hour drive to visit relatives during which I had to hold a hand full of cereal in my hand over the seat to keep my hungry 18 month old happy, I went in search of this cup. I was so thrilled when it arrived that we broke one out and tried it right then and there. We are very happy with the Snack Trap. We've tried it with big things such as animal crackers and smaller things like apple bits and have had success with everything so far. My son was notorious for dumping anything I gave him in a bowl. While it is true that he can figure out a way to dump the Snack Trap if he wants to, I find that as long as I only give it to him when he is hungry, he uses it properly. We are very happy with this product and will probably be purchasing more in the future.
Sounds like a good idea but really a complete waste... By A11X9HWN09P7MC on 2005-12-07
The idea sounded intriguing so I figured I'd give it a try. To my suprise these cups gave me even more work. My son easily took the top off of it after I made sure it was on very secure and had a blast shaking his cup full of cheerios all over my entire car. So, I figured OK, let me try one more time just at the off chance I didn't have the top on perfectly. Nope, same thing. A complete waste. We threw ours in the garbage, no luck here on these.
Love it, Love it, Love it By AAL0BUL4GCT9U on 2005-06-23
This is one of the best products out there. This is a necessity in my book. My little ones love it too. I am happy because they get a snack anytime, anywhere, without the mess. They are happy because this is something they are able to do for themselves, and get a tasty treat. Only wish is to have more feminine choices.
My toddler still uses his! By A22JURDDGFT7GO on 2005-08-05
My son is THREE AND A HALF and is ALWAYS dropping his snacks, or tipping over the cup. He wont let me give them to him one at a time, nor will he except ANY help while trying to open a snack cup. These snack traps are GREAT! BUT it did take our little guy a few minutes to get the hang of it, Daddy had to show him, so I am guessing it would take even longer for a 12 month old to figure out... be patient, its worth it! We use it outdoors, INDOORS in the car, and just about everywhere. I fill it with cereals, goldfish, mini crackers, cheese, small fruits and veggies, and even popcorn! If he tips the cup and shakes it, food will come out (only 2-3 cheerios or something) or sometimes they get flicked up when the triangle pieces pop back into place. Of course they arent ideal for just throwing in the diaper bag, which is why I wish they came with "travel caps", or if BRU sold them separatly. Also, if you remove the lid (a bit tough to do) you can use the snack trap as a cup! Hes learning to drink from a regular cup, and with the two handles, it rocks! Also great for foods like jello and icecream (without the lids). Its easy to clean too. The only thing that annoys me is that BRU doesnt sell the different kind of covers, or many patterns, you have to purchase those off of SnackTrap.com... But... I love em', every parent needs to get them!
Useless By A2WAP3D72BH75C on 2006-05-03
This one sounded like a good idea, and when I saw this item, I envisioned a floor without a Cheerios trail. But, it didn't do its job, and we've gone back to a plain old bowl of Cheerios. In fact, the lid to this was so intriguing, my son just had to take it off, spilling all his snacks in the process. In fact, I think the temptation of lid removal encourages spillage.
- great for on-the-go toddlers
     By A2XH5VNHXVNDU1 on 2005-08-27
I like these snack cups! They are fun for my son to use, and they have definitely helped my car stay cleaner. Easy-to-hold handles, too. I would prefer if they were brighter colors and plainer (no animal faces or branding). The designs begin to wear away after a few runs in the dishwasher. Otherwise, great product! Cheaper here than elsewhere, too.
- Messy cup
     By A4SHV81VR52D6 on 2005-11-16
I saw 5 moms go wild for this cup in the baby feeding section of a store. The moms claimed it was the best invention ever and a worker said she can't keep them in stock. I looked at this thing and thought my 9 month old would get his hand stuck in the plastic that was cut into wedges that are for keeping in the snack. I saw several moms pick up 2 at a time so I decided to get one. Later that day I filled up the cup with cheerios and my son had grasped the cup by the lip, holding down the plastic wedges and began to dump out his snack. I thought this was just a one time accident and gave it to him several days later. He played with the plastic wedges pushing them down, then held the cup again by the lip holding the plastic wedges down and turned the cup up side down shaking his cheerios out all over the floor. That day it ended up in the bathtub without the plastic cover and he taught himself how to drink using this cup with handles.
- Snack Trap is GREAT...I only have one little complaint!
     By A2L33X4YUVJ3QS on 2006-05-11
I love the snack trap and so does my young child. It's great to have in the car...keeps them very entertained. They love the fact that they can get their food out themselves and feed themselves too. I would recommend buying the 3 pack as opposed to just buying one as I did. I'm planning to buy the 3 pack and keep them in different places (car, husband's car, highchair, etc.)so we'll always have one handy.
The only complaint that I have is that after using the Snack trap for awhile the plastic on the top that keeps the snack in starts to wear out. Thus making it easier for my toddler to dump out the contents of his snack trap.
- Perfect for use with strollers and shopping carts!!
     By A32N4PP4MQHVUO on 2007-07-04
You will love these snack traps!!! Don't let the reviews about the top coming off scare you! I've used these with all three of my children and only one of the kids has just now figured out to get it off. But I've found ways around that with just two pieces of masking tape.
The snack traps are best for use in strollers when out for walks or in shopping carts while running errands. I'm not a big fan of using the snack traps in the house or car because that seems to give my little ones (twins) too much time to figure out how to get ALL the snacks out of the snack trap. It's best to use them when you are within reach and can keep an eye on what's going on. I find they work best with "larger" snacks such as vanilla wafers or graham sticks. They do work with Cheerios's but as one review pointed out the Cheerios's can be shaken out of the snack trap by an aggressive little one looking for some messy fun... :-)
The snack traps work AWESOME with no throws. Just search on amazon under the word "no throw" and you will find a great way to keep the snack trap secure to the stroller or shopping cart.
- Every Parent needs these
     By A1Z2D4BVB7XFFV on 2005-06-19
I absolutely love the snack trap. I purchased mine online before they were available at stores. (The web site had many other great things for toddlers.) My son loves to eat his gold fish crackers out of this. The snack trap is much better than other snack containers because of the lid. Yes, occasionally a few crackers do manage to get loose but no where near as many as other containers. There is a slogan on mine that says "Because kids spill things". I think that about sums it up.

     By A2TCI0C6PWWLW2 on 2005-06-27
What a terrific invention!! We give our daughter all sorts of foods in these cups (Cheerios, Veggie Booty, Cheddar Bunnies, etc) and the innovative lids really help keep the mess to a minimum. Now that isn't to say we never have to clean Cheerios out of her carseat or stroller, because we definitely do! Still, she is by no means ready for a baggie or an open container, so without these containers she wouldn't be able to "snack on the go."
My daughter is almost 19 months old and cannot get the lid off the cup, but I have heard of children who can. I think my child is too interested in the food to spend time wondering about the lid!
- I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
     By A2PAKISEL0UN9R on 2005-07-08
I bought one of these snack traps on a whim. It was one of the best purchases ever! Really keeps the snacks in, but lets your little one independently toddle around without spilling. I think we starting using it around 12 months. It took a couple of tries until he got the hang of it, but then it was no problem. Now I can give him snacks in the car, park, store and not have to worry about him dumping them everywhere. I really miss it on the few occasions when I have forgotten to bring it along. I also love that our reasonably bright dog cannot get into it and steal the snacks (I don't think he like the feel on the flaps on his nose). So that is an added bonus. You should really buy this product!
- Didn't work for us.........
     By A1YLVVA7LDZ05U on 2005-10-02
I bought this recently for my 13 month old after seeing it finally being sold in BRU.....I was really excited! Turns out, i think maybe my child thinks its a toy. He loves to press down one of the "flaps" and watch all the cheerios fall out as he's shaking it. I've stopped using it bcuz the snacks don't just "trail" behind him, they are all over the place. So...what's the point of this? I spend most of my time picking up cheerios. I might as well just scatter cheerios on the floor myself if i want to offer some to him! I give it 2 stars bcuz its a great idea but it just didnt work for us.

     By AXYFPZ4LGFOTI on 2005-10-18
At first my son had a hard time getting his little fingers out of the "trap" without pulling additional snacks out and i still had to pick up food but now he has the hang of it and not as much food ends up where is shouldn't be.

     By A1M6CG5I0R03WE on 2005-10-21
Great product. Perfect for little ones who spill their snacks all over the place. I didn't think my son would like to stick his fingers in the bowl, but he doesn't mind at all.
- Must have for Toddlers!
     By A3O7NEAEZHKC1S on 2006-03-24
I love the Snack Trap! Wonderful tool - They prevent snacks from being spilled about. I have also found that they slow my dogs down in their attempt to steal my son's snacks. They are especially handy in the car so that you do not end up with crackers everywhere except your childs mouth. Now this does not prevent the kids from taking the crackers/snacks out with their little hands and throwing them about.
Great purchase - a must buy for a baby/toddler gift!
- Great concept, but....
     By A2PZ78ZE0ZUG1L on 2006-05-26
The idea behind the Snack Trap is fantastic, but as the other reviewers have stated, the lid does not attach securely enough. I know it is just a matter of time before my little one pulls it off and I'm right back to where I started!
- Great idea, poor execution
     By A3M974DKCE7E9E on 2007-01-14
For the first couple of weeks the Snack Trap worked perfectly. After that, my daughter (7 months old) figured out how to remove the top (it is just a soft plastic cover like a tupperware, but easily removed), and we have since been struggling to keep her from dumping, throwing, or shaking the snacks all around the house.
On the positive side, the flaps for the top are very soft, and when she does reach in, there is no worry about her harming her hands or fingers. If only the lid had a locking mechanism or was screwed on, then this would work perfectly. As it is, my daughter loves it, but we hate cleaning up the mess.

If your baby has fingers or teeth this is NOT a trap. They can easily take the lid off and scatter snacks about with glee.
- A MUST HAVE PRODUCT!!!!
     By A1A8UL9ASENT3A on 2005-06-20
I purchased these cups through a catologue about six months ago for my toddler twins. And they work great! I love them so much that I bought a few sets for their grandparents houses too. Sometimes a snack or two will escape but it depends on the size (ie. cheerios) and only when their chubby hands try to take out a handful of food. I keep them in my purse and I never have a problem of them coming out. I highly recommend this product for all small children and I now give them to new moms as gifts.
- 5 Stars for the Snack Trap!!!!
     By ANA2SZWXP7FVC on 2005-06-23
Hats off to the inventor of this product. I purchased one for my daughter about a month ago & LOVE it! Since then, we now have about 8 Snack Traps. I always pack a couple in the diaper bag any time I leave the house. I can't say enough good things about it. Now I don't worry about crumbs all in my car. My son who is 5 even loves using a Snack Trap. It is so cool. My friends all had to get some for their children.
Great product, Thanks!
- the best snacker ever
     By AB2KTGFXL766H on 2005-07-17
My son had to be shown what to do with this for a bit but he figured it out. He has not been able to open it and even likes using it as a teether (the rubber on the lid is great for teething). The edges of the opening are soft and flexible so your little one doesn't get hurt, trapped, or injured. At first he did make a little mess because he held down one flap with his thumb, but it was not nearly as big as they used to be.
- Buy Several!
     By A2SVOVF1JBWY5X on 2005-07-27
These little snack cups are great! They can be filled with Goldfish, Veggie Puffs, Cheerios etc. The smaller foods such as Cheerios do spill out more easily - especially when my little darling intentioanlly shakes the cup upside down, however the mess is much less than it would be with other snack cups. She was able to use these cups easily at 11 months. I often use toy links to attach the handle of the cup to her stroller, shopping carts etc. Snacktrap.com sells these cups in a wider variety of designs on their website, but they are more expensive there. They do however, offer the stay fresh lids that Babies R Us does not sell (I wish they would). Older children will like these cups also & they will get a lot of use, so I recommend buying several!
- Aren't you glad your a mom today...
     By A39Y0OQJJIRTL on 2005-08-04
What did our parents do besides clean up our messes? I mean really. I spent so much time cleaning up my Zachy's Cheerios and snackies before I got this cup. Just the other week, my mom spilled all of his snackies on the floor when opening one of his snack containers! I went the next day, Monday and bought one of these Snack Trap cups. Granted, it costs a good bit more than those little cups at a local Dollar Tree, but hey, isn't it worth it not to have to clean up after your little one AND the grandparents? ;-) Anyway, spend the extra dollars and get one!!! It is well worth the money. My little man got the hang of it after one showing. He loves to shake it and listen to the snackies inside, then he just reaches in that cute little hand and grabs a snack and just grins. He can take it all over the house and I don't have to go behind him with the vacuum. Now keep in mind, those Cheerios are small and sometimes they do come out, but only one to two at a time. Can't be 100% perfect, right? I highly recommend this cup for any mom or grandmom that is on the go or even just relaxing at home. 5 stars!
- I'm still cleaning up after him
     By A3DMFGDOZSNRSC on 2005-09-24
Although my 19 month old can't dump the all his OsOs on the floor, there's still a trail around him. Not a perfect item but OK.
- A Lifesaver
     By A1A3WU0ZV3LOPB on 2005-10-01
These are truly a lifesaver!! Sure, a few extras slip out every now and then, but it is incredibly less than if we used an open container. They are wonderful to use while we are shopping or riding in the car. I also leave one out around the house so my son can pick it up and munch if he gets hungry while he is playing.
- What a great product! We love ours.
     By A1GMS8119NAILJ on 2005-10-11
I have been very pleased with our snack traps. They are a handy, easy to use, easy to clean, portable way to let my son self-feed a snack away from his high chair. Yes, a few cheerios (or whatever) fall out, but it's way less than if I were to give him an open cup or bowl. (Occasionally, he even manages to pull the lid off, but again overall this cup makes snacks easier and neater). Also, he thinks it's fun to put snacks in and out of the cup through the flaps. Before, I'd have to hand snacks to my son bit by bit if I didn't want them all on the floor in seconds. Now, he feels more self-sufficient because he can feed himself.
- Brilliant!
     By AHTE5GPSLI75I on 2005-10-16
I can't believe I don't see them everywhere. We made a special trip to a store we heard carried them because we saw our friend's in use. Great for any kid that is ready for finger food. Keeps house and car tidy.
- Too hard for a little kid
     By A2YTZ8LSVXLULV on 2005-12-15
This is a good idea, but for a little kid, it's a little complicated. My son doesn't like that he get's his hand stuck in there between the wedges (and he's 1), and then trying to get it out, he dumps cheerios all over. Good thought, but I think it needs to be redesigned.
- waste of money
     By A1NUVP2V0E7JW8 on 2005-12-15
this didnt keep snacks from being all over the place. my child just thought it was a game to try to get the snacks out of the cup. waste of money.
