Todco GR300-2 Roasted Garlic Expressx$29.50
    (24 reviews)
Best Price: $34.95 $29.50
The world's first electric garlic roaster! Instead of heating up your oven to roast garlic (which can take anywhere from one hour to two hours), roast it in here - it will be ready in just 27 minutes! Shaped just like a garlic bulb, this handy roaster plugs into your kitchen outlet for roasting on your countertop. The roaster includes a roasting cup; to use, first add olive oil to the roasting cup, season with salt and herbs then place up to three garlic bulbs (removed of their tops to expose the cloves) into the roasting cup, cut sides facing down. With the pan now in the roaster, close the cover and press the Start button. When the light goes out, wait a minute to cool then remove the roasting cup by its handle. Place the bulbs on a plate to cool then squeeze out the garlic from inside each clove. The garlic is now mellow, buttery and nutty - ready to add to mashed potatoes or to spread on crusty bread.

Not necessary but fun and useful. By A2ITFUWLUYDOOV on 2005-09-11
You can roast garlic in the oven with great results making this more of a convenience than a necessity. I am also an admitted kitchen gadget fiend and basically want/have one of just about everything. However, knowing this about myself doesn't change the benefits of this product.
1. Easy and quick to use. The entire process from start to finish takes 30 minutes, 27 minutes of that is the cooking process - 3 minutes of your time to prep the garlic.
2. Compact machine doesn't take up a lot of storage space and looks nice sitting on the counter if you want to leave it out.
3. Doesn't require the use of a larger oven. This keeps your kitchen cool if the weather is warm and keeps your oven free if you are making a large dinner.
4. Roasted garlic is lower in calories than butter. I use less oil than the instructions call for with no negative results.
So if you can get over storing one more small appliance this is a pretty good thing to have. I also plan on giving these as gifts this holiday season with a bottle of fabulous olive oil and a garlic rope to our friends "who have everything."
Excellent By A243HAZQ3JHPOF on 2006-02-24
I received this for Christmas. I have used it several times a week since December. We LOVE roasted garlic. It's so nice not to heat up an entire oven just to roast garlic. This machine does a beautiful job and it is done in 27 minutes! We roast garlic and use it on small pieces of toast (appetizer for our wine parties), I ALWAYS put two heads of roasted garlic in my mashed potatoes. I have really put mine to the test and so far, I can't complain.
I just ordered one for my MIL because she loved mine.
The ONLY negative I can think of is if you needed to roast more than two small heads of garlic, then it wouldn't fit in this unit and you'd have to use the oven then. I LOVE this machine!
I'm not gadget-y, but this is great! By AULRBZMQ5OMAM on 2006-07-17
I don't normally use alot of electronics in the kitchen-- hardly even a blender, so this is a rarity for me, but I love it. I am a huge fan of roasted garlic, but also live in Florida, where it's a BAD idea to have your oven going during about half the year. This machine roasted 3 bulbs to creamy perfection with no scorching and the outside of the roaster was only a little warm to the touch. And clean up was just a few seconds. Also, I have the terracotta-colored machine and it looks downright cute on the counter.

This isn't a kitchen essential, but it's nice to have if you are a gadget junkie and garlic lover like me! The garlic roasts just as it does in the oven and fills the air with that wonderful aroma. This works great for me, now I can roast one head of garlic or three!
Garlic Roaster By AQAXRT0PUEY75 on 2007-01-11
Great product -- I love it! Recently bought one for my sister for Christmas. It's fast and does a great job. Very very easy to use and is done in 20 minutes. I highly recommend this one.
- garlic roaster review
     By A26TX1PADSO474 on 2007-01-15
The garlic roaster is exactly what I expected. It is easy to use and the garlic turns out wonderfully. The only downfall I can see is that if you purchase heads of garlic that are too large, they will not fit neatly into the roaster.
- Best present ever!
     By ANF5BP1SD3Z3O on 2007-02-08
I got this as a present from my mother and father-in-law and it is terrific. I had a terra cotta garlic roaster but rarely used it because it took too long to wait for the oven to heat up and the bottom where the garlic and oil sat was shallow and bubbled over each time and when I used the reccomended amount of oil but if I put less oil in the garlic burned.
This is easy and a dream to use. I got it as a Mother's day present from my in-laws and I used it six times the first week. I continue to use this two to four times a week and the roasted garlic has come out perfect each time; I tried the roasted garlic dressing recipie in the back and it was excellent. The terra cotta color compliments our kitchen which has stainless appliances and dark granite counters; there is cord storage on the bottom of the appliance.
It does not take up a lot of counter space. It only takes a minute of preparation and a pre-timed 27 minute cycle to get great roasted Garlic.
Just a few easy steps(the first time make sure the terra cotta ring is clean and insert it in the spot in the bottom of the unit):
1) add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the roasting cup and sprinkle salt and pepper into the oil
2) prep the garlic by cutting of the top of the bulb and removing any loose skin; the cup fits one large bulb or two average sized bulbs
3) place the Garlic cut side down into the olive oil
4) close the unit and turn it on, when the unit is almost done the light will blink in approx 27 minutes, when the roasting cycle is finished the unit shuts of automatically so no burned garlic if you get distracted
5) use the plastic handle that stays cool to the touch to take the cup out of the hot appliance and turn it over onto a serving plate
6) enjoy the best tasting easiest roasted Garlic ever - serve hot I like to serve it with a fresh crusty bread
One caution: If you have a toddler like I do please find a spot to operate this that is far enough from curious hands because this appliance gets VERY HOT; I sit mine far back on the counter and keep a watchful eye on my toddler.
We use ours two - four times a week and it always delivers delicious roasted garlic with minimal effort; worth the money.
- So Easy and Works Great!
     By A5YCF49NFT3SI on 2007-11-27
Foolproof roasted garlic every time, in only 30 minutes. Easy to make, easy to clean. I am ordering another for a present for my sister. This thing is a classic!
- Just wonderful!
     By A3F1U9KK2LGGPA on 2007-01-18
So few countertop appliances are worth the space they occupy. This one is well worth it. We used very often, with consistenly wonderful results. We tried cooking garlic, but this is so much easier. We find ourselves making garlic snacks to blend with crackers, goat cheese, olives and other wonderful fare.
We could not recommend this countertop device more heartly.
- My favorite kitchen gadget!
     By A32VNAWE89LQYF on 2007-09-15
This is my favorite kitchen gadget! I love roasted garlic and not having to heat up the whole oven is great any time, but especially in the summer. However, when roasting 2 or 3 heads of garlic (the max amount that fits in the roaster is 3), I have found it necessary to roast the heads twice, i.e. roast the garlic for 2 of the roaster's 27 min. roasting cycles; only one roasting cycle doesn't leave the garlic browned/golden caramelized enough. Makes no difference though, it's a great little gadget. I plan to order a few more to give to friends for Christmas!
- Garlic Lover's Unite!
     By A2CQP0WHMKYTBC on 2007-01-09
We love roasted garlic but living in the desert it is not practical to run the oven for 45-60 minutes as usually required to roast garlic cloves. This little unit solves the issue - a compact, efficient garlic cooker. In 27 minutes you have your roasted garlic with the use of a little olive oil and salt to taste. I found I could purchase peeled cloves in a jar so I now just fill up the "Garlic Express" and cook up a week's supply at one time and then refrigerate. Very happy with this item. Puchased one for a gift as well. Looks cute in the kitchen. Would highly recommend.
- does what it says - and works well
     By A1AD9C904HUEQI on 2007-03-16
You cut the top off a garlic, put a few tsps of olive oil in and close the lid and hit a button and in 27 mins it's done and it tastes great. I really have no minuses with the product - it's easy to clean (the metal dish) and works. Maybe the only thing that would be good is if it told you when it was done (i.e. 3 minutes left, etc). As it is, it blinks when its a few minutes done then the light turns off so you know when to remove the garlic.
- Great Garlic Roaster!

This product is simple to use and produces excellent roasted garlic every time. Add some balsamic vinergarette to the grape seed oil when cooking the garlic!
- Love it
     By A2EHRETRUDKZE6 on 2007-07-22
I wanted to have some roasted garlic, but it was the middle of summer and I don't have air conditioning. I thought there must be something that can do it without having to have the oven on for a small thing like a head of garlic. I found this product. What a great thing. The garlic turns out perfectly with out having to waste the heat of the whole oven. Easy to clean up. I loved it so much I bought one for my friend. She loves hers too. Great
- How did I live without this for so long?!
     By A3LJKX6ZH8JAHZ on 2007-11-06
I had never even heard of an electric garlic roaster until I was on vacation and saw one in action. Before I had used the old fashioned terra cotta type.
This roaster is awesome! In less than 30 minutes you have hot, delicious roasted garlic! We use ours all the time. I mix the garlic into mashed potatoes. I make garlic butter. I mix it into various casseroles. If you like roasted garlic you NEED this machine!
- I love this thing

I replaced a broken terra cotta garlic cooker with this electric model. So simple and very effective.
- If you like roasted garlic you need this
     By A9JB1RP43FDW2 on 2007-11-21
I thought I really didn't need another kitchen appliance, but this works great and fills a real need for me. I love roasted garlic but I never wanted to deal with making it in the oven. The Roasted Garlic Express makes it easy to do and it comes out consistently excellent. It claims to hold three bulbs of garlic. I found more often it would hold two, and maybe a third very small one or partial one. I am very happy with this product.
- Perfect for Roast Garlic

I really like this product. It is simple to use, easy to clean, and makes wonderful roast garlic. It works exactly as advertised.

Works great. Easy to clean. Keeps from having to fire up the oven which saves money and keeps the kitchen cool.
- Necessity for Roasted Garlic Lovers
     By A3BIOCRLSQKQMC on 2008-02-02
I have used my Garlic Express for about 1-1/2 years. Works like a charm. I rarely roasted garlic in the oven because who in their right mind heats up a whole oven just for a few heads of garlic? The Garlic Express makes it easy to eat that garlic that all of us need for health. Lately, I have been roasting small elephant garlic heads in the Garlic Express. I find I like elephant garlic much better roasted than raw. I have also given the Garlic Express as a gift and it was much appreciated.
