Simple and effective By A1MY46RGWIBVJS on 2007-09-30
Just installed one of these. No problems and works fine with my Samsung 46-inch LCD.
Instructions are clear and complete. They are generic instructions for a variety of televisions but include an 18-page list of TV models indicating exactly which of the bolts, spacers, washers, etc. are to be used with each model. Each variety and size of this miscellaneous hardware comes individually packaged and labeled to match the instructions.
The general idea is to attach the wall plate to the wall; attach the brackets to the TV; then hang the TV (via the brackets) on the wall plate.
A few installation hints:
1) It is a two-person job so plan on having some help. A second person is a big help when lining up the wall-plate to be sure you drill the holes so that the TV ends up level and in the position you want. And, chances are your TV is too heavy or bulky to be moved safely by one person anyway.
2) You will want to read and re-read the instructions before you start.
3) Once you have a feel for the instructions use a yellow highlighter to mark information specific to your situation and to mark the packaging for the bolts, etc. you need.
4) Use of a small mirror and flashlight can help you direct the long allen wrench to the bolts that lock the brackets to the wall plate. Holding the flashlight is another place where a second pair of hands can help.
5) Do not adjust nor lock-in the tilt until after you have connected the wires to the back of the TV. Better yet, attach them before hanging the TV onto the wall plate.
UPDATE:
I read in another review that you should have a level and a stud finder. I probably should have mentioned that in my hints above but didn't think to since I already had those things. So, I agree, you will want to use those to do the job correctly. For the stud finder, get a reasonably good one as the cheap ones are not much better than tapping on the wall and listening for the best sounding spots. I have a Zircon 60369 Studsensor I65 Onestep Center Finding Stud Finder (which I bought at Lowe's). It says "Center Finding" but what I like is the way it also identifies the edges of studs. If I can get repeatable locations on both edges and the center then I believe I have found the stud! Zircon sells more expensive models so if you have difficult walls (e.g. plywood, or plaster with lath) you may want to consider those, but this model worked fine for my typical 5/8" drywall over 2x4 studs, even with some plaster over the drywall.
Another good tip I saw was to attach the brackets to the TV first thing. This will allow you to measure more carefully exactly where you want the wall plate. Come to think of it, this is exactly what I did, but for a different reason. I wanted to be sure the brackets would fit my TV before committing myself to drilling holes in the wall!
Wrong item description By AV8Q2ZO5TFXHG on 2007-10-09
I just purchased this for my 60" TV. It does not fit at all.
The description said 32" - 63", it actually should say "selective 32" - 60" TV. It doesn't fit all tv sizes. If you need one, must check their website with the specific TV brand and model number before you purchase the mount. Waste my time and money.
One touch tilt??? By A3PL1YO02TUZGH on 2007-10-11
The TV wall mount is of good quality, but it is by no means a "One Touch Tilt" model. Both of the brackets have adjustments on them and consequently they must both be adjusted in order to tilt the TV up or down. Not a bad TV mount, but it is not what I ordered. Be careful when purchasing a flat-panel TV mount. Do some research and visit the manufacurers website before choosing which model you want. After you choose the model that fits your application, go back and find it on Amazon. Do not rely on the product descriptions listed on Amazon because I have found several of them to be inaccurate. I hope this info will help others make a more educated choice when they purchase their TV wall mount brackets.
Good solid mount. Very satisfied By A14O1TITS9M9XR on 2007-07-02
I received this tilt wall mount within 4 days of ordering and it arrived in time for me to have my new 42" Samsung up on the wall by Saturday night. I read through the instructions before I got the tools out and was chagrinned to find that I thought I was going to need a new tool to tighten the specially designed hex screws that came in the hardware pack with this kit. Then I figured out that the very long rod shaped like an allen wrench that came with the mount was, in fact, the tool I needed to tighten down these special hex screws that have a small metal post in their centers. Confused? So was I until I realized that I had the tool all along. Funny thing though was that this tool and how to use it is mentioned nowhere in the instructions for this Peerless product.
Having said all this, I would buy the mount again. It is sturdy, works as it is described in the online ad and is doing an admirable job of keeping the TV up on the wall.
Friendly Warning By A3GX2WCDIYVT4N on 2007-10-14
Be aware that many of the mounts on Amazon are incorrectly labled for TV size. The mounting bracket for this unit is only 30" wide. The mounting holes on the back of my 47" TV are 31" apart! Therefore this unit will not work. The best bet if you want this brand is to go with tht ST670P. It's mounting bracket is 37" wide. Though I doubt it will support the 73" TV it claims it should work for TV's in the 50" range.
- Great product,exelent quality,love to have it !!!!!!
     By A2M8RCURYXCB2F on 2007-05-26
The wall mount arrieved via UPS ground free shipping in 4 days,it was very easy to install, had all the bolts and screws with a list of TV brands matching the bolts for your TV. THAT WAS GREAT !!Can be installed on 2 or 3 studs (32 inch appart)The instructions are clear and easy to follow. All you need is someones help to hang up the TV. Mine is a 50'MAXENT HD PLASMA,125 pounds. Before I installed it I tested the wall mount by hanging myself on it(165pounds),I mounted it on 2 studs with the 4 lag bolts provided and I was a little sceptical, but it passed my test and with the help of my wife Naomi,we hung up the TV and we love how it looks. Also if you have it mounted higher on the wall, the tilt feature is very handy and the mount comes with a long "L" shaped wrench to access behind the TV for tilt adjustments. Before I tried more expensive wall mounts but this one has the same or better quality and definetly better design and features. I RECOMEND IT FOR ALL FLAT SCREEN TV OWNERS WHO WANT TO HANG SAFELY THEIR TVS AND LOOK GOOD.(AND THEIR WALLET TOO)!!!!!!

no problems at all, came with everything you need, tons of screws, bolts, a special tool for tilting while mounted, nice black coated metal, not too heavy but very strong. go for it!
- Easy to install
     By AWZWSF70T5NKW on 2007-07-21
Installed easily. Fit perfrectly for a 50" plasma. Tilt function is really nice if you need to add cables to the back of the TV.
- Great Product
     By APKQBS76L6EP1 on 2007-05-22
Easy to install with great packaging and the nuts/bolts were individually packed. The instructions where easy to follow. Might be a little tricky to mount on 2 studs if they are 24" on center apart. Also as usual Amazon was great. Shipped out the next day and it was on my doorstep in 2 days.
- no frills, but gets the job done.
     By A37JCLPTVNAQIN on 2007-10-10
I got this mount with the Samsung FP-T5084 plasma television, which came as a package deal from Amazon. Taking it out of the package, it doesn't really appear sturdy enough to hold a 120 pound TV, but once I got it up on the wall, it works just fine. One thing to note (as other reviewers have noted) is that it ships in black and not as shown here- not a problem for me as it matched my television, but I never saw a color selection option when ordering.
Everything needed to complete the installation is included, and it's just a simple matter of matching your TV with the appropriate mounting hardware. The installation took two people and it took us approximately an hour to get everything up and functional, but only because we got it set up the first time and then chose to move it down a little lower on the wall. The only tools needed are a phillips-head screwdriver and a good drill to get the lags (provided) into your studs.
I'd recommend if you're looking for a good, inexpensive wall mount that includes the tilt function.
- Good mount BUT, order the other model for 50"+ sets
     By A1UIUW0S3L8VAK on 2007-12-20
This mounting system is very strong, well made, and the tilt mechanism works great. The locking screws that secure the TV arm brackets to the mounting plate add an extra level of security.
However, it's a real shame the wall bracket isn't just a couple of inches wider, so it would span 3 studs (on 16" centers). I should have read reviewer G. Knight's comments about this, before ordering.
I should have checked my stud locations before ordering this mount. I discovered that the centerline of my optimal TV location on my wall, was almost directly over a stud. So, I had to shift the mount left to the farthest recommended holes. After mounting the TV on the bracket and shifting it to the right to compensate, the wall bracket flexes by an undesireable amount.
If you are going to mount a 50" or larger TV on your wall, and want a precise placement, I recommend that you avoid this model and go with the ST670 series instead.
On the other hand, if you have a wide latitude for positioning your TV on the wall, or are lucky enough so that your TV's centerline lies directly between two studs (plus or minus 2"), this mount will do the job very nicely. My advice is, determine where you want your TV then check to see if your stud locations are optimally placed, before ordering.
- Excellent!
     By AOL37C13EVU4F on 2007-10-17
Got this product in a timely manner. Beautiful black color matched my Samsung 50" plasma (97 pounds). We set this up on metal studs with 24" space between them (i live in a loft that was converted from an old shoe factory.). From measurement to drilling, to putting the mount on the wall, and hanging on it (my friend who helped was 150lbs, and he was doing pull ups on it), to using the provided screws to put the brackets on the tv, took about 45 minutes. The end product looked great!
PROS:
One of the things I really thought was great was that the mount came with screws and a sheet that tells you which ones to use for your tv. This made the whole process easier and more efficient.
Also, since the mount plate is so wide, and has many holes, you can use it for studs with spacing that ranges from 12" to 24", something that not a lot of other mounts can do.
CONS:
Buy your own bolts for putting plate on the wall. Shouldn't be too expensive, maybe 10 bucks more at the hardware store, for 4-6 molly bolts or even cabinet anchors (if you are going to be installing on metal studs).
CONCLUSION:
For the price this was an awesome deal. Best buy was offering to do the installation for 300. We bought some screws and ended up doing it ourselves for free. Easy to do. Just gotta have the right tools (drill, measuring tape, level).
- Easy to install and a solid mount
     By A1F9W6TSPAWT36 on 2007-12-11
I was a bit dubious about installing this myself, but when Circuit City quoted me $499 PLUS the cost of the mount to have their FireDog people do the job, I decided I would take on the project myself.
This item is boxed with a huge variety of hardware to attach it to almost any flat screen. This was a little overwhelming upon opening the box, but a quick review of the instructions calmed my nerves a bit when I realized I would only need one set of bolts/screws.
The printed instructions were clear and thorough. With a little care and attention to details (okay, so maybe a lot of torque, too, to get the bolts into the studs) I got the mount up on the wall, flat and level. The brackets attached to my 42 inch Panasonic plasma in a flash. With a little help from the other half, we hung the TV on the mount and marveled at how the mount didn't even budge under the weight of the TV.
The tilt function isn't one touch by any means, but it is simple and very secure. You need to loosed two 'screws' on the brackets using a very long allen key (included), loosen two more screws by hand and then tilt the TV to your desirec position. Then you repeat the process with the screws to tighten. Simple enough.
Overall, I am very pleased with the product and the results. If you are questioning your ability to undertake this job yourself, this mount should give you the confidence to get that TV up on the wall.
- Awesome wall mount
     By A2DRBM5EDN02T1 on 2008-02-07
I'll be honest... I didn't like the idea of dangling my $3000 investment on the wall. But after searching (with no luck) for a TV stand I decided to hit the web and do some research to find a Wall Mount. And I'm glad I did. My Sharp Aquos 52" weighs in at about 85 pounds. I wanted something that would hit at least two studs and this mount fit the bill.
Installation was easy and the instructions were pretty straight forward. Once I found the center of the studs I used my laser level to make sure this baby was level. I drilled the pilot holes for the top two screws and then secured the mount to the wall (but not all the way right). I then drilled the pilot holes for the bottom two screws.
The kit comes with plenty of screws for a variety of different TVs. The included installation instructions tells you what screws to use with your TV. Check out Peerless' website (www.peerlessindustries.com) to see if your TV is compatible with the mount.
All in all... This thing is awesome. The mount is rock solid which means... so is the TV.
- Watch what size you order.
     By ACKCI1J3KXF14 on 2008-03-15
I am giving this 5 stars, but based on the other Peerless mount I ordered. I ordered this one based on the 32-63" size description, for a 58" plasma, but then found that due to the way my studs are spaced and their position (one stud running almose down the center line of where I was mounting my plasma) that I was better off with the next size up (the one rated for up to 72" plasma, I believe) which allowed me to anchor the wall bracket on 3 studs instead of just two. I returned this one to amazon (no hassle, shipping free returns as always!!) but unfortunately they did not have the other size at the time so I had to order somewhere else....but I always check amazon first, and would rate Peerless wallmounts excellent in general. (You may want to go to the Peerless website to review the owner's manual PDF and installation instructions to see what I am talking about and verify what size mount is best for you. www.peerlessindustries.com.
- Canceled order but still listing at Amazon
     By A19N7GMN47LK1A on 2007-06-29
I ordered this item from RitzCamera from amazon. They don't have tracking number that I've learned from review. So i waited till the day promised. Then shipment doesn't arrive and I recived email that expalin they don't have one with fifty four dollar with shipping six something. I checked Amazon site but they still listing exactly samethings with same price.
I think this RitzCamera company cannot manage their own listing and stock.
I just waste whole week to wait to item arrive, it's stressful!
I don't recommend RitzCamera but item itself I still hope ti get soon.

Just make sure you size your t.v. at the peerless website first. Had it on the wall in 10 min and done in 20. I am also a fan of loctite on the t.v. bolts.
- great mount and customer service!
     By A239PTK7HELE4L on 2007-12-14
i bought this mount earlier this month in anticipation of mounting my new sony KDL52W3000 LCD monitor on the wall in my apartment, which is framed with metal studs. i was full of questions and most skeptical as i didn't know the specs (i.e. gauge) of the studs, etc. i purchased an edge to edge stud finder ($20 at home depot) and as prescribed in the instructions, located the middle of the metal stud. if you are going to be installing these on metal studs, make sure to purchase the peerless ACC415 metal toggler kit. you won't be able to install it on the walls without it.
i was apprehensive when i received the mount as i reviewed the instructions; would this work on an interior wall? the television weighs nearly 70 lbs without the stand and the last thing i wanted was to come home and find it on the floor! i went to the peerless website and used their "live chat" feature (again, i was skeptical) and recieved definitive answers to my questions regarding whether or not this would work. yes, as long as i used the metal togglers and installed as the instructions specified, it would in fact support up to 150 lbs!
when i finally got around to marking out the spot where the set was going to be, i installed the brackets on the back of the set; evidentally, sony changed the depth of the mounting screws on the rear of the set and two of the screws appeared too long. again, i consulted the "live chat" customer support area and they explained that it was okay to use the shorter screws as long as they made three complete turns into the set.
so with that, i proceeded to mount the plate on the wall, following the instructions to the letter, the metal togglers worked perfectly.
with MUCH trepidation, we mounted the set up on the wall...which is where it sits to this moment. it is tight and snug with no play, no shaking, nothing!
all in all, a great experience...buy with confidence! the package comes with every possibly screw and washer you'll need for the job...and again, their customer service made the whole experience that much more pleasant. all you have to remember, is to make SURE you are in the center of the stud when you put the plate up (not into drywall or something similiarly idiotic) and follow the instructions exactly! i was prepared to pay upwards of $300 to get this professionally installed, but i'm just delighted i saved the money and did it myself! again, with some basic home improvement knowledge, this is a perfectly do-able project...don't be frightened by the endless suggestions by salesmen or manuals that "they strongly reccommend having this done by a professional..." follow the instructions and spend the money you saved on more gear :)
- A fine wall mount for an excellent price...
     By AU0UG8X4EBJ7Q on 2008-07-07
All the professionals I spoke to recommended Peerless. To get this unit at the Amazon discounted rate was indeed a bonus. The only fault I found with the unit was that the instructions for drilling the holes placed my 58" plazma too high on the wall. It was a simple fix, thus the high rating.
- Updated model-Easier to route cables
     By A2SWRS4P3K4XJS on 2008-07-10
I will recommend this model to anyone hanging a large screen LCD. I hung a Samsung LN52A650 and it was easy to hang the TV. This updated model has a larger space between the adjustable hanging brackets and makes routing the TV cords and cables an easy task. All different kinds of screws are included for mounting and the directions are well explained. Would recommend this mount to everyone.

- Excellent mount
     By A3PT5YQIGYY9DE on 2007-12-04
This mount comes with every single possible set of bolts and spacers that you could possibly need to mount your TV. This mount is very sturdy and more than enough to hold my 52" LCD screen. As a structural engineer my opinion is that this is a very well designed product. The only thing I might do a little differently change the design of two small screws that lock in the tilt of the screen when you have settled on the proper angle. It would be nice if they would just loosen and not be totally removable because they are a little hard to get back in if completely removed. Really, to avoid this little issue all that needs to be done is simply loosen just enough to let it tilt.
I was tempted to buy the "Heavy Duty" mount which comes out to the same price after it's rebate, but why go through the rebate thing when this mount costs the same without waiting for a rebate? I recommend this item and would buy it again.
- Three stud mount needed for larger, or not centered studs
     By A3QSCM4T9P5DSS on 2007-12-18
Unit comes with a two stud mount, I am mounting a 60 LG plasma and feel I need Peerless part 200-1901/2. I am finding out that part is about $45 plus shipping. Not available on Amazon and not available retail. Am in the middle of mounting the tv and now I have to wait....something I don't like to do.
- Peerless ST660 Wall Mount Just So-so for Panasonic TH-58PZ700U Plasma
     By A2BYPSWAVVXZT0 on 2007-12-28
Per the Peerless website, this wall mount is compatible with the 58" Panasonic. However, I would only recommend using this mount for such a large/heavy (approx 145 lb) TV based on the location & quantity of wall studs you are able to mount to. If you happen to have the Panny 58" 700U, I strongly recommend you check to see if you have at least 2 wall studs that will be centered (or close to center) behind the TV. I could only mount to 2 studs and they were off center by close to 4". The directions allow the mount to be up to 4" off center, so I decided to keep the mount. However, once I mounted the TV, the wall mount (on the "weak side") pulled away from the wall slightly. I'm confident it will hold the TV but, if I had to do it again, I'd purchase a mount that uses slightly heavier gauge material (I believe Peerless does have a stronger mount available). If you are fortunate enough to be able to mount this wall mount to 2 studs centered behind the TV or, even better, 3 studs or have a smaller/lighter TV, I would not have any problem recommending this unit. One last thing - the installation directions could be better. One statement says always use multiwashers and another entry for my particular TV says the washer isn't needed. Another statement says the braces must be centered on the back of the TV and another says the braces don't need to be centered on my TV. Not a big deal but these obvious conflicting statements should not exist in installation directions.
- Is this a scam?
     By A23NSKTMSPPBTR on 2008-03-29
Not long ago, I bought an ST650 wall mount for another TV. Now I have a 55 inch TV, and Peerless says that the other model is good only for sets up to 50 inches. So I spent the extra $25 and got this one. I got the package in the mail today, and opened it. It looked remarkably familiar. I had to double check to make sure I got the right one.
I went to the Peerless website where there are technical drawings for both of these models. Every single dimension is identical for both models. But they claim that this one is needed for larger sets. My new TV weighs less than the 150 lbs that the cheaper model claims it will hold. So would it fail because it somehow knows that the frame of my TV extends an extra two inches or so in each direction? It's not as if there were any design change related to the size. And it's not as if Peerless goes by the dimensions of the TV. They go by screen size. So a manufacturer could have a 50 inch screen on a chassis that's a few inches bigger or smaller than mine depending on speakers or other factors unrelated to screen size.
The only difference I can see is the label on the backing plate that says it will hold up to 200 LBS. Why an identical looking one would fail at 150 lbs is beyond me. Are they using a cheaper grade steel? It's a moot point considering the weight of my TV anyway, but I'd really like to know what the difference is here, aside from the price.
Every knob is the same. Every hole is the same. Every space is the same. When I could not tell the difference by looking at their technical drawings, I decided to check their CAD drawings. Not only were those identical, they didn't even bother to rename the file for each version.
I suppose it's possible for the brackets to look identical but have some sort of other difference. If that were the case, I'd expect to see a part number stamped on the brackets somewhere. It's not realistic to think that their own employees go through some arcane method of assuring that brackets are of a particular type when a part number would have done the trick. So it's not a stretch to conclude that there is no difference at all.
Maybe they are using the extra money to pay for their insurance bills.
- Worked fine for my 50" Viera Panasonic
     By A3EKTIHFYRW7SU on 2008-06-02
Holds up the tv, has good tilt ( can fairly easily get to the inputs on the back when tilted up). Allows for a decent amount of tv placement adjustment after the plate is attached to the wall.
- Good frame, beware of instructions
     By A26A0HX7ZQVABT on 2008-08-15
Good frame and hardware. Fit my Panasonic 46" plasma perfectly. However, the instructions almost led to an installation error. The instructions stated that the top mounting bolts of the frame should be measured at 6.2" above the center of the screen. Luckily, I decided to mount the brackets on the TV, then put the frame on while the TV was on the ground and measure to the top of the TV from the top of the frame. There was 2" more to the top of the TV then when following the 6.2" instructions. If I would have mounted the frame as originally measured, the screen would have been 2" too high. Please take my advice and measure out the actual distance with the frame on the brackets before you hang the frame.
- all you need
     By AYPDNUAOTEXXK on 2007-08-31
The mount was 1/2 the price of the major big box store with better construction. It worked problem free.
