Bright and cheerful, this mobile offers interactive fun that growing babies will find both soothing and fun.

Tiny Love Symphony Light and Music Mobile stimulates baby's development with music, nature sounds, lights and more.
The Tiny Love Symphony Light & Music Mobile offers:
  • Psychologist- and musicologist-design features to enhance baby's development.
  • Combination of music and visual stimuli that helps baby's coordination.
  • 20 minutes of continuous music and nature sounds, including relaxing classical selections.
Endearing animal themes and four-way movement figures are easy for baby to see .
Helps Develop Sight and Hearing
Designed by psychologists and musicologists to enhance babies' cognitive and sensory development, the Symphony Light and Music mobile offers a combination of music and visual stimuli that helps develop sight and hearing and improve coordination between these two senses. Four different and equally fascinating movements encourage baby to focus on an object and track it with her eyes, helping strengthen eye muscles.

The combination of repetitive circular motion and other alternating movements with objects rising, falling and turning around maintains baby's attention and active observation. Colorful liquids move in the center with or without light, adding an exciting visual element. Additionally, the 20 minutes of continuous music and nature sounds, including the choice of Bach, Mozart or Debussy selections, helps baby develop an appreciation of music.

Aids Cognitive Development
As baby's vision develops, he'll likely begin to discover the top and bottom layers of the mobile, as well as those to the sides. Recognizing these different areas aids his spatial perception and ability to organize and perceive objects in space. There's also a music box, complete with four buttons, that can be used as a musical activity center, encouraging baby to push buttons (cause) in order to receive varying musical responses (effect).

From his fifth month on, baby will become aware of objects disappearing and reappearing within his frame of vision, which helps develop a sense of object permanence.

Calming and Soothing
Whether used as a play center, night-light or traditional mobile, the Symphony Light and Music offers a calming blend of music and motion that quickly becomes a stable, familiar and friendly sight for baby. The endearing animal theme and four-way movement figures make this mobile both charming and easy-to-see for babies. And volume/mute control and a convenient swivel arm that moves easily from side to side help keep things simple and straightforward for parents.

This unique mobile also gives you an extra opportunity for quality time with your baby. Before nap or bed time, hum or sing along with the mobile, jiggle the different animal toys or spin everything around to encourage baby to track the movement with her eyes. This special time together is sure to delight both you and your child.

  • A Winner! Baby loves it!

    By A2QV1AVYIHNY63 on 2006-05-26
This mobile is huge when assembled onto the crib. However, my baby girl absolutely loves it. She'll stare at it for 40+ minutes at times, which kind of defeats the purpose because it does not put her to sleep. But it's 40 minutes of FREE time for me so I'm not complaining. The mobile shuts off automatically after 20 minutes and she'll scream for another round of 20 minutes. The mobile turns counter-clockwise and each animal (monkey, lion and bunny) rotates as it slides down the tube. My baby will follow each animal from left to right as it makes its way across her vision path. She'll then turn her head to the left, ready to follow the next animal that comes down. The mobile also includes three round "soccer" balls and other flat objects (square, circle and star) that rises and falls. I don't think my daughter cares too much for these. She's more into the animals, which are brightly colored. The classical music is pleasant to hear. There is also a volume control. My only complaint is that the volume resets to loud if you turn the mobile off and then on again. If the mobile shuts off on its own and you hit one of the music buttons to turn it back on, then the volume stays at the same level it was before.

    PROS:
    - Visually stimulating with rotating and rising/falling movement.
    - 20 minutes of nonstop music (most mobiles are 15 minutes).
    - Bright colors.
    - Cute animals.
    - Easy to assemble.
    - Hooks tightly onto crib.

    CONS:
    - No remote control.
    - Volume resets to loud each time you turn the mobile off and on.
    - You need to "pump" the volume control in order to lower the sound. You can't hold the button down. Would have been nice if there was a dial.
    - Night light is too dim. With no other lights turned on in the room, baby can hardly see the animals when the night light is on.
    - No feature for music only - the 3 modes (movement, lights & movement, light) include music.

Overall, I highly recommend this mobile. This is a must have. It keeps my baby happy and gives me some free time. Additional information on the mobile can be obtained from the tinylove website.

  • The only thing that could keep our baby happy!

    By A1F4OO6V3MMJQW on 2007-01-29
I received this mobile as a gift, and when I first saw it, I must admit, I wasn't sure if I'd even keep it. The colors and style didn't match our nursery, so I thought about returning it for something else. Boy - am I glad I kept it! This mobile is the one baby product we own that I can honestly say ALWAYS makes our baby happy.

In the very early weeks, it was fascinating to see him actually showing so much interest in it (since most very young newborns really don't interact much with toys or other objects). He'd lay in his crib and his eyes would follow the animals circling above him.

Then the "fussy" period began (at around 6 weeks). Every night, for about 3-4 weeks, he'd cry like someone was torturing him for an hour in the evening. If we couldn't calm him, we'd place him in the crib, turn on the mobile, and he'd instantly calm down and watch the animals instead. It was such a relief! Of course, I hated that I couldn't be the one to calm my baby in my own arms, but hey - when you're desperate, you're happy for anything that works!

My son is now 6 months old, and he still loves this mobile. We even lowered his crib mattress just so we could keep using it (once he was close to being able to reach the animals when lying below them - this is not a toy that you can allow baby to grab - it's for eyes only!) I love it because it's a guaranteed way to get at least 10 minutes or so when I can put him down and go take a shower or something and know that he'll be calm and happy.

I also love that it has a built in light. I used it as a light to nurse my baby by early on in the middle of the night, so I didn't have to turn on the full room lights.

The one thing I don't like about it is the volume control. My son doesn't have much interest in the music (just the motion really), so I wish there was either a setting where you could have motion and/or lights without music. Or I wish the volume control would stay set after you turn the mobile off (it defaults back to full volume each time you turn it on), especially since the volume is kind of a pain to adjust (you have to press repeatedly on the control to turn it all the way down). The music is nice and the sound quality is pretty good for a children's toy, but it gets a little tedious listening to the same music over and over, and I wish I could turn it off more easily.

  • I love this mobile but......

    By AIRO8NG9Y379N on 2007-01-07
I still use this mobile in my 8 months old crib. He is hypnotized by the mobile, it's funky little animals hanging from it and the beads the twirl. I would give this mobile 5 stars but...

The support that attaches the mobile to the crib is poorly designed and is difficult to tighten. Because the bolt that holds the mobile up is plastic on plastic it loosens itself over a few days. If you don't tighten it every few days it can topple over into the crib. This mobile has fallen on top of my son because of this. To prevent this from happening I tighten it everyday but you should not have to do that.

  • Good mobile, but some real flaws with the music

    By A1RLDY372PU83Q on 2007-03-12
This is a darling mobile with cute, googly-eyed animals that move in a mesmerizing way. When Lola was a little baby, it overstimulated her. (From 4 months she liked it much better and would watch it and even "talk" to it either before sleep or if she woke in the night.) In the early months, though, we took down the mobile and tried to use just the music part that can stay attached to the crib separately. There are two big problems. First, as so many have pointed out, the music starts MUCH TOO LOUD. You always have to adjust it downward. That's really annoying. Second, I bought this with the idea that it had 15 minutes of Bach, and 15 minutes of Beethoven, and 15 minutes of nature sounds, each of which you could select separately on the dial. Instead, there is 15 minutes of music that plays, but that music is comprised of a constantly looping short piece of all 3 types. If you press the nature button, you'll start with the very short classical piece with birdsong over it, but then it'll move through the other short pieces over and over. The music is, therefore, completely the same with each button but begins at a different point. I felt kind of hoodwinked by this because the mobile touts itself as having all this great classical music. It doesn't. If you want classical music for your baby, I guess a nearby CD player or Ipod hookup is your best bet.

  • It appears they've addressed many of the complaints

    By A14ZFM7A26R0GM on 2008-02-03
After reading reviews for several of the Tiny Love mobiles, I ordered the Symphony, Light & Music mobile. Mainly, I liked the idea that you could actually turn the music volume off completely AND from the picture it appeared to be the only one that might fit on our thicker sided crib. Our daughter loved watching her old mobile, but I got tired of winding it every three minutes and wanted something than ran a bit longer.

While reading about this particular model I read three main complaints:

    1) People claimed it was too heavy and tipped over. This does not seem the case now. This mobile mounts very snugly to our crib and has a safety strap that wraps over the edge to hold it firmly in place.

    2) Others complained that the volume always resets to loudest when you turn it off manually, but stays the same if it turns itself off. Mine does not do this. It starts at the same volume I had playing the previous time, even when I'm the one who turned it off.

    3) Finally, someone said that while it claims to play different types of music, it just plays one loop, but starts in different places. The one I purchased (on 1/31/08) plays a loop if you don't press a specific button when you turn it on. If you choose a music button, it plays just that piece of music and so on.

This mobile is a big hit with both parents and baby at our house.

  • Mobile-great, Light and Music stink
    By AJCSX1A6OOQ9I on 2008-03-04
Even though the light and music stink, I gave this product a 4 because the mobile is so great.

Mobile: I have been doing a lot of research for an article I am writing regarding brain differences in males and females, and was very impressed just how much what I have learned has been encorporated into this product.

Some of the reviewers here at Amazon don't seem to get the purpose of a mobile. A mobile is NOT intended to put your child to sleep. It is intended to stimulate them. If you want to calm your child, this is NOT a good product for you. For little little babies, the stimulation can be overwhelming, so you might even have to turn it off and detach it after only a few minutes. Despite the threat of overstimulation, every baby that has visited our child's crib to watch the mobile was very obviously delighted. As your baby developes, you can leave it running even longer than the 20 minute timer allows.

When your baby is first born, they can only see a very short distance and can only recognize sharp contrasts such as black and white. Also, newborns have an inate ability to recognize human-like faces and are naturally attracted to them. Boys are even slower to appreciate colors other than black and white. The mobile takes this into consideration with big white eyes with black pupils and with black and white stripes on the arms. The soccer balls also have black spots on white for this reason.

As your baby develops he (I have a little boy) will begin to track the moving. The angle of the mobile developes his ability to track moving objects at different depth levels. The soccer balls give an extra spin to the movement to further stimutlate and engage your child. As he gets older, he will begin to reach for the characters.

Light: Stinks. It is too soft to use as a proper night light or for nocturnal breast feeding. It is not powerful enough to activate the colored liquid in any meaningful way. If the bulb burns out, you will have a devil of a time replacing it.

Music: The product description is misleading to the point of being a bold faced lie. There are 3 music selections that run for about 2 minutes each. There is a 20 minute timer to stop the music, but you only have about 6 minutes of music that repeats, not 20, in reality.

The music is really loud and you have to pump the volume control to mute it or turn it down. There is no setting for the mobile or light with no music. If you want the mobile or light with no music, you have to turn the music volume all the way down by pumping it, which is annoying.

Other problems: Once you assemble this, it is really hard to take apart to put back into the box for storage for the next baby. It uses a strange screw that has a triangular slot, for which I have been unable to find a scredriver.

Overall, if you want a great mobile and don't care about the light or music, this is a great product. Just put on a CD and pump down the volume.

  • Side benefits
    By AX0GSLA33P632 on 2006-10-10
Our 12 week old loves this mobile. She follows the animals while kicking and "talking". My wife figured out that when she seems like she is trying to go #2, we can put her under the mobile and all the kicking helps her out. It does NOT put her to sleep, rather, we have to avoid her seeing it when trying to put her to bed, but this is not a big problem. Don't buy for the light--it's too dim. One other nit: If we let it run til it stops, it will start at our volume setting, but if we turn it off, we have to turn the volume down on next use. Would be nice if volume stayed where set. Still recommended.

  • I'm clean!
    By A1TYHWCNBQR09V on 2006-11-15
This mobile doesn't put my baby to sleep, but it keeps him entertained long enough for a shower:) He talks to it and kicks his feet like a madman to it. The music is very pretty and after 2 months I'm not sick of it. Best part is that the mobile fits on my Davinci Emily crib, for which it was almost impossible to find one to fit.

  • Baby Likes it!
    By A33UPLB1B9LNWG on 2007-01-25
Well, the baby is very well entertained by this mobile!

Me....not so much! Problems I have had:
    - Volume doesn't work and so the only working setting is LOUD. I have tried pumping, etc...but no change. Tiny Love has said they will send me a new music box.
    - Took a while to assemble. Not as straight forward as one might think a mobile would be.
    - Doesn't tighten sufficiently and can topple over (but if baby is directly underneath it can't fall on him). This is a big mobile!

But I do like that the pieces on the mobile move as the mobile goes around. I think this makes it more interesting, but he hasn't told me if he agrees!

  • The volume button is fixed with the new version!
    By AAQBVV4H1XI3 on 2008-02-19
I had the Tiny Love Mobile with my first-born (Tiny Love Geometric Shapes, which, unfortunately has been discontinued) and purchased the Light and Music mobile for my daughter. The bright colors, the calming classical music, and the cute animals keep my daughter intertained for lengthy time periods. The volume botton has been fixed with the new version (make sure the music box is yellow / white instead of green and the handles are blue instead of orange). We had to return the previous versoin as the volume reset was way too annoying - once the mobile shut off, it would reset itself to high volume. One thing that I would like to see is an option for music only ... right now, there is an option for rotation, rotation with light, light only and off. Nothing with just music ... Thus, I give this product a 4*

  • Great mobile
    By A3V9BLZMTELLLS on 2006-10-27
Our 13 week old son absolutely loves this mobile. We have had it for about 6 weeks or so, and he always loves it. It is in his play pen and it keeps him entertained for 30-40 minutes at a time! The different settings do not always work (which is why it gets 4 out of 5), but we can always have music and movement, which is the most important part of it. The light only occasionally works for us. But my husband does not want to return it for a working one, he is afraid our son will not like the new one as much...

  • Great mobile!
    By A3FPYWOC5VH1RD on 2007-01-14
I do highly recommend this. I do have a problem with the volume being too high. You can adjust it but I wish it would start out lower. My daughter is super active and she was entertained but not long enough to spend much time by herself. She did really like the animals.

  • I love it and so does Cydney
    By AZNY1RTQYSX78 on 2007-01-27
I just got this the other day and I installed it in my SUV next to Cydneys car seat and she just adores it....

  • Beware of PearleKids
    By AGV7F5CLXD7MI on 2007-08-21
I got this in the mail from PearleKids, which I ordered through Amazon, and I didn't actually order this specific Mobile. I wanted the Animal Farm one but they sent me this one instead. So they sent the wrong product. I went ahead and opened it to make sure and it was leaking. So I packaged it back up and have been attempting to return it for about 2 weeks now. I can't get ahold of anyone from Pearlekids to give me info on how to return it. I emailed and called, leaving 2 messages. No return calls. I finally called my credit card company to dispute the charge but that takes 30 days usually. So if you buy this don't buy it from PearleKids!!!!

  • Terrible design
    By A29EPQ7RPSI3K on 2007-09-29
I really don't know how anybody could give this more than one star. The design is so poor I couldn't even get mine to stand straight up. It just kept falling over. Do you think I would put my baby under this? Nope, returned it and will never buy anything from this company again.

  • This product may fall on our baby's head
    By A380ENMW5UTIEI on 2008-01-04
I'm usually the one who is criticizing other reviewers for giving a product a bad review for silly reasons, by after reading the other reviews for this product, I can't believe that there are so many positive reviews.

    1. The main reason to not buy this mobile is that the method by which it clamps to the crib is very weak. It won't very much for the mobile to topple over and land on your kid's head. This is somewhat dependent on the size and spacing of the spindles that make up your crib. Take a chance if you want. I recommend buying a different product.

    2. The music starts off way too loud. See #3 below.

    3. Complaint #2 wouldn't matter so much if the unit were to remember the last volume setting that you had used. Instead, the unit's volume setting is reset each time it is turned on, to the loudest level.

    4. The illuminated part of the mobile is no where as colorful as the photos would have you believe.

That said, our kid did like the mobile. It just annoyed and scared me and my wife. I ended up making a spacer block with some roll pins that went into holes that I drilled into the housing to prevent it from falling over.

  • Entertains baby and buys free time for parents
    By A1E437V5UUIZ2R on 2008-05-09
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RGYH0EVEXY9UG Our son has been in love with this mobile since he was about 4 weeks old. (He's now 12 weeks.) He started off wriggling around to the music, then began staring at the moving shapes, and now smiles, shouts, and coos at his little animal friends as they come and go. Because the volume can be set to silent, he has even fallen asleep while watching it a few times, although he's generally so excited to see it that he's more entertained than soothed. (In the video the volume was turned all the way down so that we could hear the baby.) By the way-- the mobile no longer starts automatically at the loudest setting; this seems to have been a problem with earlier models. Also, even though there is no "music only" option, it's easy to remove the bar with the rotating parts from the rest of the assembly, leaving just the music box attached to the crib. This allows you to play just the music (although it leaves you with the problem of figuring out where to store the rest of the mobile in the meantime).

As parents, we have a great time watching him having so much fun-- but we also LOVE the fact that this mobile enables us to leave our son safe and happy in his crib for 10-20 minutes while we go do the laundry, eat dinner, take a shower, etc. We gave this mobile as a gift to a family member before we had our own baby, and she said she wept when she had to take it down (once her son had started pulling himself up in his crib) because she had just lost a good chunk of free time from each day. Yes, we love spending time with our kids, but to preserve our own health and hygiene, this mobile has been a lifesaver.

  • Baby likes it so far.
    By A2D0CUXK5XVKP3 on 2007-02-28
My son is only 2 months old, so he is just now able to really track the critters as they move around. He seems to enjoy it and the music is nice. I agree with another reviewer that the volume starts out way too loud, so you have to turn it down everytime you turn it on. It's not that big of a deal, but it is a nuisance. Also, I think it is too stimulating for putting the baby to sleep. It is even too large to leave hanging over his bed all the time. Maybe that will change as he gets older, but at this point, it is more of an activity for when he is awake.

  • Looks bad works great
    By A3GGR4FGFI3LZY on 2007-03-04
Its a big thing. It takes up alot of space in the playpen. Not easy to transport. Weird colours and a dodgy volume control. The joyous, calming effect of Mo the Monkey, Ralph the Rabbit and Leo the Lion chasing eachother in a perpetual circle works its magic on our baby for about 30 mins max. Still very much worth it if you could convert baby time to parent time. Despite the downs a definite positive parenting time management tool.

  • Wonderful product
    By A1L2Z6E9RLYQF6 on 2007-05-10
The second we turned this mobile on for my 6-week old son, we saw him smile for the first time. Now, everytime we turn the mobile on, he coos, smiles and kicks. He LOVES it, which in essense makes this product our favorite purchase yet!

  • Great product but light function is weak
    By A10Y1298VK9U5E on 2007-05-19
This product is great. It captures the attention of my 1 month old like nothing else does, but the 'lights' are a little disappointing. Still great however!

  • our daughter loves her mobile
    By A2QI4PBV5KA210 on 2007-08-28
The movements and music are enjoyable for our 4 month old, and I like how the music lasts 20 minutes.

  • really good
    By A45IF1W21JR8M on 2007-09-08
The mobile we had before I bought this one you have to manually turned it, like a music box. My baby loves it so much (she started to notice the mobile when she was about 6 weeks) I decide to buy a new one when she is 2 months old. This one can run 20 minutes. My baby normally gets tired of it around 30 min. So it is good I just need to reset it once.
    Highly recommend.

  • Could be a great mobile
    By AIX1722BETFOT on 2007-09-21
If the sound turned completely off and if the tiny light yellow writing was easier to read. I had to put tape over the speaker because it was so loud. My 2 month old daughter does still seem to like it if I'm standing there with her.

  • great sound
    By A287UCYR3JEQZS on 2007-11-30
What I love about this mobile is that the music sounds decent--it's not just tinny baby toy sounds that destroy the beauty of the music. Mozart actually resembles Mozart, so I don't get annoyed when I hear it every night. It's loud when it first turns on, but I always decrease the volume and it's fine. The only bad thing is that the light doesn't seem to do very much, and it seems to have died after 6 months anyway.

  • Great Idea, Not the Best Execution
    By A2B2MTGMYI537J on 2007-12-08
This mobile is a great idea. Each stuffed animal is counter-weighted such that they rotate themselves as the entire mobile arm rotates. One downside is that the light does not work unless the mobile arm is snapped into the base just so. Additionally, the arm itself could be more stable. Another downside is that the colored disc that the light supposedly shines through is not as colorful as portrayed on the box; ours in yellow and orange, barely discenable as two different colors. However, my son loves the brightly colored animals and the music is not half bad, certainly not CD quality but not as bad as many of the other toys out there. Since this mobile is much more interactive than the ones that just wind up (once actiated, one session lasts almost 20 minutes) we would probably purchase one again.

  • Great Mobile but.....the volume is SUPER LOUD!
    By A3INA9VZUKN6QM on 2008-01-28
Unfortunately I was unable to give this mobile 5 stars due to the fact that I had a defective mobile. The volume control did not work and the volume starts at such a loud volume that it startled my daughter. I placed some tape over the speaker and contacted the company, Tiny Love right away....I have yet to hear back from them, it's been over a week now! However, I contacted Amazon and they were fabulous. They have already sent me a replacement mobile.

  • Great mobile, but not perfect
    By on 2008-02-07
I do love this mobile. It is easy to install on the crib- and securely too- I've never had the problem of it toppling over. The music sounds good, but like other reviews have said the volume starts out too loud when you turn it on. Sometimes, I wish it had a "movement only" mode w/o having to turn the volume all the way down. And there's no option for "music only". The biggest issue I have with it is when you need to change the batteries (which for me is often, because while we have rechargables, they don't last as long and need to be changed more often than reg batteries) you have to take the entire mobile off the crib- which is not a silent process. It's easy enough to put back on, but it's still a bother. With that said, I'd buy this again, because my son LOVES it. Seriously LOVES it. He's 8 months old now and I'm afraid we're going to have to take it down soon because he's going to figure out how to grab it. What will I do then? Agh. Bottom line, it's a great mobile, despite the few drawbacks.

  • Best mobile
    By A2YYSFTQQUIW7 on 2008-03-09
I was very dissatisfied with the mobiles I found in stores. When I saw this one was highly rated online, I decided to go for it and am very glad that I did. My little love LOVES it. As a parent, I especially like the different types of movement generated when it spins and the bright colors. The music has a nice adjustable feature that lets me turn it off-- another great win.

  • Baby loves this mobile!!
    By A3GMM64HLOJP0I on 2008-04-13
My son is 10 weeks old and he absolutely loves this mobile. In fact the other day, I actually caught him smiling up at it. He loves to watch when he's awake and it also helps put him to sleep every night. Out of all the baby stuff so far, this is probably one of my fave things.
