  I am only giving 1 star because I can't give it no stars-the system won't let me!
  This item is nothing more than a T-shirt with the sleeves and collar cut off. The price seems incredibly great, but when you receive it, you find out why! I returned mine and will not order any more items from Andrew Christian.
  
  

• Poor Quality, Poor Design, High Shipping Costs

  I purchased this for my wife (xmas gift) and when she opened it, we were BOTH disappointed. The quality and design are not what we expected. The picture is not really a fair representation of the product. The company (AndrewChristian)assured me satisfaction quaranteed. I contacted them via email and it's been two weeks and I still have not heard back. The shipping cost was the last straw -- I paid $8.99 for the dress and $5.60 for shipping...completely outrageous. I will not do business with Andrew Christian again.

  I dont understand why people are complaining about this dress. First of all I went to the American apparel store and the style is meant to be "trendy" aka the bottom was cut and it wasnt sewn together. so dont blame Andrew for the "quality". and if you paid $9 for a dress dont expect designer stuff. its a basic t-shirt dress, it looks cute, it is on the small side, the edges are cut but not finished, you get what you pay for!!

  I bought this as a surprise for my wife. When we opened it, I thought that 1) we were shipped a pillowcase by mistake or 2) they hadn't finished it. Edges are raw and unfinished. It is a complete waste of money because returning it will mean that the shipping both directions will cost me more than the dress cost. I understand that "you get what you pay for," but this was a piece of garbage.
  
  This dress in the picture is OBVIOUSLY pinned and pulled back to give it any shape whatsoever. The picture does NOT accurately represent this item at all. This will fit like a potato sack, folks. I notice that the "raw edges" are now listed as a "feature." Ahem.
  
  In a recent e-mail exchange with them, I was told that (their words now): "quality is a subjective issue." They have pestered me to change my feedback and I have challenged them three times now to point out any inaccuracies in my feedback, and I would absolutely recant them.
  
  In their defense: my money has now been refunded.
  
  Now... anybody want to buy a pillowcase with three holes in it, worn for 90 seconds? It would have been off sooner, but my wife was laughing too hard to get it back over her head.

  You get what you pay for! This is a cheap, cheap piece of junk. It is just two pieces of cloth sewed together at the shoulders and sides. No finishing off of the sleeve edges or bottom. Just cut raw.

  This dress is VERY VERY small. Even the XL is samll! it is short too. And it may be $7.00 but it is really $14.00 with s&h!

  When I first received my dress/shirt I was dumbfounded! It looked like someone had just cut the sleeves and made a hole on top of a plain sheet of fabric! What it is this thing?! But once I got home and tried it one it was perfect! It was fitted along the waist and loose on the top. It looks nice with leggings! I tried to wear it on it's own around the house, but it is too short, although very sexy.
  I do not blame the other customers who did not appreciate the cut or style of the dress/shirt. Just like what the other customer said, " you probably would not like it if you've never shopped at American Apparel before." Also,
  I wouldn't recommend this on someone who is skinny. I don't think it would look the way it should on you. And when I say skinny I mean Nicole Richie- scarecrow skinny.
  
  
• If you know what to expect, you'll like it

  I wanted something casual and off the shoulder, if you read the other reviews you'll know that the edges are unfinished and to order it one size up - know that even if you do order one side up it won't necessarily look like a pillow case, it does does have some curves in its design.
  It is a cheap dress, after trying it on once when I first got it, I noticed that the unfinished edges around the neck were starting to fray near the shoulder seams. If you have an eye for detail you will likely notice that too. No doubt it would become like that after a few washings anyway. At 5'4" and 110 lbs, when I wear this dress off the shoulder (actually off one shoulder) it reaches a little bit above my knee - I can wear it with or without pants. For me, this is what I wanted, and I knew what to expect but by far this is not a dress that going to last.

  I bought the jersey shirt, thinking that it would look really cute over jeans. When I opened the package I was apalled!! It looked like a pillow case with holes for sleeves. The edges weren't stitched and the fabric was thin and cheap looking. I have yet to return this item...I will not buy from this company again!!

  I bought this shirt 3 weeks ago and love it so much I ordered 4 more. Its cheap and super comfortable. It can be dressed up for work, worn casual with jeans, over a bathing suit, or even as a night gown after a long night out. Its a great piece for the summer. Does run a bit small, the gray is a lot darker then the photo shows, and isnt the highest quailty shirt I own, but come on, it's $9. All that said, I love this dress and its a great base peice to build many cute looks.

  I love this dress. It's adorable, not too short (I'm 5 7 and everything is too short) and looks great with leggings. It's very deconstructed- but that is OBVIOUS from the picture. I wore it over a tank and w/ leggings- it was very cute and not too over the top 80s for someone who has worn the stuff the first time around. Also- the seller is great- fast shipping for a small company- and very customer oriented- they have great response time from a REAL PERSON- not an automated system- almost unheard of in online shopping! I have 2 and am going to order another one.

  Very cute. When I first got it I was upset because it kind of looks like a pillow case haha, meaning there's no shape to it, but once you put it on it's a whole different story. I recommend it. It's cute. I wore it as a dress (some people wear it as shirts), with a belt around the hips. Very cute. I recommend it.

• LOVED It; If You Like American Apparel, You Will Like This

  The dress is really cool. It has a TON of style. The other reviews are correct that is it unfinished and is a bit thin (you could only tell on my black dress on the legs, the light shined through.) However, I LOVE it, and I think it is a steal at $9. You can't tell it is unfinished when you wear it (seams not sewn up). Again, like the other reviews have said, with a belt and/or a long necklace it looks a lot better. It would amazing for going out or a Vegas night. Otherwise not a ton of shape, but I would probably still wear it w/out a belt and with casual shoes. I was looking for a cute cotton dress like this that wasn't $100+ like C&C or Splendid. Granted, their cotton would be thicker, softer, and probably last longer, but I still think this is a great little dress.
  
  M fits nicely on me and hugs in all the right places. I am on the shorter side 5'4'' and about 130 lbs. Hope that helped! I may get other colors too.
  
  I also love the interlock running short. P.S. Shipping is a little high and sometimes slow, but be patient. We are getting great American Apparel stuff cheap. FYI, I generally like AA stuff but can never bring myself to pay what I think is like $15-30 too much for each item. As result, this is perfect for me.
  
  Update: In dealing with the seller, I have come to believe he is not the best. He is ok, but there are others who sell this product on amazon. There is a restrictive return/exchange policy. I wanted to exchange a pair of shorts that were too small for the dress but couldn't because the dress was $1 more. Just kind of a small time seller that runs into problems at times. It is up to you to take a chance for the good deal.

  I love this dress, but think it is a junior cut. I will wear it with tights, I think. The material, color, and structure of this dress is very, very nice; I know I will have fun wearing the dress. However, had I known each item I bought had separate shipping charges, I may not have made any purchases. The s&h on a few items were as much or more than the item cost. Of course, this is not this seller's fault and I thank him for this quality item.

  The shipping was fast and the package was a little tiny box, so you get it in your mail box, no need to be home to get your package! I am agree with other customers that the dress looks like a pillow case, but if you wear it over a legging with a belt, it's really cute. Order this dress a size over your normal size though because it gets tinnier after being washed! I am really happy with this product and the company, I will definitely recommend this product to other customers.

  I have 5 of these, they're really comfortable and pretty durable.
  
  They're nice to toss on over a bikini or hop down to the store in some comfy flats and maybe some leggings.

  This is my new favorite shirt.I have a long torso so its nice to have a shirt cover my backside even when I sit or bend down in lowrise jeans. It can also be worn as a dress (a short one but it's cute. Nice wuality, made in the US which is nice, I found a slight irregularity in the seam but it's not bothersome sinceI wear the shirt slouchy hanging off a shoulder.
