Cant Beat The Value! By ADLWLM3CGKWM9 on 2005-10-09
With all the recent disasters and terror threats etc, its good to be ready when needed. This is a great rechargeable flashlight for the money. The flashlight seems to be sturdy and the light is bright and focused. Since it is a full sized flashlight make sure you stick this on a unused outlet somewhere tucked away. A plus of course is the night light thats built in. Need to get another for the basement!
Really Good Rechargable Flashlight By A2UIKDUTSIFVPL on 2005-10-26
We've had the smaller version for years and consider it to be the best kind/brand we've encountered of the several we've tried: holds up for years if left plugged in, withstands routine dropping, does need an occasional bulb replacment. This bigger version seems to be just that much better: very bright, charge last longer. The only down side is that it's almost cheaper to replace the whole flashlight than try to re-battery it.
My favorite flashlight By A4QBJJ9YC59WE on 2006-02-02
I have had this Coleman rechargable flashlight for years now. This has to be my favorite flashlight of all time! I want to get a couple more to spread around the house...it's so easy to plug them into a wall socket and they're all charged and ready to go when you need them!
Good but not perfect By AF07VDQ0VQMZI on 2007-01-04
We purchased two of these to complement a number of the 2 hour versions we already had in the guest rooms of our Bed and Breakfast. The flashlights work well with a good light and appears to have excellent battery life. There are however a few quirks that you need to be aware of.
First of all it is not obvious from the photos that the 4 hour version is quite a bit fatter than the 2 hour version. This is not a problem but it was a surprise as they both look the same in the online catalog.
The flashlight also shares two rather annoying quirks of the 2 hour version. For reasons that seem unnecessary the 110V plug is polarized. When you plug the flashlight in it really needs to hang down from the socket to be stable, so if you have your outlet mounted with the ground pin at the top (as opposed to the more conventional arrangement with it at the bottom) you can have a problem as the flashlight will then plug in only in the upward direction. The flashlight will stay in place but it tends to lean out from the wall and get in the way. The second quirk is presumably intended to be a feature, but it is an awkward one. The 110V plug pivots through 90 degrees which is generally good (although it is the reason the unit leans out from the wall if your sockets are the wrong way up) but the pins MUST be pivoted flat back into the flashlight before it will turn on. This is NOT intuitive and it not ideal for an emergency flashlight which you just want to pull out from the wall and start to use. We ended up appropriately labeling each flashlight in large letters with a red indelible pen and making sure all our guests are advised of this quirk when they check in.
So overall a solid unit that does its job at a good price, but some design aspects could have been better.
I bought six of these on clearance and they are great. By A3GOPMH5QIMC1 on 2006-01-21
I have six of these flashlights. I have had them for several years. They hold a charges for a long time. Even after not using them or charging them for a couple of months they hold their charge and work great. I recommend them highly.

After going through many flashlights I have finally found the best! Great flashlight - great price.

We plan to buy more for each floor of our home. Very bright, easy to find when electricity goes out. It's a really a good buy!
- Nice design but didn't work for me
     By A2CLPLB5VJJBTG on 2007-02-24
I bought this because after using many Coleman products over the years when camping I've always been impressed by their brand. But this was a disappointment. It just never held a charge. I emailed Coleman and finally received an answer from them -- the day after I had packed it up and posted it for return! (Their advice: to make sure the prongs were fully pushed all the way in before turning it on.) Duh -- did that! It would have been helpful if troubleshooting instructions had been included. The only thing that came with it was documentation on where/how to recycle the battery.
- Good for electrical outages

The product works well. My only complaint is that our outlets are upside down compared to most and thus the flashlight hangs up instead of down. Does everything as advertised.
- Great item!

Very handy to have, and I also like that it functions as a night light while it's plugged in. We have 2 and keep them in key locations. I've also given them as gifts.

- Good product

I had a similar item a few years ago that we used all the time-it was great. I had problems finding a rechargable flashlight in stores other than the usual small ones. I like this light-just wish it were a little larger and produced more light.
- Coleman 4-hour rechargeable flashlight is nice
     By A1RAOXUYJ5F94N on 2007-03-19
This flashlight is a good value, has a strong beam, and lasts for the full four hours. I agree with the minor criticism noted in another review that the flashlight sags out from the wall when plugged in for recharging, but I fixed this using a velcro strip to hold it in place.
- A little bulky
     By A7L1K8WQO0B9Z on 2007-05-19
If you are just looking for a functional flashlight, this is the one for you. It is a little bulkier than I thought it would be, but it works. I keep it plugged in in the kitchen. It has come in handy when I've blown a fuse to go into the dark basement. I only wish the flashlight was a little smaller.
