  • Wall Mount

    By A59DAWL8KMONQ on 2006-08-06
This wall mount is excellent. Don't be confused by the description however. The "horizontal" adjustment is linear, in other words it moves lateraly from side to side rather than rotates. But, this is a good feature if you have to locate studs to get a proper mount. You can adjust the mount to hit the studs by the many mounting holes and then move the screen to adjust to the center. Also, the package of bolts for connecting the flat screen should be tested in the flat screen mounting holes to make sure that you have the right bolts.

  • Nice unit, once it's mounted

    By A23NSKTMSPPBTR on 2007-11-07
This wall mount gives you everything you need to mount a variety of televisions. It comes with a comprehensive set of fasteners that should cover almost any TV. Plus, you can always check their website to make sure.

Once mounted, it gives the opportunity to tilt the TV up or down with ease. You just turn the knobs on both sides. tilt it, and re tighten the knobs. I have mine mounted high, so a good amount of tilt is important.

Mounting the frame is just a matter of screwing it into the wall. Of course, screwing it in may not be trivial, depending on the type of wall. In a typical home, it will be mounted to the wooden studs, and then just bolted in.

It seems simple, but you have to be able to find the studs. I have a good stud finder, and that was not a problem. Then you have to pick the right studs. You can mounting the bracket left or right up to 4 inches from where it would be centered on the studs, and you can move the TV side to side on the bracket to get the location that you want. The amount of movement is limited not by the free space on each side, but by how far you can go and avoid the bracket showing on one side. If the TV is at least 8 inches wider than the bracket, there's no limiting factor, even if you need to move over by a stud.

The next challenge is getting it perfectly level, getting the height correct, so the top or bottom of the TV ends up where you want, and assuring that it's mounted exactly where you want. Measuring the TV, figuring out exactly where you want the bottom or top edge to be, and then measuring up from your edge location by half the height of the TV should put the center of the wall plate exactly where you want.

I was able to get it perfectly level, but it took quite a while to figure out the exact location in all directions, and to check and recheck with a level while doing it. If you are not putting it close to furniture, shelves, or wall edges, you may have more leeway than I did.

The instructions then say to put the bracket parts on the TV, and that's just a matter of screwing it in. They recommend getting the top and the bottom ends centered with respect to the TV. But doing that and being off by a fraction of an inch can undo all the effort that was needed to get the wall plate level. In retrospect, rather than trying for an exact measurement for the brackets, I probably would have been better off getting a close one, and then sliding them up or down so the screws were exactly against the top or bottom of the particular screw holes used.

It would have been nice if, in addition to all the adjustments that this has, it also had a screw to move either side up or down by a fraction of an inch, and with a big enough lip, that would make minor errors disappear.

Mine is close enough to a shelf that even a small height difference from one end to the other of the TV will show, and be difficult to fix. In my case, it was off by only 1/8 inch from one end to another, but it showed.

So in theory, you just mount the plate on the wall, screw the brackets in with two screws each, hang the TV, and tighten the screws. Then you adjust the knobs to get the right tilt, and you're done.

But my TV is heavy, and is mounted over six feet from the floor. Getting it on the plate required four people, and I was not about to take it down to readjust the brackets. So I ended up loosening the screws from behind with my hand under one edge, moving it slightly up or down, and re tightening the screws. Trying to do that with a level is a bit tricky.

This may not be an issue at all for a typical family room where you would strain your neck if you sat within ten feet of the television if it were mounted that high, but regardless, a single person would still have problems making any adjustments to level a TV if it were less than perfect after being mounted.

So if you are mounting it in a typical family room, don't really have an issue if the set is a couple of inches higher or lower, and mount the plate perfectly level, then as long as you keep the brackets level, you're set even if your measurements are not down to fractions of an inch. And if I had merely gone by the bottom of the screw hole I used instead of by the instructions and picture, I would have been fine too. If you are off a bit with the leveling of the plate, and it's easy enough to take your TV down, then moving the brackets will fix that problem too.

The bottom line is that this is probably a breeze in a typical situation, as long as you make sure the plate is level, especially if taking the set on or off is easy for a typical person or couple. But an extra adjustment for moving each side up or down by a fraction would have been nice.

  • Confidence-inspiring kit for a novice installer

    By A2BTW0ILQAD1SM on 2007-05-24
This kit gave me a lot of confidence when I installed the mount. Instructions are very clear and include a lot of details, and the diagrams are excellent. Comes with a list of about 800 different TV models and which hardware to use for each. The hardware itself is a marvel of organization: 14 different labeled pouches so you can find exactly what you need instantly. I did need to purchase a couple of screws, but if you can wait they'll send them to you if you call. The instructions were written by someone whose first language is English. The level of detail of the instructions were down to things like making sure you center the brackets vertically on the TV, and how many threads to engage, and what torque you shouldn't exceed on the screws. Many folks won't need that much info, but if you have very limited experience at doing this type of thing like me, you'll appreciate it.

My point of comparison is a Simplicity kit which I returned when I discovered it was a store return and some of the washers had been bent out of shape. That kit had much less information and detail, and of course not all of the necessary hardware (none of which was labeled). One instruction was to test the screws until you found the right size for your TV but to be careful not to damage the threads on your TV by forcing the wrong size screw!

I installed this bracket for my 40" Sony Bravia KDL-40S2000. Only needed to purchase 2 M5 x 16 machine screws from Home Depot, otherwise I am very pleased with this purchase.

  • Easy and Strong

    By A1760Y8M8DLDSH on 2007-04-05
I'm using this mount with a 70lb. 47 inch LCD. I wouldn't hesitate to mount a TV that weighs the rated 150lbs with this mount.

Installing the mounting plate was a snap. Just find the studs, get it level, drill pilot holes, and lag it in. I recommend using a nut-driver for the lag bolts.

The real beauty is the brackets themselves. They hook over the mounting plate and are shaped such that you can hardly miss. I was able to mount the TV by myself with no trouble. Setting the security screws was a pain, mainly because I have the TV angled down a bit.

The brackets are designed to be tilted at one (of many) pre-set angles. I wanted my TV tilted just between two of them, so I don't have the locking screws installed correctly. Seems to work fine anyway.

My TV wants to rock side-to-side, but that is because the mounting holes on the TV are too close together for its size. There's nothing the bracket can do about that.

Finally, my TV wasn't listed in the manual, or on the updated list on their site. A Peerless support tech sent me the info I needed in less than 24 hours.

In all, this mount is a good value.

  • excellent mount, terrible masonry bolts

    By A2K9BYKRUQBNXX on 2006-10-06
the mount is excellent. easy to adjust on the wall, minimum space required, ample hardware for different tvs, low price. BUT if installing onto masonry (i.e., grout between bricks on fireplace), do NOT use the supplied bolts and expanding toggles. they do not work (i now have 4 extra holes in my wall). i used tap-con screws, which have an odd but effective design to hold in masonry. they can be screwed into and out of the masonry multiple times and retain grip (not tear out grout).

  • EXACTLY what I expected and a great bargain
    By A21IEZQPNKX7XV on 2006-12-03
Not sure what everyone else is getting or what kind of visual impairments they may have when looking at a picture, but I got exactly what the picture shows. The view in the picture shows you the bracket from front to back...meaning that the 2 vertical pieces of steel you see are the pieces mounted to the TV (vertically) and the plate at the back of the picture is what mounts to your wall...those vertical brackets are spaced apart based on the size of your set, so the distance between the vertical brackets and the ends of the horizontal brackets will differ...Peerless makes a really nice bracket, which was my main reason for purchasing (have on at work for a similar set. Price was a close second. The stores and manufacturers sell the SAME bracket for $199 all over the place. Bracket markup is crazy right now because competition on the price of the actual set is where people focus.

This bracket was mounted on my wall and the TV (40" NEC LCD) was on the bracket in less than 30 minutes. The tilt works well and the lateral movement is smooth. Yes, it came in a HUGE box with a bunch of packing that seemed like a waste of box, but I'm sure it's just cheaper to have 3 or 4 sizes of boxes to use for shipping and not 20 or 30 sizes...either way, the size of the box it comes in is completely irrelevant! You are buying a bracket and not a box!

    Thanks Amazon!

  • Sturdy...
    By A2C264HY1HHZVX on 2007-08-16
I found this product to be excellent. I was a little hesitant about hanging my brand new Samsung LNT4665F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV on the wall, for fear it wouldn't hold, but once I open this up, I knew that it wouldn't be an issue. Very sturdy, and easy enough to install with minimal help from others... although, it'd be much easier to have somebody to help place the TV once hung.

  • Good bracket, go with a longer one for 50 inch TV's
    By A2YUDXQ4BW1FT0 on 2007-03-05
Was disappointed with this bracket when I first looked at it, but after hanging it I am completely pleased with it.

I have hung several friends TV's and this bracket has been the nicest of all of them, despite being the least expensive. The thin design allows the TV to lie closer to the wall then most brackets. The dowels in the pivot mechanism allows effortless positioning, that retains its position without restraint.

The only downfall of this bracket is that if you are using it on a 50 inch TV, go with the model with that supports 60 inch displays (ST660)so that you can mount the TV to three studs vs two.

  • Excellent Wall Mount
    By A267964RJAV5ZB on 2006-10-20
I bought this mount for the price, but was worried about the quality considering my TV was a huge investment. Let me tell you, I'm extremely happy with my purchase of this tilting wall mount. It tilts as easily as stated. My TV model was not covered in the sheet that said what screws to use for which model, but I was still able to find screws that can be used with the wall mount contained in the package. The installation was extremely simple anyone with a drill, leveler, and stud finder can do. I am very pleased with wall mount, I'd recommend it to anyone unsure of what to buy when putting your TV on the wall. I have never done it before and I can't tell you the pride you have when you do something like this yourself. FYI never mount a TV by yourself. You're going to need help lifting it and placing it on the wall correctly.

  • Beware!
    By A3GX2WCDIYVT4N on 2007-10-14
This unit will not fit my 47" TV. Make sure you measure the distance of between the mounting screws on the back of your set and ensure the wall plate is wider than this by at least a few inches.

  • Don't be fooled!!!! **Warning**
    By A2ZT4DUYN7R1N on 2006-11-22
I have yet to install this item, BUT I strongly suggest you read my review -
First off, my mount came in a ridiculously sized Amazon box. Literally 5 or 6 times the size needed. Also it was filled with a wasteful amount of packing insulation: Very unprofessional. However, this was just a small annoyance...
More importantly, I can tell you right off the bat that this is NOT the same mount as pictured. Personally, I made my decision based on the customer reviews, the price and the picture. I am very upset and disappointed because this is a much cheaper wall mount than the one pictured. I'm sure it will still get the job done because of the strong reviews but I can't believe no one mentioned this. Perhaps they send me the wrong item but I don't believe so.
In addition, the claim of "One-touch tilt allows tilt adjustment of +15°/-5° without the use of tools" is false. I consider `One-touch' to be one hand, making an adjustment to one component. The mount they sent me requires multiple adjustments on both sides of the mount in order to tilt.
To add insult to injury it was missing one of the `required tools' that is supposedly included. It was merely a 4mm hex wrench, which I have, but it still says something about their quality.
Again, I have yet to install and use this mount, and it still may be adequate but pre installation I'm quite disappointed.

  • Not what is shown
    By A1DNYVSV91KO48 on 2006-11-29
The wall mount may be a good product, but what they sell is not what is shown. This can be misleading advertising, and this is making me more cautious of amazon as time goes on.

  • Measure wall studs before purchasing. This will only span 2.
    By A3R6K5J0JL4UOP on 2007-08-23
This wall mount is designed to only span 2 wall studs (16" on center). The TV is centered on the wall plate, so for us that would have placed the TV 1 1/2 feet off center in the room. If you need to mount this across three wall studs for placement, get something from the ST670 line. We were passed our 30 days and couldn't return this to Amazon. However, Peerless was fantastic to deal with. Their online chat support and customer service reps RAWK! They sold us just the larger wall plate from the ST670 line (part number is 200-1901, about $48 with S&H).

  • Overall.......you will NOT go wrong with it
    By A2STP373H6N2LE on 2007-03-25
Why not 5 stars.....cause they send you a bazillion screws to mount a plethora or screens, but low and behold the mount instructions told me i needed #8-15...but those were not included....so 20 minutes on the phone with tech support they said....use the #8-16 but only turn it 4 times when threading....i was like....oh well...too bad home depot is closed.....and listened to them...but when i turned my tv over, the tv was labled on the back that i can use #8-15 to #8-24? (something like that) and to screw them in all the way.....

in the end, it all worked out....after some confusion.....

Basically it is just like hanging a picture....put mount on wall...(find studs...DRILL PILOTS as per directions.....screw on bracket....(USE A LEVEL)....and then attach 'mounting hook/brackets to TV....a little scary turning a plamsa over on its screen face....

then, just hook it on the wall, like hooking a picture to a nail...

    presto>>>>>PERFECT

didn't need the tilt...cause didn't put it high...for for this price, why not have the option....

hint: if you are mounting over 5 feet on the wall....you might need professions to lift a plasma....

  • Tricky for 50" plasma
    By A38T4U60XXJAGY on 2007-05-14
This mount works fine, and is strong and well-secured. The problem I had with it is its width. The bracket is only 30" wide, which means that you have very limited options in centering over studs. I have a narrow wall where being off-centered an inch or two would be visible. If I had a broader bracket I would have saved a good deal of fiddling around with the placement of the holes in the bracket and location of the studs.

  • What a deal
    By A1WD9DNSLLB9KZ on 2007-05-29
If you look at all the other mounts available, you should definitely consider this one. It does what is expected, mount tilts up and down and is very secure. It took my wife and I about an hour to get everything up and the tv on the wall looks great! The price is unbelievable in comparison to the other mounts out there. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. Now just to let you in on the overall adjustments and things, it has numerous holes to mount to the studs, but I would recommend mounting it as if it were centered on the two studs. You can position the tv, like the other reviews say, about three inches either way, but then it is secured into place, so you can't move it back and forth, without unscrewing the brace on the mount itself, not to say it cannot be done, but it isn't as easy as walking up and pushing it. The tilt is a secure tilt, meaning that once you have it where you want it, another screw secures it. If you plan on moving the tv around at will, I would not recommend this mount, but if you plan on placing it, attaching the tv and after minor adjustments, leaving it where it is, I would definitely recommend!

  • when mounting to metal studs
    By A3AMGLZKXA5ZUR on 2007-10-28
When mounting to metal studs, be sure to obtain some toggle bolts. They are not included in the order.

  • Not what the picture shows...
    By A2RR67D9AB3P4R on 2006-11-29
I was expecting something else, but, I am happy with what I got. Mounting it to the studs was a piece of cake (read the instructions). Mounting to the TV was easy too... they supply tonnes of mounting screws and spacers.
Overall, it is excellent and does the job well. I wish they'd put the right picture up though.

  • Great wall mount.
    By A2QJRMZEAQVYYQ on 2007-01-05
Definitely not the same as shown on the picture despite a recent reviewer's assertion. I do like the mount very much...specs for weight capacity and tv size is accurate...very solid and sturdy and seems closer to the wall than the one shown on the picture. Instructions are very clear and straightforward. Definitely a good buy.

  • Great Plasma Wall Mount
    By A2W1MVC5OR0I92 on 2007-02-12
I uploaded a picture of the actual mount you will receive if you order this from Amazon. I think that what Amazon is selling/shipping is a later version as I could not find anything among current models on the Peerless website that look like the Amazon picture. The current version looks like a simpler, but stronger mount as you are hooking up the TV closer to the wall. The earlier version might make it easier to shift the TV horizontally as it moves on a round bar, but that shouldn't be a big deal as I doubt I will be moving it much after the initial installation. I prefer a stronger mounting arrangement when it comes to a $2000 TV anyway.

Like others, I found the mount easy to install with the included hardware and the recommended tools. I used a socket on the wall mount screws for the last 3/4" or so as they are pretty long and my drill stalled out. I was able to do it myself with a 42" plasma, but another person would have been nice; someone else would be mandatory for anything bigger.

I'm very happy with the product and having my plasma on the wall as it really seemed to "open" up the room vs using the bottom mount and putting it on a table. The tilt feature gives a good viewing angle.

Update-Amazon now has a current picture of the mount that you will receive if you buy this.

  • ST650P Tilting Wall mount for Panasonic TV
    By A1IOJ7VOB7Y34Q on 2007-04-06
The wall mount does everything as outlined but tilt forward with my Panasonic th50px600u. There is a bump-out at the bottom and this set that does not allow the set to tilt down. This was the reason I purchased a tilting mount as the TV is mounted over the fireplace and only a few inches away from the ceiling. I am not happy with the results.

  • Very EZ to install 1 - 2 - 3
    By A47KCIZ70EL7H on 2008-01-06
Very EZ to install, up in 15 mins. Comes in three pieces.

    1) Find the center of two studs and attach wall mount to the wall,
    2) Attach the other two pieces to your TV, (using the screws that comes with this mount)and
    3) hang your TV to the wall...very easy.

Hint, you need to find the center of the studs and pre-drill holes, I used a sample stud finder that you can buy for around five bucks, you will also need a level, all the screws needed to hand the wall bracket and TV pieces came with this unit, (many screws comes in the package but you only use the correct screws for your TV). My TV was 88-pounds and the mount worked great, I have no fear that it would fall. The top of the TV pieces hook over the top of the mount so it made it easy to hang the TV, I needed two people to lift my TV (Samsung LNT4671F 46) I would highly recommend this mount.

  • Great product, but...
    By AVXH8BT74O68X on 2008-02-11
I purchased this wall mount after reading several favorable reviews and that the purchaser had the identical HDTV, Panasonic TH-42PE7U. The installation manual was fairly clear but made no mention of this particular television. A quick email to the customer service got a reply within one day that pretty much any TV with mounting holes up to 29.06 inches horizontally and 17.67 inches vertically would work.

I used 5/16" bolts to secure this to my wall. The top holes were large enough to accommodate this but the bottom holes were smaller. Out came the drill and problem solved. With a little help from my son the TV was up and ready for viewing. Other than the early scare this has worked out really well. The price can't be beat and the materials are first rate.

  • Great Wall Mount for Plasma Television
    By A3QK6FBELN6Y5N on 2006-11-28
We are very happy with our wall mount and have had no trouble with it whatsoever. It makes our new t.v. look great on the wall. It is everything it said it would be and was very easy to install. We would very much recommend this product.

  • Works extremely well but it is not the product in the picture!
    By A3UU77UY671XH0 on 2006-11-29
Easy installation. Simple and efficient. I am very happy. The product is not the one on the picture though. Amazon should do something about it..... by the way, it does come in a big box. Who cares?

  • Excellent product, great Customer Service
    By A2659BAFC5LWUZ on 2007-01-10
Bought this in combination with a Samsung HP-S5053 50" plasma, the detailed instructions didn't include the correct screw/bushing combination for this unit, so I called the customer service # and was pleasantly suprised by a short hold-time, a courteous representative and a quick and confident answer on which screws/bushings to use which would not damage the screen. It's been mounted for a week, and it's very solid. Would buy again.

  • Great product, great price.
    By A17M42W119C3OD on 2007-02-02
I bought this wall mount after looking at similar ones at Best Buy and Circuit City that all cost $200-300. Now that I have this wall mount, I don't know why anyone would spend more money for the other ones! This wall mount was easy to install and the TV was easy to hang once the bracket was installed. The wall mount gave me flexibility side-to-side, and the tilt angle was great (we mounted the TV over a fireplace and the tilt is sufficient to create a good viewing angle). I have a 42" Panasonic Plasma, and the wall mount brackets were compatible with the TV (it really is a universal wall mount). I would recommend this to anyone.

  • I did it myself
    By A3BV3Z8MQTJZAH on 2007-03-09
I was a little concerned about installing this by myself, but could not see paying someone else hundreds of dollars to do it for me. I used a studfinder to find the middle of the studs, then drilled 4 pilot holes and attached the bracket. I needed help hanging the TV on the wall, but it was very easy. My 42 inch plasma looks great hanging above my fireplace. I didn't hide the cables in the wall, but they aren't really that noticiable because they run down along the side of the brick fireplace.

  • great value
    By A2RH5YFPI3UK29 on 2007-04-10
Very easy to install. Used it to mount a 50" Panasonic Plasma with no problems. Highly recommended.

  • very nice product
    By A1CKJUPYJEMNFZ on 2007-04-16
Bought this product and was not sure if this will be good purchase given that the product is low priced...!!
Install was very smooth and it took just an hour to put everything together.
Just a side note for self installers that you should have good stud finder with you before you start the project...!
