Gustbuster By A1J6WUXR8D4GNO on 2006-07-01
The Gustbuster umbrella is great. It performs as advertised in high wind conditions.
Ugly bright colored logo ruins a classic looking umbrella By A3T6NN7666BOUS on 2007-09-18
The umbrella works fine, however what does not show in the picture is that there's a very ugly Gustbuster logo that is embroidered on one of the umbrella straps that is "multicolored and quite bright." It makes an otherwise classic looking umbrella look cheap and tacky.
Great product, ridiculous packaging By ASC1M0SVQQZUY on 2006-11-28
I didn't have time to go and hunt for a tough umbrella at the department stores, so I found and ordered this one. I'm happy with the umbrella itself, but the packaging for this umbrella alone (the box and all the air-filled sacks) completely filled up my trashcan. Amazon, please consider investing in some cardboard tubes so you don't have to ship a single item in a largely empty 48x16x12 box.
Lives up to its name By A3INZZUS2QNUAI on 2007-01-09
My commute to work involves what can be described only as a walk through a wind tunnel. The trash barrel near my office always has at least one umbrella in it, and my sturdy Totes 34" umbrella was blown inside out by the wind here.
I am pleased to say the GustBuster has worked perfectly and I am very pleased with my purchase. I would say I would buy another one, but I don't foresee this umbrella ever failing. This is an excellent umbrella.
A disappointing product By A20ZUNN7AOG5MQ on 2007-09-26
Arrived well-packed and promptly. Appeared initially to be an attractive, sturdy product. However, the release button soon fell off. Then the closer clasp went into terminal failure, meaning it tends to pop back open unless it is closed really carefully with both hands. Frankly, these are attributes I would expect of cheap box store merchandise. In constrast, I found a few old (30-40 years) umbrellas, when I was emptying my in-law's home that were apparently received as gifts and left there for me to pillage. They have not failed to function. Unless you have the personal allowance of my congressman, I would suggest you search auctions and even antique shops for similar older quality made in American products which can still provide you years of service.
- Classic beauty goes high-tech
     By A6VPIOPMDJ8H7 on 2008-01-03
I fold, as in, "I give up." I've owned my share of "wind-resistant" folding umbrellas and none of them lived up to the claim. Even GustBuster makes a folding umbrella but I was drawn to this one's classic beauty.
It's not so bulky that you can't take it everywhere and the canopy is the perfect size for him or her, or in a pinch, him AND her. The real wood crook-shaped handle gives it a touch of class. The opening mechanism relies on the proven coil-spring system, but that's where the similarity to other solid-shaft automatics ends.
Fiberglas takes the place of metal in the parts that might attract lightning, making the GustBuster light for its size but just as sturdy. Unzip the two Velcro straps, push the button and two canopies pop open to shield you from the rain. The raindrop-shaped openings allow the wind to pass between the canopies. Then aerodynamics take over, forcing the canopies to retain their shape instead of turning inside out. Elastic straps hold down the upper canopy, eliminating a gap where the rain might sneak in. A video of GustBuster's wind-cannon testing confirms their claims. You can see it at GustBuster's website (just tack on the ".com"). Combine this high level of engineering and thoughtful design with GustBuster's affordable pricing on all their umbrellas and it adds up to possibly the best umbrella value.
- Well worth the money
     By A2CMAV7RV07XX6 on 2007-03-14
I tried this umbrella in high winds and it held up as promised. I guess it's true that you get what you paid for.
- Great City Umbrella
     By AP941O5553TCO on 2008-01-14
This umbrella holds up when other umbrellas invert & leave you soaked. It is worth the money. I work in a downtown area. The wind whips between the buildings. The GustBuster is the only umbrella that I've owned that has not let me down when the wind kicks up along with the rain.
- Broke completely, almost immediately
     By AH36KZARBLHGX on 2008-01-29
I was excited to have this umbrella on a very rainy, windy day in San Francisco. A strong gust of wind came along and snapped not one but *every* support on the canopy, rendering the umbrella completely useless...and me completely soaked.
- Golf Umbrella
     By A21J9K5XOI2HX8 on 2006-07-10
Bought this umbrella to see how it would perform in the wind. Have used it in the rain, but not much wind yet. But I'm sure it will stand the test.
- very nice umbrella
     By AB0O7V64S2V20 on 2007-01-09
great value - i love the no-blowing-inside-out advantage of the umbrella,, and i like the classic look.
- The Best Umbrella
     By A29SOOG65MJWHW on 2007-10-22
Living in Duluth MN we have strong gusting winds, and this umbrella actually holds up to those winds. I have recommended it to all my friends. It is one of the best buys I have ever made.
- Won't stay up!
     By A3KM3V6ZCQIF7K on 2008-02-02
This looks like a quality product and I'm certain the materials are. The problem with this umbrella is that it doesn't lock into place when you put it up. Oddly, sometime it goes all the way up and other time it stays about 2 inches below the top of the shaft. Basically it needs some sort of locking mechanism so that it stays fully extended. Annoying? Yes.

This gustbuster umbrella was exactly as described, and , in my mind, the perfect umbrella.
- GustBuster works
     By A3P6GRC1U0YOUT on 2007-07-15
Great product. Works just as advertised. Never blows inside out. We've had to buy new ones only when we lose the old ones or someone borrows one and never returns it.
- Great Umbrella, even tho I eventually bought it elsewhere
     By A3JVD6IJPRCXT1 on 2007-09-26
I love the umbrella, well worth the cost as it is a quality piece of gear. I haven't encountered any gale-force winds with it yet, but it seems much more solid than any other umbrella I've owned.
After placing the order with Amazon, I was notified it was backordered. I cancelled the order and bought the same item (for the same price) elsewhere.
- The best umbrella I've ever seen period!
     By AIQ9NKGHNRKH3 on 2007-10-28
Purchased for my son-in-law for the Pittsburgh rainy and blustery days. He's never had such a fine working apperatus - Highly recommended...

GustBuster Classic 48-Inch Automatic Golf Umbrella
The GusterBuster Umbrella is the best umbrella I have owned thus far in my life. It is a very good quality umbrella and the design is sophisticated and appealing. This umbrella is the official umbrella of the PGA Tour. It is well worth your money if you would like an umbrella that can withstand strong winds while retaining style.

     By A3509EFYHGRAFA on 2007-12-24
The product is worth my time and money. Its a strong piece of accessory that I should have bought along time ago. I really appreciate the timely manner in which the product was packed and mailed to me.
Wonderful service.
- Performed as advertised
     By A34UWXDZG4N5HL on 2008-02-01
The umbrella did not turn inside out during windy rains. I was protected wearing nicer clothes while walking across campus at work and when walking the neighborhood for excercise. The handle on the 48" model was easy to grip and necessary when gusty. I intend to buy the next larger size for more coverage the next time. If the umbrella holds up through the rainy season, I would definitely rate it 5 stars. I've owned it for a month.
- A Practical Umbrella
     By APFZCPEJHT80C on 2008-02-09
A practical umbrella with air vents that really do help prevent blustery days from yanking it out of your hands or bringin it suddenly to ruination ,as is common with cheaper models. I am very happy with mine, although I would have liked to see a more elegantwood handle and tip.
- Excellent Umbrella
     By A2TKM90LAAL26U on 2008-02-09
I had gone through about 2 0r 3 other umbrellas before ordering this one. The others were cheap ones I had picked up at target or staples and usually broke within a couple of months of use. But this one has been sturdy since the first day. A great size for both me and my girlfriend, and still not too big to store at my desk or walking down a crowded street. Plus the hook is comfortable enough to hang it on your arm to free up both hands. A great umbrella for a good price.
- 48" GustBuster Umbrella
     By A1G70C4DUXXZ6Q on 2008-02-16
I have had the umbrella for over a month now. No problems. Works as designed. Has very good construction quality. I have used it in a gust of wind without a problem. I would buy another. There is a big difference compared to the cheap umbrellas you can buy at the supermarket.
- Great sturdy umbrella. Only buy golf umbrellas.
     By A3L5EZO9C7YEZG on 2008-03-19
I've never owned a golf umbrella. Have usually bought the cheap one button touch umbrellas however after seeing someone with one of these umbrellas it compelled me to buy one and try it. Every other umbrella doesn't compare! I will only buy a golf umbrella from now on. Its sturdy, strong, easy to use and has plenty of protection. You don't get wet. I definitely recommend this product. Rather than going through 5 cheap umbrellas- buy one golf and you will be happy.
- Great umbrella !
     By A22DX2QLGQEZY5 on 2008-04-06
This umbrella is very sharp. I've had it in alot of windy storms and it is durable. Looks great and is functional - a must have if you are outside alot of live in a city and walk alot.
- A+ Service, A+ products
     By A1GY4V185OPXCW on 2008-05-15
Their Service is great and they sell great products. What else needs to be said.
- Very nice umbrella
     By AR4E0RXBG3ZJ4 on 2008-08-28
This is a great buy. I like the classic styling/wooden hook handle. The "large logo" another reveiewer referred to is in fact a small little "GustBuster" logo on one of the two velcro straps that contain the closed umbrella around the post. Which really sums it up - there are TWO tabs (not one, like most) holding the closed umbrella aroudn the WOODEN post.
Very nice.
- cheap construction
     By A3K1MEFPKR4OIS on 2008-09-10
Purchased one last winter. The design worked very well in high wind conditions. That was until one day I opened it and the thing virtually exploded on me! All the stays are held in place at the top with a flimsy twisted bit of wire. When manufactured there was probably one twist too many. All the tension provided by the spring action proved to be too much and blam! Ended up with a useless tangle of nylon material and bent aluminum. As I mentioned, the umbrella worked extremely well for the few weeks before it died, I'm just reluctant to purchase a replacement unless assured that the quality of construction has improved.
- It's smart design. very nice.
     By A3FO9S8067Y2G2 on 2007-06-10
It's smart design. very nice. Just use one time, it's ok.
- great umbrella

Very solid, well made umbrella. This is a product that will last you a lifetime, unlike the junk at Wal-Mart.
