• Couldn't be happier!

  Perfect, perfect, perfect! I've used Amazon.com for almost 10 years, and this is the first item I've bought that I've felt compelled to review. This is an incredible value! I've admittedly only used it for about a week, but it's held its air as well as anyone could expect. I give it a few pumps before going to sleep, and I wake up and it's still firm. It inflates and deflates quickly. I love the fact that it uses batteries so it will work great outdoors, too. Fitted sheets stay on all night without slipping off. Tip: use a comforter as a mattress pad and you won't tell the difference between this and a real bed! Buy with confidence!

  We bought this after our friends had us sleep on one at their house: before that, I used to hate airbeds because you always wake up with your butt on the floor in the middle of the night (because the air leaks out), but this one doesn't have that problem. It also fills quickly and deflates quickly and easily (simple to store). We've had ours for 2 years: have slept on it ourselves (while camping) and housed guests on it. It has always worked flawlessly, no problems filling it up nice and firm. It does lose a bit of air after about 12 hours, so needs to be re-pumped daily. We take good care of ours: I wouldn't recommend putting extremely heavy people on it, and we always put something underneath it so it's not in direct contact with the ground (reduces the chance of a leak). The only negative is that the air drains your body warmth, which is a plus in the summer but on a cold night it's COLD to sleep on it unless you put something between the bed and the fitted sheet (e.g. a thin piece of foam) to retain warmth. Other airbeds are a pain to pump up and lose air within the night: this one is so easy to use, so inexpensive, yet so sturdy and comfortable, I still think it's the best airbed ever! (HINT: be sure to keep D batteries on hand! We only have to replace ours about once a year but it stinks to be ready to go to bed and the pump doesn't work because the batteries are dead. Batteries last for maybe 12-20 pump-ups.)

  The bed inflates and deflates easily. I couldn't seem to get the side furthest from the pump as firm as I would have liked but I did sleep well on it. I bought it for my son's apartment for when we would be visiting him and spending the night. The sheets fit well too.

  The first one I bought sprung a leak on the second usage simply by deflating it and rolling it up. Back it went. The second one gotten in the return has done the same thing, starting on the second usage and springing a leak with every roll up--I don't even roll it up any more due to this and it still springs leaks in the sidewalls constantly. I have never been more frustrated with an air mattress. Lost the original receipt so I have lost my $45. Don't buy this one. While the battery option is great and it fits in my van great, my eddie bauer one has never sprung a leak.

  The delivery of this product was right on time. The product does exactly what it is described to do. It made a week of camping with the Family a much more relaxing time. I love that the air pump is actualy built into the air-bed! And that with a simple twist you can deflate the bed for absolute easy folding and storage. Great Purchase!
  
  
• Pump is underpowered - won't inflate the bed fully

  Took this camping with my wife hoping for a comfortable sleep, but was sorely disappointed. The quality and construction of the actual air mattress is fine, but the pump is not powerful enough to fill the bed completely - after it reaches a certain point the pressure inside the bed is higher than the the force of the air being pumped = no more air going into the bed. Why ruin a perfectly good product by including a pump that won't do the job? And there's really no other means of adding air to fill the bed (the hand pump on the bed doesn't do a thing - maybe after a few thousand pumps you'd notice a difference).
  Long story short, we sunk low enough into the bed that we could feel small pebbles from the ground beneath, and we didn't get much sleep.
  I wish I could give this a higher rating, but until I find a way to fully inflate the mattress, it's useless.
  
  Note: Amazon's description says it comes with a storage bag; there's no storage bag.
  
  Update: after writing the review I tried inflating the bed again. Same problem with underpowered pump. But when the pump reached it's limit, I blew into the pump intake to help it out a bit, and after a while got the bed inflated to a semi-acceptable level and closed the cap immediately. At this level the built in hand pump is somewhat useful, and I could further inflate to a usable (but still not ideal) level. A lot of hassle, but I paid very little for this so I'll keep it. The only real problem is the under-powered pump.

  bought this a year ago, never opened it until recently and it leaks air too badly to use. Foot pump does not work either.

  I've had this air bed for approximately 6 years. We use it for camping and overnite guests...never had a problem...very comfortable. Easy to inflate and deflate. Am buying another as a gift!!

  Received this product just time for my latest camping trip. Work perfectly with no problems. Install batteries, stand back and watch it do the work. When it is time to pack up, reverse the pump and 30 seconds later you are done.

  I found this product to be very good since it did inflate faster than I thought it would have. After inflation it lasted a day before loosing it's firmness. It served it's purpose for the few days that I had to accommodate guests in my house. I would definitely recommend it.

  First, realize that no air bed will be as comfortable as a Posturepedic. With that in mind, though, this one is made of rugged materials, inflates surprisingly quickly, and deflates quickly. That's all you could want.
  
  
• sleeping on air

  Overall I liked the bed its comfortable, pumps up very fast and deflates fast. However it does loose air during the night,with two of us on it lasted about five hrs and then needed to be pumped, but its just a matter of reaching over the side and turning the knob to the on position and removing the small fill cap,this takes about two or three minutes and your good to go. This made tent camping much better and we both slept very well. I recomend it highly. Dave Horne
  
  
• Perfect for tent camping

  We bought this about a month ago to take on a 3 week trip out west. We stayed in motels a few times, but the majority of the nights we spent camping and sleeping on this mattress. My husband and I loved this mattress and found that it worked perfectly. It inflates quickly in just a few minutes and deflates quickly as well. It worked for us just as pictured on the video review on this site. This mattress saved us money because we stayed in motels less than we thought we would since camping was so comfortable. We encountered a 32 degree night in Yellowstone and were a little chilly one night, so if camping in cold weather, bring something to insulate the mattress from the cold ground. Most of the nights were 40 degrees and above and keeping warm was not a problem. We are very pleased with this product!
