  • Does not run on batteries

    By A3VDFW9UES58ZW on 2005-11-20
Ordered the air bed because it allegedly runs on 4 D-cell batteries. It does not! It requires 120 V electric outlet and that is its only power source.

  • Wrong info

    By A2BVNMTD504LHC on 2005-12-23
I notice that one of the previous reviewers mentioned that this item does not run on batteries, while the product specs listed state that it does. I myself noticed that the shipping weight is listed as 22 (or so) lbs. -- that also is inaccurate, I weighed this thing on a freight scale, and it was around 40. It felt even heavier than that, so much so that it was trouble moving it around before I inflated it. I don't think I'm going to use this for very long, because it rises so high off my waterbed frame! I should probably just break down and get a regular mattress....

  • for the price -perfect

    By A2M6DF86R0ONUV on 2006-05-02
I bought this air bed over others because I had seen it previewed on a TV shopping channel and I thought the inclining mattress was a wonderful idea. Mattress is heavier than Aero beds, but it seems to be made of heavier vinyl and that added weight gives the bed a great deal of stability...no flipping. I found the bed easy to move about the room, although I don't think I could bench press it over my head. I didn't have any problem with the bed losing air. After the bed is inflated for a couple of days, it gets a tiny bit soft due to expansion of the vinyl, but a quick blast from the motor and it is good to go again. The incline/recline works like a charm, and is very comfortable. The bed does require a thick mattress pad under the sheets, or the mattress is so cold through the sheets (this may be a plus in the summer), and the mattress is sometimes a bit noisy as the vinyl crinkles under you. These are very small complaints, and I received an air bed of which I turned out to be surprisingly pleased.

  • Without a doubt,, the worst experience in airbed sleeping

    By A2RPT8B795WQX1 on 2006-03-21
Bought the raised airbed in December for a visit to Toronto at Christmas.. inflated the bed, it immediately started losing air, but the time mid morning arrived,, 2-3am.. had to inflate the bed more, and then again at 6am.. once air starts leaving the bed, it wraps around you and is the most awful feeling of being consumed by some slug or something.. Even the information that came with the bed, tells you to expect that all air beds lose air.. this is just not true.. Coleman makes a better bed.. and i wish Wenzel would stand behind their product.. a $130. down the ole air hole,, R Guy Detroit Michigan. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE BAND FROM AMAZON

  • poor choice

    By A3T3S48UAVTUE9 on 2005-12-18
I purchased this item for extra sleeping for guests coming in for Christmas. Set the bed up and inflated it to make sure it worked - by morning the top mattress was deflated by half. Refilled it and checked the next morning - same thing- with no one even sleeping on it!

  • DON'T BUY !
    By AUS74ZRYEV5L2 on 2006-11-10
Don't! This item suffers from significant problems. First, because of the way the bottom of the bed is constructed, there develops a large depressed area in the center of the bed making it very uncomfortable and unsightly. Second, the "back rest" portion of the bed has never folded completely flat so using the bed is again uncomfortable. And finally, after only three months the item is now leaking air making it worthless. I rate this $130 bed JUNK.

  • Fast delivery, solid product
    By A3NZMZ6K0K9PAG on 2006-01-30
The product was delivered much faster than anticipated and is excellent for what it was designed. My husband and I used it on a visit to our grandchildren's house. It was easy to set up at night and stored away easily the next morning. The best part was that we both awoke without back pain!

  • Wenzel Queen Bed Raised Insta-Flex Air Bed
    By A2QD0G9PS02Y6Q on 2006-07-19
This is a very nice inflatable bed. It arrived within a week of ordering on line, was an excellent price compared to other stores locally and online. It only took a few minutes to fully inflate it and takes a good 15-20 minutes to deflate and is impossible to get back into the bag it came in. You simply cannot roll it as flat after it's been inflated. It's very comfortable as you can inflate it to the firmness you desire and adjust it for reclining as you please. It's a great bed to bring along if you go camping and don't like cots or the beds in the cabin. It's also great for after surgery if you cannot get to an upstairs bedroom. In my case, my dog broke her ACL ligament and couldn't go upstairs and I couldn't carry her either. For 3 months we slept in the living room on this bed. Only needs reinflated a little every couple of days to keep the firmness I needed for a good nights rest. I would recommend this bed to anyone in need of a bed that is adjustable. It's much cheaper than a complete adjustable bed which costs a few thousand dollars, is easy to move around as it's not heavy, and adjusts to full sitting up to laying flat at any degree needed for comfort. I also have a magic bed which you put under your mattress and the Wenzel is much easier to set up and adjusts more than the magic bed which only reclines at a 45 degree angle and the magic bed costs more.

  • Raised Insta-Flex Air Bed
    By A2IMDNR7KZT7DI on 2006-11-05
Due to the consruction of the top section, the edges of the bed stay firmly inflated, but the center portion does not and you "roll" to the center of the bed whether you want to or not. Also, this makes it difficult to climb out of the bed. The portion of the bed that you can raise is a good idea for someone who has just had surgery (which is why I ordered it), or for someone who likes to read in bed, but the manufacturer needs to work on the construction of the air chambers.

  • Air Bed Leakage
    By A3IMWJH94RVUWT on 2006-11-10
Set up bed. Had trouble with the pillow part. It didn't go all the way down, suggested by the brochure.

When we slept on the bed the first night, we kept losing air and the bed was slowly deflating. We checked for holes, and/or tears, found none. The air seemed to be seeping slowly from the valve. We inflated it every nite and by morning it was deflated again. Very uncomfortable, and frustrating, especially for my husband who slept on it. Since I have a back problem I slept on our 2 year old twin Aero bed which was like new.

Don't know if I would trust another one! Fortunately we were in our new Condo not on a camping trip. Our bedroom set was delivered 4 days later so we got comfortable again.

Got in touch with Wenzel and they told us to cut out the logo on the bed, and mail it back with an explanation as to what happened, and send a copy of the bill. We just did that and are waiting to hear from them.

  • The perfect Xtra bed
    By A38VK3PRMZKWAY on 2005-12-10
I was so pleased with everything. A previous review informed me it does Not use batteries, which made it perfect. Inflates quickly, directions are easy (don't really need any) it was packaged wonderfully and is extremely comfortable..I have purchased 2 other airbeds and this is definetly the most comfortable and most affordable. Great product!!!!

  • Great Spare Bed
    By A12AH4T4SU8FC9 on 2006-11-27
This bed was used quite a bit when my daughter recently got married. We had a lot of people from all over the country, and anyone that slept on this airbed said that it was very comfortable. The only thing I don't like is the weight of the airbed (VERY HEAVY). I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an extra bed that is easy and quick to set up and take down

  • Perfect for guests-easy to use.
    By A1SFBNE5FGMU8G on 2006-08-25
Bed was purchased for a visitor who is 6ft 6in tall and weighs about 240. He was extremely comfortable for the 2 wks he visited.

Bed was easy to open and inflate - even for a novice. The instructions were clear. The bed did lose some pressure due to the plastic stretching (this was mentioned in the instructions), and it was easy to pump back up.

One reviewer mentioned difficulty in deflating and folding the bed so that it fit back into the bag. I did not find this to be the case.

A couple suggestions: 1) If not on carpeting place an area rug or a couple of beach towels under the bed - makes it a lot easier to move. 2) If you have sharp-clawed pets, make sure to protect the bed with a heavy mattress cover to prevent punctures.

    Overall, I'm pleased.

  • no way to fix

  • Wenzel Queen Raised Air Bed
    By A1912PQLG8WJQX on 2007-01-09
Seems to be well-made of heavy-duty vinyl and easy to set up and adjust. Adjustable back makes reading or TV viewing a pleasure! The only fault I've found is that after some use, it develops a concave depression causing you to always roll toward the center.

  • Durability of the Wenzel Air Bed with Built-in AC Pump
    By A1FEY6Y9OMRIDC on 2007-01-18
The design of the bed is awesome. Unfortunately it would not hold air. There were no visible flaws. The instructions state that the bed will need additonal air after the bed is originally used. The bed would not hold air at all. (I only attempted to use it in the house and checked for possible problems there 1st)

I purchased another bed assuming that the 1st bed had a flaw and the second one did exactly the same thing. I love the design but I am disappointed in the quality.

  • relaxing

Found the air bed to more comfortable than previous mattress I owned Enjoy having the rised back for watching tv or reading

  • Underpowered Pump
    By AWTXOCBITO73F on 2006-12-15
This airbed was at a great price from Amazon and I liked the idea that it could be raised up to a sitting position. Unfortunately, the airbed did not inflate completely. The air pump initially became "strained" then stopped with the bed inflated approximately 3/4 full. I repeatedly allowed the pump to cool then tried to fill the remainder but the pump continued to strain and stop without filling the bed. Clearly, the pump is either underpowered or defective. Either way this airbed is totally unusable and I've returned it.

  • Instant Bed
    By A2W3I7TLCJOOWR on 2007-01-04
This bed was everything it said it was.I have really enjoyed this bed and would tell all my friends how easy it is to set up and use.

  • Deflates every time!!
    By A3DISFPOZL2EB1 on 2007-01-11
This mattress has deflated on my guests since the first time I used it. Very aggravating because it's a pain in the you-know-what to send something this large/heavy/bulky back.

  • unique but flawed
    By A8LBKI2O63JA4 on 2007-06-03
While I really like the air bed for nightly use, Wenzel Queen Raised Insta-Flex Air Bed with Built-in AC Pump this one, with the unique feature of being able to raise the upper part to a desired angle, has a flaw. It's only good for one person to sleep on because it sags in the center. I've used air beds for a couple of years and found them to be great for back and joint pain. I finally woke up pain free once I started using them. It's still a comfortable bed, but would be much better if it didn't sag.

  • Not worth the Money
    By AGWX7KB02SLER on 2006-12-21
Bed is not even after few hours of sleep, Very difficult if two people are sharing the bed, when one rolls in the sleep other person wakes worse still you will get up with back pain, shoulder pain even if you manage to sleep.

  • A Piece of S**T
    By A2DFE8ZMWCM0JG on 2007-01-08
This was a big waste of money. The first day of use, my two guest had to pump it back up about five times throughout the night.

I thought maybe it was because two people were on it. A couple of monthe later I had another guest sleep on it. He had to do the same thing. IHe ended up sleeping on the couch. He thought it was a mre comfortable sleep anyway.

Again, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

  • Wenzel Queen Raised Insta-Flex Air Bed with Built-in AC Pump
    By AEBL3S0CWBPTY on 2007-01-03
The pillow top portion of the bed started leaking after few times of use.

  • Basically I like it
    By A3EZ0G32TRL205 on 2007-01-13
This bed is very confortable, but holes developed within 3 months. Order a second one, hoping the first was just defected.

  • NOT GOOD!!!
    By A3ES1HLD5IU1BS on 2008-02-18
I purchased this bed and after only 3 or 4 times using it, it leaked air very badly. You would fill it and two hours later it needed air again, by morning it was almost on the floor. The company did stand by the warranty and did replace it. I just received the new one and its worse than the first one. I inflated it the first time and its allready leaking air, after first useage. By morning I was practically on the floor again. TERRIBLE!!! There are no tears, its brand new, but still it is leaking air somewhere.
Also this is bed is only good for one person, if two people sleeps on it it sags in the middle and you roll into one another. Its like sleeping on a hill. Definately does not support two people, its very uncomfortable. The bed with the backrest is a nice idea, but the quailty and durabilty of this bed is not good.
I have called the company to tell them the second one they sent me is loosing air also but they will not replace it again. There is no warranty on a replacement! So I spent all this money snd still don't have a bed that works properly. VERY DISSATIFIED!!! Buy an aero bed, I have never had a problem with those.

  • Good sleeping
    By A3R1Z9F2BBEH3Z on 2007-01-04
I sleep on this bed every night. It almost feels like my regular bed which is also an air mattress bed. Easy to move around, I put my foam mattress topper on top and I sleep like a baby. Can't say I notice a large amount of air lose, but all you have to do is turn the switch and add air, simple.

  • Great Sleep
    By A2MA3SKNPXV4T7 on 2007-01-05
I highly recommend the Wenzel Raised Insta-Flex Air Bed over any other air bed out there. I have had two other brands and Wenzel is the best. Having a bad back, sleeping on an air mattress is not something I look forward to, but because of the height of this bed and just all around general quality, I have had no back problems and have slept great. The built-in air pump is a dream as well.

  • Enjoyfull bed
    By A20XS0ZFK51EI1 on 2007-05-06
My wife love this bed. It is fantastic. The built-in air pump is very good.
