  As a long-time fan of TMBG, I often played some of their music to my 16 month-old son. I got the DVD a couple of months ago and my son absolutely loves it - in fact he clamours for it (by waving the DVD remote control in my face urgently).
  
  I think it's TMBG's best work in a long time (and that's saying a lot). All the songs have very catchy tunes and are highly amusing: they'll have you humming after the first viewing. The visuals are also very well produced and kid-friendly.
  
  The musical styles are quite varied - from jangly upbeat kid stuff ("Go For G", "Fake Believe"), to ballads ("D and W", "Can You Find It?"), to rock 'n roll ("Who Put the Alphabet..."), to country-western ("I C U"), to psychedelic ("Pictures of Pandas Painting"), to electronica/dance ("Alphabet Lost and Found").
  
  Every song is guaranteed to stick in your head for weeks to come.
  
  Get this DVD/CD: I highly recommend it for both the kids and the adults in the family.

  My husband is a big fan of TMBG and bought this months ago and our son didn't show a lot of interest (he's a bit wiggles obsessed). Fast forward six months and our son is 2.5 and LOVES this DVD. He knows his ABC's and this only reinforces what he is learning from us and preschool. The songs are great and have a good beat and it's something that I enjoy listening to also. It's fun, upbeat, and educational.

  Great CD/DVD that is catchy. A must have for the car that an adult can enjoy (versus the Zanes CD's that are for kids only).

• Good Music, Bad DVD

  I bought this CD/DVD combo for my 17 month old son last week. He has only been watching TV for about 3 weeks now. We have watched the DVD twice and we really don't like it. The music is great and my son does dance to it. But the video clips for the letters are not kid friendly in my opinion. There is only one part where the alphabet is said in order, and that is with a robot and a little girl. The robot is hard to understand and the little girl talks like a baby. The song "E eats everything" is good visually and is pretty much in order but it continues to go back to the letter E for the corus. Alot of the skits are too fast for any child under 3 to visually keep up with. My son lost interest about 15 minutes into the program.
  
  We had some friends over and played it for them to see if our opinion was too harsh, and they all agreed that it was too much for a child, and definately not a good learning tool for the alphabet. We will continue to play the CD because the music was okay.

  This is one of my kids' favorite CD's. My kids (ages 2 and 4) know all the songs and are having fun learning letters in a creative way. The CD also comes with a DVD of music videos which is great. It helped me understand some of the nonsense songs a little better. The songs are simple, upbeat, and fun. I would recommend it to everyone!

  My nephews love this - great quirky songs that make learning the alphabet fun. Only They Might Be Giants could come up with great songs like E Eats Everything and Pictures Of Pandas Painting Penguins.

  We bought this when it first came out for our son who was about 5 months old at the time. He immediately took to the music and loved everything going on in the DVD. He is now 2 years old, knows his alphabet and can sing most of the songs on the CD. Every time we are in the car he asks for his ABC's CD. As parents, the music is so great that we don't even get sick of hearing the same CD over and over again. This is most definitely a must buy!!!!!

  They Might Be Giants rocked my world in - was it '89? - with Ana Ng and others, opening my eyes to super fun and clever alternative music in my teen years. Now as a 30-something mother of two, I feel pathetically out of touch with any new or cool music, it's just hard to keep up while juggling life now. I am THRILLED that my old love, TMBG, has not failed me in my predicament, but has provided the perfect solution - their awesome sound and clever lyric-writing with kid-level content so my daughters and I can all enjoy it together. And I'm a big fan of the alphabet, so this is our perfect match! WE LOVE THIS CD!!!

  My entire family has fallen in love with John and John. My two year old is recognizing more letters each day, and my boys sing the songs all day. The dvd is so fun to watch for kids and grown-ups alike!

  We bought this DVD when our triplets (boy, boy, girl) were about 2 yrs old. It was an instant hit! The first day they watched it at least 3 times in a row. The following 2-3 days were just the same. Within a week, they went from knowing very few of their alphabet to recognizing all of the letters, even out of order. It was absolutely amazing!
  
  This combination of audio/visual learning is a much better way to learn the letters than memorizing the usual ABC song. How many people can say the alphabet backward? I could not, until I heard TMBG's ZYX song. Imagine that, even a 40-something can learn from this music!
  
  Our triplets are now over 3 yrs old and still ask to watch it. I have to admit, I like it as much as they do. I am not a TMBG fan, but I LOVE this DVD/CD. It is the best childrens music we own - Thank you John & John!
  
  
  
• ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC

  This is the best buy I've done recently. My daughter doesn't get tired of the music, she loves all the songs and she has learned the ABC's from this CD. The DVD is a super bonus. The first time I watched it I enjoyed a lot. The Q & U and the ICU songs are HILARIOUS. I told my husband about it and he kind of teased me saying "I am so glad you are having so much fun with your daughter". Several days ago he watched it for the first time and he agreed with me a 100%.. He loved it. It is so creative, so well done, every song is visually different. I would recommend it to everybody. Really refreshing. I wish the NO!! CD had its own DVD too.

  the combo is a good deal, first. also the songs are very catchy -- for all ages. the puppets are not my favorite thing but the john & john variety are cute. it would have probably been better w/out the disney backing but, hey, every child should learn tidbits from TMBG even if it is slightly watered down, right?!

  My day care kids love it, my 15 year old loves it because she is 'obsessed' with They Might Be Giants. Was encouraged by my 15 year old to purchase since this combo included extra footage that was not on the DVD we continually rented from our local library. 'Alphabet of Nations' and the backwards alphabet song are great! Day care kids like 'E eats Everything.' I would highly recommend this CD/DVD combo of catchy tunes.

  I purchased this CD/DVD combo based on a recommendation in Family Fun Magazine. I have not been disappointed! It is full of catchy songs that my whole family enjoys. This is not another mind-numbing kids CD. Both my husband and I find ourselves singing along with our sons when we play this CD in the van. Well done!
  
  
• Screw Baby Einstein!

  I am still relatively sane because of this DVD. It is the only thing my son will watch. He has loved it since the first time we put it on for him. We have been watching it almost every day for 6 months and I still dont hate it...I love it! My husband and I know all the songs and he has even been known to sneak one or two in on a compilation he makes for a friend. I can now impress people with my ability to recite the alphabet backwards and name a different country for every letter in a matter of seconds. So screw Baby Einstein! Thank God for TMBG! I cant wait for the new 123s coming out in 2008!

  i feel for the kid/dad/mom who don't "get" or appreciate this DVD. the music and lyrics are beyond clever and the video/graphic artistry is so smart and well-done. when the music is synched with the images, it's magic.

  My five-year-old grandson loves "They Might Be Giants"; so when he was having a problem learning his letters, I purchased this cd/dvd combo without knowing what was on it. He loves the DVD, he sings the songs, he watches, and he learns. His favorite: E Eats Everything. There are familar songs by this group and new songs. His parents keep the CD in the car for entertainment and learning on long road trips. Rhythmic and entertaining even for Granma.

  My son loves this video. The songs are really catchy and have helped him learn his letters tremendously. The best part is that it isn't annoying for the adults. I find myself singing the songs to myself often and wouldn't hesitate playing the CD in the car (even when the kids aren't with me.)

  Great album - everyone in our family loves it. Terrific for long trips - great songs to sing along to without being cutesy. I must have heard it over 50 times and still enjoy it. It is mandatory for our 3 year old.
