Best grater I've ever owned By A3EGCEEOHOW2LW on 2005-12-30
I just got this grater and I was blown away with how sharp it is! It makes grating so easy. At first I was a little skeptical about the manufacture's claim to having razor sharp teeth but now that I've tried it - I know they are for real. The grater seems to effortlessly shave through everything without tearing or shredding the food. And b/c it was so effortless, I could just hold the grater over my food and grate right onto it. I would highly recommend this grater and will definitely be looking to getting some of their other graters. Cuisipro well done!
GREAT Grater/Zester By A2KP45DO3RY4RG on 2006-10-14
I bought this as a zester, but I use it all the time for cheese - heaps of cheese just fall on to or into whatever you need cheese in. I used it recently for the ginger I keep frozen and it went through the frozen ginger no problem and made a nifty fluffy little pile of ginger (which I used in my tea pot). I have yet to use it for zesting - but gave it as a gift to a budding chef who zests with it all the time, he says it's GREAT! If it dulls after a year, for this price, I'll just buy another. Buy this with confidence.
Excellent grater By A1G2UX134YSMTV on 2005-12-31
I've purchased this and other Cuisipro graters and really appreciate the quality and sharpness of their blades. I've given these graters as gifts for friends and family and everyone loves them. I use this flat grater for parmesan and citrus zests and have used it recently for ginger. This is an essential tool in my kitchen.
Splurge for the brand name By A2ON5HS91G0P4 on 2007-03-02
I bought this for my boyfriend, who enjoys cooking (yes, what a lucky girl I am!) His mother had one of the brand-name mini zester/graters, which I have also used, so I was hoping this would match its caliber. While it is definitely better at zesting and grating harder cheeses (where my normal box grater would fail), it still isn't as good as the brand-name one. also, this doesn't come in a sheath, so it's sort of dangerous to keep laying around in a drawer. The little thin slats will take your skin off. The brand name one comes with a protective sheet, which also keeps it from dulling.
Fine if you only use it once a month. If you bake or cook with zests or are a fan of fresh parmigiano reggiano on everything, go for a better one.
Fantastic Product By AM5T8H6WCQQPV on 2005-12-30
Great Product. Using stamped steel graters is an insult in comparision.
- It's GRATE!!!
     By AV8MDYLHHTUOY on 2006-12-15
What else can one say? This grater/zester is well made, is easy to use and produces very zesty zest. It's grate for greating (or is that great for grating).
It doesn't have a lot of surface area and has a curved top, so I'd avoid using it for things like carrots. It works very well for hard cheeses and for zesting lemons and oranges.
The grater/zester cleans up fairly easily and is comfortable to use. It's also well-priced.
- high quality for the price
     By ASOJ806F3839J on 2006-11-17
this is a very sturdy zester and at a reasonable price. my only issue is that its a little difficult to get the zest off the back of the grater - you can't just slide it off the end because of the way its constructed. Other than that - a very good product.
- bargain kitchen tool.
     By A1SI2993YY7C61 on 2007-01-03
It's just like a Microplane(tm): a kitchen version of a wood-rasp. It just plane (pardon the pun) works. But I take issue with the construction. They cut a corner by making the handle hollow. I appreciate the attempt to make the handle larger and more ergonomic, but it should have been solid. The hollowness throws off the balance and feels cheap in the hand. So, aside from feeling like a cheap toy, it zests and grates with the best of them.
- grater/zester
     By A2JPBF2PJ0AASA on 2007-01-03
i am so glad i bought this, i can't believe how much easier it makes obtaining lemon zest for assorted recipes. i was using the smallest side of a large cheese grater before, and it was very difficult to scrape the zest off the grater. turns grating drudgery into a pleaaasure!
- This little invention is awesome!
     By A3HS0J0CR65PDU on 2007-01-18
I've had a microplane grater/zester for a few years now. This one has a grip on the end to prevent it from slipping on my counter when grating. It also has a nice grippy handle (unlike my original one) which also makes things more comfortable. I easily grate parmesean, whole nutmegs and zest fruits like lemons and oranges. Gotta be careful but it's worth it.

     By A1MIESF5B7DJHA on 2007-01-18
I was very disappointed in the quality of construction once I received the item. I was looking to give them as stocking stuffers thinking that they would be a heavy gauge stainless steel. Not near strong enough to be a grater, zesting is fine.

Works really well on one side of grater but not on the whole surface. Maybe if you were left handed the other side would do better. Still is fast and easy and clean up is easy.

Excellent grater! It makes grating ginger a breeze, something I've have problems doing with every other grater I've owned. Usually the fibrous threads in the ginger get stuck in the grater and clog it up, but not with this grater. It doesn't work quite as well as a zester-- the size of the blade is a little unweildy for the curved surface of a small orange or lemon, but it's still better than a lot of other zesters I have used.
- Great item at a great price.
     By A3OY8VD5O7NUK on 2006-12-30
I purchased this item for myself and I love it. It is very sharp and easy to use. I liked it so much that I bought another one as a gift for a friend.
- A great find!
     By A1BU6G8SM7RVNL on 2007-02-09
Absolutely love the grater. I have always found it a chore to grate hard cheeses like parmesan and just grating in general is usually more work than I like. When doing cheddar-like cheese it grates a finer string versus a standard size you get from a regular grater. Just move it back and forth over the cheese and it does the job with ease. If I could only have 5 tools in my kitchen this would be one of them.
- good tool for kitchen
     By A26NTJEZUNLXDT on 2007-02-16
This is a good tool for any kitchen. Works well, because everything falls into the food you ae working with, unlike box graters. Good for when you just need a small amount of something grated: parmesan, nutmeg, fine lemon/lime zest. I use everyday and it seems to be a tool that will last a long time.
- overall excellent
     By A10P2PXTFJMSG1 on 2008-01-31
pros- i find it very sharp and efficient. zest comes off quickly without the pith! grates nutmeg superbly.
cons- it does have a slight issue with the balance due to the lightweight handle, and retrieving zest stuck to the back side is a little cumbersome due to the design (both of these have been mentioned by previous reviewers, but are noteworthy)
i do recommend this. great grater for super cheap.

Great item! Takes care of citrus zesting in no time. Easy to clean!
- Good Choice

Never had one of these before. So far used it for lemon, orange zest and ginger, too. Works well
- Nice Kitchen Gadget
     By A1J1L1AUR8ZTOB on 2007-05-12
Handy kitchen gadget, good for grating citrus zest, ginger and parmesan cheese, however, blades weren't as sharp as I had expected. Decent quality construction.
- A kitchen essential
     By A2G05P7VY5PRNH on 2007-05-15
A very fine grater/zester. I don't know how I functioned so long in the kitchen without it when it came to grating/zesting duties. You won't be disappointed, and the price is right.
- No Cutting Hands
     By A117E2UOVFYFSC on 2007-05-23
This Grater is Grate!! (sorry!) I'm not afraid of cutting my hands while using this product. It works like a dream.
- Zest N Grate!
     By A2Y25NQCJ905RK on 2008-01-11
I bought this last april and never used it. Well today I wanted to roast a chicken. Scanning my fridge I found some rosemary and on the counter a soft juicy lemon. I pulled a out a grater to zest the lemon and to my surprise the grater didn't work. The soft lemon just flatten and rubbed the surface. Then I remembered this brand new zester still wrapped in the drawer. Wow as I pulled off the protective tape I observed how really sharp it is. My super soft juicy lemon was zested in no time with very little effort. My former zester is now resting comfortably in the recycle bin. Lemon zest, minced rosemary! The kitchen smells delightful and my new zester works great. Be careful I skinned my thumb when I got to close. This is very sharp! The Best of Simon & Garfunkel Just a little mood music; Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.......
- Love it!
     By A23TFV1CGBEEXL on 2008-03-31
I bought several of the best I could find at the local grocery and discount stores, but they kept all the zest on the utensil and not in the food I was cooking. Scraping it off was next to impossible. This does exactly what it's supposed to do...easily! Cleanup is a breeze. It even handles parmesan cheese beautifully.
- Just What I Was Looking For!
     By A2KW2003QOM82P on 2007-01-11
This grater/zester is so easy to use, versatile, and easy-to-clean. It feels like it will last a long time. I use it almost every day. I would recommend it to anyone, especially lemon, lime, and orange zest lovers.
- FUN LITTLE ZESTER
     By A2WRI5KXGQARIA on 2007-03-30
I have enjoyed using this zester. It's small enough to store easily and my kids will actually help zest and shred food because they aren't afraid of scraping their nuckles. This zester is dishwasher safe and has held up great so far. Overall, it's been quite handy!
- Cuisipro Zester
     By A3JKLVGP0I5YF8 on 2007-03-31
I do not recommend this zester. I found the blades to be dull and difficult to use. I have other zesters that work great and by comparison this one is a no go!
- PERFECT FIND!
     By A2OGKI5CHGHI4J on 2007-06-08
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A MICRO ZESTER EVERYWHERE AND EVEN IN THE HIGH END STORES THEY CAN'T BE FOUND. THIS ONE IS PERFECT! MADE HANDSOME AND DURABLE, IT'S A STEAL FOR THE PRICE!
- Wow... I love it!
     By AFZKJP8I0PO3X on 2007-09-24
I bought this particular zester because a reviewer mentioned grating frozen ginger, and that's exactly what I needed it for. Since then I have done zesting, frozen ginger (over and over again, and it grates it like it's nothing!), even cheese, and it cleans up afterwards like a dream. It was such a must-have that I bought one for my envious mom! I've even put it in the dishwasher, (but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to!)
- It's hard to go wrong
     By A2FIB50XA987F7 on 2007-10-11
This review is pretty simple: if you need a microplane or a grater, it's hard to screw it up by getting this. It works great and I haven't had any problems with it. If this were eBay I would say "A++++, would buy again"
