• Powerful little speakers!

  Our speakers arrived today, and they amaze us. Great sound, well-constructed, fold up compactly for easy travel.
  
  Since the frequency response is 150-18KHz they do put out nice sound...not the "tinny" version I had feared. These are nice little speakers! (After all, they ARE amplified)
  
  The included USB power cable allows you to power them from a computer, and also from an "IPod" charger/adapter. Actually, we've just ordered a different brand "IPod" power adapter from Amazon for $2.99 (iPod USB Travel Power Charger Adapter, by Handhelditems). Why waste $30.00 for an Apple version?
  
  If you want nice sound from small speakers, these little beauties won't disappoint you. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

  I purchased these speakers to take with me on vacation. They do fold up nicely and the sound is about as good as a typical portable radio, and they are nice to have when you want a simple solution for listening to your iPod while on the road. However, beware that the unit is very cheaply made. I found that I could not put on the battery cover without displacing the batteries enough that the unit would not power on. I had to leave the battery cover off or loose on the unit. I don't think these will be a permanent set of travel speakers for my iPod--they are just too cheaply made to be reliable. It's worth the money I paid--but just barely.

  OK, you want speakers for your iPod, don't you? Well, do you want to pay $300 bucks for APPLE brand speakers?? NO, of course not. I am telling your right now, buy these speakers. They were so cheaply priced, and such a steal for what they are. They DO sound good, you can take them up pretty loud, and yes they are perfect for the office, because that is where I have mine.
  
  My only recommendation is, if you are worried about using batteries, go to Radio Shack and pick up the right wall power adapter, and then you will not have to spend another penny on speakers after that. I love these speakers, I don't have a bad thing to say about them. I promise you will like them.

  I got these speakers for my Ipod mini. The speakers are awsome i use them at night before i go to bed. I use the sleep thing on my I pod and if you leave them on all night with batteries, they will die. So if your going to use it a lot get an ac adpter. They sound really great i would recomend this item. There not the loudest booming speakers but they have good sound quilty. I like how they can fold up for traveling. Small very good sounding mini speaker system.

  As always, one has to have a realistic expectation to go with the price of anything one purchases. Given that, these little speakers, at well under $10 are astounding.
  
  Yes, they're not of the highest quality, but they've worked for my kids well, the sound/volume is excellent for their needs (or even higher). Any plastic product of this nature is relatively fragile, and it surprises me that so many feel the necessity of commenting on this.
  
  I purchased three sets, one for each kid and one spare. The batteries fit and stay put, the covers all work, the "player tray" works both in use and folded. The sound is best when the volume on the player (iPod, cd, etc) is set to maximum and the playback is controlled by the speakers.
  
  I have absolutely no hesitation in giving these five stars. If my kids get six months use from them, we're are megadollars ahead of the game.

  This is a nice compact set of speakers that has great sound quality. I absolutely love it and is worth every penny I paid for it. As you see below my only two dislikes are: it does not charge the Ipod, so I have to make sure its charged when I use the batteries or ac adapter, and it did not come with an ac adapter.

• Blown Away

  I recently purchased these little speakers and was shocked when I first pluged them in. The sound was 100X better then I could have imagined, and much louder as well. As long as you leave the volume on the speakers just below max there is no distortion, and only a little at full volume. I haven't had any problems with the battery case like the previous review and overall think that they are very well made. I'm gonna order a few more as they would make great gifts for iPod users.

  I couldn't get an FM transmitter to work with my iPod, probably due to the area I live in, so what was my next thought? Portable speakers! I don't have a lot of money (iPod was a gift)and needed something that was small enough to carry in a purse. Unlike some other people, I am pleased with this little unit. It's portablity and price is unbeatable!! I had no problems with installing the batteries or keeping the cover on. The unit is light weight and seems fairly sturdy. I tossed it around a bit to simulate the damage it might receive in my car and nothing broke. The sound is fairly good with all types of music. The only thing that compromises the sound is by putting the speakers up to full volume and the iPod up to full volume, the sound becomes real tinny and almost staticy. However, I found that with the iPod at half volume and this device at full volume, the sound was clear and fairly loud! I could hear it just fine over highway noise! This was a great purchase to serve my purpose. So if you're looking for a cheap set of speakers for the road, vacation or just a room.. this just might do the trick! I think it was well worth the money I spent.

  I recently bought these speakers because I wanted to play my iPod in the office. The sound is better then expected. While I would get a better speaker system for my home, for the office or on the go, these will do very nicely.

  I bought these speakers for traveling so that I could listen to my ipod in hotel rooms and other environments where wearing earphones would be uncomfortable and blasting loud music would be inappropriate. They are of course constructed of cheap plastic and very lightweight but are able to produce an enjoyable sound at a descent volume. I have personally not had any problems with connecting any of my ipods to this unit (I have a Nano and a 30 GB), nor have I had any issues with the battery cover or the docking component. After using this product and traveling with it, I definitely recommend it to anyone not expecting Bose quality sound but looking for something effective in closed quarters. And at the price, there's really no way to justify not picking up a pair, even if it's to spare your existing speakers some wear and tear.

  For the price of these teensy speakers, they are terrific. I use them with my Ipod and do yoga outside in the backyard. Perfect for something like that. Don't count on them to blast music through the house when you're having a party, but in smaller situations throughout the place, you'll be fine.

  Not only did this seller overcharge me for shipping (charged me DOUBLE what their shipping rates page said - $8.99 to send a 10 oz package USPS!!!), and wouldn't fix it when I complained, they also sent me a DIFFERENT BRAND of iPod speakers. Like I wouldn't notice??? I am very unhappy with this purchase. Beware!

  It's under $10, what do you expect!?! This model, this device, is sold under numerous companies. You'll find it everywhere sold by different vendors. I got one. It works. That's all you can say. Sound quality isn't very good but IT WAS 10 BUCKS! What do you expect? If you play it at a normal volume, it's ok, but once you crank it, forget it. Nothing but distortion. I'd use this if you're right next to it in a quiet room but other than that, forget it.

  For their size, these speakers give great sound. I can turn them on in my bedroom and hear them clearly downstairs.
  
  The bass is GREAT also. Their portable size is really cool also.

  I just got these speakers a little while ago, and I have yet to find fault with them. It took a minute to find the cord that goes to the headphone jack, and it's a bit annoying that it doesn't charge, but for the price, they're amazing. Get 'em!

  I love this product. I was a little wary about it's size, but wow this little device really packs quite a punch!!!! The sound quality is pretty good, but it gets a little fuzzy the louder you make it. It folds into a convenient cube for easy storage and it's perfect for the car, a party, or anytime!! Two thumbs way up!!!

  whenever i bring out these speakers i can see the eyes roll until i turn them on. theyre loud, they have good bass, and theyre definitely portable. i am so impressed with these and so are my friends. they couldnt be more worth the money!

  For this price, how can you go wrong? They work, the sound is decent and they fold up perfectly. I am amazed! If you're looking for a way to listen to your ipod at work or in the kitchen, say... they're perfect.

  i got these free from office max, with another MP3 player. they sound almost as good as the AltecLansing $100 speakers for my friends iPod. but these are smaller and more portable. so he got them too. They are great! (I am a bit of an audiophile, i got these for a my Archos AV500)

• They're Adequate, But Not Great

  I've owned these speakers for over a month now. Shipping costs made them more expensive than they seemed. Be sure to take that into account when deciding if they're worth the cost.
  
  I bought these to listen to podcasts in my car since it doesn't have a tape deck and I have not had any luck with FM transmitters. The speakers are somewhat quiet for this purpose. I have to turn them up all the way and the iPod volume up almost all the way to hear well enough over normal car noise. When they're up this loud the sound quality suffers, especially the higher frequencies. At lower sound levels, in a quiet area, they sound OK.
  
  I also discovered that the sound quality gets very bad as the batteries weaken. Sound quality had gotten so bad I was ready to throw the speakers away until I decided to try fresh batteries. (I didn't realize the problem was batteries because the volume didn't seem to drop.) The new batteries restored quality to its original mediocre level. For me, the batteries last 15-20 hours of play time.

  Yea, so they seem like they might not stand being dropped. But the sound is amazing for something that costs $7! Buy three or four in case they break. Also, they don't have a dc adapter but they do come with a USB port adapter which you can plug into your ipod charger... no batteries necessary you just can't charge your ipod and run your speakers at the same time.

  This was an example of "you get what you pay for". I could barely hear the speakers when I had the volume turned all the way up in a very quiet room. I do NOT recommend these speakers at all---it was a complete waste of money.
  
  
• GREAT for travel

  These speakers are super convenient. They fold up so it is easy for me to fit them in with the rest of my stuff, and the sound quality is pretty good considering how much I paid for them.
  
  The most surprising thing about these little guys is how long the batteries last. With a set of those long-lasing ones the speakers will easily outlast many charges of my ipod, even when set to a high volume.
  
  These come in most handy when I am hiking becasue they are cheap so I don't have to worry about breaking them and small enough as to not take up that much space.

• Pretty decent for what it is

  I was hoping to get a small set of speakers that I could carry around the house and use to listen to my iPod while taking a shower, folding the laundry, whatever. And that's pretty much exactly what it is. The cradle is best designed for thicker, older iPods, so my 5G iPod floats around a bit in it, but either way it works. It does have a blue LED when the power is on, which is really really bright, like super bright.

  The problem with these speakers is the glue used to adhere the speakers to the plastic housing. The glue becomes brittle and loses it's adherence. My speakers fell apart because of this.
  So, I unscrewed the housing and stuffed a folded paper napkin between the inside back of the speaker housing and the metal back of the speaker, to cause the speaker to push forward against the housing. Then I screwed it back together and it was fine. For the price I don't mind doing this and I like the sound and portability and would actually recommend these speakers. I like these speakers and their sound quality but I can't seem to edit my one star rating.
