(13 reviews)

Best Price: $64.99 $39.00

The Sound Scale from CTA Digital is the new measure of Sound and functionality for your Apple iPod. Now you can convert your iPod into a home stereo system to the functionality of larger systems. Unlike other speaker systems for the iPod, the Sound Scale offers the convenience of a fully functional remote that allows you to change the volume, track, and even the sound fidelity from across the room. Turn up the volume on the two dome speakers and enjoy crystal clear sound that fills the room. The base charges your iPod when cradled and has a LED light that lets you know when your iPod is in operation or when you are using the remote. Sit back, pull up a chair and listen and enjoy your iPod in a way that was not possible before. MPN: IP-RSS - UPC: 656777009922

  • Perfect

I was looking for a speaker system for my iPod for my office. I have the 30 gig Viedo iPod. I tried the iBoom, but returned it due to the volume level not going low enough. This CTA system is AWESOME! The audio quality is very good for the size of the system. The enclosures are 90% aluminum...not plastic. The only complaint I have is the power cord is not long enough...its about 3 feet long...so I cant really put it where I wanted to until I get an exension cord. The remote is very handy - it has volume, bass, treble, skip back and forward, stop, pause/play, mute, random and repeat. Great product!!!

When I was looking for an accessory for my office to play my Ipod, I needed something compact, affordable, nice looking, and with great sound. These two speakers product huge amounts of sound that are great. The overall footprint of the unit is so small it takes up almost no desk space. I love the remote so I can control my music from across the room. I do wish the remote would let you control the playlists and menus, but then again, you couldn't see the screen from across the room. Overall it's a great unit, affordable, and with great sound.

  • Amazing system

I bought this after reading the previous reviews (plus it was on sale for $35) as an inexpensive small speaker system to leave at our cabin. We tried it out this weekend and were pleasantly surprised at the sound that it produces. With its small size and the remote control, we can leave it tucked out of the way or move it outdoors. I recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive speaker system for their ipod. It comes with various adapters for the different models of ipods.

  • Great Little Set of Speakers!

    By AHLB2FS49ZKOS on 2007-01-18
For a small speaker system, the quality of sound is exceptional. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a speaker system for an iPod nano or regular iPod. The remote control has features to change the treble and bass. It's very easy to set up and play.
Even at a low volume, the sound is exceptional.
Only drawback... you cannot control the speakers without the remote control.

  • Excellent Value!

I purchased this system to provide sound for my kid's room. Cost only slighly more than the $30 charger that I would have had to buy for my iPod Nano, and I get a charger base station along with two very nice sounding speakers. Very small footprint, so fits anywhere, and the sound is great. Truly remarkable for the price. Having a remote for the system is an additional nice perk. I would highly recommend this system for someone looking for small, inexpensive external speakers / charger for their iPod.

  • I Was Really Surprised
    By A3M7SBMT8F25YS on 2007-03-25
I was looking for months for a small speaker system for my ipod that I could move from room to room. I listened to several speaker systems that were at least triple to quadruple the price but none all the features I wanted - small footprint, ease of use, adjustability of volume and sound (treble, bass and mid-range) and a remote. I saw this on Amazon and after reading the reviews, I decided to get it. When I got it, I found it very easy to set up, easy to use and easy to adjust the sound and volume to my liking. The sound is the most surprising part especially for its size. At low volumes and settings, it can sound a little tinny but at mid to higher volumes and settings, it's a nice substitute for my stereo. It's really a very good value.

  • It started out fine
    By A2G3ADOL52ZZXK on 2007-03-27
This was a great little system - compact, great sound, easy to use. Then, one day, without warning, it just stopped working. I tried a number of things including changing the remote battery, but to no avail. I really need something I can rely on to work for more than 6 months.

  • Great!

I ordered these because I needed something small for my dorm room. They just came today, and they are the perfect size, just what I needed. Plus they look great too. So far they sound great. We'll see how they sound after I've had them for awhile and whether they stand up.

  • Very nice!
    By A6SO1CY6VID67 on 2007-05-15
The only reason this didn't get five stars is that the wires that connect the base to the speakers aren't very long (two feet each, at most) and they can't be set very far apart. Other than the fact that I was hoping to put them on opposite sides of my mid-size kitchen, and I can't, this thing is great.

The only other drawback is that you can't navigate the iPod menus from the remote. If you want to change playlists or artists, then you have to do it fromt he iPod itself. But it's really a great little player. Despite the speaker location, it fills the room with sound and doesn't sound the least bit tinny to me.

  • Maybe I got a lemon
    By A2LWRFC59V63S0 on 2007-06-26
I bought this after reading the mostly good reviews and have decided that I must have gotten a lemon. This system had HORRIBLE sound! If I had bought the CTA speakers that were under $10 I would have expected them to sound scratchy and tinny. This system is not worth the $$$.
