"Sure a little bit of heaven.." By AL5IBRIWFYDS8 on 2006-01-14
Throw away your Enya CD's! (No offense Enya) Buy 2 of these because you will wear the first one out listening to such a beautiful voice. All of heaven poured sweet music in the heart of this lovely lady. Song's like "The Deer's Cry" will have more than the deer crying. My all time favorite David Downes tune of "Send Me a Song" can not be sung by anyone but Lisa Kelly. Buy the CD for home and one for your car! Listen to Lisa and feel the stress of the day flow from you.
Simply breathtaking and inspiring By A3HJSPVQNTJB3H on 2006-06-26
Such amazing talent! I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard Lisa Kelly's solo album. Having watched the Celtic Woman DVD, I was impressed with all of them, but Lisa Kelly and Meav definitely stood out. On top of a very solid voice, I like the way she interprets all these songs with passion. The highs and lows are both sung with equal intensity. Although you may have heard some of these songs sung by other artists ("May It Be", "Now We Are Free", "Carrickfergus" come to mind), you will definitely want to listen to them again sung by Lisa.
This is a great example of someone who has a lot of substance and talent, but not necessarily looking for excessive fame. It's great when you can listen to every song on an album and appreciate it for the musical content!
This Girl Can Sing By A1J7045L5Z6P3R on 2006-01-11
How often have you heard that phrase? A year or two later you can never remember the name. Here's one you will never be able to get off your mind. Or out of your heart for that matter. Lisa can have that effect on you. Lisa is one of the singers from the highly successful Celtic Woman. A lot of you have already heard that very talented group of performers. For the rest of us, it will only be a matter of time.
How refreshing it is to experience a woman's voice that can really move you. From her heart to yours is probably a better description. Lisa hails from Ireland. That mystical place we all love. How she captures that wonderment in her voice we will never know.
It may have something to do with her years of training as a vocalist. Well, that and a God given ability that is bestowed on only a few. This is her first album to hit our shores. We can only hope for many more. You don't buy a CD like this if you are only a casual listener. She grabs your attention and more. What a journey she gives you. You just have to listen. In fact that's what I'm doing this very moment. Just can't get her off my mind.
Yes this girl can sing. And I like that name, Lisa. So easy to remember.
An outstanding vocalist By A39CYQVU20TZ1E on 2006-03-28
Last week I purchasd the CD Celtic Woman. Little did I know that a whole new world of music, and female vocalists would be opened up to me. I had no idea what would be on the CD. I just knew it would be Celtic music. I saw that there were 4 outstanding vocalists on the CD and was intrigued by all of them. Lisa to me is hands down, the finest vocalist of the four
Her voice has a clarity and a beauty that in my mind sets her apart, that is saying alot, because the others are outstanding as well. I have to say Meav has a beautiful first soprano voice that is among the prettiest I have ever heard. Lisa sings with more of a Celtic accent, and that alone draws me to her music. Since I bought Celtic Woman I have not played anything else. The Music has a beauty that will haunt you.
It took a few listens for the music to grow on me. I purchased the DVD of their PBS performance in Dublin and the music simply will not let me go. Be prepared to be drawn to this music.
This CD has several songs from the Celtic Woman DVD/CD, and it should because they are her best songs. Cerrickfergus is another song that will intrigue you.
Included are Siuil A Run, which is pure Celtic music at its best. Siuil A Run is also sung on the solo CD by Orla, and her version is outstanding as well.
The Soft Goodbye, Dubhdarra, Send me a Song and, May it Be which is performed by Enya, from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. I prefer Lisa's version over Enyas. She also does songs from Riverdance, and a song from Gladiator as well. I have been listening to nothing but Celtic music for over a week now and I cannot get enough.
Lisa as I listen to her more and more, the more I like her, you will not be sorry you bought this one, I promise...
Wonderful! By A1CDZM5YMB61PD on 2007-07-06
Celtic Woman is a musical ensemble comprised of five Irish and one New Zealander female artists - five vocalists (including Lisa Kelly), and one violinist. This wonderful album is a collection of 11 tracks, all the work of the incomparable Lisa Kelly. Lisa was born into a musical family, and is well known for her singing of classical and Celtic songs - she spent five years as the lead female vocal for Riverdance! I must say, this album shows off her ability to its best.
I like having nice music to listen to at work, and this album is one of my favorites. While working, I love the angelic sound of Lisa's voice sweeping out of my speakers. Overall, I found this to be a great album, one that is always wonderful to listen to. I give it my highest recommendations!
- Amazing!
     By A246WZ0NOXXJRR on 2006-03-31
I got this CD after watching the PBS Celtic Woman special and loved when Lisa Kelly sang "May It Be" on there. She has an amazing voice, so pure and enjoyable. My favorite tracks on her album are "May It Be" (possibly better than Enya's version), "A Deer's Cry", and "Now We Are Free", which is pure musical beauty. You can not go wrong with this artist, she is wonderful!
- Fantastic - one of the best Celtic Woman CD's
     By A2YFGWOCI0N18V on 2006-08-09
Lisa's voice is incredible - very powerful. If you loved Celtic Woman (as seen on PBS), you will love this CD! Every song is beautiful.
- It's not studio wizardry, she really is this good
     By AYR75KDQPWM8S on 2006-08-29
This CD is an excellent showcase of Lisa Kelly's virtuosity on a well thought-out selection of songs.
I've seen the Celtic Woman tour performance twice (2005 & 2006) in a small outdoor venue (Humphrey's on San Diego's Shelter Island). On a small stage, David Downes uses a small instrumental ensemble and a pared-down chorus, compared to the Dublin concert on the Celtic Woman DVD. If anything, Lisa's voice sounds even better in this setting, with the audience literally in her face. When she soloed on Enya's "May It Be" even the sea birds stopped to listen, and I could see the Last Ship departing the Gray Havens for the Undying Lands.
Like the best of the Broadway and West End singers, Lisa's interpretation is theatrical without being melodramatic. Of the four Celtic Woman vocalists, her soprano is not the purest, but it has the greatest range of emotion. With all due respect to Sarah Brightman, I'd rather listed to Lisa Kelly any day.

I first heard the Celtic Women group on my PBS channel and immediatly became mesmerized at the clarity and emotion of their voices. I was disappointed for the longest time because while I had the Celtic Woman CD and DVD, there was no US distributer for the individual artists CDs. Thanks to my contacting and several other people pushing, Celtic Collections finally released these CDs to the US market. Lisa always has been my favorite of the ladies. I had the pleasure of seeing Celtic Woman live and it is an experience I will never forget...
The best song on this CD, the Soft Goodbye is sung with such emotion it brings tears to your eyes.
For those who are concerned with repeat songs from the Celtic Woman collaborative album, the repeated songs on all the individual artists discs are different recordings and vary from the CW disc. So definatly worth the buy...especially when you cannot get enough like me!
I also strongly recommend Chloe Agnews: Walking on the Air
- Terrific Singer
     By A2SANGVBMJQZJL on 2006-08-10
Lisa has an amazing voice. If you enjoyed Celtic Women, you would likely enjoy this. Some of the songs are rehashed from prior recordings, but that doesn't detract from the quality. "May it Be" is worth buying the CD.
- What a Voice!
     By A3R8TUAK2K6O8T on 2006-02-25
I have a pretty good ear for music, and can always tell if a person is out of tune, and I can tell you that this woman never even comes close to being out of tune. She has the purest voice I think I have even heard, and is a stand-out even amoung the stellar performances that were on the "Celtic Woman" CD. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who truly appreciates a beautiful voice.

- The better angels
     By A23KAGUO5T7VAX on 2006-03-09
I first encountered the lovely Lisa Kelly on the Celtic Woman DVD and immediately fell in love with this genre of music. I heard Celtic music before but never of this quality. Lisa and the other singers of Celtic Woman sing with an increadable intensity and honesty. They are doing this because they love this music. Too often I get the impression that performers are just going through the motions and don't really care about their music. Its just to make a buck. Not with Lisa and Celrtic Woman. Its also rare to find a cd where you love each song. I feel inspired and uplifted by Lisa's work. Its like enjoying a good glass of vintage wine or a sunset over the beach. Thank you Lisa. Celtic music appeals to, as Honest Abe Lincoln once put it, to the better angels of our nature. If more people woulkd listen to this music there'd be less strfe in the world.
- Lisa Rocks!

I bought this CD as a gift and had to have one for myself. Lisa's voice is Amazing! She not only sings in an upper register, which is beautiful, but her lower register is wonderful! One particular song on the CD, The Deer's Cry, is worth the purchase!! I love it!

I would have to say that Lisa Kelly has the purest voice I think I have ever heard, and is a stand-out even amoung the stellar performance that was recorded on the "Celtic Woman" CD. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who truly appreciates a beautiful voice.
I had heard Celtic music before but immediately fell in love with this genre of music after listening to Lisa and the other "Celtic Woman" performers, just absolutely amazing. You definately need to get one for the home entertainment system and one to put in your car as you will never want to be far from the calming, soothing, inspiring music of this talented genius.
- Beautiful Voice Won't Disappoint You !
     By A2698KJXW6EG76 on 2006-03-27
Lisa Kelly comes through with splendor in this CD; superb vocals, wonderful song selections, and high quality recordings. As part of the Celtic Woman "team", she stands out as a leader and as a traditionalist among Celtic musicians. This CD will help relax your stressful day, capture your interest, and take you on a journey directly to Ireland...at an incredibly reasonable price.

- Voice of an angel...
     By A2DMKN20UCDUKA on 2007-01-09
or at least how I imagine it to be. I listened to Celtic Woman and thought she had the best voice. The only thing I was not so crazy about on this CD was the amount of Celtic songs vs English ones. But I still love to listen to her sing. If you like Enya then Lisa is better, but then that's only my opinion. Try it out for yourself.

- A Must - Have Album
     By AGVRYCSYORRRQ on 2006-07-17
If you don't already have this album, then buy it immediately. If you can't afford it then get rid of your car, sell your first born into slavery, whatever it takes. I actually have the Irish version of this album that I ordered thru Lisa Kelly's website before amazon.com carried it, but it appears to be the same album, just different artwork. One of the best albums I've ever bought.
- A spotlight on beauty
     By A2PMDVMNE29VUR on 2006-12-16
I first heard of Lisa through her affiliation and performances with Celtic Woman and found myself entranced by her voice and her beauty. Along with the 4 other performers on Celtic Woman, Lisa is a consummate performer and a thoroughly memorable talent.
This solo performance album has several recognizable tunes from the Celtic Woman show and a few songs I'd never heard before. Perhaps it was my love for the original album (and having seen the performance on DVD first), but I found the newer songs less captivating than the others. Lisa's vocals are still warm and bright, and the shine of her talent--and love for the music--is evident throughout the CD.
Fans of Celtic Woman should recognize such pieces as "Siuil A Run", "May It Be", and Lisa's hallmark, "Send Me A Song." Her vocals are thoroughly captivating. There are a couple tracks where her voice nearly gets lost in the choral background, and "The Deer's Cry," while lyrically inspiring, is not as engaging than the other tracks.
Overall, if you consider yourself a fan of Celtic Woman, you really can't go wrong with this album. This solo focus is a solid album in its own right which allows her individual gifts to shine.
