Short Slim Jims

I've noticed that the shorter Slim Jims taste different and better than the longer Slim Jims. I prefer these.
There were 87, NOT 100

Okay, yes, they are good. However, when my package arrived, the box had been opened and didn't look full. So, I counted them. There were 87, not 100. (and there were none loose in the box among the other items.) I guess the "box packer" got hungry and decided to eat a few. not cool.
Follow up: Amazon was great about my complaint about the number! They sent a new box right away. thanks! and I would order again.
Ate Them As A Kid! Still Good!

When I was a kid I ate slim jims all the time.
I am glad that they still taste the same.
Unfortunately, nowadays they like to change and mess with too many of the things that we grew up with and loved as children.
Here's what I used to do (and still do): I get the end real wet until the skin gets to the point that you can slough it off without breaking it. I eat the skin and then I slowly chomp the stick until it's all gone. Then I grab another and do it all over again!
And I don't care how many of these you'll try to eat in a week -- a box of 100 is guaranteed to last a long time! This is a good buy!
I recommend the good ol' slim jim!

I LOVE SLIM JIMS. THEY TASTE GREAT AND THEY ARE GREAT FOR SNACKS. AND THEY ARE SMALL SO IT IS EASY TO CARY THEM AROUND IF YOU WANT TO EAT THEM IN A CAR,IN A PLANE,ON A BUS OR ANYWHERE ON THE GO. THE TASTE OF SLIM JIMS IS A MIX OF PEPPORNI AND AND BEFF JERKY BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE. THIS IS A GREAT SNACK AND YOU SHOULD GET THEM.
How the heck do you chew Slim Jims?

Slim Jims may taste ok but that's because they are so greasy. That's what helps the flavor. I can't figure out why anyone would like these as I can't seem to chew them to a point where I feel comfortable to swallow. It's like eating a really really tough piece of gristle meat. The amount of fat, cholesterol etc is also higher than beef jerky. I'd rather eat beef jerky than this stuff. At least I can chew the beef jerky.

I agree with the person who said it's hard to chew and here is why.
Disect your slim jim length ways...there, do you see the hair?
It is (allegedly) all made of cow hair...gross! That is the beef part I guess.
Trans-fat (partially hydrogenated veg oil) and some really long word chemicals to make "mechanically separated" beef and chicken what looks like hair taste "good"? no thanks, glad I did not buy 100!
My dog really likes it but then again she eats other dog's p..p

I bought these as the price was right and I thought the kids would like them. Kids think they are to spicy, I think they are outright terrible. TI will probably end up feeding these to my dogs. They will eat anything. Would not recommend these to anyone.

This is the second time I've bought these for my dog. Although they are not dog treats, my dog loves them. She is very special to me, so I get her the best. This is a great price for these slim jims. If I buy them in the store I pay alot more for them. I've tried them also & their very good. They come individually wrapped in a nice box that opens from the bottom so you can get one or more out at a time. Just like the ones they sell in the stores. If you buy them one at a time at .25C a piece you pay $25.00 dollars for them. I think this is a great value!!

These individually wrapped Slim Jims make great snacks for hungry kids. Toss a few in your purse and you have a portable, filling treat while you're out with the kids. My kids love them and ask for them over fruit snacks or candy.

These Slim Jim Original, 100-Count Box are great. They taste great and kids love them. They love them so much they will eat the entire box if left unguarded.

Not a bad snack. The kids love them. Great for camping and school...but has the formula changed? THey are pretty greasy! Fatty. salty? Hm...

Back about 30 years ago, Slim Jim made some DAMN fine beef sticks. They were probably the best that I can recall ever having since.
Todays greasy orange Slim Jim is TOTAL GARBAGE, in comparison to what it used to be a few decades ago. I don't know when their recipe changed, but I think it was around 25 years ago.
Those of you that think Slim Jims are good now would be shocked and disgusted if you were able to try the old recipe Slim Jim beef sticks. (which sadly are no longer made)

While on the computer, in your car, at work or just want a tasty snack, Slim Jim is the perfect treat! Not big enough to ruin an appetite for meals, it is just the right size to curb hunger...and tastes great! There is a reason that Slim Jim doesn't ever quite say what it is. It isn't a beef stick. It isn't jerky. It is what it is. I remember eating them when they first came out and wondering what they were. Now, tasting them again, I remember the question. There is some kind of meat in there, but it is treated in a lot of different ways. A Slim Jim is still as greasy as I remember, as well. The trick is to enjoy them without eating them to excess. For what they are, they are convenient, tasty, and can be fun.

After the popularity of the Slim Jim waned in the years following revelations that the alleged "macho" of its celebrity endorser was merely spray-on tan, we endured a series of tasteless and unsnappable tinkerings to the original recipe.
Sadly, by the early days of this century, the original recipie had been lost. Even a team of scientists hired to reconstruct the glory of Slim Jims past failed in their efforts. We feared we would never see the likes of the "skinny james" of our youth.
Happily, a warehouse cellar of the original was located near Hoboken, NJ. How the store had gone missing more than 30 years ago is not known. But, like fine wine, these Slim Jims have only improved with age. Get yours before they're gone!

For the price, it makes great training rewards for my dogs. They seem to enjoy it and I indulge in it sometimes. But this is the last time I'm buying this.

Well, the 1 star reviews are from people who never liked Slim Jims and would never like Slim Jims so why they buy a whole package instead of spending a quarter for one at a gas station I'll never know... regardless, these are good and tasty. Greasy? Yes. Bad for you? Of course. But you shouldn't expect anything but a fatty treat. For some reason they seem tougher then they were a few years back when I had them last. Not something I would eat daily, but a "good" treat if you like them. With the sales lately amazon has had on them, the price is right as well.

I had eaten Slim Jim's for years. After a decade of abstinence from this delicious treat I decided to order these and they still taste great. Since so many talked about the count of Slim Jim's, I actually counted them. The box I counted had 108 with 3 of these just being sealed empty packaging. I will buy these again.

Great price for the 100 count box. Each wrapped individually and the same size as usual. But I found that they were very greasy! No really what I want in a beef jerky. But they did taste good.

Not very fresh....Experation date less than 2 months?
The experation is on each individual SlimJim so you can't check that until you open the box.
Each individual seemed different from the other. Some were tough and hard to chew and some were ok.
I'll probably buy at the store from now on.

Slim Jims have been around for what seems forever. If you are the type of person who is obsessed with what you eat,why even buy these and then complain? What did you expect,tofu?
However, if you like a decadent snack occasionally, by all means get these.
They are greasy, chewy and go great with beer. They are what they are, with no apologies.

I was surprised how small these slim jim sticks were but that worked out okay. They are not the healthiest snack so eating it in small doses is good! They are easy to store in the dispensable box and I won't run out any time soon, making my son a very happy boy. Great purchase!
