BabyBjörn Baby Sitter 1-2-3 Black Ginghamx
    (56 reviews)
Best Price: $99.95
Parents looking for a premier bouncer need look no further than the Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter. It is one of the most exquisite versions of bouncer on the market. The Baby Bjorn Babysitter has all of the features which parents look for in a top of the line baby bouncer. It is for children to 2 years and up to 29 lbs. The Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter helps transform the child's smallest movements into soothing rocking movements. The Baby Sitter 1 2 3 adapts as the child moves to help sooth. Another standout feature of the Baby Sitter 1-2-3 is the anti-skid pads. They are safe for household use and assure the parent that no damage can be done. When the child becomes big enough to climb out of the Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter, the restraints may be removed. It is one of the most compact chairs when folded and allows for parents to store the Baby Bjorn sitter with toy anywhere they please. Rock-a-bye Baby Bjorn…From the first name in front carriers for babies comes a handsome bouncy seat that any parent would be proud to position in the living room among the leather sofas and sleek coffee tables. But don’t be fooled. This seat is far, far more than a fashion accessory for image-conscious parents. | The bouncy seat is one of the most important and useful pieces of baby gear most families will have in their homes. It would be lovely if we could all sit around with our babes in arms all day, every day; alas, dishes, laundry, dinner, and older children call. Bouncy seats allow the youngest members of the family to enjoy the chaos swirling around them from the comfort and peace of their own personal recliner. And in a pleasantly pared-down departure from the jingly-jangly, swishy-splashy seats that confront parents shopping for a basic bouncy seat, the only bell or whistle on the Baby Sitter 1-2-3 is a toy bar with three solid wood teddy bear shapes. No cutesy faces, no fancy textures or fabrics, no I.Q.-enhancing games and sound effects. No batteries. This bouncy seat simply, well, bounces. The slightest movement causes a relaxing bounce--no on/off buttons or six degrees of vibration, just baby’s natural wiggling. Depending on your tot’s mood and wakefulness, the seat can be adjusted to three different positions for sleeping, resting, and playing. The deep recline is terrific for daytime snoozes, while the most upright position will be especially handy when baby gets a little older and is ready for more interaction with the world. The seat can be adjusted to three different positions for sleeping, resting, and playing.
| The attractive black fabric of the seat cover is reversible, from flat black to flat black with a diagonal pattern of a million faint gray "Baby Bjorn"s. Either way, the look is subtle, sophisticated, and unforgiving of yogurt or rice cereal stains…Luckily, it’s easily machine washable (drip dry). Come to think of it, in this day and age, any piece of baby gear that is not machine washable needs to go straight to the museum of ancient artifacts, for crying out loud. The restraint system buttons (yes, buttons!) securely at three points, and is removable to wash, reverse patterns, or keep off entirely once baby is able to walk or to climb in and out of the seat herself. That’s right, you read that correctly! No need to scold your toddler for trying to get into baby’s seat; this bouncy seat is suitable for 8-pound newborns as well as kids up to 24 months (or a maximum of 29 pounds). Just be sure to remove and stow that restraint system. Another good safety feature is the non-skid base, as well as the reminder never to place the inhabited seat on a table or other elevated surfaces. Unlike the two- or three-month life spans of so many toys and equipment for children, this is one baby item that will truly grow with your little angel, up to two years! Even if it costs a bit more than some, make sure you’re measuring that price against the number of months of use; most bouncy seats are workable up until around seven months or so, in spite of the actual age/weight range listed. This will serve as a cool seat for an eighteen-month-old, as well as a cozy bouncy for an infant. Collapsible to a width of about four inches, the Baby Sitter 1-2-3 will easily accompany families to Grandma’s house, restaurants, tropical resorts… The Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter 1-2-3 is the proud and deserving recipient of the Practical Parenting Best Buy award as well as best in test in Swedish parenting magazine. Elegantly simple, the minimalist design is so appealing for parents already weary of the jarringly bright colors and tinny sounds of so many bouncy seats (and other baby paraphernalia). Plus it’s great for photo ops – no distracting background! --Emilie Coulter

Sturdy, entertaining and very light! By A586T28UGPQ2C on 2006-11-23
I have gone through two bouncy seats among my three small boys. When I saw this one, I thought it seemed expensive but rationalized that it could be used as the baby gets older. From the first minute my baby sat in it, he loved it. He is upright and likes to play with the little wooden bears. I found that the other bouncy seats (Fisher Price) quickly bent back and my son was more flat than upright. This is a high quality product that is extremely light weight. Can carry it easiy while my son is in my arms. Definely worth the price!!
Simple high quality design, worth the extra $$ By A28VPKZ5UF5UYB on 2007-06-24
This seat is a bit more expensive than most other bouncer seats but it's well worth it. The beauty of its seat is definitely its simplicity. I was looking for an alternative to all of the super bright colors, vibrating, dancing, slicing and dicing bouncers.
The pros:
- Firm, stable base and hardware unlike lots of bouncers with plastic pieces that seem a little flimsy.
- This seat reacts to even small movements of the baby so even the youngest can bounce!
- Due to the base, the bounce is even and not shaky or erratic at all.
- The seat can be used much longer than most bouncer seats.
- The seat can be adjusted to three different heights.
The cons:
- It is a little more expensive than Fisher Price and other bouncers, but again it's worth it!
- Adjusting the seat requires you to take the baby out because of the way the base snaps. There have been times when the baby's fallen asleep in it and I wanted to recline without possibility waking him.
Baby Bjorn does it again! By A3U4GW06XNSI2Q on 2007-03-02
I initially bought this seat when we brought our adopted daughter home from China. She was very weak and could not hold herself up. This sitter was just what she needed!! She learned muscle control and taught herself how to rock in this seat and was quickly sitting up on her own. She loved it!! When our newest daughter was born, I brought out the Bjorn and we used it from when she was a newborn and is still using it at 5 months old. She loves to sit in it, very comfortable, and she also LOVES the toy bar. It's a great investment and it wears very well (after all of this use, it still looks brand new).
Great basic chair By A1EZN8BLC9NOZB on 2007-05-13
In this day and age of electronic gizmos everywhere you turn, the Bjorn chair is a refreshing breath of basic. The chair is very stable and easy to clean. I've been putting my daugther in it since she was two weeks old. At 10 weeks she has discovered the wooden bears and balls. The chair has been a lifesaver during dinner and for that badly needed shower.
Fabulous! Well Worth the Price By A3ERL2P9KB4F5A on 2007-10-24
We originally had the Combi Rocker and started noticing that our baby hated being in it and wanted to sit up more. Can't say enough fabulous things about this bouncy seat. Our 3 month old baby loves it. She loves sitting up more and will sit for a long time in it while I work in the kitchen. She loves playing with the toy bar and I love not having to strap her in. Our previous one had a 5 point harness and she hated being strapped into it. This restraint is perfect because you can slip them in and out. It also is so easy to transport and washes up nicely. I am now recommending this product to all of my friends.
- I thought the baby would like it more ...
     By A3SKCR1QCF42SG on 2008-09-07
The baby enjoyed sitting up in the corner of the sofa, so we thought he'd enjoy this infant seat. But he doesn't. He'll sit in it about ten maybe fifteen (tops) minutes maybe before he wants to get out, and he always looks unhappy when he's in it. We bought it when he was already three months old and 15+ pounds so we could no longer use the "nap" position, which left only "playing" and "resting" (we didn't know the "napping" position only went until 15 pounds until we got it). He was not a baby who ever liked to be rocked, and doesn't seem fond of the bouncing. In fact, he's a really active baby and when he gets fidgety and wants to get out, it starts to bounce and I think it confuses him. The quality and design are great. I wonder if he would have liked it more if we'd got him into it earlier ....
- Best baby seat on the market.
     By ASYQFDFXVDW4R on 2007-04-03
We wish we'd had this bouncy seat from day one! Baby Bjorn has made a superior product that we've recommended many times to everyone we know. The 3 positions make is so versatile, he can sleep, watch a video, bounce just for the fun of it, and now that he's sitting up, he can sit up in his Bjorn just like in a chair. And at 6+ months, he still loves the wooden bears. We've used this more than any other baby gear product and consider it our best purchase. Well worth the extra $$.
- Best baby shower gift!
     By A2YRCV0DV6KR4T on 2007-04-22
We use this almost every day. It's great for our baby to sit in and watch the world around her. We have used it since birth. At first she was not interested in the bears, but you can easily remove that bar to make it easier to get them in and out. Now she is 4 months and loves to play with the bears. The seat folds up very easily and is very compact - we can even slide it under the couch.
- Great for sleep, play and storage
     By A2TTHIKRKQJSM6 on 2007-05-19
This is an incredible product. My 5-month old loves to sleep in it and I love that it folds completely flat for easy storage. It's very light in weight, so it's easy to take along. I highly recommend spending the extra $ because it's worth it. I am a fan of most of the Baby Bjorn products.
- Effective simplicity
     By A2Z92ACJOCMO1F on 2007-07-31
You get what you pay for. This is certainly a more expensive bouncer, but it is well worth it. No cheap plastic, instead well constructed with easily removable fabric. No crazy vibrating or wiggly motion, instead relaxing bouncing according to your baby's mood. No batteries, instead smart engineering. No rainbow-colored fabrics that scream "kid's room", instead a choice of fabrics that will fit into your living area. - I'm betting your baby has no preference for the fabric anyway because they won't be able to see it unless they are on their tummies - which is not possible.
My baby has taken naps in it on the lowest recline and has happily played with the wooden bears on the (removable) toy bar. I'm currently using it with baby No.2 and the bouncer still looks fantastic. This is one piece of baby equipment I would buy again without thinking twice.
- More than I had hoped for!
     By A102OC1246RS1E on 2007-08-04
The others have said it well - this is a lightweight, well-designed and sturdy bouncer. My baby loves it and I am pretty sure will continue to love it going forward.
- Finally! A place to sit!
     By A1GKPOTV2OZFN1 on 2007-09-11
Our baby loves to kick on the changing table, but she has reflux and kicking flat generates a lot of spitup, plus it doesn't allow us much freedom. She's not a big fan of her car seat, and despite being now 10 lbs and 24 inches, she's still a bit small to enjoy her Fisher Price vibrating chair/rocker--it reclines too much, and is a bit wide, so she slumps. We've been at a loss for someplace to rest her other than our arms during waking hours. This chair is a lifesaver! It seems to fit better than the cheaper chairs, plus, as others note, it is elegant and attractive. The bouncing is gentle and natural, spurred by baby's own movements (though you can gently rock baby to sleep, too). The different angles make it versatile. We're thrilled--and wish we had it from the very first week! Worth the money, for us at least.
- Life Saver!
     By ALG2UBOQSUUUY on 2007-09-13
My son prefers to be held all day so it was such a relief when he took to this bouncer, giving me a chance to get some things done. It looks great and we love that it folds up completely for travel. The bouncing action is perfect for him. It's a great place to put him to sleep during the day because the bouncing action will put him back to sleep if he startles himself awake. He's not yet discovered the toys but they are nicely handsome and simple. The colors are wonderful and I love that it is reversible and washable. I absolutely recommend this product. So much better than all the other froofroo bouncers out there.
- EVERYTHING I WANTED!

Folds flat, easy to wash, basic toy bar, no batteries needed, my baby loves it :) I'm a happy mommy!
- Best product you can buy for a baby
     By A3BITV5AUAH9O8 on 2007-11-25
Of all the paraphernelia you buy for a baby, this has to be one of the best. I bought it before our son was born and from day one he has used his bouncey seat. Sometimes it was all that would calm him when he was tired and I could easily rock him to sleep with my foot tapping the base of the chair. At about 3 1/2 months old he learnt to bounce himself in the seat and really loves it. Now he is 5 months I feed him solids in the seat, it is so easy. The bouncy goes everywhere with us, it is compact, easy to fold down and to adjust the different levels. Best thing money can buy. After seeing ours, all my friends have gone and bought one!
- Great In Theory, Not In Practice
     By A30772KEJ6VZWS on 2008-01-08
I REALLY wanted to like this bouncer. I had wanted to try it for a couple months and finally had enough money at Xmas to buy it for our 3 month old baby. The reviews were great and it seemed like the perfect solution. I bought it so the baby could watch tv along side me or look at the computer while I'm on, to go to the kitchen to cook, or to the bathroom for a quick shower. However, when it arrived, it didn't quite meet my expectations.
First of all, the seat looks really deep, but it isn't as deep as I would have liked. The problem, if I can correctly describe this, is that the top seam is quite a bit higher than the bottom seam, right before it tips over to the rounded part of the base where the baby's legs rest and bounce from. The result is that the seat tips forward and our baby slides down when she bounces and bulges out of the restraint. If the bottom ledge dipped at a more downward angle, the baby's bottom would sit deeper and more securely in the seat but still be able to bounce.
I also do not like the restraint system. While it is easier to remove and clean because of the buttons, I would feel more reassured by the seatbelt snap restraints that most other bouncers have. Just as she bulges out of the bottom when she jumps, she also slides down to a position where her hands rest on the top border of the restraint, so that she is pulling down on the fabric in order to reach the toys. I'm scared she will get strong enough to rip the fabric from the seams.
A third issue is the lack of neck and head support. At 3 months, our baby is getting better, but isn't quite ready to stay upright without guidance. She fell asleep in it a couple times and her chin was on her chest with her head flopped to the side. It was very NOT cool with me, so I have to wake her up to take her out and lay her down. Our baby is still a bit slumped, and when my husband sneezed the other day she was startled and jumped very suddenly. There were immediate wails and we figured the baby just got scared, but she took longer to recover than usual, and I wonder if her neck torqued when she bounced up. Baby seems okay, but still nervous having her bouncing in it.
Lastly, simplicity is nice, but I would prefer more stimulating features. It doesn't necessarily need vibrate, but music would be nice since she really likes it. The baby does however like spinning the toy bears and seems drawn to the colors. She looks at the yellow bear while holding the red and I spin the middle blue. I do like the sitter because of the overall look and design, and the 3 different positions. It allows baby to see much better, and the sitter is a lot lighter and portable than other products. My husband seems to really like this sitter, but wishes I hadn't spend that much for it, considering our baby likes the $30 Bright Starts bouncer with music and vibration just as much. My husband decided it's worth keeping, and hopefully it will work better as she gets older. Not sure how long the fabric will hold from the friction of her feet rubbing on it, she is wearing out all her socks and footsie pjs, lol.
- Our Number 1 baby product!
     By A1OXG5HBN1HRPP on 2007-12-02
We love this bouncer! Our little girl is 9 weeks and has loved to sit in it from day one. In fact, as I write this review, I am using my foot to rock her to sleep. It folds down almost completely flat, is lightweight and very easy to move from room to room. The cloth cover is very easy to remove and clean (machine wash, hang dry). The only gripe we have is that you can't adjust the seat when the baby is in it. Other than that, its worth every penny.
- Very nice!
     By A3AOQXR2IXDAKA on 2008-06-07
We use this chair a lot. Althoug our baby does not like to sleep in it....maybe oneday! She spends time in it while we eat. She is not crazy about the toy bar. However this chair is very comfortable and NOT MADE IN CHINA!
- A Little Larger than What I Wanted
     By AYOKOCNCEPLEC on 2007-03-23
So far the BabyBjorn Baby Sitter has been great. My little one will sit in it and bounce away contentedly as long as he is feed and changed. The only complaints I have is that is not as easy to change from one position to another as I would like and it is advertised as being small enough to fold up and travel with. While it folds down nicely for travel, I was looking for something a little smaller and more compact for greater ease of being able to carry the baby and the sitter in somewhere on my own.
- LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
     By A23Q82A97QSPKD on 2007-11-17
I tried this bouncer at a friends house and knew my baby was happy in it so I bought one. I didn't realize how happy he'd be though! And as a bonus, there's a cool twirly toy attachment that comes with it. I was thrilled when my 3 month old intuitively reached out to touch the toy...hand eye coordination...check! You won't be disappointed with this bouncer, especially at a time when other baby seats are being recalled. You will feel confident that your child is safe and happy.
- Worth the money
     By A272QNPAVXNV72 on 2007-12-17
I bought a different brand seat/bouncer to start with and wished I started with this one- it is great. Comfortable, easy to care for, easy to store and can be used by a heavy baby (like my boy- 20 lbs at 5 months).

     By A3DSASFQJR2UMP on 2008-01-01
Bought this for my new Grandson stylish durable and most of all he loved it. It rocks the baby with their soft motions. My daugther and son-in-law were pleasantly surprised as well. It also grows with the child as a seat at toddler stage.
- Best bouncer to stimulate and soothe your active baby!
     By A3SRLEXBO26YAP on 2008-03-12
Out of several bouncers I've tested in stores and bought, this is by the far the best and so worth the money. My son loves to bounce himself and it turned out to be the one bouncer he didn't protest going into. When he's tired, the seat cradles and comforts him for long naps. Besides being practical and stylish, I appreciate it's portability. You can't go wrong with this seat.
- Consider this OEM equipment
     By AUA4GK3AT8T99 on 2008-06-16
Our little girl absolutely LOVES this seat. When she was newborn, it wasn't useful but now that she is getting a bit older (2 months old) she is really growing into it.
The folding and storage is unparalleled as the seat folds neatly flat so we can store it right in the living room easily out of sight. It is a bit difficult to switch from the folded position to or between any of the three seating positions and usually requires two hands.
We can place our daughter in the seat and very easily bounce her with one foot resting against the bottom fabric. Of course, she can bounce herself too but as this is one of her favorite napping spots at the moment she isn't inclined to put forth the effort to move!
I know the price looks steep on this one, but we've found it to be a simple design that just works. The high price is what holds back the fifth star.
- Just as described
     By AG5A41RDDANV8 on 2008-08-04
Got this a few weeks ago for my then 4 week old. Had previously bought and returned an Eddie Bauer seat - which was terrible. All others seem to just lay back to far. My little one wants to sit up when not sleeping. The different positions in this are great and I know she'll be able to use this seat for awhile. Worth the extra $ in my opinion. Like the basic idea. Music, etc seems too stimulating for little ones. She just sits and takes in her surroundings.
- A great "no bells or whistles" bouncer
     By A2XD2OPRJ4GSRJ on 2008-08-12
This bouncer does what it says it will...it bounces. No extra vibrations, no psychedelic colors, no silly cartoon characters. My little guy has been comfortable in it since he was a week old.
The company sent the wrong color, but very good customer service. They offered to send out the black right away. The navy that I received is so dark, I had a hard time determining if it was the wrong color.

We ordered this after trying out a friend's. Our little boy loves it, and I love how easy it is to store. We have so many baby things all over the house, it's nice to have one that folds up and can go anywhere so easily. I also like that it's not at all complicated - there aren't a ton of toys hanging over his face, and it's simple to use. Quality is great too. Would def. recommend!!
- Love it! Even for 6lb newborn!
     By A1IKQ9SVHQDVXI on 2008-09-10
At first we thought the waist belt was too big and covered our newborn daughter's face, but we just twisted it a few times before fastening it, and it's perfect. She loves it and has loved it since getting home from the hospital. Even gentle hiccuping is enough to make it gently rock on its own. I'm not sure why it is as expensive as it it, but my husband and I agree, it's already been worth the money, and our daughter is only 3 weeks old!! Its light weight, easily portable, and it's not unsightly like many other bouncy seats!! I HIGHLY recommend this!!
- Practical, Useful, Stylish, Compact - No Batteries Needed!
     By A3FG0C4PZQGQAK on 2008-11-20
I wish I would have bought this sooner and saved myself some money! My 4 month old baby loves to play with the little bears on this for at least 10 minutes (a long time in newborn land) which gives me a chance to take a shower - hurrah! Much prettier and more stylish than any of the other bouncers and swings out there which I tried. None were successful in entertaining my baby. This collapses flat and is made from very comfy stretch cotton. Best part is the baby does all the rocking - No batteries needed!
I see that BabyBjorn has come out with a nearly identical product for twice the price - hmmm...don't fall for it! Get this one!!
- Teriffic addition
     By AXY50EN91MDJK on 2007-12-20
Using with our first child who is two months old. She liked it right away and takes naps in it and sits in it while we have dinner. Simple, elegant design. Expensive, but worth it.
