excellent product By A3P1FPDSASXYHD on 2006-02-17
This case fits the nano perfectly and has openings for all the ports and switches. It's easy to slip on and adds very little bulk. The silicon is quite smooth and not as tacky as others. It's easy to slip into a pocket yet still resists sliding on a smooth surface.
It isn't mentioned in the ad but it does come with a screen protector. It's tucked away in the packaging and would be easy to discard, as I almost did. It too is very good quality, it was easy to install and lays flat without any bubbles. I put it on crooked initially, but it was easy to remove and put it on correctly. There aren't any real instructions but it has tabs that are clearly labeled and they should keep it from being installed inside out.
Bottom line: The quality and design of this case complements the quality and design of the Nano very well.
Perfect -- all accessories should work this well By A2Q8WW6PQ9HUQ1 on 2006-08-21
This thing simply does what it's supposed to do and what it claims to do (which, alas, is so much more than can be said for so many gadget add-ons). Perfect fit on the Nano, as others have pointed out, they even include the little screen protector strip which adds protection where it really counts. Buttons and ports are easily accessible, the strap is comfy to wear and easy to get on.
And best of all, of course, the price is exactly right. Apple really should just include something like this with the Nano to begin with -- but at least Belkin's offering is of a design and quality to match what it's made to enclose.
Great Value By AMS2CPERWN7JV on 2006-12-15
This is just a plain barebones case. It has a silicone casing that goes around the ipod, and then the strap goes through the back of it (note there isn't really an attachment to put the strap through, it's cut outs in the case itself, so the strap is touching the back of the ipod). You can also just use the case without the strap.
It seems to work pretty well, the strap fits well and doesn't bind up or seem to tight, so it has the right amount of strechiness in it. The one thing that seems to be lacking, is the silicone case does not have anything that protects the screen or click wheel. This is fine for me, but those wanting to use it as a standalone case and throw it in their bag/purse might want to look at something else.
It's an all around simple case and strap that seem well built, it also happens to be under half the price of any other cases out there.
(Nike + iPod users:) The whole bottom is open, including the headphone jack and dock connector. This means the Nike + iPod kit fits right in.
Update: Apparently according to other reviews it actually comes with a screen protector, however I must have thrown it away with the packaging, so watch out for that.
not exactly match fit for the gen 2 nano By ARRRJSP53PV7Y on 2006-11-16
This thing was slipping and sliding all over the place and I constantly had to readjust in so the functions were in place. The slot on the top that is supposed to allow you to use the "hold" feature is completely off so you end up having to stretch the thing over to turn it on and off. The little plastic protector that covers the screen would not stay in place over the screen and I was constantly losing it between the silicon cover and the ipod. I finally just gave up on it and returned it. I bought it because it is one of the only ipod accessories that has a fair price tag. I think I'll just get it over with and buy one of the more expensive options. Was this thing even meant for the Gen 2 nano?
Its great!!! By A2KSZTI0QAM92E on 2006-05-10
Its a nice sleeve for nano, fits snugly and looks better than a lot of sleeves in the market. The strap is useful when working out and you can remove the strap when you want to take it in your pocket. The screen cover is a bit tough to put on without getting the bubbles on the screen, but if you try hard you should get it on nicely. I recommend this product.
- Screen protector marred & armband too big
     By APMTZBR9BY58A on 2006-05-21
I had problems with applying the screen protector. The sticker ripped and won't come off of the protector blocking the top part of the screen. I had to remove the protector. The armband is much too large for my arm - the iPod kept sliding down my arm and I couldn't tighten it further. I tried contacting Belkin but they never replied to my e-mail. I returned it to Amazon - at my own expense of course.
- Great Inexpensive Low Profile Case
     By A15FZHZY34D9R4 on 2006-02-28
I recently purchased a Nano, and like everyone else, it was getting scratched up too quickly. This case provides a screen protector and access to all inputs/buttons and only increases the thickness of the nano by a little bit. Simple and easy to use.
- Great item at a great price
     By AHRQV8JWY0JZI on 2006-10-19
This is slim, snug and good looking protection for the Nano. I'm using with the new 2G Nano 8gb and it's much better than I expected. The tight little silicon rubber protector's staying on all the time -- it still leaves the nano mighty small, hardly any bigger in fact. This way if I drop it on a cement floor I've got a good chance of it's being unscathed. (Still not something to make a habbit of of course.) Of course my chosen Nano is black anyway -- if you want to show off blue or pink there might not be much of those colors showing through this sheath.
The arm band also works perfectly. I'm a 6'3 male with good size arms and it fits me perfectly It seems like it will adjust WAY smaller and a little bigger, which ought to accomodate the great majority.
As for bubbles appearing for some people under the optional stick on screen protector - just press down on the center first and work your finger pressure out to the edges. It's not hard guys, and it's what you need to do with all screen stick-ons. In other words that problem is "operator error", and easily avoidable with a modicum of operator knowledge.
- It slips
     By A1SY9T4FTNR4LO on 2007-02-02
I've owned this band for about a year. The nice thing about it is that it allows you to adjust volume and select songs while you are running. The problem I have with it now is that after washing the band a few times, it is less elastic, so that when I jog and I'm sweating, I can no longer tighten the band enough to keep the ipod from slipping down my arm. So, if you want a band to use while doing sports, I'd suggest you look for one that has a wider band with more elasticity.
- Not for small arms!
     By A3MSLK3O54AU1L on 2007-08-10
I am petite (112 lbs) and the arm band does not even come relatively close to fitting my arm. I would have to weigh a good 40 lbs more for this to fit. It was a complete waste of money. For most women of small to medium build this will not fit.
- NOT for 2nd Gen. Nano
     By A364BGPTDA0Q0O on 2007-03-19
This sleeve is designed for 1st generation nanos...the 2G's sort of fit in it, but not very well. If you have a 2G, this is not a very good choice.
- Very nice fit sleeve, cheaper arm band
     By A23PMJ4G8JV0NR on 2006-06-23
This sleeve from Belkin is the best I've seen. The silicon is smooth and not tacky and the fit is excellent. Unlike a DLO one I tried, it covers everything you want, and leaves every button available. The screen protector goes on well and is so clear you can't tell it's there. The arm band is kind of stiff and not very soft. I have arm bands from creative (mp3 player crapped out after 6 mo) and one from rio (same story) that I use instead...much more plush. That's the only reason why not 5 stars. More like 4.5. I wish it had a belt clip.
- A decent value for the money, but not for small arms or active runners
     By AQO0IC7P9NU4X on 2007-08-07
I have been using this for two months now on runs with the Nike+ system, running about 60 minutes at a time, 5 times per week. The armband and rubber case work fine, although there are some minor problems, especially if you use this for running.
You can remove the strap so that you have just a nice protective cover for throwing the Nano in your bag, pocket, purse, whatever.
The protective screen cover is just a flimsy little stick-on piece of square plastic. But it seems to work. Be sure you don't accidentally throw it away with the packaging, as others here have noted.
You don't need to remove the Nano to attach the docking/syncing cable, Nike+ receiver, or anything else. There are openings at the bottom and top for access to the appropriate ports/controls on the Nano. The hold button is difficult to work through the small opening, though. I usually have to take the Nano out of the case to work the hold button.
Some possible problems:
- The adjustable strap is large. I have an average male build (5 ft. 11 in., 170 lbs.), and I have to tighten the strap almost to the tightest setting to keep it from slipping. I can easily imagine smaller persons (women, especially) having trouble with this.
- For running, because the strap is not very wide, the Nano tends to slip/move around on your arm a bit, especially if you do any kind of trail running. You can tighten the strap to prevent this, but then it will cut off the blood flow in your arm.
- There's no place to wrap or store any of the excess headphone cord. I wrap it around the strap, behind the Nano itself, where the strap goes through the casing. But because the strap is thin, wrapping the headphone cable like this can easily cause the strap itself to bunch up, and either cut off blood flow or allow slipping.
Bottom line: a good value for the money (about $11 when I bought it), especially compared with Nike's offering at $29, however for runners or others who will have active arm movements while working out, you'll probably end up needing something more comfortable and secure. For persons with smaller arms (smaller than the average male build), it may not be possible to tighten the strap enough.
- Great Product
     By A1YGJW3L2JJON7 on 2006-03-18
I am really impressed by well the product works and at how convenient it is when I want to do housework or go for a walk. It is a great product at a great price!
- Great Product
     By AZXO758M925BJ on 2006-07-27
Amazing product. This is the best iPod case I have seen yet. Fantastic with or without the arm band.
- Good Product
     By A2LLMF51X7BGSM on 2006-09-24
I purchase this along with the ipod nano.....and I couldn't be happier with it. It holds the ipod snugly and it feels comfortable on my arm.
I noticed that other reviewers complain about no place to store the excess headphone wire but I found that if you just simply wrap the wire between the ipod and the strap you can have as much wire that you need and it does not effect the feel of the nano on your arm.
I would recommend this product to anyone.
- Great, does exactly what it says, great price!
     By AIOWOCJ569GFF on 2006-11-21
The silicone is great quality, fits the nano snugly, and the arm band is nice. Wonderful product, does what it's supposed to do, for a fabulous price. Recommended!
- works well
     By A2Z41HUV9P0V9A on 2006-12-05
Despite the assertion in other reviews, this product fits the second generation Nano snugly and allows easy access for all functions, including "hold." The armband is simple elastic and velcro, but it's comfortable. The silicon material is a dust-magnet.
- great except for the fit...
     By A1Y2U9TXANZF7E on 2006-12-22
everything about it great, easy to use and fits my new nano well. but the arm band is so large(I'm 5'2 110lbs) it almost goes around my thighs! I had to wrap it around twice but not optimal, the velcro doesnt work that way...I might have to spend more to have the tailor cut it and restitch.
- Almost a great product
     By A3GL3IUV2NZX3F on 2006-05-09
I bought this with my nano a few month ago. It has worked very well. The only thing I would change is to make the screen protector part of the sleeve instead of having to put the screen protector on the nano and then slip on the sleeve. But at least it has a screen protector, an afterthought for most armbands!
- Great product
     By A3URGVZA532GOF on 2006-08-23
The ipod fits perfect in the case, and I really liked the screen protector.
The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because the band doesn't get tight enough for me. It's too long and there's no way to ajust it.
- Good for me.
     By A1QO3ERL0NX0NI on 2006-08-30
It is a protective case and running sleeve in one. Keep in the rubber sleeve to protect it or if you want to run attach the comfortable sleeve. Only minus would be the screen protector you have to stick on. I lost mine. oops.
- Disappointing
     By AYMN95LVBJAQH on 2006-09-15
1. The strap included with this sleeve is an absolute piece of junk. It is poorly designed, made of flimsy material and cannot be adjusted to smaller arms. I bought this for my wife, who is an average size woman and nothing you do with the thing will make it fit her arm. It is way too long and the velcro cannot be adjusted properly. Totally useless!
2. The sceen protector leaves hundreds of tiny air bubbles after installation no matter how careful you are. I have no idea why other reviewer would say it doesn't leave air bubbles.
3. The sleeve itself is of good quality and design. Nice to the touch.
I bought it based on the positive reviews but they were wrong for the most part. I'm sorry I've wasted my money.
- Okay, I guess...
     By A137TOMHS16X1G on 2006-11-07
While the silicon used in the construction of the sleeve is very nice (feels grippy but not sticky if you know what I mean), some of the features are just wrong. For instance, the opening for the hold switch on top was apparently cut wrong and does not line up with the switch at all - requiring you to have to push the cover around so you can flip the hold on or off. Also, for whatever reason, the edge of the sleeve is right at the headphone jack which causes it to be somewhat difficult to keep some headphones seated during use (the sleeve can work its way in and pop the jack out).
The armband is satisfactory at best - it's just a standard, no frills, velcro armband.
- nice and cheap
     By A1TULQV1VEARAV on 2006-11-20
This is a great little disposable armband. I say disposable because its so cheap you can toss it if you want and get a new one. Nice adjustable band, although I can see this wearing out in the future as the band loses elasticity. Great for the gym. It even comes with a little custom fit LCD screen protector which is a nice touch. The arm band is removable, so even if you are just looking for a skin...this is a steal
- Fits 2G Nano perfectly
     By A50XLQG919DB5 on 2006-12-13
Contrary to other reviews, this fits the 2nd generation Nano perfectly. If you have very small arms the strap might not fit real well, but other than that it's great. Looks good, doesn't add much weight or bulk, and has a decent screen protector.
- good, but could be better
     By A3I6GWDI04K1F3 on 2007-04-11
While the casing is definitely good - perfect fit, non-tacky looking, appropriately matched holes, etc - and it has the essential screen protector, my gripe with this product is the strap. It's certainly comfortable and is adjustable for a wide range of different size arms, but the range unfortunately starts at what is too big. If I make it the smallest I can, it *just* manages to stay on my arm. I have to wear it farther up my arm than I'd like just so i don't have to be constantly pushing it up so it stays on. I'm fairly slim and don't have huge arms, but they are honestly not that small.
I guess I will have to do more bicep work. Or wear it on my thigh.
- Great buy!!!
     By ANU8U8CVXP1J6 on 2006-07-03
Most of the armbands for ipods run about $30, or more. This one is fully adjustable, slim, easy to put on or take off, and (the best part) it's less than $10!!! It also acts as a protector that fits better than the actual protective skins. You don't even need to buy one of those anymore. It's like getting 2 accessories, better than the original versions, for a third the price! "Yeah,...I'll take that!"
- Protecting Nano
     By AJ4MYFI1FHE77 on 2006-08-01
Nice to see and to touch.
Good sheltering for the device, although the screen protector is a funny transparent sleeve
- Excellent
     By A1HM8LGQVLX4C1 on 2006-08-21
This is one of the best products I've ever purchased on line. It fits the nano like a glove and I can wear it for hours and not realize it's on my arm. If only the ipod ear buds where that comfortable. Take care when putting on the protective screen cover and make sure everything is free of dirt & dust.
