Excellent sound quality; uncomfortable earpiece

I am extremely happy with both the sound quality and the range from base on this set. The freedom of not being wired to the phone & headset base it great. My only complaint is that the "over the ear" pieces are very hard & uncomfortable -- there are several sizes but after a couple of hours, all earpieces are terribly uncomfortable (and I am someone that has worn over the ear headsets for 10+ years). I finally switched to the "over the head" attachment, which has a nice, padded earpiece and it solved the problem. I usually don't like headbands but this one is very lightweight & doesn't mess up my hair. I would have given this 5 stars if they had figured out how to make a comfortable earpiece.
Great product overall

I work as the technical adviser/ mechanic for a very busy automotive salvage yard, with 4 phone lines constantly ringing and a steady stream of customers. We have 4 Plantronics headsets- 3 CS50s and a CS55. Our office staff all use these headsets so that they can move about and answer calls without being tied to the counter. The range is phenomenal- I, in particular often need to go outside to our production area and to the yard, and even when I'm over 200 feet away from the base unit with several concrete and steel walls in between, the sound quality is great. These units also seem to stand up well to abuse- I often use mine while diagnosing vehicle problems and while repairing equipment, and it's gotten grease on it, gotten wet, been dropped, gets used in very cold and hot environments, and is generally mishandled, yet it continues to work flawlessly. My only complaint about it is the over- the- ear clips. they are very uncomfortable for the first few weeks of use. After that, they do seem to mold to your ear, and the discomfort eventually goes away. Also, the handset lifter can be a little bit difficult to adjust just right, and we ended up having the tape the bottom of the handsets to the phone so that they'd release properly. However, I can let that slide, since there's really no other way to make a device that can automatically lift a phone receiver that isn't designed to be automatically lifted. Overall, this is a very high quality product, and definitely has me convinced. when I purchase a bluetooth headset for my cell phone in the near future, it will certainly be a Plantronics headset.
Great headset with outstanding voice quality.

This is a great headset designed with everything you need for such a device. Buttons both on the base and the headset are easily accessible and use. The voice quality is outstanding and people I spoke to on this wireless headset said the voice quality is similar to that of a wired headset. I do have one issue with the first unit I received from Amazon, it was not working properly. However, Amazon was quick to replace it with another unit which has been working perfectly for a couple of months now. I'll come back to Amazon for my future buys.
The blew it on the earpiece

I bought one of these when I saw them at another office. I used it briefly and thought it was great so I bought my own. The hardware and sound quality is good, but I'm giving it only two stars because Plantronics blew it on the over the ear headsets and general design flaws. The over the ear attachments are horrible. They should be of Jabra quality, the kind you can wear all day long. Instead they are cheap flimsy plastic that are not strong enough to keep on your ear or support the microphone. Switching to the over the head attachment is not much better as it grips a little too hard, causing it to be noticeable right away and painful over time.
The headset lifter is also large for what it does and it "glues" onto your phone. I was surprised that was how it was designed. Poor execution in my opinion.
For ~$240 I expect this product to have great quality and excellent design. Unfortunately they only got part of the equation right.
Great product - Freedom at last!

This device has worked out really well for me. I'm using the over the head configuration which is better for me than the over the ear option. It does not sit real secure on my ear and can fall off if I bend over. Other than that it is comfortable and allows me complete freedom. I can even take the dog outside and still answer calls. I've had no complaints from people I talk to regarding sound quality and I'm satisfied with the sound quality on my side. A little pricy but Amazon had the best price.

This headset has very good sound quality, and is somewhat comfortable to wear. My only complaint is the difficulty setting the microphone volume so that the people you are speaking to can hear you loud enough without me hearing a very distracting echo in my ear. I have had this unit for about 4 weeks now and I still find myself messing with the volume control daily.

Our office staff absolutley loves these! We are on the phone the entire day and use these to the max. The CS55 with the lifter makes my job a lot easier beacause it allows me to walk around the entire office without any interferance. The battery lasts all day as well. The headset is lightweight and really comfortable. I also bought one for home so I can talk and continue working with my hands.

Very conveinent to use in the office. The ear loops are not real comfortable but the sound quality really is amazing! I am going to buy 3 more, so that shows I would recommend this product.

Works well, it took a while to get used to the ear piece but don't really notice it now. The range is very good for my office and can work on different floors if need be. It is a neck saver!

While waiting for my order to arrive, I read a negative review about a terrible echo. My advice to that reviewer - consider reading the instructions and adjust the mouth piece away from your mouth (not in the instructions). Initially the headset hanging on one ear was a little uncomfortable, but within days I was walking out of the office forgetting I was even wearing it. The range at the building I work is less than 100 feet, not a problem for my use. Can't imagine not having the headset lifter or the flashing light accessory that clearly tells others when I am on the phone!

this is a vary nice headset. i did get a little back ground noise, but the sound quality is really nice. i would recommend this piece.

The CS55/HL10 Bundle is the way to go. I run a small medical clinic and am on the phone several hours a day. With the bundle, I can answer the phone from anywhere in the clinic, pull charts, and get back to speak with the staff . . . all with great clarity and excellent reception. A great tool for responsive customer service! I will be buying another bundle shortly for another staff member in the office!

So far this product is working well. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't always lift the hand set on internal calls when I push the button. Works everytime when it is a call from the outside.

Worked pretty well for the first 6 months, now having some issues, difficult to keep the phone handle from falling totally off the phone, constantly having to put papers under it or something to keep it from happening but great for the moving about the office/home.

I purchased this product for stock. We put it in service last week and I feel this is used and returned or seconds. This product has unusable sound quality. We have 10 of the same units I purchased from the products website. I tried Amazon and this is going to be my last time. I'm trying to get this unit repaired from Plantronics. Amazon stated this was a new product.

I have been using this product for years and highly recommend it. The wireless headset is first rate in terms of sound quality and range from base-station allowing for "walk and talk" across the whole office. I have yet to figure out how to get the handset lifter to fit my office phone, hence the missing star, but once I do I will be happy to update this review to reflect that.

In the pass I used Motorola blue tooth and Jabra receiver it work for a year but this cs 55 wireless headset is truely for profesional. Work great with distance also

This headset just allows me the freedom to move around and not be tied to a desk while on the phone with customers. The range is more then enough and allows me to move freely within the office and other ares.

Overall, the item is good. The instructions on how to modify the sound quality could be clearer.
On the down side: beware of cell phones. If my Moto Q is between the transmitter and the headset, funny things and very poor quality happen.
The onther down side: the company that shipped it (this does NOT come from Amazon) did not send the lifter and I am getting tired of fighting them for it.
