Honeywell 3-Speed Digital Tower Fan with Ionizerx$139.99
    (86 reviews)
Best Price: $77.48 $139.99
The Honeywell 3-speed digital tower fan with ionizer exudes the feel of a spring breeze throughout your home. The powerful, Turbo Wind generator blades move more air than typical blades. You can turn on the breeze mode to simulate a gentle outdoor wind, or set the fan to shut off on its own in 2-, 4-, or 8-hour intervals. Either way, you can control it from your favorite spot with the convenient remote control, which features three cooling speeds and infrared technology. The tilted head also allows for directional cooling, and the strong motor operates with a quiet performance. Best of all, this fan's ionizer and dust/pollen filter can provide relief from allergies. This fan BLOWS! By A2OSF4TMF58197 on 2006-08-03
I bought one of these fans locally and I liked it so much that I ordered another one from Amazon.
Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
Pros:
1. It pushes a lot of air - I can get a nice breeze from as far as 25 feet away.
2. It doesnt take up a lot of room.
3. It is not ugly like many fans are.
4. The remote control with flashlight is a nice feature even though I rarely use it. For the person who complained about one LED being burned out straight out of the box. Only one LED is for the flashlight. The other is for the remote control functions and doesnt illuminate.
Cons
1. The breeze feature is kind of annoying because of the fluctuation of the noise level.
2. You have to hold the remote in a specific postition to make it work. If the fan is oscillating, its hard to find that position.
Excellent Fan By AWILNDH7OVJ6M on 2007-03-26
I am not entirely sure if this is what I have but it looks identical. (My Model #: HY-047B) From my experience of using several tower fans, this Honeywell product is excellent. It pushes a lot of air quietly and oscillates in a wider angle compared to the tower fan from Lasko. Its look is decent but if you prefer a fancier fan, I would recommend Lasko 42" Wind Curve though it doesn't circulate as much air. (I have recently bought this Lasko fan and returned it because it is not powerful enough; its third level of wind speed is only equivalent to the first level of this Honeywell fan.) In addition, I like that this fan comes with a filter that can be easily washed and reinstalled. I would consider this a four-season fan because its three levels of wind speed fits my needs all year round unlike the Lasko 42" Wind curve, which I would consider it as a winter fan, and Nexus Tropical Breeze, which I would call it a summer fan because it pushes unbelievable amount of air to great distances. I plan to buy another Honeywell 3-Speed Digital Tower Fan soon.
Excellent By A21EA3MMQG162S on 2007-05-12
This is a wonderful fan. It takes up little space, circulates a lot of air, has a larger oscillating range than others I have had, and is very quiet. The remote is a nice bonus, since you can make it stop blowing on you without having to get up. The only down side I can think of is that the fan is so low to the ground; if you like feeling it on your face or do not have an open area to put it in be prepared to have to put it on top of something such as a desk or table or consider finding a standing fan instead.
Really A Great Unit By A35048ATHS879O on 2006-08-29
I've been using the Honeywell HY-47D model for 3 weeks now. I believe it is the same unit as pictured above. I am really impressed with this product for the price and service it does for you. I bought it for $49.99.
This is an Ionizer Tower Fan. It does not clean air as well as a Honeywell HFD-120 Air Purifier. So do not compare it to that standard. I have the more expensive $150 Honeywell HFD-120 Air Purifier and it cleans air well. However this $49.99 unit gives very nice fresh air and the fresh air it gives is much better than the Air Purifiers.
I tried sleeping with both models turned on. My sleep was much easier with the $49.99 Ionizer. I also wake up refreshed and relaxed. Couldn't get the same effect with the Air Purifier.
Honeywell Tower Fan with Ionizer and Remote - Great Fan, Loaded with Features but Expensive By A17BUUBOU0598B on 2008-05-31
The Honeywell 3-Speed Digital Tower Fan with Ionizer uses up a very small amount of real estate because of it's sleek tower design. The features included with the fan are great. While the price is not easy to swallow, the performance makes it seem justified. Definitely check this out.
Pros:
+ Takes up a small amount of floor space
+ It has surprising air-power, especially on high
+ It has an attractive look with the black body and chrome accents
+ The included ionizer, oscillation and breeze settings give you a lot of options
+ The remote control has a convenient light for night use and all the controls to power and adjust your fan
+ Remote also has a cool resting place on top of the fan
Cons:
- The base isn't as firm as it could be, and the fan will sway if you push it; move it seldom and carefully
- The noise is noticeable when the fan is on high
- Remote has a limited range
- Some functions require multiple clicks with the remote (no big deal)
- I can't help but be nervous when I read about bad tech support or short lived products; mine is still going strong
Last year I bought and had a terrible experience with the Holmes HASF-99 10-Inch Velocity Blizzard Stand Fan, which is no longer sold by Amazon and now only seems to be sold by third party merchants. After every supporting piece on that fan broke away from minimal use, I thought I would move up to a better brand at any cost. That's the only reason I would spend $60 or $70 for a fan.
So far it's been worth it. It is just a fan, but the ionizer is a nice feature even if I'm not totally sold yet that it does much. The remote is very handy, and the looks can't be beat. Best of all, this fan has kept working and creates an awesome air flow.
While the height is not adjustable, the tower design only takes up a small floor area. This fan is light and easy to move around too, unlike the Holmes fan.
These days there are more options in fans available. If you are looking for a circulation fan as opposed to a tower model, there are other options. I haven't tried all of those, but just do your research with a grain of salt for the info that's out there.
Versa-Kool 12 Inch Circulation Fan 12 Volt
Hunter 90021 Century 12-Inch Performance Oscillating Fan
Honeywell HFS641P 16-Inch Remote Control Stand Fan
I was lucky enough to get a small discount for this item on sale, but now that summer is in full swing don't expect to pay much less than these prevailing prices.
If you need a reliable fan though this is well worth it. Even with AC, it's nice to have something to circulate the air.
Enjoy.
- Excellent fan!
     By A3LP8WC9LKEJS on 2007-03-08
In addition to being rather attractive, this fan is very powerful without being loud. The remote control is simple to use (letting you switch between different fan speeds, oscillating modes, and ionized/no ionizing) and convenient. I was worried the tower fan may not direct enough air at torso level as a normal standing fan, but it's been incredibly effective at circulating air.
- Motor Dead After 1 Month
     By A3BMUUBNKRM2GP on 2007-05-29
I was very pleased with this unit for the first 4 weeks. Then, after about a month of sporadic use, the motor died. Initially, I assumed it might have been a faulty electrical outlet. I mean, I am stationed in Korea, and living in the dormitories on base, so it's not completely impossible for the problem to be building related, right? Well, it turns out the problem wasn't building related. The motor just gave out, after about a month intermittent use.
I am now in the process of trying to get Honeywell to send me a new unit. I will update this rating after that process comes to a conclusion.
- A cool fan.
     By A2X6VKIHD5BWMI on 2007-06-11
I did not hesitate in buying this fan when I found it because of its styling. And I am not disappointed now that I got it. I was a little worried about its height as I read in another review but thats unnoticeable as I feel the cool breeze on my face while seated in the sofa. The degree of rotation is good, covers a wide area and you will forget thats its with the TV playing, very quiet.
If you are looking for a fan that won't topple over easily, has a small footprint, cools your room, has a nice style... then this Honeywell Tower is perfect. And look at the price.
- Honeywell 3-speed digital tower fan a w/ionizer is a honey!
     By A16DCMKK61FIL2 on 2007-04-12
I'm living in the Southwest, where it's been mostly in the 90s since the last week of winter. This fan is a real life saver plus, it does everything as advertised. I'm a picky ol' woman, too, so believe me, for a good rating, everything has to be pretty perfect. Here, it is. Highly recommended!
- Very pleased with this fan
     By A36MAWG9Q8PHDY on 2007-07-04
Purchased this fan from a local store because our air conditioner died about 2 weeks ago, so I wanted something to give some relief until we got it repaired. I love this fan! It is quiet, cools very well and I'm quite pleased. I am usually highly dependent on my air conditioner in the summer but I have found that this fan works well enough that I may not be using the ac as much, once it is fixed. Even on very humid nights here, it worked much better than I would have thought and I am rather enjoying having my windows open again, since the ac isn't constantly running.
Great product!
- Worked Great (works great again, without the ionizer)
     By A20COIGR2CMPEE on 2007-07-11
It worked well... I had used it for 1 year before it blew a relay. It is now a $50 piece of trash, unless it can be fixed. (edit: I have taken apart the fan. The relay that blew out appears to have been the ionizer function. I removed the relay and a few wires and have it working again. Use caution if you decide to tackle this on your own.) I am having trouble finding a reliable fan. Box fans from 20 years ago were BUILT and are still running for us. I really liked the screen, as it trapped a good amount of dust and was easy to wash.
- Tower Fan
     By ASQJUEM21JMN1 on 2007-08-26
Perfect for what we wanted. Not really using the ionizer so can't comment on it. Love the remote control feature. It oscillates well and really pushes the air through. It's great! Would definitely recommend. We've had it for about 6 weeks now and are very pleased.
- so cool
     By A2IPV24R9A48NN on 2007-10-02
I got this fan to try to cool down my apartment without using my air conditioner. I like it so far. Note that I have not used the timer feature.
PROS
1. Air! - good flow, oscillating feature is nice
2. Remote control - it's shaped a little oddly, but nothing says lazy like changing speeds while sitting on the sofa and watching TV.
3. Looks good - I'm not sure if they mentioned this, but the fan comes with an 8" height extender so you can decide whether to keep the air flow lower or raise it.
CONS
1. No default setting - when I turn the thing on, it starts on high in non-oscillating, non-filtering mode. I have to hit a few buttons on the remote to get it to oscillate on medium with the air filtering on. I wish I could set it up so that it starts with those settings right when I turn it on.
2. The remote control works OK - others mentioned that you have to point it directly at the top of the fan for it to work, which I didn't believe, but it's really true. Also, what's weird is that the red light that indicates the receipt of a remote control click blinks even though the fan does not do anything based on that click. It will only reduce the fan speed or start oscillating, etc. if you have the remote pointed directly at the top of the fan.
3. Noise - it's a little louder than I would like, but definetely not unreasonable for a fan.
Overall, a solid purchase. It's done what I wanted it to.
- Fanning Mechanism Is Okay But Too Cheap for My Tastes
     By A3NCIN6TNL0MGA on 2008-03-28
I'm sorry I bought the Honeywell. Here's why: The instruction manual is pathetic so that I still don't know where the tightening screw goes to stabilize the tower and the base. I'm using the fan without the stabilizing screw and am not using the height extender for 2 reasons: it's cheap plastic and the manual warns that you will lose stability if you extend the height. Why make an extension if you have to warn the owner that such measures will decrease stability? This seems lame. Also I have not opened the remote battery compartment yet because repeated efforts have failed and the cheap remote plastic appears to "want" to break. Truth be told, I should have went with my instincts and bought the 99 dollar Vornado 783B. Lesson: You get what you pay for.
- Honeywell fan
     By A2M3ECRQ5WDE1W on 2007-06-08
Woirks as well as advertised. This was the lowest price for this item and it works great. Much quieter than traditional fans. You can tell when the room has been ionized.
- Fan-tastic
     By AKNM1MPF8FDN0 on 2007-08-23
Fan works great and the set-up was not to bad. I do recommend using it with out the taller base though.
- Fan
     By A3FNLTJ20NZJ63 on 2007-08-23
it is nice looking, but it is not as stable as it could be when Finally assembled
- Lots Of Air
     By AIBGSX2D3EXU6 on 2007-10-31
This fan moves a lot of air and quietly. However it is not very stable due to thin plastic base and support shaft. No Ionizer what-so-ever. The light comes on but I don't notice any ozone smell (which is what I wanted.) If the Ionizer worked I would have given it four stars. Very cheap remote, mine broke putting the batteries in. For fifty dollars I'm happy.
- Hope you dont have to send it back!
     By AOHKX4UXQHP5N on 2008-04-28
Cross your fingers that you don't have to send it back or deal with customer service.
The fan was damaged when I received it. The company instructed me to return it to them at my expense for a credit. Sounds fine so far.
However, it will cost $45 to ship via UPS ground from NJ to PA. So, I'd have to pay $45 out of pocket for them to give me a credit for $49--no option for a replacement fan. I am extremely disappointed in this type of customer service.
- Does the job
     By A2ZNZC1H0X5OIC on 2007-04-06
So far we really like our fan (we've had it a couple of months). We like the time feature so that we don't have to have the fan on all night during the winter (and saves on the electric bill). Not too loud and a nice easy breeze. We don't know if the ionizer actually makes a difference, but we feel like like it does! Only problem we have is the the on/ionizer lights are too bright for us during the night so we have to cover it up.

Allerger be gone has great customer service to represent their product. They were kind enough to reimburse my shipping for my fan since the shipments was sent out late. I would buy from them again. Thanks Amy

It's quiet, it's efficient, circulates the air well, fits in tight corners. I couldn't be happier.
- Satisified Customer
     By A3D6RJNU0USZ5S on 2007-06-04
The fan was a breeze to put together. It is located in my bedroom [15x18] in an adjacent corner to my sleigh type bed. The fan is not quite tall enough to blow air over the footboard but what it lacks in height it more then makes up for in airflow. The breeze that the fan generates was more then adequate to cool the entire room on it's lowest setting.
My only complaint is that it is not as quiet as i had previously been led to believe.
- Fabulous
     By A20938IDV38IRD on 2007-06-08
I love this fan. It's super powerful and actually cools down my bedroom like no other. It takes up very little space and because it's black it is not an eye sore. It's a little loud but I actually like the fan noise while I sleep. I'm probably going to get another one for my living room. The remote is handy for someone lazy like me.
- Product is great so far.
     By AFXUFYEWBA2KR on 2007-06-12
I purchased the product about 2 weeks ago and have been happily using it continuously. I have it in the bedroom in the desert and my dog stays in front of it while he is sleeping. Product came very fast from Amazon. Price is great and it looks good as well.
- Honeywell 3 speed digital tower fan with ionizer
     By A2U515PY00HL6F on 2007-06-27
I ordered this fan after reading reviews. It was packed well & arrived well. The assembly was not too difficult. The directions say it keeps the last setting (speed & rotation) in memory but I havent found that to be true, but not a big deal. It does circulate the air well. Like other people who have purchased it, I also dont care for the breeze mode...it flexuates the speed & is a bit annoying so I just dont use that mode. The remote fits nicely on top of the fan. It doesnt seem to be overly loud either as we have it in our living room & are able to hear the tv w/ the fan on. The timer mode is handy also as you can set it to go off after a certain amount of time. Also it tells you the temprature of the room which is a nice feature. I like this fan!!
- Good fan fair price
     By A286UP6Z1CD1SM on 2007-08-23
The fan met my expectations. Small space and good power. The remote is somewhat cumbersome, could have a better design. You get what you pay for in tower fans. This one was little more expensive than others but you do get what you pay for. I am quite pleased so far.
- Great Office Fan
     By A10KUB9PR491Y0 on 2007-11-09
Great Office Fan, where temprature is variable and air does not circulate. This fan is quiet, elegant and efficient. Before I got it, I thought that the variable speed "breeze" feature was a silly gimmick, but now I use it all the time. Recommended.
- great fan
     By A2VJGZA822XKPP on 2007-11-17
this fan is great, in the summer i actually get cold if i keep this fan on.
my mom came over and was so impressed, i got her on as well.. and of course she loves it... only problem i had was taking off that giant sticker on the base... trying to get off all that sticky stuff was pain... other than that. .it's great...
