It Does What I Want By A33UV7TKZ92VHM on 2007-02-07
My entire Home Theater is powered through a Panamax isolating / regulating power supply. All except my sub-woofer. I wanted to isolate it as well. I only needed a small socket mounted protection device and I found this item. It only takes up the lower socket on the standard wall socket, so you can still plug the vacuum into the upper one. The item has one more socket than I needed, no problem, I put a child-safety cover into the other one so nothing else gets plugged in. It also has a coaxial isolation for your cable, I don't use it. I give it five stars because it does what I want it to do, and it didn't break the bank.
Handy Surge Protector By A2BCSKK1D4SR0W on 2007-05-10
This little surge protector was just was we needed to protect our flat screen TV that is mounted on the wall. The size is perfect and protects the TV.
One Issue - and it may be deal breaker for some By AGHB5EUR77VC on 2008-05-27
I bought this surge protector for my 52-inch LCD that was being mounted to the wall. I installed a new receptacle outlet behind the TV in an area of the TV that would make it easy to plug in (i.e., in an area of the TV with an indentation). I used a standard flat wall mount with the deepest brackets available in the kit (again to make plugging the TV in as easy as possible). My 52-in Sony LCD comes with a standard 3-prong plug (not a flat plug) such that when the TV was plugged in the surge protector the TV was unable to lay vertical b/c the TV butted against the plug/surge protector. I am not sure that any surge protector would solve this problem since they all would have to stick out some distance from the wall. One solution would be to purchase a mount that would provide sufficient rear clearance, but that would make TV stick off of the wall even further reducing the aesthetics of the installation. Just something to consider during your planning stages.
I used the surge for my components and I am sure it works fine - but plan accordingly if you use this as a surge protector behind a wall mounted panel.
was mine defective? By AMXE382DCAMQO on 2007-03-06
The one I ordered works, but the plastic nub in the rear of the unit I received has a slightly-flawed location. The nub is intended to insert into the ground hole of your recepticle (outlet). My nub is slightly too high, preventing it to be plugged into a top outlet -- because of this nub, it'll only work in the bottom outlet. I see little reason for this plastic protruding nub to exist in the first place...
Perfect for a small LCD set-up By A1KPI27U7HY9NL on 2008-01-26
I bought this with an LCD TV and I have to say it is perfect and does the job pretty well. It also has a small light on it to notify you of the condition. Monster products are somewhat over-priced but I went with it since it was obvious I got a quality product and it looks nice as well.
Useful tips,
Before plugging this in the outlet, make sure you use the plugs to open them up. Otherwise you will end up forcing them while this is plugged in and cause it to short circuit.
- Nice Idea
     By AF9ULA7W9BO3P on 2008-01-28
My wall mounted HDTV was unprotected until I found this item. It is a nice idea. It plugs into the top outlet. A plastic peg plugs into the ground hole of the bottom outlet. It is a little wider than I would like. I have a quad outlet and although I can still use the other two outlets, I can no longer use them for power transformers. Also it is longer than the outlet by 2 inches and will interfere with anything installed below the oulet.

It's being used for a wall mounted LCD TV and it's compact size is perfect.
- Great Little Surge Protector
     By A1LA4K5JF78BER on 2008-09-23
I have been using these for custom A/V installs for the last 4 years. I like these because of their slim profile and unobtrusive design. They come with equipment protection guarantee and have so far been dependable. I will definitely continue to use them. The price is right too!

I do not yet know how well this product performs because there have been no lightning storms or other power spikes since I installed it. However, for non-tech-savvy buyers like me, it would be helpful to know before ordering that an extra piece of TV cable with input and output ends is needed in order to install this product. I would have ordered this cable at purchase time if I had known I would need it.
- Great for wall mounts

Bought this product for a 15 inch LCD, mounted about 6' high. Includes outlets for cable surge protection as well.
- Small, useful, great looks!

No installation problems with this surge protector. Just plugged it in and the led indicator shows it's working. Luckily, I haven't had the chance to test it yet. Consider that you'll need at least 10 cm clearance if you want to place a furniture in front of it. Great looks adapted just precisely to my home entertainment room.
- surge protector
     By A2HESK245WLKGE on 2008-08-30
I like the plug-in style, no power-strip on the floor to get in the way of the vacuum cleaner or mop. Plus, there is an extra outlet and a connection for cable. Practical. compact, out of the way.
