  The Cranium folks score again. My daughter got this as a Christmas present and loves, loves, loves it.
  
  This is a great toy for late toddler and up. Using very easy to understand technology, kids record their own stories, if you are familiar with MAD LIBS it's the same premise but uses a recorder instead of writing. My daughter has as much fun playing with it by herself as she does playing with Mom, Dad, or her brother. This is a wonderful toy to travel with because it is a single hand-held unit, no extra pieces except an optional spinner to select stories.

• A Must Have Travel Item!!

  Yet another great CRANIUM toy. I puchased this toy for a very long car trip. (also purchase the Cranium Talking Picture Studio which was surprisingly dissapointing) This toy entertained our 5 & 7 year old for hours. It really got their creative efforts flowing. It is an electronic version of Mad Libs. It is durable, does not have accessory parts that fall onto the floor, easy to figure out...a WINNER. One note - the batteries that come with it went out fast. I'd recommend changing the batteries before taking it on a trip, or bring backup batteries and one of those tinsy winsy screwdrivers.

  I bought this as a Christmas present for my 5 year old daughter after reading other reviews of this game. It is so fun--both of my kids (also have a 7 year old boy) LOVE this game! It really reminds me of "Mad Libs" in an electronic form. We all had fun with this game Christmas morning (from 5 year olds up to 60 year olds). and they're still playing with it

  My kids (ages 5 & 8) have really enjoyed this. It's like an electronic version of Mad Libs. Instead of writing your answers, you get to record your own voice. It took the 5 year-old a few tries to get the hang of doing this, but now she's really enjoying it. My only criticism is that you're limited to the 10 or so set stories.

  My 6 year old son also got this from Santa and it is his favorite gift!
  He never tires of the stories and just loves to hear his own answers put into the story. Also my teenagers are always asking him if they can just try it one more time. Will be looking into more Cranium products as this one is a definite winner

• Even adults want one!

  I purchased this for my 9 year old grandson. He had straight A's except for one B in language arts. Jeremy can write great stories but omits some parts he imagines in his haste to get it on paper. He received the Super Story Recorder yesterday and is having great fun experimenting with its interactive interface. My daughter took Jeremy (and his recorder) over to visit a couple (in their mid-20's) last night. They all had so much fun that this couple is going to order their very own!!!!
  
  
  
  
• Cranium Wonder Works is Great!

  The kids got a real kick out of this. It's just like Madlibs only recorded. It's very user friedly. My 7 year old was able to pick it up and play it alone without anyone showing him how it worked. I highly recommend it.
  
  
• Just a tip for those reviewers

  I just received the toy today. I'm early Christmas shopping and since Christmas isn't for a couple of months I figured i'd try it out to see if it was working otherwise it would be to late to return if i wait til Christmas. When i turned it on the voice was slow and distorted it sounded awful so i changed the batteries. But even with new batteries the voice was still slow and distorted. I read the directions and troubleshoot section and it mentioned to reset the recorder if there were any problems. So i got a paperclip and insert it into the reset button. WA-LA it's all better. The voice is now fun and exciting and it works well.
  
  So for those of you who have had trouble with the voice maybe if you reset the toy it will do the trick. As far as the funness of the toy, I'll have to wait until Christmas to see if my 5 year old enjoys it.

• Such a disappointment!

  I ordered this toy for my two grandsons, ages 7 and 8, for Christmas. They were so excited when they opened them, but what a huge disappointment! Neither of them worked. The first one we tried was garbled when we went to play back the recordings. The next one did not even record my grandson's responses. We put brand new batteries in both of them, but they still did not work. We have enjoyed other Cranium products, especially their games, but this toy is a dud!
  
  
  
• Huge hit with a 6 year old!

  Bought this for my six year old nephew and it was a huge hit! I've been hearing rave reviews ever since. The concept is awesome and the fun factor added in makes it the perfect toy. Educational in the process? BONUS.
  
  
• Fun, but recording could be better.

  The kids (6 and 4) had lots of fun with this the first two days, and though it hasn't been picked up since, it will surely make other appearances. There is something of a problem with the recording - it tends to cut off the beginning and end of what you say and can be hard to understand - even when adults speak carefully and loudly.

  This makes a great carry along car toy for my granddaughter (4). Even her 12 year old brother enjoys it. However, after a mere 3 months use the sound has become distorted, even with new batteries! I'll be checking the warranty information.

• Great for the imagination!

  My son is 5 1/2 and he loves this toy! He is what I refer to as "linguistically inclined" so that may have something to do with how much he likes it. He has always loved words, and he loves making up stories, so this is perfect. A little hard for him to get the timing of recording the word in the proper time slot (often there is lots of background noise or an extra word or two), but he still likes it.
