Coleman Still The Best By A2XCTR44L34UOC on 2007-07-05
Great Product -- Great Price. Cast iron still the best for even heat distribution and long term wear.
awesome balcony grill! By A60NZTG4H1R27 on 2006-11-05
I live in a highrise condo, and have a small but very pretty balcony, which can be viewed from my bedroom. I wanted a grill that was effective, small, and attractive. The Coleman Road Trip Grill met all criteria. My condo was featured in a "House Tour" of the building, and while my condo renovation ideas received positive feedback, several asked me to give them the grill information. Wow--it cooks great burgers, steaks, and fish.
Better than coated aluminum By A1GV07HFT6TNV on 2007-04-23
I have one of the older road trip grills (before there were 15 different models), and it came with one teflon coated aluminum grill and one griddle, same material. Although it is easy to clean when new, even using plastic and wood tools, the teflon eventually started to come off on the food. I immediately went looking for an alternative, and this cast iron grill was the answer.
It is porcelain coated iron, so you can use metal tools (just not a hammer/chisel) to clean and to cook. While it can still be a chore to clean if you let 2 or 3 cooking sessions go by without cleaning, it always ends up with a nice shiny clean finish. And, no more teflon on my steak!
Not Good By AU92EQ7GPRSPA on 2007-01-10
Not very good, everything cooked leaves a baked, hard to get-off food residue.
Coleman Iron Grill is not a favorite purchase By A73T1EEM2HX7 on 2007-03-20
I do not like this grill. It is very heavy and difficult to clean. It is not the same easy to clean grill that comes with the Road Trip grill.
- Coleman RoadTrip Grill
     By A121N4S0Z8U3PW on 2007-09-15
I returned the one they sent because it was not the right finish. I had ordered the non-stick. I called and was told no problem send it back with a note and they would send the correct one out. It has not arrived yet.
Customer service worked with me I had no problem with them. To date I have been satisfied with the service but can't give a 5 star yet.
- No non-stick coating in my food!!
     By A3DO73ZEIW2O9U on 2008-05-15
I had the aluminum non-stick grill grate, and I hated that the non-stick coating was continuously peeling off. Even if I used plastic utensils, just being in the Road Trip Grill carrying bag caused enough rubbing together for the coating to come off. Then, once it starts peeling, there is no stopping it. The cast iron grill grate cooks evenly and cleans up without too much scrubbing. It is harder to clean than the non-stick, but worth it not to eat the coating.
- Love them!

We purchased 2 of the Coleman Cast Iron Grill grates & we love them. They are easy to clean, unlike the original grates we had that were made of Cast Aluminum. We use our grill all the time & wish we had these from the beginning. I would recommend to everyone who loves to grill!
- Better the cast aluminum
     By A1WYEA9FBBSVHH on 2008-08-04
Is is a heavy porcelain coated grate that looks and functions like the Teflon grate that comes with the grill. We wanted to be able to grill meat on both ends of the grill. It is heavier than the aluminum grate and seems much more durable. Won't have to worry about the Teflon flaking off and getting into our food like I expect the aluminum grate to do eventually.
If this or the aluminum grate ever start flaking off their coatings then I'll sandblast them both and keep on using them.
- Far Superior to the Original Equipment
     By A2FRQHZ7TR8QLY on 2008-08-20
The original equipment is way too light to handle any kind of decent grilling.
The cast iron holds heat well and puts a far superior sear on anything you cook on it.
