  Granted, we should all encourage our children to spend time outdoors with things that involve the senses and exploration... BUT these days our children do embrace technology and I have been pleasantly surprised with the our Webkinz experience. My mother discovered these cute plush toys at a local gift shop in her state and brought one home for each of the children during our visit. Little did we know that the stuffed animal was just the tip of the iceburg. My 7 yr old embraced the online experience. He has learned to create rooms for his cocker spaniel, to clothe him and bathe him and to feed him. He has learned how much certain things cost... because in Webkinz World you start off with Kinzcash and must earn more by playing fun and educational arcade and trivia games to earn more "cash". SO he has played and earned cash in order to purchase a special bed or toy for his pet. He has learned to take him to the doctor and to communicate with him. My son really enjoys playing with other pets online.... he has learned such games as go fish, rock paper scissors, checkers, a version of COnnect 4 called LInkD... and many other games. He has learned how to cook by looking up recipes and writing down the ingredients, going to the food shop and purchasing those ingredients... mixing them together on his stove and feeding it to his pet. The trivia section has very age appropriate and educational subjects on art, science, math, etc. Everything is very friendly. You can chat with other pets and owners and visit their houses but the chat involves selecting very benign preprogrammed statements so there's no "bad stuff" coming in. Plus in games like word scramble I noticed that they knock out typing in any "bad words". My nephews who are ages 11 and 13 enjoy it and its' a nice way for my son to play over the long distance with them. I find there is educational and life skill values here with this. Plus the pets are not very expensive when you consider how much is there on the computer to do once you log in. I don't know if the membership expires or requires renewal after a period of time. That would be one thing to check but at these prices it's still worth it.

  I just got webkinz for my kid last week. He loves his puppy webkinz very much. However, this website keeps all kids hooked on. What bothers me the most is some pop-up games that allure him to play to keep coming back webkinz site daily in order to earn kinz kash (virtual money of this website). One of the gimmick that this website entices your kid addicts to them is similar to gambling websites, and they really do have a game that no different from the slot machine!! This makes my jaw drop seeing what he is playing!! I couldn't believe it!! Beware your kid might be learning how to play a slot machine at the very early age when you let them enter webkinz website unsupervised!! My wife need to pull him out and tell him that this is not good for kid to play something like a slot machine or gambling-like games, even though it's originate from the webkinz website. Please make sure that parents always have to supervise your kids when you let play webkinz online. This website is not 100% safe for kids. They seem to have a hidden agenda in alluring your kids to become addicted to their games and their sites in order to make sure that your kids will keep their membership once their first yr member expires. Some (or Most) of their games are non-educating games and really not much different from the gambling websites. This webkinz website is not safe for kids. Beware of addiction, and crave for earning more kinz kash which makes it indifferent from gambling websites!

  During all the excitement of opening holiday presents, my son's "secret code" was lost. Webkinz customer service attitude was terrible. Basically, they could care less - but welcome you to buy a new one. Even with proof of purchase - NOTHING. They didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my email. My son thinks its great, but I have a horrible taste in my mouth and WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WEBKINZ.

  Even though the Webkinz toy & website were fun for my daughter, we lost the tag and have tried contacting customer service for TWO MONTHS!!! No response by emailing through our email, their website or calling. WHY do they say you have to be 14 years or older to call, if no-one is answering the calls anyway!!!
  
  I don't plan to buy another, or suggest anyone else buy one either, until they can improve their customer service. What a kick in the face!!!

  I purchased this for my [...] year old for christmas and we love it. I am always looking for fun educational things for her to do on the computer and this is a gem. Once you purchase the stuffed pet of your choice you register it online and a virtual version of that pet appears on the computer. The kids can earn money playing games etc. They then can build rooms in the house for there pet, take him to the doctor,go shopping etc. In this world of computer dangers this item is excellent and great fun for her, We love it!

  My daughter tried to set up her account and it said her code was already in use. In other word, someone probably stole her code.
  
  So no costumer service help for a month now. Still waiting for a return phone call. All I got from email was the run around. I have a HUGE family. This is something I would have gladly given as gifts and recommendations because I know it would be fun. But now I feel totally dissed! They took my business and then pooped on it.
  
  
• Webkinz are Great

  This past fall when my family and I went to visit our friends in Michigan, my mom bought the 9 year old girl that lived there (named Madison) a Webkinz Cocker Spaniel. I had come up with the idea originally, and my mom thought it was a good idea. Now I am back home, and we can play games together online, despite living so far away. I recommend it to anyone.

  I really want this, but every store said their sold out! It's so cute! Does anyone know were you can get Webkinz? Please, if you know tell me. I have 3 Webkinz already, but this one is so cute! And about the website, it's sooooo fun and has TONS of stuff to do! You can build a house for your pet, play fun games, make friends, get a job, buy things for your pet, earn Kinzcash (money), read books and MUCH more! Trust me, webkinz are must-buys! Buy one today!   My kids (and I, admittedly) love Webkinz. Not only are they able to play with the plush toy, when they log into the website they play games, but the games with the most value to them and their pets are education games. My four year old has learned to navigate this site. I feel good knowing they aren't wasting their minds when they want to play on the computer with Webkinz.

  I have had this for a week or so. It is awesome. You should totally buy this. It is almost as good as WiCKED or My Fair Lady becuase those are my favorite interests. THey are cheap for what they are worth. -

  All the stores are out of stock. It is the must have item of the year for kids. It is a good purchase at its retail price of $13.99. At the gouge price of $42 it is a bit steep. My daughter, using her own money, was willing to pay the ridiculous markup. She had to have it. I, on the other hand, think the hype and the taking advantage of that hype is dispicable.
  
  
• A VERY fun toy

  I bought this toy because I love, correction, am obsessed with Webkinz.
  I thought that it was very cute and it turned out to be cuter than the ones that I saw in the stores. The Webkinz cocker spaniel is a good friend and companion. It did, though, lose the shape of its mouth. But when Mom sewed it back it just looked cuter!!!!! I would recommend this to any webkinz collector and especially a beginner. It is the one that they use for every thing. The tour, the help section, ext. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!
