Blokus Trigonx$14.95

(24 reviews)

Best Price: $29.99 $14.95

It's a "chip off the ole Blokus," but with a super-challenging twist! A new dimension of triangular-created Trigon pieces must be fit, tip to tip with your own pieces, on the hexagonal game board. Angles jut in every direction, so new strategies are always evolving. It's the Bermuda Triangles (486 in all) of strategy games. Think carefully! You can block-and be blocked-at any moment! Quick to learn, challenging to master. Includes recessed game board, 88 Trigon pieces in four bright translucent colors, and guide. For 2-4 players.
Grades K and up.

  • Simple yet fun game.

    By A1R9GFIWG487Z9 on 2006-09-11
My cousins introduced me to this game and it's a lot of fun. It only takes a few seconds to learn the rules as it's a simple concept. However it's fun to play and there is some strategy involved. You really should have 4 players though. If you have a few friends who like board games then I'd get this.

  • Simple, maddening, and great fun

My friends and I have played this with two players (each taking two colors) and three (omitting one color and excluding the outer ring of triangles from the board, as instructed). In each case the game works beautifully. We much prefer it to standard Blokus. The game is very subtle, and it's a tough challenge to place all your pieces on the board. This is always one of our top choices on game nights!

  • Great game but little pieces

    By A3JPZDI6NGCJHU on 2007-02-08
Already a Blockus fan, I bought this one and we have enjoyed it. It's just as much fun and challenging as the original. The only problem with Trigon is the small size of the board and pieces, making it a bit difficult for children who are exuberant players to not displace a bunch of pieces in placing their own. Still, it's a great addition to one's store of stragegy board games for the family.

  • Outstanding Game for All Ages

    By A967BIWH1V9DX on 2007-02-02
Having played Blokus with a friend (college professor) and her children (5 & 7-yo girls) after xmas, I decided to buy the game for my home. I discovered this more challenging version and decided to try it instead. What was fascinating when I first played against two adults and 3 kids (a 7-yo played for herself and the 2 5-yos were supposed to be assisted by adults), the kids were better at the game than all the adults! It's quick, fun, challenging and quite addictive!!! LOVE THIS GAME!!!

  • Great new version, great for spatial learning

This game is an excellent way for your kids to learn without realizing it! My husband and I also play it with other adults that we have over, it is very fun. Manipulating different shapes and strategic planning are encouraged in this game, it is good for all ages!

  • Great game for adults and kids 7 and up

This is a terrific game that does present a challenge and requires stategy. It never repeats itself and is fun and very engaging. We first played the game with our daughter's family and they chose the square board with the pieces formed by joined squares. I chose the hexagon shaped board and pieces made up of triangles. I do think this is the more difficult of the two. Our grandson age 7 could play the square board well. It does require you to keep count of all the pieces each time you put it away. There are no extras.

  • Great game for all

This game is a sequel to the game Blokus. I liked Blokus before buying this product, but now I love Blokus Trigon. Very interesting twist to a great game. Because every unit is a triangle, you are given 2 options instead of 1 option off of each corner. It is a little hard to play immediately, but after a game or two, you will be loving this game.

  • EASY TO LEARN & FUN FOR ALL AGES

great new adaptation of the original version. I expect it will be another bestseller. Actually think it is easier to win in this version versus the orginal. Good product for senior residences.

  • Great game

My whole family loves this game as we can all join in and be challenged. My son's been playing this since he was 4 and he's always enjoyed it. We also have the original Blokus. In my opinion they are quite different and i would say it's worth having them both.

Overall a fun product that stimulates the mind.

  • Blokus Trigon is a great game for all!

Bought this game for my 7 year old daughter. My husband and I like to play this game as much as she does. It's a great family game - we now play this game more than any other game she has.

  • Great fun and challenging.

I received this game as a gift. i wasn't too excited about it, until I sat down to play. It's much more fun and challenging than you think. The only downside is you really need 4 players. There's no challenge with only two players. My Amazon purchase was a gift. The recipients tell me they have played many times with friends since they got the game. This is a great game to play with kids, without feeling like you're playing a kids game. Highly recommend.

This is a great game for all ages. It's challenging for adults to play with adults as well as with kids and for kids to play with kids. It's fun also for young kids to use in other ways, such as pattern making. My five year grand-daughter used every piece to fill the game board.

  • great toy

its a very good toy for a present as well as for own kids, my kids are 5 and 3, the older one is playing no problem, - it develops good solving strategies, and the younger one, likes to put pieces as a mosaick, by colors, by shapes. i like it and they are too...

  • Love it!

The whole family loves this game - even my husband who is not usually into games! Great for family night, date night, or just to keep the kiddos busy while you are making dinner.

The only minor suggestion that I would have (if the dudes that make the game read this review) is to make the grooves deeper and the lines higher so that the pieces will not bounce out of place so easily if the board gets knocked. This only happened once but it ruined the game we were playing.

    Buy it! It is great!

  • Blokus Trigon - good mixed age game for 4 players
    By AQDW4YWD108AG on 2008-01-01
For Christmas, I bought this game for our 3-year-old niece (who just turned 4 on New Year's Eve). The first time that we (3 adults) played this game with her, we were very lenient with the rules (only for her) and we all had a great time! I can see that after a few times of playing this game, that she'll be able to play with the official rules and will do very well! She had a terrific time and wanted to play it again immediately!!

The competitive/territorial aspect of the game most likely will appeal all children! But in addition, the playing tiles are pretty (almost like the plastic jewels made for little girls' jewelry) and as the game ensues, one can see an abstract mosaic taking form on the board (which appeals to all children with artistic tendencies, especially girls who like to make arts and crafts projects where the final product is pretty)!

The game helps to develop an awareness of abstract shapes, counting, strategy/logical thinking/planning ahead and a healthy sense of competition & fair play, too. For chilren under 6 I would suggest that an adult help to supervise, or join in the game to keep it moving smoothly forward.

  • Blokus is fun for the whole family!

This game is fun for kids, adults and both at the same time. It is challenging and rewarding while filling up the board. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and they have this game in her classroom. She brought it home one weekend and both my 7 year old and 4 year old loved it - though not quite as much as me! It is a good game in that it teaches spacial relationships, math and strategy trying to make all of your pieces fit while blocking the other players.

  • Great family game
    By AQM7AK5MK7KI7 on 2008-01-07
If your family likes to play board games, this one is great, even for 5 year olds. It has strategy, it is easy, and fun. I like it because even young children can play and win. My only suggestion is to count the pieces each time before you put the game away, and again before you play or someone may end up with a disadvantage. It is made by the same people who made Blokus which is also a great game with slightly different stategies.

  • Fun Times!
    By A38ID3H9SG7KWK on 2007-01-07
I've played the square and triangle version. They both are challenging strategy games. I've only played with other adults though, we have a great time with both of them.
