The JPEG Viewer enables a user to conveniently display digital photographs on the LCD screen.

The Toshiba 15DLV76 15" LCD TV/DVD player combines a full-featured DVD Player and a stereo TV in one convenient, compact design. It's size and features make it ideal for bedrooms, dorms, and other personal spaces.

The Value of LCD TVs
Aside from their obvious aesthetic value, LCD TVs are much more practical in the home than CRT (tube-style) televisions. They take up a smaller footprint, and thus use up less floor space in the room. Without all of the extra component and tube, LCD TVs are lighter and easier to move around when cleaning or redecorating. The 15DLV76 is only 14 inches deep and weighs less than 13 pounds. Best of all, LCD screens use less power than CRTs and plasma screens.

Full-Featured DVD Player
The 15DLV76 includes an integrated DVD player compatible with several disc formats: DVD Video, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD and DVD-R. One interesting feature of this player is digital picture zoom, which allows you to select and magnify an area of either freeze-frame or motion video. An ideal use for this feature is to zoom past black bars in letterbox films. Want to bring your photos out of the office and into the TV room? Simply move your JPEG photos onto a CD-R or CD-RW disc and the 15DLV76 will provide you access to a slide show of your images with a few clicks on the player's remote control. This set is also DivX Home Theater Certified, which means it display popular Internet video formats that have been burned onto a CD, such as DivX, AVI, and MPEG4.

Audio
The 15DLV76 features front stereo speakers and a headphones port for private listening. For home theater audio hookups, the unit provides coaxial Dolby Digital and dts surround sound output. The 15DLV76 also plays MP3 and WMA files recorded to compatible disc media.

Customer Reviews

  • Good but nothing outstanding

    By A4537HQNEWYRG on 2006-09-01
This is a good, general use 15" LCD/DVD combo. The resolution is very good and hooked up to my cable provider (Comcast), the programs come in with good color, saturation, contrast, and brightness. Out of the box, setup was a snap. The factory default settings especially for "picture" were on the low side and required some boost to get a very acceptable picture. The audio is substantial and not overwhelming. It is quite enough to fill a room.

The DVD works as it should and is very quiet and smooth upon inserting and ejecting a disc. CD's and CD-R's all played without a hitch.

Build quality is above average and the unit looks good and appears able to withstand a few knocks here and there.

The remote controls are simple and changing your parameters is easy and fast using the intuitive on-screen menu system. Changing channels is almost instantaneous with only the very slightest delay.

There is nothing here to WOW you, but the set does provide a very nice feature set, a DVD player that is quiet and works well, and a picture quality that is better than most I've seen in this category. The price, I feel, is a bit on the high side but overall it does present a nice package with the DVD player. It would be a great set for a bedroom, dorm room, or kitchen. I am pleased with my purchase and Amazon did a great job getting me the set within two days.

  • Toshiba 15" - Best value - Shopped around

Yes there were some less expensive 15" LCD's with DVD out there, but after checking numerous web sites and reviews, Toshiba came out on top. I would have to agree with the reviews. My wife and I purchased this for our 19 yr. old daughter. We are all quite impressed with the quality of the picture and sound. Easy to operate. I simply hooked up the cable wire and turned it on. DVD works quite well. No adjustments needed. Light weight. The remote is easy to use. May get another, larger Toshiba LCD/DVD for our bedroom.

  • Love it!

We were looking for something to replace a conventional 13" tv for the kitchen. Originally, we were going to get an under cabinet tv/radio combo, but for the difference in size and quality, there was no comparison. We removed the stand and mounted it on a wall mount - the manual says nothing about being able to do this, but it works fine, and the unit has predrilled holes that fit standard mounts.
Great picture, good sound, dvd player works great.
Only down-side is that all the controls are on the top of the tv, so when mounted, they're out of reach. So the remote is a must.
Over all,we are very satisfied with this tv.

  • heres the downside

I paid almost $600 for the 14" version of this TV last year, and liked it fine until the DVD player (lightly used) eject function failed. The 1 year warranty has expired, and Toshiba customer service tells me it will be $350 to remove my DVD and repair the player. Check out Consumer Reports and you will find that Toshiba has a terrible customer service record on their TVs, even when the warranty is in effect. If you must have one, I recommend an extended warranty at the least.

  • Great little TV

    By AS0TJ5KZQT0CR on 2006-11-10
I love this TV. It's a perfect size, the picture is great ... sound is decent. Perfect for a small room such at for a bedroom TV. I really have no complaints. Having the DVD in the TV is awesome. The only complaint [and it's not the Toshiba's fault] is that my Cox remote doesn't work with it - seems that all universal remotes have trouble with all TV/DVD combo units. Just a case of technology not catching up with itself yet. So, it's a bit of a pain to always fumble with 2 remotes - but, other than that, I love it.

  • Easy setup, Easy To Use and good performance.

My wife insisted upon having a flat panel (or as she calls it "flat screen") tv to replace the 14" CRT tv on one of our kitchen counters. She, also, wished to have a DVD player if possible (for her Narnia and animal DVDs). My wife is technophobic. She doesn't like dealing with anything electronic or computer. I searched high and low for a flat panel tv with a built-in DVD player. After seeing a few and reading many reviews on such units I found this Toshiba. It was extremely easy to set up (basically connect the power and signal cables and turn it on). The DVD player is just as easy to use with the remote control or the buttons on top of the tv. The picture quality is very good (great brightness, contrast and colors). The audio is OK for such a unit with relatively small speakers, but definitely adequate. For those who want the "big sound" there is a coax digital output for connecting to a 5.1 surround sound system with subwoofer if desired. The unit is aesthetically appealing, too, and the price was great. My wife says she loves it. I asked her "why"? She said "because I can work it". I asked her about the picture and general appearance of the unit. She said "that's all icing on the cake". She loves it! And I do too.

This has been an excellent choice for a tv for the kitchen. Out of the box, set up was easy and ready to go. Good picture and dvd works well.

Good TV, great picture, combined DVD player really saves space. Very much worth the price.

  • Just got it
    By A3R20LQIULLA9I on 2007-02-09
Seems ok. Volume is a little low for me, but the picture is nice. We only got it to watch videos for work and some do it yourself videos. We think only bored or stupid people watch TV.
