WearEver LR-4 Deluxe Backpack Loungerx$42.49
    (59 reviews)
Best Price: $79.99 $42.49
The WearEver aluminum deluxe backpack lounger brings you easily portable comfort in a design that you carry like a backpack, yet when set-up, is comfortable enough to sleep in. It showcases a 4-position recline, a padded footrest, and an adjustable pillow headrest. Kick back in luxurious comfort while watching the waves crash in the distance with the LR-4 backpack lounger. Combining WearEver's top-of-the-line WC-04 backpack chair with a fold-out footrest, the LR-4 is the perfect tonic for a snooze on the beach or a lazy night around the campfire. Plus, the entire lounger--including the footrest--folds up into an easy-to-carry, ergonomic backpack frame, so you can wear it over your shoulders while hiking to your favorite spot rather than hauling it in a cumbersome tote bag. The LR-4 is made of rugged 600 denier polyester fabric suspended within a rust-resistant 1-inch aluminum frame that supports up to 250 pounds. Also along for the ride are a pair of comfortable hardwood arms, an adjustable headrest that accommodates a variety of body types, and a drink holder that keeps your bottled beverages close at hand. The lounger's four-position recline, meanwhile, lets you find just the right angle for napping or reading. Completing the package is a spacious backpack compartment within the frame that holds picnic items, blankets, and other gear, so you don't need to haul along a separate bag with your stuff.

Best Beach Chair By A1L3ZYKY3JGK8X on 2006-05-29
I received this beach chair for Mother's Day and I absolutely love it. I was able to use it this past weekend during our camping trip and it was very comfortable and so easy to fold up and transport back and forth to the beach. I highly recommend this product for beach-goers and their friends!!
One Drawback By A15DCF7L3CTD1C on 2008-04-09
I bought this chair hoping it would allow me to float in mid-air. However, this chair has no anti-gravity modules or floating instructions of any kind and is not capable of making the owner float as shown in one of the pictures. I have continually been searching for products that would allow me to float as though I was in water, and most products that claim to offer this are merely pyramid schemes.
I assumed that since the levitation was depicted only in the photos but not featured in the product description that it is perhaps a subtle feature, but I just want to warn people out there that you cannot float with this product. Again, you cannot float above this backpack lounger.
That said it is quite comfortable and easy to carry around. I have used it as my regular book bag for when I am on the go, since I originally planned to just float in front of my friends when I had them over for barbeques or wine parties. I had planned on saying "guys, I can float", and then pulling out the chair and floating above it. I also thought my children might enjoy floating. Oh well.
Easy to cart along and comfortable. By A28I98PKHZZKVB on 2006-07-03
These are great for the price and really comfortable. The only drawback is that they are really, really low to the ground and can be a bit of a pain to get in and out of. If you have back issues, do not buy these.
Best Lounger By A8H13R8PJPABP on 2006-06-19
I got tired of our family going to our pool club and either them renting us a dirty lounge chair or not not having any available (we don't get to the pool early enough to ensure getting a chair).
We got 2 of the WearEver LR-4's and they are without question the best! I love the storage bag in the back as well as being able to carry the chairs like a backpack. I wasn't sure about getting the lounger because I thought at first it would add alot of weight but it is only 2 pounds more than the chair without the Foot rest--so I'm glad I got the loungers.
Both my wife and I find the loungers very comfortable for long periods of time.
Buy it and then relax at the pool, beach, picnic, etc. It is a great product and with free shipping too!

Perfect chair for beach By A2AQX160DC2L7U on 2006-05-23
This is my favorite product that I've seen all year. I bought one and LOVE it. Basically, it is a comfortable chair that is really portable and lightweight. You can take it anywhere...the backpack straps are easy to use and you can just throw it on your back--freeing up your hands to carry a cooler, toys, or anything else you might need for the park or the beach.
Anyone going to the beach MUST have this. It's very comfortable and has proven quite durable for my use. You could sleep on the beach in this chair all day long.
Hope you like it as much as I do--i think this may be the best deal online.
- Great idea, lame execution
     By A26HX97ZHQE3PL on 2006-06-16
I busted my knee recently, and this lawn chair seemed like just the thing: it (1) has a built-in footrest, and (2) can be easily carried by someone on crutches. Sadly, though, the chair is uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time, and has a support bar that pokes me in the back in certain positions. It's OK for maybe a half-hour at a time -- I think the reviewer who said they could lounge all day in this chair has some advantage I lack (well-padded bum? better beer? compelling distractions?).
- Why can't I...
     By A384FT3TA2QYCE on 2008-04-09
...float above my lounger like the man in the picture?
Just wondering.
Maybe he's got some kind of anti-gravity model...
- Great design, but small.
     By A2MQ3X45UW0DKR on 2006-07-03
I love the design and it fits my wife perfectly (5' 7"), but I thought it was too short fot my 6 foot body. It seemed like the head rest and top bar were at my shoulders and I had no support for my head. Both my wife and I thought that the chair should sit higher off the ground. It sits very low like a beach chair.
Overall, I think the concept is excellent, but it felt to me like I was sitting in a childs chair. I'd pay twice the price for a large, tall, adult version.
- Good Buy

i got this for my brother in law as a father's day present and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was well built and light. it is well designed with a pouch to carry your beach stuff and very comfortable to relax in.
- Great beach chair
     By A355S6UZ22F7GZ on 2007-05-20
These chairs are as comfortable and as versatile as other reviews say. We agree with other comments that the footrest is a bit flimsy, which is the only reason we're not giving this 5 stars. Just be careful not to put a lot of pressure on it. The back pack is reasonably roomy considering it's part of a chair. They're very easy to set up and close down.
Two things we were suprised by. We didn't realize these were beach chair height rather than normal height, so don't order these if you'd have difficulty getting in and out of a low chair. The frame also makes it difficult to get the backpack on by yourself, but once it's on it's comfortable enough for a reasonable distance like from a car to a spot on a beach.
The chair comes with either a fabric or mesh seat. We weren't able to tell enough from the online descriptions to decide which we'd prefer, so we ordered one of each and intended to exchange the one we liked least. For the benefit of others with the same dilema, there is very little difference in the seat types. If you expect to sit in the chair with a wet bathing suit, we'd suggest the mesh seat, but the fabric seat seems a bit more comfortable. The difference is so minor we plan to keep what we ordered even though we'll be using them on a deck more than at a beach.
- Great Chair! Comfortable and unique
     By AOSIE5ITEDVCL on 2006-06-09
I love this chair. We camp and boat, and so we also sit around.
I like being able to lounge with my feet up off the dirt!
It has a nice little pillow built in for your head and I like the drink holder. My kids use the foot rest as a table, ( like it shows you can do)and that set up is perfect for propping and reading the newspaper or magazines.
This chair is well made, and easily folds back up into the backpack configuration.
It isn't too heavy to carry, and I love having my hands free to carry more stuff.
My only problem? Now I have to buy a few more for the kids!
- Just what I needed!!!
     By A3AY386GL1O1GU on 2006-06-19
As an avid beach-goer, sun-worshiper, and lake-lounger, I found this chair to be the perfect solution to my ever uncomfortable beach towels and lawn chairs. It is EXTREMELY comfortable. In fact, I ordered one for my husband for father's day, and I am now ordering 3 more for myself and family. It offers the perfect comfort for reading, dozing, watching the kids (or sunset) or tanning. It is light, easy to carry, keeps your hands free for carrying all the others goodies required on the beach, and is sure to be the envy of all others when we hit Santa Cruz, Morro Bay and Pine Mountain Lake this year.
- In today's $10 chair world, this one proves what a little extra can buy.
     By A2PRS1MAZ42NGZ on 2006-07-03
Very nice setup. The functionality of this chair was great. You can lounge, eat or use my laptop. I am a large guy and it worked just great. I was very impressed.
- Weight Limit in description is wrong
     By A2JEN1BVC18I8F on 2006-08-16
The description states the chair holds 275 lbs, but the label on the chair itself, says 250 lbs. I bought this as a gift for a big guy, so I hope it works out for him. It looks very nice and sturdy and was very quickly shipped, even thought it was free shipping.
- Too tall, to small
     By AJIIOQJR1S39O on 2007-03-16
As most others have indicated these chairs are great, strong, & comfortable. However, my wife is 5' nothing & I am 6'1". The distance of the foot rest is just a little too far away for her & just a little too close for my complete comfort. I would highly recommend this product for anyone 5'3" to 5'10" tall.
- Very light, very comfortable and very easy to set up
     By AWL4O465AMWNX on 2006-11-14
The chair is extremely comfortable, the construction is sturdy, but it is not heavy at all, I almost don't feel a thing when I carry it on my back. It is very easy to open and close, takes about 5 seconds.
- Very clever design
     By A30L1N5XL04S7Y on 2006-07-05
Almost the perfect beach chair even though a little heavy. However there's nothing quite like it.
- i feal bad once i see this product
     By A3SSBZAP1E7ZTZ on 2006-07-05
This chair has no bolt at one end. i felt bad about that.
- Great chair for anywhere
     By A2GLNSHC8I7G8H on 2006-07-07
This chair is easy to carry, folds easily and is very comfortable
- A beach chair you can sleep on!
     By A1R00QQRUXS16X on 2006-08-19
The foot rest is great! The up position could be a little more up, but the down is like being in a hammock! I'm going to get another, and then maybe some as Christmas gifts!
- WearEver Lounger
     By A1QC21OIEDHJP8 on 2007-06-07
This is the best chair I've ever owned. We go to the beach often and the backpack feature is a great help in carrying all we need to bring. It is lightweight. When open, it is very comfortable. Just put my feet up and relax ! Bought two additional lounges for our daughter and her husband.
- I Love This Beach Chair
     By A230L0WI75QQOF on 2007-08-09
Nothing negative to say. Very lightweight. Backpack design makes it and other beach items easy to transport. Extremely comfortable and sturdy.
- Comfy, lightweight, better than expected
     By AJ27FPFTE22QR on 2008-02-11
I bought this on Ebay ('cause I didn't know Amazon carried them). I wanted some sort of chair that could fold down into something that I could nap in, and it had to be fold-awayable since the apartment isn't that big. During winter only the front room is heated and I often wish I could just sleep there (why waste the heat?) instead of the cold bedroom. And in summer, a mesh recliner seemed it would be the perfect solution on those hot nights. Looked around for those old lawn chairs with the nylon straps but couldn't find them. Found this chair and it was the right price--it's comfy, folds up so it doesn't take much room. Only 2 "cons"--(1) chair sets up kind of low to the floor, and (2) the cats won't fit along side of me in the chair so they both are on top of me. I'm thinking of getting another chair so we can have a matching set--yeh, dumb but there you are.
- Good
     By AJPX8T8VNN58S on 2006-07-03
I bought this item a month ago. It is light and easy to use. It was on sale so the price was good. There is no problem till now but it seems too weak, time will show its endurance.
- Clever !
     By AVS4TBW47M1V5 on 2006-07-04
We needed something to replace the most aggravating (to carry and store) aluminum beach chairs we've ever had. Thought we would try these. They fold up flat and have a latch to keep them folded. (nice feature) The footrests are great! They aren't as light as the aluminum ones but if that's a problem you can just carry them on your back. Still waiting to try them at the beach but were happy with our purchase.
- Fabulous!
     By A10DC4WZY8VUSZ on 2006-11-05
I did some research, then got this lounger for my dad, who's 6'4" or so. I wasn't sure if it would be long enough for him, but he was delighted with it (in fact, he sat down and promptly fell asleep it was so comfortable!).
- Nice Product
     By ALL7VBW9BKLTN on 2007-05-15
I've had two of these for a couple of weeks now. I live out in the country and I've used these in a fairly "rough" environment and they have done "great". Very comfortable, and I'm 6ft. tall. The footrest could be a little further out, but overall they are very comfortable and sturdy. I would definitely buy these again. Nice Product.
- Great Beach Chair
     By A3L7YDO95KJXCJ on 2007-06-17
As a life long beach goer I can tell you this chair is it. Its cheaper on line here than our local surf shop. Buy it & Enjoy!!
- The Perfect Chair
     By A2FR0MNCJP23XC on 2007-07-01
Just got back from a week at the beach and couldn't be more happy with this chair. Light-weight and feature-rich, you won't be sorry you bought it. Several people around wanted to know what kind it was and where I got it. Now my wife and my brother both want one too. Be sure and get the one with the detachable foot stool... it's well worth the extra 10 bucks.
- love this chair!
     By A2GEC8PDMFEBHM on 2007-07-16
I had been looking for a nice, portable, comfortable lounge chair all summer, and when I saw this one at Amazon decided to buy one and try it out. As soon as I got it I liked it so much I bought 5 more (2 as a gift and 3 for the rest of the family)! It does sit pretty low to the ground and probably isn't ideal for a large person, but if you're an average sized adult this chair is great. Lightweight but sturdy, easy to carry & operate, & storage compartment is very handy!
