  • Great Kitchen Entertainment

    By A3DA0BTIGT3WG5 on 2006-11-28
This is a terrific addition to our collection of LeapFrog and other magnets on the fridge. I bought this as a gift for my daughter's first birthday and she just loves it. She carries it around dancing and grooving to the songs, kinda like a mini boom box ... It's easy enough for the littlest fingers to handle and they really have a sense of accomplishment when they can get the songs to change with the push of a button or the turn of a dial. As a bonus, my 3 year old is learning his alphabet.

  • Great for a toddler!

    By A3EA1LXQT1L5AS on 2007-02-05
My 15 month old got this for Christmas. We keep it on the refrigerator and she listens and dances to it often. It keeps her occupied while I make dinner/lunch or clean up. She loves the songs and can 'flip through them' to get to her favorite. There are three 'buttons'. One to turn the toy on/off and select volume, one to select the mode, and one to select a song within the mode. The 3 modes are letters, numbers and music and are selected with a dial like switch. The letter mode has 4 songs...3 of which are the alphabet song. The first time you press the button, you get the alphabet song with uppercase letters being displayed on the LED screen, the second time, you get the lower case letters along with the song, the third time you get uppercase letters being displayed and the alphabet song plays with only the melody (no words). The fourth song is 'Annie OOh'. The number mode has 3 number songs and the Music mode has 5 songs...Old MacDonald, Take me out to the Ball Game, Twinkle Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy SPider and Pop Goes the Weasel (none with words). To change songs, there is simply a push button that is easily mastered by any child. The LED display is somewhat entertaining. My daughter has not yet mastered the dial to change modes, but I am sure she will soon. This also has 2 voume settings which is a plus. I highly recommend this, especially for any toddler/baby that seems to like music.

  • Wonderful! Leapfrog does it again...

    By ADT14V7IDY4YH on 2006-11-13

We already have 2 fridge toys by this company (the animal matching one and the uppercase letter one) and I was so impressed that I sprung for the DJ toy. Our 12 month old loves hanging out in the kitchen but the above 2 toys were a bit beyond her and I wanted something that she could operate easily that would keep her amused. She's taken to carrying it around the house and dancing to the music when the feeling strikes her. Her 3 yr old sister and her have had a few fights over the toy as the educational information appeals to the older child.

    Pros:
+ Numerous songs - not just one annoying one, but 3 difference 'stations' with multiple songs
+ Educational - I love that it teaches upper AND lower case with graphics
+ Graphics: although simple (looks like a scoreboard) the graphics dance around to the music and keep their interest
+ Easy to operate for the baby (one button to press)
+ Music - not bad, kinda jazzy; they slowed down the alphabet song which is great for character recognition
+ Can use it on the fridge or carry it around

    Cons:
+ Music sounds kinda tinny (but for $19.99...what do you expect?)
+ My 12 month old tried to use it to help her stand on the fridge but the magnets weren't strong enough and she slid down with the toy
+ Kinda heavy for it's size - just fell on my 3 yr old's foot. Lots of complaining

    I highly recommend it!

  • Worth the Money!

    By AMXFVWH98ES8K on 2006-10-18
When I first considered buying this toy, I thought it was a bit pricey. I went for it anyway and my 11 month old son just loves it. It is very durable! When it plays songs, the screen lights up with different "pictures" that go with the music. For example, when it plays Old MacDonald, the screen shows "pictures" in red of a tractor, a duck, a dog, and then E I E I O, in accordance with the song's words. It does not sing words though, it only plays the music, giving mom or dad a chance to sing the words, or make them up if they aren't known, for baby's entertainment (or not!). Once I saw all it could do I decided it was well worth the $19.99 I paid for it, and it gives our son something different to do when I'm in the kitchen.

  • Great toy!

    By A383UNX4AETBDP on 2006-09-05
My 16 month-old son loves this toy, both on & off the fridge. One great feature about it is that it turns itself off when not in use. Great to keep toddlers safely busy in the kitchen while you're cooking.

  • Not Typical Leapfrog Quality
    By A3H0GN6BWUVNKM on 2006-12-12
I saw the reviews and intended to buy two of them as gifts, incl. one for my near 2yo son. He loved playing with it at the store. But I was surprised that it looked like a cheap toy, not what I'd expect from Leapfrog (the online pic is much more slick looking). With that added to the poor quality sound, I just didn't think it would make a good gift and I couldn't justify the purchase for my son. Too bad because it's a great idea.

  • Great Addition to the Kitchen
    By A3RDSEXFMFMKGL on 2006-11-07
I liked this so much, I had to get one for a friend of mine too. This is perfect for keeping the tot busy when I am busy in the kitchen. And it isn't as annoying as I some children's toys that make noise, probably because the songs are so classic. Great for use and great for a gift.

  • Fun while learning!
    By A10DBNGVY8XMGL on 2007-06-26
We absolutely LOVE this toy. I bought it for our daughter for Christmas when she was 18 months old as a distraction for her while I cooked dinner. It seemed like it would be something fun to manipulate with all the noises and lights. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of songs and with our daughter at the age of 2 now, we credit it with teaching her to count to 10 (all that repetition), the alphabet and basic phonics. At age 2, she still plays with it all the time and our 4 1/2 year old plays with it just as much.

The songs are catchy and the fun thing is that they don't realize they are learning...it's just FUN!

I would HIGHLY recommend this toy for you and as a gift for other children.

I have a 2yr old and a 9 months old along with 2 older children 13 and 9 they all love it .. but this keeps the babies occupied while i am trying to cook and do dishes , we have added a few more to the collection now like the barn one and another little one we love these and now we all have them memorized and i dont think they look cheap at all and the sound is great on mine .

  • Repeats Letters in the Alphabet Song
    By A1UFFS0OAY0NE8 on 2007-08-10
I bought this product for my son and am truly disappointed in its performance. I have exchanged it twice now and am still having the same problem. The first one repeated the letter "J" in the Alphabet Song and skipped the letter "K". So, I exchanged it and the second one did the same thing only it was with 2 other letters. I then called LF and after returning the second one directly to them (I had to pay for shipping), they sent me a new one that is doing the same thing again. This one is also with the letter "J". I don't want my son to play with it as he will only end up learning the alphabet the wrong way. LF has not been helpful at all and I just intend to get my money back. I have other LF fridge products that work great but this fridge DJ does not.

  • Great toy!
    By A3RF1K2DREKR89 on 2007-01-22
My 15 month old daughter loves this radio. Even though she doesn't go in the kitchen, and doesn't put it on the fridge, she has lots of fun with it. It is great for learning as well as entertaining.

  • My little guy loves it!
    By A19L3TRKHLJ4JR on 2007-05-19
My son is 12 months old and just loves this radio! He carries it around with him and then when he is done playing, he puts it back on the fridge. He cannot turn the knob to "change" the stations, but he can press the play button to hear different songs.

  • Grandson's favorite
    By AZR3XLBOI9OV8 on 2007-05-25
There will be days when my grandson plays this every time he passes the refrigerator. Then he'll ignore for a couple of days. But he always comes back to it. He loves the song Annie Oop (at least I think that is the name of it) He knows just what buttons to push to get there too. He has played with this from 10 months and is 21 months old now. Highly recommend it.

  • Great entertainment
    By A124OY4FLG30V0 on 2007-06-07
I bought this for my son after seeing how much fun he had playing with it in the store. It is just another great Leapfrog product and a great addition to our fridge collection of Leapfrog products. He enjoys carrying it around the house playing the music and dancing to it. And he loves learning the alphabet and other silly songs that it plays too. And since it's made for small kids it can take the abuse that gets doled out and stands up to it.

  • My sons favorite gift!
    By A25JG8TJVBOKW0 on 2007-09-28
We bought this for my Son's 1st birthday because it was on sale and boy am I glad. This has become his favorite birthday toy. He carries it around everywhere and just loves to dance to the songs while learning the alphabets and other songs. This toy, I highly recommend!

  • FUN TUNES VERY CATCHY!!
    By A1ZO0UOV49ZX1G on 2008-03-22
This is another LF toy in our fridge collection ( we like the animal farm the best ). It has fun tunes that my toddler likes to groove out to. It teaches upper and lower case letters and numbers to 10. My only complaint with it, is that the magnets should be stronger. The machine slides down our SS fridge a lot! Also, the sound quality isn't great...not loud enough! I can't believe I am saying that about a kid toy!! Usually they are way too loud and obnoxious!

  • My 13 month old LOVES this
    By A1BJ14LCXGI8TO on 2006-12-20
Nate got this for his birthday from my mom. I helped her pick it out with the intention that he would start to be exposed to numbers and letters. I'm not sure how much of that is going on, but I will tell you he LOVES to push the button and change the song. He has his "favorites" out of all of them he likes the Annie Oooo song. The graphics are just enough to keep in interested most of the time. He's played with it for a full 20 minutes! That's the longest he's been interested in a single toy. It's also great for car rides!

I would recommend this to anyone. :)

  • fun toy
    By A3DO2E47RXKUBT on 2006-12-27
My 14 month daughter really likes playing with this, and on Christmas morning it was one of her favorites. I like the volume controll. This item is too heavy for the magnets on it and really does not stay up on a metal (fridge) surface other than that it has been a hit.

  • Lots of fun
    By A1ROIPX18ALN6J on 2007-01-09
I got this for my 13 month old for christmas. She loves it!!! She continually pushes the button and dances to the music. We've mostly been listening to the regular songs and not the alphabet yet. She hasn't got the hang of the dial but it's still great. She plays with it on the fridge as well as carrying it around. Leapfrog is great and she's loved all their toys so far!! I definitely think it's worth the money.(i paid $14.99 for it) It's wonderful!!

  • love it!
    By A3F0TWXX13O0FP on 2007-01-09
My little girl who is 20 months old loves this toy. She loves to push the buttons and dance around in the kitchen. And she also takes it off the fridge and runs around with it so that she can dance in other rooms. If your kid loves music and dancing, this is the the perfect toy!

  • Kids love it
    By A1FUA6OC23BBZF on 2007-01-11
This toy is always in use by one of my kids. It is easy to use and they love the songs. My kids are ages four to one and each one of them love it. I am happy with this purchase.

  • Lets kids enjoy music
    By A2D14Z3VCM3UBE on 2007-01-11
This was bought for an 18-month-old who loves to dance every time he hears music. He really loves it. His older brother, 3 1/2 yrs, thinks it's lots of fun too. Their mom likes that it stays on the refrigerator rather than the floor and the boys have something to distract them while waiting for meals.

  • Happy Learning Child
    By A30FO9U9GLXA3J on 2007-01-15
We got the Fridge DJ as a Christmas Present for our 14 month old daughter. She loves music and we would sing itsy bitsy spider to her whenever we had to change her. Well itsy bitsy spider is one of her favorite and she now starts to do the hand motions once she hears the song. We couldn't be happier with the educational features and how much she loves to take the radio from room to room.

  • Rockin' Radio
    By A14SQC2LOEQFF5 on 2007-01-16
My 19-mos. old is obsessed with music, and he loves this toy because he can control what song to play and when. I did a lot of research in choosing it, and I'm so happy that I did.

  • Great Toy
    By AQ8OI765ALBD0 on 2007-01-21
My daughter is 17 months old and loves this. She loves musical toys, and this one has enough options to keep her entertained. It also has enough options that I don't have to hear the same song every time she presses a button. It is nice that it goes on the fridge, so she has something to keep her busy while I'm cooking or doing dishes.

  • Great for children under 2 yrs. old
    By A37ZZHO991VTRM on 2007-05-12
Gave it as a gift and my nephew loved it!

  • Fun if you can get one that works
    By A8YDGCNVOU84T on 2007-05-13
Our 2-year-old daughter loved this toy - she carried it around everywhere with her and loved the songs... that is, until it stopped working. We changed the batteries and nothing. It had been about six months since we bought it, and we couldn't exchange it so we bought another one. It didn't work right from day one. We changed the batteries three times and it continually sounded like the batteries were low. This was very disappointing, since it was one of her favorite toys. She tends to like some of the leap frog products anyway and they can be very fun and entertaining. If you can get one that works, I'm sure our daughter would highly recommend it for the fun factor alone!

  • The best
    By A1EYG9MX6I7BKW on 2007-05-19
This is a wonderful toy and my son enjoys it. He is one years old and is already trying to say his abc along with the fridge dj.

  • LOVE LOVE THIS TOY!!
    By A3W051RY9CA9OK on 2007-12-12
Big thumbs up for the Fridge DJ. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old and they both really love this toy. It has so many cute & catchy songs and activities. They both have all the songs memorized. Really educational, it shows the letters as it sings them. It also has a volume control, so it's not too loud. Very durable, we bought ours over a year ago and it's still working great, and the way my kids slam and throw everything around, that's no small victory! Can't say enough about this toy. Great Job LeapFrog!!!

  • Both My Kids Love This Toy
    By A3FGC0V2O7JLWV on 2007-12-15
My daughter received this as a gift when she was a baby, and now that she's almost 2 she just loves it. So does my son, who's 6 and knows his alphabet just fine. The kids play with it all the time when I'm working in the kitchen. They love the music. I can't say whether or not toys like this really help kids learn the alphabet, but they do enjoy it! We've never had a problem with the toy malfunctioning despite a lot of abuse.
