About Paha Qué Paha Qué Wilderness Inc. is a young and innovative company that makes high-quality family camping tents. Campers love them, but when they first see the name in print, they pause and wonder just how to pronounce it and try to understand its meaning. You won't find it in any dictionary and there have been debates amongst linguists about its derivation. According to the legend behind the term, Paha Qué is the Southwest Indian version of "Aloha." Paha Qué takes it to mean "happy trails." It can mean hello, good-bye, how are you, have a good day, and more. Perhaps a variation on the Spanish phrase Qué Pasa? The people at Paha Qué learned it from a local rancher friend whose grandpa learned it from local Indians. It boils down to the fact that the name is surely different, and appropriately so because these tents are very different from ordinary tents.

Real Quality - Very Impressed! By A3PLWT46K35080 on 2006-06-26
I bought a cheaper competing model last August and used it over Thanksgiving, we camp in Arizona. It lasted about a day and a half when a moderate gust of wind snapped all of the plastic rings that I had the guy ropes tied to, and my toilet took off like a missle and we found it about 200 yards from camp after the storm passed. I think that one was from Columbia or Cabelas, not really sure. I looked them both up on the web and they look the same so I cant be sure exactly who the manufactuer was. Either way, it was trashed.
I had a freind recommend to me the Paha Que Tepee so I bought it at my local REI dealer in February of this year. We used it for the first time over Memorial Day, and it was like night and day. The Paha Que unit was so much easier to set up, and it was like a rock when we had the guy ropes in place. The hardware is much heavier-duty than our last one, but the Tepee is much lighter overall. I think it because of the aluminum pole set is much lighter than the steel poles on our last design. The fabric is definitley very heavy on the Paha Que.
It was used about 5-6 times a day for 6 straight days, and after a quick rinse and dry before we packed it back up, there was NO appreciable wear or tear on the tent at all! I guess I am just so happy to find a quality product in the sea of cheap junk - I would definitely recommend this product to all my friends who camp.
shower in the sunlight or under the stars By A18KQTKOC369WH on 2006-08-26
Although this is one of the more expensive shower tents, it is worth it. I used it to camp at a music festival for a long weekend, and it made camping a lot more pleasant, especially after dancing! The tent is white and roomy, with the possiblity of leaving the top as open mesh, which we did. The light comes through the fabric and mesh beautifully, like through a sail, although you have to be a little careful about casting your shadow while showering at certain times of day if you're shy... We hooked this up with a shower pump, let the water heat in a solar bag and then poured it into a bucket with the pump. Delightful! There are some other nice things about this-- it is easy to set up, even without reading the directions, which are helpfully enclosed. But there are color coded mesh loops at the top, middle, and bottom so you don't twist it while setting it up. We had several people trying to figure it out at once, and they were all drinking beer, so it wasn't as efficient as it might have been (but that was beside the point!). There are zippers that open from the inside, and you can hang your towels and clothes on the exterior structure to keep them dry and then reach them through the zippers when you're ready to use them. There's a place up above where you can hang a shower bag, if that's what you're going to use. It doesn't come with a shower bag or any of the "plumbing" you'll need-- it's really just an enclosure. But it's very nice as an enclosure. We had four showers, from a funky hand-made one to a couple of other similar ones in dark colors, set up in a row, for something like 20 people, and this one was the most popular one.
My Wife Will Finally Go Camping!! By A10W271AYBDTF on 2006-10-12
I orginally bought the Pamo Valley and the Power Shower and this was a must have! When we go camping all of my friends wives and my wife can finally go to the bathroom without finding a bush! And they can take nice warm showers when we are in the middle of noware. This whole set up was so much easier and more cost efficient than the orginal idea of buying a R.V. plus we can go camping in all kinds of places that a R.V. can't.
PROUD OWNER OF THREE By A1Q3XIP8F0AIMB on 2006-08-01
I purchased the Paha Que Aluminum Pole Tent last year as an "outhouse structure" for a men's camping trip for our church. It was extremely easy to set up and endured a huge storm the last night of our trip. I was especially impressed with its ability to withstand 20-25 guys going in and out of it at various times over a four day period. I liked it so much that I've ordered two more for this year's trip and after doing a lot of research, I found Amazon to be the best buy!
We love it! By A3RCE5DPEPDCG1 on 2007-06-13
No more stinky vault toilets and no more icky showers.
I love taking a shower by moonlight after the campground has gone to bed or when we're in the middle of nowhere.
We've had this for a few years now and it still looks and performs like new.
We have used this, when tent camping with a shower bag hanging in the top and when RV camping with the hose coming through the one of the many zippers. One of the best points is that it is tall, I (6'2") can take a shower with the full bag sagging down and still have headroom.
One other tidbit of info that has not been mentioned is that it locks, the zipper "hook attachment" can attach to an "eye" so that it can't be unzipped when in use.
