Twister Dance DVD - Milton Bradley Interactive Gamesx$9.98
    (17 reviews)
Best Price: $9.98
This cool and contemporary Twister game gives kids the ultimate Twister experience. With DVD audio and video instruction, you'll know just where to go. Twister Dance Edition features three levels that teach you the moves to perform on one of the four mats. Includes four mats; each one is a different dance environment.
This is what you get when you cross a Twister mat with dance lessons, and it's pretty good. The concept is simple: Pop the DVD in the machine, lay out the 2.5-foot square mat in front of the TV, and dance following the onscreen prompts. In Learn mode, an animated choreographer shows you the moves step by step. The 40 dance lessons start slow and simple and gently add complexity. Dance mode increases the tempo and strings the individual moves into a dance routine. Finally, a party mode provides and music and lights without the prompting or examples, but you can only get there after completing the other modes. It's an energetic single-player game, and the instructions suggest rules for making it a competitive game. The mats clearly mark out step zones and are close enough to be within easy reach for anyone taller than about 4 feet. Unlike Twister, though, this game makes sure that you're in no close proximity to other players, which is a good thing since all eyes are focused either on the TV or on floor mats while arms and legs flail. Inside the box you'll find the DVD, instruction booklet, and four non-slip dance mats. --Porter B. Hall

HEy the dance moves are ok, but the beat is always the same for all different type of dance, whether is a cha-cha, pop, R&B
It lacks imagination! but ok for under 10 yrs old
A different TWIST on Twister! By A25B8W9VSY0C5Y on 2006-12-30
I bought this for my 13-year-old daughter because I knew it was something I would and could do with her. It is fun though there are a couple of dances that have continued to stump us. We are apparently not naturals when it comes to dancing. ;-) I like the fact that it really provides a good cardio workout while having fun! And that is the key: HAVE FUN!
I do recommend this as a way to motivate your children (and yourself) to get up and move all the while having fun! It really makes a great game for the family to play all together!!!
Hit of Christmas... so far at least By A2VDG27W8LLINA on 2006-12-19
My mother always has Christmas a few weeks early and she purchased this for my daughter... but she wasn't the only one playing... my son, mother, sister and i all joined in. We've done it everyday since then for at least a little while... it's a good work out for me and the kids have a great time. I can't say we're getting any better, but that's more about the genetics of rhythm than this game.
excercise and entertainment By A2PRUY7Z8DYL4M on 2006-12-27
My girls (5 and 8) really like this, and it's pretty darn funny to get mom and dad on the dance mat too!! Good way to get them moving in the grey winter days.
Pretty good! By A19IUKJEZ5MLLI on 2006-12-29
My almost-5 and almost-8 year old girls really like this game so far (we've been playing since Christmas almost a week ago). The game seems really well thought out; the character on the screen keeps beat with his feet even while the host-chick is talking, and the screen shows the character from the front and the back simultaneously which, once I explained this to my kids, helped out tremendously.
The kids like it because it's kind of like the Dance Dance Revolution game they watch me play but without the complicated moves or needing to plug the mat in anywhere (the mat is just a guideline, rather than a scorekeeper) or anyone telling you you're doing the steps wrong. So, fun! :)

I appreciate the fact that it get you up and moving, especially for the little ones. Easy to follow - there is a cartoonish dance instructor and DJ spinning twister tunes (original songs to twister). You can play various games or just exercise with it.
My 8 year old daughter loves it and so do I. Great for group play (up to 4) and a great game idea for your next child's party.
- Good Game for younger kids

I thought maybe my young teen would like this but it turns out it is for a younger group of kids. It says 8 and up, but I'd say not very far up. The game is good otherwise and at least gets kids moving.

My eleven year old loves this game and after practice is able to keep up. I have fun joining her, but am barely able to keep up with the 1/2 speed and just laugh when the animated lady tells us we'll now go full speed. It's great exercise and computerized enough to keep kids interested.

Is a perfect interactive game for children. Better than a Ipod.... you are in movement all the time using your body. You can enjoy it with other or alone. But really, you will enjoy it.

My 8 year old niece loves to play this with her friends. Took over two weeks to arrive because of AMAZON'S VERY SLOW SHIPPING! Barnes and Noble is MUCH FASTER, and FREE!
- Fun for all

We bought this game for our 6 and 8 year old daughters. It is easy enough for the both of them to set up and follow along. The dance steps are broken down into easy to follow segments with the option to later combine them into a routine. It got the whole family dancing.

It's fun and a great workout. The only thing that I had trouble with is catchicg onto the harder dance moves.

My daughter was very excited to get this game. We popped the DVD in the player and unfolded the mats. The video came on and the menu was in Spanish. I could not find a way to get the language to go to English. According to the instructions, it should come up with a screen of some sort when the disc is put in that gives a choice of languages. We never saw that. I've tried powering down, unplugging, all DVD buttons with no success. Guess I will either return it or send it to a needy child in Mexico.
- Lot's of fun

My daughter really enjoys this game. It is so much fun to watch her and her friends dancing with this DVD. It is also fun to embarrass her when we get in there and dance with them.

Bought this for myself and my daughter. Loved it, but then was disappointed that there was not enough dancing music on it. Hopefully Milton Bradley will add an extra DVD with just the dance music on it. Once you learn the steps, you want to dance!!!
