Entertaining and Educational By A27ZDEAVPXNOE1 on 2006-05-30
As the mother of twins, one hearing and one deaf, I have had the opportunity to check out many programs for teaching ASL to small children. This is by far the best series out there. Most other products are so boring that parents must struggle to stay awake during the production, and there is no way a toddler would tolerate a viewing. My 2-year-old twins request Signing Time all of the time. At home they want the DVDs playing almost constantly. In the car my hearing daughter starts asking for the Signing Time CD before I even have her strapped into her carseat. My 2-year-old deaf daughter is using 5-sign sentences, which is almost unheard of for the deaf child of hearing parents. My extended family owns a total of 6 sets of Signing Time. Whenever my daughters' cousins have a birthday they ask for the latest Signing Time DVDs. Children of all ages love this product.
Four Stars - Against a Higher Standard By AIQPGFWKJS65Y on 2007-05-18
Don't get me wrong -- Signing Time is wonderful!! All of the Signing Time videos we've purchased have been excellent. One extra nice thing about this one is that the music is low-key, so that it doesn't keep you awake at night when a song is stuck in your head! Rachel makes learning ASL so easy -- she explains the signs so well that they are easy to remember. And watching her sing/speak and sign is fun and interesting, as you can try to pick up signs while watching. My only criticism of this video (hence the 4 stars) is that she does some talking at the end without signing -- a disappointment!
And, I would love it if Signing Time would put out a video that teaches ASL "grammar," if there is such a thing (how do you actually converse in ASL??) -- Or maybe provide it in the form of an instructional add-on.
Awesome video By A2PDOSJDJV72FZ on 2007-04-14
One of my friends recently introduced me and my son to the Signing Time videos. Her daughter is 14 months and knows over 100 signs from watching these videos for the past few months. My 18 month old hearing son and I both love these videos too! We've been signing a bit with him since he was 8 months with signs I'd learned long ago. He was quickly outgrowing the signs that we knew so we were looking for something more so we could all learn more. We tried a couple of other signing videos and they were OK, but the Signing Time and Baby Signing Time videos are captivating and fun, for him AND for me! They are well organized with a great, quick paced mix of humans, animation, singing, speaking and signing. I like how each song at the end of a segment is like a review for the words learned in that segment. This video - My Day - is as good as all of the other Signing Time videos I've watched. My son is fascinated with the daily things they do on the video anyway, especially brushing teeth and hair! My son usually picks up a few signs from each video the first time watching them, and it's been wonderful to be able to understand him when he wants something! I highly recommend these videos to everyone - they're the best I've seen!
Fun and Entertaining By A22BI70KHT9XJR on 2007-01-20
My granddaughters 6 & 8 years old absolutely loved this CD. It was such fun to watch it with them and for all of us to participate in signing. Even their great grandmother who is 89 joined in the fun. It is definitely a delightful CD for young and old in the family.
Great Video for kids and adults By A2U3U1Z7SPJHIC on 2007-02-19
Awesome! I highly, highly recommend this series to anyone with a hearing infant who wants to help your baby communicate easier and earlier. Just make sure you watch it with your infant so you know what signs they are showing you! I was amazed at how quickly my baby and I could communicate with these signs. After only watching it once my [...]could already start some of the signs. She is less fussy because she can tell us what she wants. It is wonderful. Well worth your money, buy it!
- Totally recommend

Love it, love it, love it! The 'Signing Time' series is wonderful. Fun music, songs and sceens. Our son is 19 months old and has been signing basic signs since about 12 months. We first bought Baby See 'n Sign (don't waste the money) and he wouldn't even pay attention to them. I couldn't even stand watching them, extremely boring and a lot of the signs are not correct ASL. Then we went to 'Baby Signs'...excellent, great for beginners, easy for babys to relate to Bebo the bear and the characters, however not enough signs on each video otherwise I would have kept buying them. I decided to try the 'Signing Time' series and he really enjoys watching them. He even does the sign and says the word with Leah & Alex. He will watch a whole video. I really like the review section for my husband and I because we don't always get to watch the entire video (cooking dinner etc). I plan on buying the rest of the videos.
- Educational Fun!

One of our family favorites, and not just because my youngest son is in this, signing "Good Night" after Rachel shows the sign! This is a great DVD that introduces the ASL vocabulary for day to day things like 'Good Morning', getting dressed, brushing teeth (and flossing) as well as many other ideas such as pretending, cleaning up, and bed time. My son has Down syndrome and verbal apraxia, and when he has trouble saying the words 'shirt' and 'shorts', he can sign them along with saying them to help clarify his choices.
- Another great Signing Time Video

The particular volume is extremely helpful for daily activities. Having a 5 year old this video has helped us learn many signs that as parents we say alot! Knowing signs for the mundane can be less mundane and often times fun. Signs taught range from getting up and brushing/flossing teeth, to going to bed and everything in between. The songs are fun and my daughter's favorite is Imagination. A suberb video for families wanting to learn American Sign language. We highly recommend them!
- A MUST HAVE!

This is just another great addition to the Signing Time series. I cannot say enough about this entire series. I bought the DVD's for my son who has Autism and has trouble communicating and to my delight, all of my children will sit and enjoy these DVD's together. They are educational yet fun and easy to follow. Adults will love them too!
- Always entertaining

I have purchased many dvd's from this series, and this one is as fun and entertaining as the rest. My son needs the sign language and this is great supplement to his tutor.
