Disposable Nursing Pads

Breastfeeding mothers know that let-down can occur at the most inopportune times. It can be triggered by missing a scheduled feeding, hearing a baby crying (whether your own or someone else’s), or even just thinking about your baby. And, of course, leaks always seems to happen when you’re in the middle of an important business presentation or wearing your best silk dress at a friend’s wedding. These extra absorbent disposable nursing pads have a soft, comfortable lining that rests against the skin. The lining draws excess moisture away from skin and into a polymer core in the center. A laminated waterproof lining against your clothing prevents milk from getting any further. The pads are incredibly thin (2 mm) and contoured like a breast, so they don’t look stiff or unnatural under clothing. Adhesive tape on the back of each pad secures it to undergarments to keep it from shifting during the day. Each pad comes individually wrapped for hygienically transporting them in a briefcase or diaper bag. --Cristina Vaamonde

  • Lansinoh or Medela

    By A1HFT68GJ42LTM on 2006-09-12
My wife has tried Lansinoh, Medela, and Advent nusing pads.
Out of the three, she thought the Lansinoh and Medela pads were equivalent and that the Advent pads were the worst when it came to absorbancy. She averages about 2-3 nursing pads per day.

This three box deal on Amazon is definitely cheaper than buying a single box at Target, especially if you plan on nursing for a long time. Just plan ahead to account for the shipping time so you don't run out prematurely.

  • Excellent...but pink...

    By A3AXCR0RPQDO81 on 2007-01-04
I really, really, really wish Lansinoh would consider changing the pink to white...it is the only negative for these pads (and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5). The Lansinoh Ultra Soft pads are white, if I remember correctly, and they are SUPER soft and comfortable. However, fewer came in each box and they were more expensive. Anyway, these pads are great (aside from the pink) -- and, if you don't normally wear white/light colored shirts, not a problem at all. If you would like to wear white/light colored shirts occasionally (like me), maybe buy a spare box of the Ultra Soft or another brand (although I've tried all other brands, and none were as good as these) to wear under those shirts.

  • The best nursing pads available

    By AD4UHK81K6Y17 on 2006-06-17
I bought a box of each brand of nursing pads. Some I didn't even finish using because they were so terrible. The Lansinoh nursing pads are the only ones that I keep buying - they last forever before they have to be changed. With others I'd wake up soaked, but with Lansinoh I sometimes don't even notice that they are wet - they have a great wetness barrier!

  • Best Quality & Lowest Price

    By A34DB3IVCR9V2I on 2006-07-11
The nursing pads are the best among all the brands I tried. The size is right; the absorbance is good; the shape is not obvious on your clothes. Moreover, the price of 3 boxes pack offered here cannot be found anywhere. I will not waste time to search for sales in shops anymore.

There is one thing came to my attention, which is the individual packing bag of each pad. I feel I am really creating too much rubbish.

If you are looking for breast pad, this is a good choice.

  • Excellent Choice!

    By A3A70XIK1V9AN2 on 2006-08-22
These nursing pads are the best that I have found. I have tried them all. They are just the right size. They are not too small like some other brands.

They are very absorbant and have excellent leak guard. I have never felt like they were wet.

Amazon has them at the best price. I have shopped and cannot find a better deal.

They do come individually wrapped which is great if you want to throw a sapre few in the diaper bag, but for everyday use that is a lot of extra trash.

  • Don't waste time & money on anything else!
    By AWVFB7M6ICGZI on 2007-02-28
As a mother who has breastfed two children, I can honestly say I've tried every disposable nursing pad out there and most of the washable (including Bravado which is supposedly the thickest, and LilyPadz -- which is supposed to prevent but not for me) brands. These thick washable ones or even some of the disposable ones may work for you if you don't have hyperactive let-down. If you do, like me, none of the others will work for you. The Lansinoh disposable are the ONLY ones that will prevent leaking through for me.

  • The best nursing pads!
    By A1EE4BTPTHCZZH on 2006-06-30
I have tried many brands of nursing pads and these are by far the very best! They are not bulky like other pads. They have a large circumference that provides excellent coverage without showing through clothes. When they get wet, the pads almost gel rather than feel wet to your skin like other pads. Perfect for breastfeeding moms!

  • a miracle!
    By A1WLXT0AH1X16E on 2006-08-24
I have used every luxury nursing pad and breast shield I could find to try and at least keep my bras (and shirts) dry. Some things worked alright but I was still wetting my shirts several times a day. Then someone sent me these and I haven't had a wet shirt since!! I am a big-breasted, heavy leaker and these super thin pads amazingly absorb every drop, even at night. I only have to change them once a day and I can wear normal clothes again!!

  • great value
    By A2DYUYYU7B92SK on 2006-11-11
Great price. Excellent product. Also, you get a free small packet of wipes and two breastmilk storage bags.

  • The best
    By A345788AMRGOVI on 2006-12-11
I have tried other pads and this one is the best...plus the 3 pack comes with a couple of free milk storage bags. Thin, individually packed and perfect for the pumping and/or breastfeeding mom...use them to catch let-down on the breast your baby is not latched on to.

  • Must Have
    By A1NMD9B5OG88X8 on 2007-04-05
These are the best nursing pads out there. I tried several others that would not stick and would leak. I've never had any problems with these!

  • best nursing pads
    By AZZ5ENX41WOYZ on 2007-05-07
I work full time and pump at work-- no problem with these pads-- I can wear whatever shirt and they don't show and they absorb milk in case I'm late too pump! They give you free storage bag samples and now wipe samples, too.

  • no leaking
    By A3UKG5P6L3TSAH on 2007-05-09
I have tried pretty much all brands of nursing pads and these are the best. These are the only pads I could wear all night and all day without leaking even when the milk first came in. If I know a new mom will be breastfeeding I always get these for a gift.

  • These are the best pads!
    By A1FNEVRIGJFUKY on 2007-05-10
I have been breastfeeding for almost 9 months now and these are the ONLY pads I will use, they are very absorbent and also the least discrete under clothing. I tried the Avent, which did absorb well, but are way too bulky under clothing. I tried the Curity brand from Walmart and they were horrible.

  • The best nursing pads available!
    By A26KW750LLIEAT on 2007-06-04
Don't waste your money on any other nursing pad - these are the absolute best. They are NOT backed with plastic, and are thin and absorbent enough to be trusted in public. They don't show through clothes! I have tried some no-name and generic pads but would never go back to them after trying these. Lansinoh is the BEST!

  • The best I've found-- wish they were better
    By A3GYVY3AFU8794 on 2007-08-10
I'm nursing my third child now, so I really have experience with nursing pads. I hate all of them except these. This is the only brand that doesn't show through your clothing. I think the pink color is actually better at hiding than white would be.

Here are my two suggested improvements:
    1. Get ride of the sticky thing. I have not yet found a place where it would help. If you move the cup of your bra to nurse, the pad gets all crumpled at the sticky spot. Also, the paper that covers the adhesive shows through clothes.
    2. Don't individually wrap them. The wrappers are *extermely crinkly*, which **wakes babies**. When I get a new box, I immediately open all of them so I can just grab one when I need it. Perhaps an inner zip lock would keep out ambient moisture.

I have notice that they improved the wrapper to make it easier to open. Thanks!

  • These nursing pads are great!
    By A3LV06NUWRXQWF on 2007-09-09
I tried several brands, including washable nursing pads, and these are by far the best. They are thin, trim, and wick away moisture very quickly. I never had an embarrassing wet shirt while using them and could comfortably go back to work after pumping because they prevent your nipples from showing after pumping.

  • yep... these are the best
    By A322NSG4W6NO on 2007-09-14
Yes, I am posting this under my husbands account:
Nursing for five years, tried them all. These are the best for a few reasons:
    1. contoured, thin and can be worn without seeing two big circles on your chest
    2. absorbent, no fears of leaking. Similar to disposable diapers in the way they absorb
    3. comfortable, dry next to the skin unless you really need to change them
    4. Enough padding to keep the nursing nipples from being headlights.
5.The only improvement I can see being made is having two stickers
(top/bottom) to secure to bra, the one doesn't work well with my padded t-shirt bras, but just fine with the non-padded ones.

  • Super Absorbent, Ultra Thin
    By A1F6O7FZ03JJH5 on 2007-10-10
This is one of the most comfortable nursing pads I have used. I like the pads because they are:
    a. Absorbent: Pad absorbs milk right down to its core so you do not feel sticky from milk leakage.
    b. Ulltra thin - lines will not show even if you are wearing a tight fitting tee.
    c. Cheaper and thinner than any similar product e.g. Gerber premium contoured nursing pads.

  • Great pads
    By A152XSHQSE5ZYX on 2007-10-18
These are great pads. Beware though, they come in different kinds like thin or absorbent and soft(great for the beginning of breast feeding when you are the most sensitive. Lansinoh is a great product, the lotion for the breast too is great.

  • Wonderful pads
    By A39QE9PYN161QI on 2007-11-21
After using Medela pads, Avent pads and Lansinoh pads, I've found the Lansinoh pads to be the best. For one, they're big but not bulky and thick, they're thin enough and contour well to the body and quite absorbent. When I breastfeed, I take the pads out since they can wrinkle if I just pull the bra aside with the pad in there. But after taking the pads out so many times, the adhesive wears out, I wish it were on the top as well as at the bottom. Also if you wear thin shirt, the wrinkles from the pad shows. But overall, compared to other brands, this is the best I've found so far.

  • Wonderful product
    By AGZ7ICIBJ35ZV on 2007-12-08
This product is the best ever. With my first baby I didn't know about the Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads, and would wake up every night soaking wet with breast milk when I would have a let down of milk at night. It was so annoying because I was wearing Gerber washable pads and they just did not help during the night or day. A friend of mine who also just had a baby told me about Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads, so I tried them and they are truely wonderful, they do not leak, I never again woke up wet, and my flows were bountiful, and they come individually wrapped, and each pad has an adhesive sticker at the back which actually stays put, unlike other pads, and I just changed them twice a day, once in the morning and once again at night. Don't hesitate to buy these pads, you will not regret it at all, well worth the money.

  • the only pads i'll trust to go out in public w/!
    By AXX1N11HTPIH9 on 2008-03-27
best pads on the market -- just be sure to remember to change them so you do not develop thrush -- it's easy to forget w/these because they do such a great job at wicking/absorbing moisture :)

  • Love it - very practicle
    By A3DJB1VYNH5UAN on 2008-06-15
I tried a couple of brands at first (whatever I had a coupon for) thinking that disposable nursing pads were all the same - NOT SO. These are by far the best. Here are the features I Love!

    1) Individually packaged, handy for stuffing in purse/diaper bag. Plus, the plastic wrap is recyclable, which makes me feel better.
    2) Holds a lot of liquid. I have a problem with leaking - a LOT, and these pads hold the liquid so I don't have to worry about leaking on my clothes.
    3) Thin - though you still have to wear a padded bra so they don't show at all.
    4) Big disc. Some of the others I tried were small, so there was more chance of leaking.
    5) Nice material. The material on Johnson's brand actually STUCK to me, which was very painful when I was already sensitive. These don't stick and they are soft.

In all - these are the only brand I will continue to purchase while I nurse! Oh, and this package from Amazon is a good deal too!

  • Great deal, worth the money!
    By A3E3YVFHHC1N3A on 2008-07-01
I have tried many nursing pads in my time as a breastfeeding mother and Lansinoh wins hands down. They are the best at full coverage, smooth appearance under bra and leak protection. I have NEVER leaked through a Lansinoh nursing pad, unless it was my fault and the pad shifted as I slept (which happens with them all on occasion.) And they do have the sticky section to keep the pads in place so they rarely move. I think they are well worth the price, especially the amazon price and the awesome Subscribe and Save program! Soo easy...as soon as I see I'm running low, I go check when my next shipment will come in online and if I need them sooner, I am just a few clicks away from a new shipment. Much better than dragging the babies out to the store to buy some!
    Great product! Great buy!

  • SUPER FAST SHIPPING
    By A182C0E42UBF57 on 2006-10-26
Amazon has the best price for Lansinoh if you are buying in bulk. It is worth buying 2 orders of these pads so you qualify for the free shipping. I recieved my pads in just a couple of days. You get six boxes of Lansinoh pads. They are advertising it as 60 pads per box but you actually get 66 per box (they throw in 6 free!) plus a package of 10 breast wipes in each box. It is an awesome deal. I shopped target, walmart, and all around the web and amazon has the best deal if you buy in the quantity of 2. (6 boxes all together) Definitley the best deal in bulk for Lansinoh

  • Best nursing pads
    By AZN2IPFWZSPMR on 2006-11-06
Incredibly absorbent, never leak. Stay put, thanks to the adhesive. Individually wrapped, so great for travel/portability. Very thin and comfortable. Simply the best. I had my second child in June, and I won't use any other type or brand.

  • Great product
    By A1HN1RPXUS6ZTI on 2007-01-09
I would recommend this product to every mom. It does not leak, it's not noticable under your bra,it's very comfortable and it stays in place.
Also it does not stick to your nippes like Johnson and Johnson brand.

  • The best!
    By A1OWZE5OSKJZM6 on 2007-01-09
I have tried the gerber nursing pads, and one other brand. These nursing pads are the best. I have a large supply of milk but I have not leaked through these pads, they are also very soft and they are not visible through your clothing!

  • No more leaks!
    By A1CHAE2IYDV2ZW on 2007-01-09
This is such a great product for nursing moms. It is not bulky and is reliable to keep leaks from happening. For a mom, this was a lifesaver for me to allow me to go outside without being embarassed by having a wet shirt.
