This is a great lock, way better than the previous generation

Everything that was bad about Kensington's previous generation lock, the three wheel Kensington 64050 ComboSaver Notebook Lock, has been fixed in this one.
As I write this, both the three wheel 64050 and this new generation 64344 are on the market, but the three wheel lock is awkward to use and this one is easy. This one has none of the accidental combination reset problems of the earlier lock and is a bit more robust. This one is just a bit bulkier than the 3 wheel version, but has a nice strap to keep it coiled up when stored. It works well on my MacBook Pro, and stores neatly in my Incase Nylon Sleeve for MacBook Pro.
Couldn't be Easier to Use!

This computer lock is extremely easy to use and easy to reset the combination. The dials turn very easily, unlike the earlier version with three numbers. I also like the fact that this one has four numbers - muc harder to crack the code. It's a great deterrent while I'm at the library or other public place and need to leave the area for a short time to get a book.
Tricky to figure out, at first, but works great after that

I have had multiple laptop computers stolen from public places in mere seconds. Once, in a hotel conference center in New York, the security cameras showed that the thief had stolen my laptop during the 15 seconds it took me to walk out to the reception desk to request that the security guard lock the room! In D.C., my laptop was stolen literally behind my back as I spoke to a colleague. This security cable won't stop a determined thief, but it will deter the "pick it up and keep walking" thieves who prey on laptop users in public places. I use it religiously when using my computer in public places like coffee shops. Now, I can walk back to the counter to get a napkin without worrying that my laptop will disappear.
My only complaint about this product is that figuring out how to secure the lock is not intuitive. The printed directions are of little help. You just have to fiddle around with it for ten minutes until you figure out how it works. Two of my colleagues at work had the same problem. Once you figure it out, it makes sense and isn't awkward at all. I just wish the manufacturer could figure out how to print instructions that eliminated the initial confusion. When that happens, I'll give it 5 stars.
very good in deterring otherwise honest people

I like this product very much and use it with the mobileedge securilock combo lock simultaneously on my toshiba satellite notebook. This one goes on the standard kensington slot, AND the securilock is locked to the VGA out port.
This means that my notebook is tied down by two different cables. I attach the kensington to the desk and the securilock is attached to a concrete column.
The kensington is very easy to install and I carry both cables in my backpack wherever I go.

At first, I had a hard time to attach it to my laptop but after the learning stage it's a piece of cake. The good thing is it never get stuck while unlocking. The combination lock avoids the problem of losing keys. Even though it's more expensive that the other locks, this one is worthy. Now I don't need to worry about my laptop when I am away.
- The worst. Avoid at all costs!

A terrible product. Extremely difficult to use. Way too easy to accidentally change the combination, and when that happens, it's useless. The only reason it gets one star is that the rating system does not allow a zero or a negaive number. Don't waste your money on this product.

-Too easy to accidentally change the combination which makes it difficult to set the combo and remove the lock.
-This product is built to fit on the right side of a laptop. If you're laptop is like mine where the plug is on the left side, you have to turn the laptop around in order to unlock it (unless you don't mind doing it backwards)
- Easy to use, and good quality product

Some confusion in the color coding in the instructions but once you are past that it is a very solid lock.
