Total Garbage. Not worthy as a coaster let alone as a music collection By ALVXK3OG9LIMY on 2008-02-15
A group of untalented hacks. Computer altered voices without any range. My eardrums are still recovering from this monstrosity. Buying this cd is equivalent to throwing a 10.00 bill down the toilet.
saweet cd! By A17XY7X7C9T7GY on 2006-08-14
this is an awesome cd with a great variety of the most popular songs at the time. personally, i think this is the best now cd yet! the now cds just keep getting better and better, so im excited to see what now23 has in store for us.
- Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh, yes!
     By A3BXTF5HJ0SQNO on 2006-07-20
This is THE album to get if you're really serious about music. Kelly Clarkson, Three Six Mafia, Nick Lachey, Beyonce, and Chris Brown are have hits on this CD. You're gonna love it and you'll play it for hours!! The NOW collections are selling through the roof; in fact, this album is outselling Thom Yorke three-to-one. Why? Because Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce are hip and relevant, and Thom is not.
- Solid album from NOW series--crunchy rock on second half!
     By A2POH6NDBLHGDT on 2006-07-20
I liked this Now 22 release--it's more consistent than some past Now releases. The first half has some good R&B and hip-hop numbers such as Rihanna, Sean Paul, Beyonce (fun song she made) and Chamillionnaire. But it jump full throttle between tracks 10 and 19 with crunchy rock numbers and some creative done songs. KT Tunstall and Saving Jane's rocking songs give the more popular Kelly Clarkson some stiff competition. Pairing Nick Lachey's What's Left of Me with Daniel Powter's Bad Day was a smart move--both songs are extremely popular and heavily played at this moment. Lachey is in fine form--he sounds so much better vocally. The All-American Rejects Move Along has a stomp and feel so close to U2 circa 1984. Would have fit well on U2's The Unforgettable Fire and Bono would have sounded perfect singing it. It has the feel of the big arena rock records of the '80s but with their 2005 approach to them. Ashley Parker Angel's Let U Go is LOUD!, full of energy and makes you forget about the lame, mediocre and formulaic pop of his former group O-Town. The worst song and only bad song on here is Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia and their Poppin' My Collar. They could have replaced that with something else. I think Three 6 are an interesting rap group, but their song seems out of place in this collection. But I can't stop talking about the solid section between 11 and 19--such incredible songs by these up and coming and continuing rock artists, a strong emphasis on musicianship and a willingness to take artistic chances. Keith Urban's song on track 20 is one of his best written songs--continues the heartbroken themes that Nick Lachey's song did earlier. A lot of times the NOW series focuses on radio hits, which I love, but this one is a step up with the dynamic second half. Other years the albums' second half sounded disconnected from the first with forgettable songs, but I'm playing these just as much as Rihanna or Chamillionnaire or Chris Brown. A good CD to play during these hot summer months on long road trips and cookouts.
- I Hear These Songs On The Radio Everyday
     By A1X93ES4DITTWK on 2006-07-18
These songs are played on the radio everyday. You're better off recording these songs on a blank cassette tape. Anybody who buys NOW 22 knows full well that after a while that it's going to end up in a $1.99 bin at the used CD store. It's just one of *those* CDs.

- the same songs that are played all the time
     By A9Q28YTLYREO7 on 2006-07-22
only two-three tracks on here carry any kind of weight with me&they are "Chamillionaire" Ridin Dirty" which is a cool bounce cut. "Sean Paul"Temperature, T-Pain" I'm in Luv with a stripper" was my cut. tired of hearing "Bad Day". "Ms.New Booty" is Funny. the kind of cut to laugh&crack up off of,but that is it. the Kelly Clarkson song is ok,but after that nothing gets my attention. so on a whole pretty average.
- help yourself
     By A3CJ7F7JGUJIJX on 2006-07-22
First off, if you like any of the artists on this cd, there is something wrong with you already, secondly, if you want to buy a cd, why not pick your favorite artist (or rather sex symbol)and buy their cd instead. This is a shameless attempt to make money...but unless you're here to mock the cd like i am, you probably won't listen. Buy Mudhoney instead, its better pop music.
- Their Almost At Perfect
     By A2NVUUKWT5CHWK on 2006-07-12
If your like me than you like all types of music. This cd has many different styles and types of music. Most of the tracks on here are good but some aren't as good as others. Some of the good ones i think are SOS, Bad Day, Savin Me, Over My Head (Cable Car), Move Along, and Ms. New Booty.
Suggestions I have for now 23 are:
1)Cassie-Me&U
2)Pussycat Dolls Ft Big Snoop Dogg-Buttons
3)Chris Brown-Gimme That
4)Chingy Ft Tyrese-Pullin Me Back
5)Brooke Ft Paul Wall- About Us
6)Nelly Furtado Ft Timbalind- Promiscous
7)Yung Joc- It's Goin Down
8)Ciara Ft Chamillioare-Get Up
9)Rihanna-Unfaithful
10)Red Hot Chili Peppers-Dani Califonia
11)Sean Paul Ft Keisha Cole-Give It Up To Me
12)Christina Aguilera-Ain't No Other Man
13)T.I.-What You Know
14)Beyonce Ft Jay-Z-Deja Vu
15)Fergie-London Bridge
16)Nickelback-Far Away
17)NE-YO-Sexy Love
18)Danity Kane Ft Yung Joc-Show Stopper
19)Diddy Ft Nicole Of The Pussycat Dolls-Come To Me
20)JoJo-Too Little, Too Late

Okay, 3 Words...'Ms. New Booty'.
Sorry, Love that song.
Okay, now for the album review right. Well it's the latest installment in the long line of 'Now!' comp. albums and I'm gonna make the same statement that everyone has already made. There has not been one Christian Aguliera track on any of these CD's and she's made plenty of hits, some I didn't care for but teeny boppers in general did, and 'Stripped' was full of GREAT songs that deserved to get 'Now!'s attention right? Well, not so, and heres another one down without my girl. Oh well, can't do anything but complain. This album does have 'Ms. New Booty' though so I'm good. At least they didn't add K-Fed for good measure.
Rihanna opens with her best song yet, much better than that 'Unfaithful' crap polluting the airwaves now that's sure to make it onto 'Now! 23', as will be 'Gimmie That' but Chris Brown, his much beter than 'Yo' hit, which is included here. I have always hated 'Check On It' but the world loves it and Beyonce is huge so she's gotta have a spot. LOVE 'Temperature', well, love anything Seal Paul, and I'm glad to see T-Pain's 'I'm in Love with a Stripper' made the cut. Dig, 'Ridin' even if the dude sounds just like Timberland.
Three 6 Mafia needs to go away. Just because they won an oscar for writting a song Terrance Howard sung doesn't mean they're any good at what they do. Plenty of undeserving actors and such have won oscars. I'd name a few but I may start riots (Ok, so I'll say Sean Penn for Mystic River and Denzell Washington for Training Day just for kicks). So there you go, Three 6 Mafia sucks...nuff said.
Ne-Yo on the other hand does not. 'When You're Mad' is a great song, not too deep but fun to listen to and Ne-Yo is a great singer. Sometimes he's a little nasally, but he works it out. Nick Lachey on the other hand doesn't cut it. He shouldn't be moaning over Jessica, he should be popping champaine and banging hookers. Jessica is the most annoying piece of media garbage around and Nich should be happy to be rid of her. He's just depressed his free loading days are over and he actually has to resort back to singing. His song is kinda bad, you know, not really good. I think Jessica rubbed off on him a bit.
Now there are two artist's who need to thank American Idol for two separate things. First K.T. Tunstall needs to thank them, more notably Katherine McPhee, for singer her song and making her known to the world. I promise you the only reason she's here is because EVERYONE say Katherine perform this song and said "I could listen to that". The song is actually really good so I'm happy for her. Daniel Powter also needs to thank American Idol for starting and then ending his career faster than Randy and Paula get on my nerves. Listening to 'Bad Day' get played over and over every Wen. and then having to suffer through it on the radio has transformed his song, which was decent, into a nightmare. His career is over, I promise you that, and you have American Idol to thank. Ha! That's kinda funny how the main show to jumpstart your career can murder it!
Teddy Geiger (who I'm guessing is the next Ryan Cabrera) delivers a song I actually enjoy while Clarkson does the same (I just love her). The Fray deliver one of the best songs on the album, and Nickleback finally makes me proud again. Saving Jane is kinda whiney and overall comes off blah while The All American Rejects take the crown for best rock track...sounds very Our Lady Peace.
In closing, Keith Urban returns again, this time with one of my favorite country songs. 'Tonight I Wanna Cry' is personal, touching, moving, and emotional (all four of those descriptive words can meanthe same thing I know) and I just love every minute of it. Great way to close out this album. So no, it's not perfect, but it's 'Now!' and if you've been buying these albums from the beginning you already knew of the ups and downs and have grown to live with it. In about 5 years this album will be great becasue it will be a reminder of yesteryears...it will seem fresh because this crap won't be on the radio and it will give you a look at the way music was when you liked it.

Yet again, the American Now That's What I Call Music! cd is way worse than the European one. It's something I've come to expect. Now 64 has a wide span of genres, and two cds of songs to boot, while Now 22 has strictly Pop/Rock/Rap with one country song thrown in as filler, as always. Now 22 is not bad, but it's nothing compared to Now 64.
1. Rihanna - S.O.S. ... B+
Way overplayed, but a good song. Just because it samples the music from "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell doesn't mean it's bad or unoriginal. It's a good song. But I just can't stand it after hearing it 5,000 times.
2. Sean Paul - Temperature ... B+
Mad catchy, but also mad overrated.
3. Chamillionaire Feat. Krazie Bone - Ridin' ... A-
One of the best rap songs out today, but also way overplayed.
4. Beyonce & Slim Thug - Check On It ... A-
Another catchy one. I could've sworn I heard a faster version of this on the California radios though...hmmm...
5. Chris Brown - Yo (Excuse Me Miss) ... B-
I hate Chris Brown with a passion. His voice is annoying, his music is bland and uninteresting. The fact that he's hailed as "the New Usher" is an insult to Usher. I know he's 16, but he's just plain horrible. This song is not horrible, but not good either.
6. Bubba Sparxxx - Ms. New Booty ... B
Catchy as hell. Not amazing, but yeah. And again, just because it sounds like David Banner's "Play" doesn't mean it's unoriginal. It just means that the producer (Collie Park) was too lazy to come up with another beat.
7. T-Pain - I'm N Luv (Wit a Stripper) ... B+
Good music, and quite catchy.
8. Three 6 Mafia - Poppin' My Collar ... B
Catchy.
9. Ne-Yo - When You're Mad ... B+
Something like "O" by Omarion lyricwise, only a bit better. Good music.
10. Nick Lachey - What's Left of Me ... A
An ode to Jessica Simpson basically. Very good, actually, if cheesy.
11. Daniel Powter - Bad Day ... B
Sorry, it's just not that good. It's way overrated, but James Blunt was a lot better (take away "Goodbye My Lover" *cringes*).
12. The Fray - Over My Head (Cable Car) ... B
Started as a free download on iTunes, and I still don't think it's THAT good.
13. Teddy Geiger - For You I Will (Confidence) ... A-
Great.
14. Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away ... B
Not her best single.
15. KT Tunstall - Black Horse & The Cherry Tree ... A
An amazing, underrated artist whose best song is "Other Side of the World" which was on Europe's Now 61. "Suddenly I See" is also great - it was in the movie "Devil Wears Prada". "Black Horse..." is a fun and very well done song.
16. Saving Jane - Girl Next Door ... A-
A very good rock song with amazing music.
17. Ashley Parker Angel - Let U Go ... A
Another very good rock song. By the name I could've sworn he'd be a girl though.
18. All American Rejects - Move Along ... A
Another catchy one which is an awesome follow up to "Dirty Little Secret".
19. Nickelback - Savin' Me ... A
Sounds like Nickelback. Another good one by the power-ballad rock band.
20. Keith Urban - Tonight I Wanna Cry ... B-
The NOW people have yet again put a Keith Urban song on a NOW album just so they can say that there's a little bit of country AND rock and roll on this album. But by now I think everyone knows it's just a lame tradition and the songs are just filler.
So, basically, this NOW album has an afterthought of "eh". The rap songs are not great (but then again, when are they?), the pop songs are mediocre for the most part, but the rock songs are amazing. The rock songs saved this album, but basically, Now 22 shows what a dreadful turn the American music industry has taken. Golden Age of Rap? Ugh.
Overall this album gets a B.
- Cool! A reference to what bands you SHOULDN'T waste your time on
     By on 2006-10-16
Everything on here got popular on the hit station; therefore everything on here sucks. For the most part that's true, although I must plead guilty to liking "Move Along" and "Walk Away". These compilations really make no sense though, because a lot of people who like rock hate rap, and vice versa. Why combine the two genres on a CD? Anyway, I gave up on NOW CDs when I chose to have a seven song limit of good songs on a CD for me to buy it. This CD has um; two! It's pathetic. Compilations annoy me unless they're non-album tracks. Don't buy this or any of the Now CDs, especially ones before Now 8.
- Save your money :-l
     By A24ZFFRQ4MG3XL on 2006-07-22
I gave this 2 stars for the variety of songs here, but I took off 2 stars because these are almost all tired songs. They are now overplayed on radio and if we here them again, ...
The good songs like Check On It, Yo (Excuse Me Miss) and What's Left Of Me can't even save this cd. The overplayed Bad Day and S.O.S don't help either. Putting out cds like this, just give big record companies a chance to get more money from us. If you love these songs, buy them from the artists. Sure this is a good way to get variety on a disc, but most songs are old and tired and should be put to bed.

as usual..."Now 22" falls in between the two extremes that the "Now" Cds are so used to....really good and down right horrible. The main problem that has really plagued the series the last five years or so is the horrible hip hop tunes that litter the compilation and majorly bring down the quality. So...to make this short:
The Good/Decent:
"Temperature"- Sean Paul
"Over My Head"- the Fray
"Walk Away"- Kelly
"Bad Day"- Brad Powter
"Black Horse"- KT Tunstall
"Savin Me"- Nickelback
The Baaaaad:
"SOS"- Rhianna
"Ridin"- Chamilionaire
"When You're Mad"- Ne-Yo
"Poppin My Collar"- Three 6 Mafia
"I'm In Luv"- T-Pain
"Let U Go"- Ashley Parker Angel
- Good Music

Most of these songs are okay and my favorite one is "Bad Day". But these are not exceptionally great songs so I wouldn't give it five stars. I like this CD though.
- Ew.
     By on 2006-10-26
If you have any musical taste at all, don't get within 8 feet of this album. Your eyebrows might start to combust. Anyway, every song on this album is terrible, with the exception of KT Tunstall's Black Horse. The rap is disgusting, the... rock? It's more like pop with synth guitar. What ever it is, don't bother. And the lone country song doesn't quite mingle with the other bad sound. So: if you want to keep your lunch, stay away. Unless you are a preppy pre-teen girl. Then its good stuff.
- GET THIS!!

Almost every single song in this cd is perfect! Of course it has some songs that are not exactly my favorite but no cd is perfect.. overall, i give this cd 5 stars

This album had no entertaining songs, plus the fact that there was a substantial amount of #1 songs on this album, making it hard to listen to when trying to get away from the radio. And the worst part is, the best song on here is a country song. Here are some ratings (on a scale of 1-5):
1. S.O.S.- 1
2. Temperature- 2
3. Ridin'- 1
4. Check On It- 1.5
5. Yo- 2.5
6. Ms. New Booty- 3
7. I'm N Luv- 1
8. Poppin' My Collar- 1
9. When You're Mad- 4
10. What's Left Of Me- 2
11. Bad Day- 2
12. Over My Head- 4
13. For You I Will- 2
14. Walk Away- 1
15. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree- 4
16. Girl Next Door- 2
17. Let U Go- 2.5
18. Move Along- 3.5
19. Savin' Me- 3
20. Tonight I Wanna Cry- 5
And I know it may be too early, but here are my Now 23 predictions. I may or may not like any of these songs, these are just songs I think will end up on the album:
1. Hips Don't Lie- Shakira f/ Wycleaf Jean

Now it's Now 22, yet another installment in the "Now Series." I do not like some songs and I do like some songs. Nickelback's "Savin' Me" would probobly have to be my favorite song on this album. This is only highly recommended to you if you are a "Now" Fan and will always be. This mainly is just something like a CD you would burn for your friends and yourself. Like some reveiwers said, "This has about everything in music." I agree, it does. It has rap, rock, and country. I think they should just stick to one kind of music genre, but it dosen't really bother me.
1. Rihanna- S.O.S. 5/5
2. Sean Paul- Temperature 3/5
3. Chamillionaire- Ridin' 3/5
4. Beyonce- Check On It 4/5
5. Chis Brown- Yo (Excuse Me Miss) 0/5
6. Bubba Sparxxx- Ms. New Booty 5/5
7. T-Pain- I'm In Luv (wit a stripper) 3/5
8. Three 6 Mafia- Poppin' My Collar 3/5
9. Ne-Yo- When You're Mad 4/5
10. Nick Lachey- What's Left Of Me 5/5
11. Daniel Powter- Bad Day 1/5 (Absolutley Hate)
12. The Fray- Over My Head (Cable Car) 4/5
13. Teddy Geiger- For You I Will (Confidence) 4/5
14. Kelly Clarkson- Walk Away 5/5
15. K.T. Tunstall- Black Horse & The Cherry Tree 5/5
16. Saving Jane- Girl Next Door 4/5
17. Ashley Parker Angel- Let U Go 4/5
18. The All American Rejects- Move 4/5
19. Nickelback- Savin' Me 5/5
20. Keith Urban- Tonight I Wanna Cry 4/5
Most of the good songs are the tracks towards the back of the CD. Still, this is a very good "Now" installment. Hope you enjoy!

Now 22 has a variety of music that I love. Todays hits. It is one CD I will allow my teenagers to blast in the car! We all like the CD. Actually, I have always loved all the 'Now' cds. It's music for all ages............
- Boring, UGH

Usually I write long reviews for NOW albums but this one will be pretty short since the reason I'm giving it only a two is pretty simple. These songs are so old to the point where they aren't only worth buying, but to the point where the CD is just...UGH! The probem is this: The series is a month behind, but so is their music.
For a good example, T-Pain's "I'm In Luv". This song is over a half year old. I think stations added it in February and dropped it sometime in April. This song is almost too old for the preceding edition, which also slightly has the same problem of old cuts. Rihanna's "SOS" is a good song with a "Tainted Love" sample, but this was played over March-May, not May-July as this edition wants to target. "Unfaithful" would've went better here. Beyonce's "Check on It", being one of the oldest. In general, it's a pretty above average song that went big, but this song is almost a full year old as stations added this back in Novmember last year and dropped around February. How and when is this a late spring/summer hit?
I guess despite all of that, there are some decent tracks on here. Chris Brown's "Yo" is ok if you drop that fact that he's only 16. He does however have a decent set of pipes like Usher and Omarion and can pull off the slow R&B track with a groove. The Fray's track is also very decent, with an obvious Coldplay influence. And, it's probably the most recent one on here. "Walk Away" by Kelly Clarkson is also one of her better singles as her Breakaway album has a rock edge. And the style of K.T. Tunstall's track is nice, with an upbeat flow and a country-like pop song that's sure to keep your feet moving.
Other than that, it's the same old same old as from the last edition. The usual rhythmic rap, the R&B song churned from actually rap artists, the usual and never changing pop-roc, and the three or four alternative-lite bands at the end, with a random country song. Only most of these tracks are so beaten down right now that it's not worth the pruchase to me.
Now 23 will probably look like:
1)Rihanna - Unfaithful
2)Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous
3)Pussycat Dolls - Buttons
4)Shakira - Hips Don't Lie
5)Sean Paul - Give It Up to Me
6)Chamillionaire - Grown and Sexy
7)Beyonce - Deja Vu
8)Chris Brown - Gimme That
9)Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair
10)Natasha Bedingfield - Single
11)Ne-Yo - Sexy Love
12)Nick Lachey - I Can't Hate You Anymore
13)The Fray - How to Save a Life
14)Teddy Geiger - These Walls
15)KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See
16)All American Rejects - It Ends Tonight
17)Nickelback - Far Away
18)Panic! At the Disco - I Write Sins, Not Tragedies
19)Cascada - Miracle
20)[random country song goes here]

I don't kno wat people thinks about the artist they hate, but i think that how could give daniel powter bad scores. The only reason why Daniel Powter got more famous than James Blunt is because of his song on this album. He also sold a lot of Daniel Powter Album because of "Bad Day".
Here are the songs i like on this album:
Chris Brown's Yo
Nick Lachey's What's left of me
Daniel Powter's Bad Day
Teddy Geiger's For You I Will
Nickelback's Saving Me
The OK's
Rihanna's SOS
Kelly Clarkson's Walk Away
- Nearly great...

There may be some people who enjoy listening to only 1 type of music. Then, there are people like myself who enjoy many styles. My favorite songs on this CD are Bad Day, Walk Away, and Savin' Me. Also like Chris Brown and K T Tunstall. I mean, where else can you find all of these songs on 1 CD? Now, there are some songs that I don't care for, such as Ridin', and that is why I took off a star. However, I would recommend this CD to any lover of music. :)

Oh, the depravity of Man!
I foresee chimpanzee mating calls as the next Number 1 single.
- Mostly horrid songs, all overplayed

Eight pop songs. Eight hip-hop songs. One country song. Only 3 ROCK songs, only two of which are mildly entertaining (The Fray and All-American Rejects?) It's a dark day for American music when the same 20 songs are looped on the radio for six months... and that's the LUCKY people who hear them all! You'd think that the pop and hip-hop could be DECENT for today's times, but no, it's homogenized by corporate America.
1. Rihanna- S.O.S. - Probably stands for "Stealing of Samples" from "Tainted Love" and looping them incessantly, I see? Captures nothing of the classic. D
2. Sean Paul- Temperature - THe most annoying voice of all time. F
3. Chamillionaire- Ridin' - No. F-
4. Beyonce- Check On It - Destiny's Child rolls in their grave. F
5. Chris Brown- Yo (Excuse Me Miss)- Don't recall it, but since it has "yo" in the title, it must be bad. D
6. Bubba Sparxxx- Ms. New Booty - He used to actually be a good rapper. D
7. T-Pain- I'm In Luv - I'd give it an F, but that's too friendly. Z
8. Three 6 Mafia- Poppin' My Collar. Z-
9. Ne-Yo- When You're Mad. Z--
10. Nick Lachey- What's Left Of Me - 98 degrees of pain. D-
11. Daniel Powter- Bad Day - Slightly good. C
12. The Fray- Over My Head (Cable Car)- Talented. B
13. Teddy Geiger- For You I Will (Confidence). C
14. Kelly Clarkson- Walk Away - I really hate her. F
15. K.T. Tunstall- Black Horse & The Cherry Tree. C+
16. Saving Jane- Girl Next Door. ?
17. Ashley Parker Angel- Let U Go. D-
18. The All American Rejects- Move Along. Boy, this is good. B+
19. Nickelback- Savin' Me. I never liked them. C-
20. Keith Urban- Tonight I Wanna Cry. ?
Grades: D, F, F-. F, D, D, Z, Z-, Z--, D-, C, B, C, F, C+, ?, D-, B+, C-, ?.
Average: Unknown, but it's bad.
Hopefully, the future will bring better music.
